𝗗𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗔𝗦, 𝗧𝗘𝗫𝗔𝗦

"So you're telling me you want to buy a house for us?" I asked Colton as I swept the floor

"Yes!" He replied with a low smile

"And why do you want to do such a thing when it is just me, you, and Max?" I asked while leaning against the broom and smiling at him

"I don't know...just was thinking about us being able to have more room." He said while biting his lip

"More room for what exactly?!" I asked beginning to sweep Max's fur into the dustpan

"Well...I think it's time for us to expand, you know?" He replied

"Are you sure that's it?" I asked leaning the broom on the side of the wall and walking over to the couch where he sat before slipping onto his lap causing his hands to find their way to my waist

"Other than the fact that I am about to turn 30 and you're about to turn 26 and...the fact I'm ready for a lot of things that I wasn't before." He rambled causing me to smile as I kissed his forehead

"Okay, what's on your mind?" I asked tilting my head as my Mother would to me when I wouldn't tell her the truth

"Nothing." He responded trying to brush off whatever it was he wanted to speak about

"Colton, I know you better than you think I do meaning I know when you want to talk about something don't shy away from it," I said while playing with the hem of his shirt

"Dinah, do you...want to have kids?" He then asked

I then pushed his shoulder beginning to laugh as I said, "I knew it! You saw Houston's newborn the other day and it was all over your face. You have baby fever!"

"Listen, I know you want to get married first and all which I agree with but I can't see myself without you and I can't see anyone but you having my children." He replied while pressing kisses against my collarbones gently

"That's a big responsibility Colton and on top of that we aren't even supposed to be doing this," I said lowly causing him to look at me while furrowing his eyebrows

"You're a rank below me and the higher-ups can't say anything about it for that reason alone." He retorted

"Yeah, but we are on the same Seal team and you know how they're going to feel about that," I replied causing him to sigh knowing I was right

There was stricter protocol with us being Seals. If the slightest thing happens and it causes haptic within the company they will station us on separate ends of the world and possibly strip some of our rank.

"Well if you're having second thoughts please just tell me and I'll respect it." He said lowly while looking toward the ceiling

"No, no, when the time comes...I'll leave the Military" I promised before causing his gaze to meet mines

"Really?" He asked in disbelief

"Love requires sacrifice right?" I replied causing him to send me a look of complete admiration before he messily pressed his lips against mine

"Marry me?" He asked while pulling away from our kiss and resting his forehead against mine

"What?" I asked with a low chuckle thinking he was just saying something in the moment

"I want to give you all and more than you need because you've been more than remarkable to me...I've fallen more and more in love with you since the day you walked through that front door. And most likely it's because you're my guardian angel with a halo that shines brighter than any woman on this Earth. I met you in the middle of Hell and I'm pretty sure you've brought me to this Heaven you speak of twenty-four seven...And I just want to love you until we pass into the Afterlife and continue to love you even beyond then." He then said while looking me in the eyes and pulling a pink box from his pocket

"I guess we had the same thing in mind for tonight then huh?" I replied with watery eyes before pulling the wedding band I had gotten him a while back from my purse that lay on the coffee table

He began to laugh and said, "So I'll take that as a yes?"

"Yes, of course...I love you so much." I replied hugging him tightly while crying as he chuckled lowly and Max walked over to check out what was wrong with us

"Are you going to look at your ring baby?" He asked causing me to nod as I opened the box looking at pear cut diamond ring and band he'd gotten

"Wait, will you marry me?" I asked causing him to laugh while shaking his head

"Yes, Lieutenant Commander, I'll marry you." He replied while biting his lip looking me up and down as he slid the engagement ring and band onto my left ring finger

"Let me get your phalanges!" I beamed happily

"You're such a nerd!" He said while laughing as he handed me his hand letting me slide on his wedding band before he gently wiped my tears

"We're engaged!" I said in sheer disbelief happily rubbing Max's head before kissing Colton again

"My Mom is going to be so happy." I then said causing him to ask, "And your Dad?"

"You're about to take his baby girl what do you think?" I asked now laughing as Colton's expression sharpened
