"You guys are so cute!" Ross said as me and Dinah slightly gazed toward each other

We were finally headed back to the states after another 6 months that seemed to fly by and honestly it felt great. The United States was finally no longer at war with Iraq and Afghanistan which meant my team wouldn't be deployed in a long time and most importantly me and Dinah wouldn't have to sneak around base anymore.

"Right! It was like yesterday when you two hated each other?!" Houston asked causing me to look over and smile at her

The other lieutenant riding with us to the aircraft then said, "Yeah, well, we all know Colton is just used to getting his way"

I then directed my attention to him as he began staring me down causing me to ask nonchalantly, "And what is that suppose to mean?"

"It means that you're a spoiled little princess who all the higher-ups feel pity for ever since he lost his Moth-"

"That's enough!" Dinah snapped cutting him off looking over at him as he smirked causing me to laugh inaudibly

The truck then stopped indicating we were back to the home base causing our team to begin heading out, exiting the back of the truck.

"Hey, Colton, make sure you pass along your little girlfriend to me next so I can see what the hypes really been about her around the base!" He then said causing anger to fill throughout me

"What the fuck did you just say?" I said as I began to make my way to where he stood

"I would've never thought you would be the guy into black chicks. You're "whipped" aren't you?! What's next the cookout?!" He retorted with a laugh as we stood face to face not even an inch away from each other

"Colton!" My team called as they immediately made their way over to us

"Guys stay out of it!" Boone then said keeping the guys back

That was his last straw and I wasn't going to have a conversation about it, I was just going to beat his fucking ass in response.

I then chuckled with him before briskly pulling my arm back punching him in the face as hard as I could causing blood to spill from his nose before continuing to kick his ass.

I was sick of the slick remarks from him that were circling the base and most importantly he wasn't going to continue disrespecting the woman I love.

I then drug him to his feet by the collar of his shirt and slammed him against the side of the truck as blood gushed from his nose and his eyes watered.

"Let me tell you something, I can be whipped or whatever whoever in this base thinks I am about that woman but I know this you'll and everyone around here better respect it or I won't hesitate to kick anyone's ass about her. So, to answer your question, yes, I am whipped and the rest is nobody but me, and mine's fucking business!" I sneered flaring my nose angrily

"Apologize!" I then said

"Sorry!" He yelped

"Not to me to Dinah and if I don't like the apology I'm going to kick your ass again." I rebutted causing him to look over at her with a red embarrassed face as he said, "I apologize for everything I said, Dinah."

She then nodded and said lowly, "It's okay."

I then threw him to the ground and said, "She's no longer Dinah to you, you address her as Lieutenant, and don't forget I'm your new Commander."

"Yes, sir!" He replied blocking his face as I began walking over toward my team angrily

"Well, that's the first time I've ever heard pretty boy here pull the rank card!" Ross snickered lowly

"That's because he pissed me off" I replied

"You good man?" Houston asked causing me to nod as I took Dinah's bag to hold it while we made our way to the aircraft

"Clear for take off in ten minutes, boys and ma'am" The pilot announced as we made our way onto the plane

I then felt Dinah's small hand touch my back causing me to turn as she looked up at me slightly before grabbing my hand gently, beginning to look at how swollen they were.

"I'm fine," I mumbled looking away from her knowing she wants to talk about what just happened and more

Dinah has been alluding to the fact she wants to know why my emotions and reactions can be all over sometimes ever since she caught me in the middle of one of my breakdowns.

But I just wasn't ready to have that conversation with her about my Father yet.

"He wasn't worth it, you know? Plus, my family does throw great cookouts" She said with a little smile trying to cheer me up

"That's not the point, baby, he disrespected you and I didn't appreciate it." I rebutted sitting down on a nearby bench causing her to walk between my legs

"Well thank you but you've got to be a bit more rational, Commander." She said as I placed my hands on the sides of her thighs while looking up at her

"I think you should learn who's really in control, Lieutenant," I replied causing her to laugh as I pulled Dinah onto my lap beginning to lay multiple kisses on her face

"Aww!" All the guys cooed causing me to stick my middle finger up towards them as I continued kissing my love while smiling

Dinah did nothing but laugh uncontrollably as I carried her through the door of our loft causing me to smile.

"Ahh!" She squealed beginning to softly hit my back causing me to slap her thigh while she squirmed within my grasp

"Excuse me, boy!" I said to Max as he vigorously shook his tail happily now following us as I made my way to my and Dinah's bedroom

I then stopped in front of our bed and playfully slammed her onto the bed as her laughter filled the loft.

I then pulled her boots off throwing them to the floor before she tried to gently kick me resulting in me grabbing her foot and yanking her towards me.

"Colton!" She yelped as Max jumped on the bed beginning to lick our faces

"Hey, sweet boy." She cooed rubbing Max's head

"Nope! You're not getting away!" I replied beginning to tickle her with her body tensing as she began to try running from me cackling like a wild banshee causing me to smile harder

Being with Dinah was the best feeling I've ever felt and it was safe to say she has made me feel more than alive.
