THIRTY|GOD

I tried to shout, to scream at them to stop.
My lips moved and my lungs screamed but no sound escaped.

Vicious snarls rebounded off bloodied fur and torn flesh. Two being blurred and merged into one dark and sandy mess, stricken with blood and bits of shredded sinew.

I didn't even try to comprehend how a man had turned into a wolf but none of that mattered now. This was a fight to the death, and only one would be victorious.

They moved as a whirlwind of tooth and claw, the larger and darker of the two wolves burying his teeth deep into the smaller wolves hind. I never knew a wolf could scream, untill now, the creature released a horrid screech of pain, turning to swipe at the dark wolf with a blood stained paw.

He was loosing badly and he knew it.

The sandy wolf tried to clam down upon the largers flesh, instead accidentally creating an opening for a kill.

It was quick, painless. The dark wolf's jaw latched around the smaller wolfs neck, holding its now limp and lifeless body in its powerful grasp.

I was almost knocked backwards when the waves of dominance oozing off the male hit me. Fresh and crisp yet something distinctly male.

He dropped the wolf and it's head lolled sadly on the floor, body motionless and red eyes fast shut. He was dead.

The dark wolf turned, moving out of sight for a second as vicious cracks echoed through the empty air. He appeared a second later, I lost my breath as his golden skin glowed in the sun. He was built like a god, every feature was chiselled to perfection, yet somehow he only made me think of Greyson.

I shut my eyes and shook my head.
Trying to get rid of the thought of him. No doubt he hated me now anyways.

He walked towards me with big, powerful strides. His golden eyes held me transfixed beneath his scrutinising gaze. He stopped as he stood over me, holding out a hand, which I took.

His skin was warm but his hand was rough with calluses. I let go quickly, as though he were on fire as soon as I had stood up, but he didn't seem to care.

His eyes flickered over my face, scanning for something that I couldn't quite trace. He was stunning, a mountain of tightly bound muscle and sinew, a machine built for combat he seemed unfazed by the fight, not a scratch to be seen on his Adonis body.

My words were breathless as I spoke, my voice like a timid child.
"Who are you?"

He completely ignored my question, his eyes lingered on my neck. On the bite. Self conscious I pulled my shirt back to it covered the wound completely.

"We need to get you back." He rumbled, walking back to the car.

"Back to where?" I was growing increasingly frustrated, I refused to go anywhere with this stranger. "Who are you!"

"It doesn't matter." He hissed. "Your mate will be missing you." He signalled something to his men, who instantly escorted me to the car.

"I'm not going anywhere until you tell me what's going on!" I didn't mean to shriek, but I think I kind of did.

"You'll do as you're told." He shot me one deadly look with his glowing golden orbs and I sat straight down. He climbed into the drivers and another man sat in the passenger side seat, a guard I assumed. He was not someone to be messed with, I had already watch him transform into a fucking massive wolf and kill a man, well.. another wolf. Either way I certainly didn't want to find out what else he was capable of.

I buckled myself in, but I couldn't stop the questions that plagued my mind. "Where are we going?"

"To the nearest checkpoint, your Alpha will collect you from there." The car roared to life, with a screech it sped off down the road, leaving me clutching the sides of my white leather seat for dear life.

I stared at him through the mirror, why wasn't I scared? Maybe I was in shock.

We cruised down the road, I watched blankly our the window at the passing trees, seeing brief glimpses of woodland between the fence foliage.

There were no cities or towns, he drove us deeper into what seemed like no mans land. I gasped as I caught a glimpse of silver fur running parallel to the car through the dense forest.

Two months ago I would've laughed at the hilarity of the situation, but now, the reality of my predicament was really starting to settle on my shoulders. The weight held me under water, I couldn't breathe. Reality knocking all the air from my lungs, instead only water burned my lungs with cold hard truth.

I wasn't safe, staying here I would surely drown.

I tried to open the car door, even if it did open I didn't know if I would have the guts to jump from a moving vehicle. Part of me was relieved when it didn't open.

I caught a deathly glare from the beast in the front seat through the mirror. "Don't even try. He growled, but then anger turned to something akin to concern, deep lines marring his smooth skin. "What are you so afraid of?"

"Are you fucking serious!" Everything came bursting out, like a damn that had collapsed, no filter was left. An emotionless chuckle tumbled from my chest, he had just killed a man in front of me less than an hour ago and now he had the audacity to ask me what I was afraid of.

"Yes." He deadpanned. "You're Alpha is a good man, is he not?"

"What are you talking about!"

He ignored me. "He doesn't hit you, does he?"

"Who? I don't understand what you're saying!"

"You're mate? Is that who you're afraid of?" He stared me through gorgeous gold eyes.

"My what?"

"You're mated, anyone can tell. So tell me.. who is it that you fear most?" Was this just a game to him, to fuck with my mind?

"What the fuck are you talking about!" I pulled at the door handle again, this time praying it would open. "Let me out!"

He chuckled, only fuelling my anger to burn brighter, i unbuckled my seatbelt, resulting to try to kick the glass from the window. It didn't even budge.

The man seemed almost amused as he smirked. "It's bulletproof."

I threw my fists into it, refusing to give up I screamed. "Stop the car! Let me out!"

He mumbled a few choice words to the guard in the passenger seat that were enough to make a sailor blush and the car slowed to a halt.

"Get out." He said with an unreadable  austerity about himself.

Every disembarked the car, I stepped back a few paces to put more distance between us.
I shot a sidewards glance to the woodland behind me, weighing my chances of even making it to the forest line.

"Don't bother." He drawled, staring at something behind me. "If we didn't catch you he would."

I turned slowly, expecting to see another beast. Instead my heart was thrown out of rhythm by a pair of shockingly grey eyes.
