𝗦𝗔𝗡 𝗗𝗜𝗘𝗚𝗢, 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗔

"You sleepy, baby?" I asked Dinah as she gently clenched her eyes shut after leaning her head on my shoulder

"No, I'm just dizzy." She replied softly

We were at the counseling center for my appointment and thankfully Dinah was just as intrigued in joining the conversation just as much as Mrs. Gains was.

"Do you need water? Or, do I need to get you food? I read that dizziness during pregnancy can mean you need water, food or to move around a little. But, I know you're tired-" I said with my statement being cut short by Dinah laughing lowly

"What?" I asked now smiling at her response

"I'm alright, Mushy." She simply voiced before turning her head a bit to place a kiss against my lips

"You're so perfect..." I then mumbled as she pulled away smiling

"Walk to the edge of the Earth with me...remember?" My wife asked quoting something I had said to her years ago causing me to chuckle in a raspy tone

"Of course, beautiful," I replied while entangling my hand into hers

"Colton Andrews isn't this a pleasant surprise?!" Mrs. Gains happily announced as she made her way around the corner now clearly seeing me and Dinah

"And the Mrs in the flesh?" She exclaimed happily as I helped Dinah up

"Yes, this is my wife, Dinah Andrews, Dinah this is Mrs. Gains," I said giving them a quick introduction to one another

"Nice to meet you." Dinah then said reaching out to shake Mrs. Gains' hand while smiling

"No, beautiful, it is nice to meet you!" Mrs. Gains rebutted

"Oh, how excited I am for this session!" Mrs. Gains avowed as we walked into her office causing me to pull a chair out a bit more for Dinah before helping her sit

"May I have a water please, Mrs. Gains?" I asked causing her to nod while saying, "Of course" before handing me a bottle of water from her fridge

"Thank you," I replied as I sat and handed the water to Dinah leaving her to laugh lowly knowing this was coming from the moment that had passed a few minutes back

And, well, Mrs. Gains, she just smiled.

"First things first! Colton, what has changed since I last talked with you?" Mrs. Gains asked with a bright smile

"My PTSD has definitely calmed down, especially my BPD. I have been mending my friendships and most importantly, me and my wife are working on ourselves, each other, and our marriage." I answered causing her to smile even harder as if that was even possible

"That's phenomenal, is that with or without the help of the medication?" She then asked

"Without. I'm more so doing more of the meditation to stay grounded and with my wife around it really just makes it easier for me to stay level-headed." I replied

"What do you think, Mrs. Andrews?" Mrs. Gains asked Dinah now looking her way

"Yeah, I'm proud of him. He's sleeping now without waking up from nightmares or discomfort, he's not drinking and he's just as gentle as he was when I first met him. Maybe, I should say when we first started dating-" Dinah stated only stopping when she noticed Mrs. Gains was trying to keep her laughter inaudible

"You told her the story didn't you?" Dinah then asked me causing us all to laugh

"Was I supposed to not?" I rebutted causing her to shake her head as she grabbed my hand while smiling

"No, baby." She replied as she gently squeezed my hand

"Alright, my sweet babies, I do want to ask you both questions about you guys' marriage and hopefully I don't keep you two all day, because I want to know everything!" Mrs. Gains said causing me to laugh knowing this was going to happen

"Go for it." Dinah voiced showcasing her approval

"So, this is a couples exercise to help get a couple to voice truths that help remind them why they even fell in love in the first place and to help restore the bond. I'm just going to ask a question and you both will give an answer from your own personal perspective." Mrs. Gains explained

"Understood," I said as Mrs. Gains grabbed a book and her notes

"When do you both think you fell in love with one another?" She asked

"I fell in love with Dinah without knowing it to be honest. For the first year and a half, I tried to tell myself so many lies about how I felt about her and it all went down the drain when my heart fully took over." I answered

"Mrs. Andrews?" Mrs. Gains then asked while smiling

"I'm pretty sure I fell in love with Colton the moment I noticed I could show him all of me down to my flaws with him ready to just accept me as I was and am." She answered leaving my cheeks to heat up

Even though we had shared so many moments over the years, every day I just wanted to go back and relive those days, weeks, months, and years again because every last moment was more than worth it.

"Sounds like you two had a soul tie from the beginning without knowing it since you both were so caught up in living day to day or thinking your love for one another was just platonic." Mrs. Gains said

"I had a feeling I was falling in love but because at the time my divorce was freshly finalized and being in love again wasn't something I was looking forward to; especially since I had already fallen for the wrong person before. But, Dinah is just one of those people it's hard to not fall for." I explained hoping to add more depth to my initial vague response causing Mrs. Gains to nod with a small smile

"When do you two feel the most peace with one another?" She then asked

"I feel the most peace with my husband when I'm in his arms. Every night it's something I look forward to." Dinah answered

"And, I feel the most peace with my wife when she locked eyes with me. I know it sounds cliché but she's the only woman other than my Mom to see me cry and remind me of a life with purpose. So, my moments of peace sprout now from the only woman left in my life who gives me every ounce of love she has in her heart every day of her life." I ranted

"I would have loved to be at you two's wedding." Mrs. Gains said causing Dinah to smile

"Colton has a way with words, so my wedding day I was a mess." Dinah teased

"I was the same way, sweetheart." Mrs. Gains replied

"How many kids are you guys hoping for?" Mrs. Gains then asked

"6" "4" Me and Dinah answered at the same time

"He's pushing it. I'm pregnant with twins which is the only reason I went from 3 to 4," Dinah said leaving Mrs. Gains in a fit of laughter

This was going to be a very amusing session.
