"Kez, hurry your ass up!" Lewis' fist pounded on her bedroom door with impatience.
A few seconds later, she pulled the door open and stepped out. He handed her a new shirt and she pulled her previous one off because it was covered in...well just take a guess. "Ready to go?" She smirked, popping some gum into her mouth. "Yeah. How do I look? Do I smell good?" He asked, gesturing to himself. She hummed, leaning down to sniff him, "you smell like a bisexual woman's dream, Lulu." She patted his shoulder as he chuckled at her words.
"Well, there's only one bisexual woman I want," he shrugs, following her down the hall.
"Pussy whipped," she snickered, sliding her shoes on at the door. "You're face was just between some legs so I wouldn't be talking," he scoffed, walking out the door. They spotted Kaikara and Jae-hyun both waiting by their car as they were going to help pick up Victoria and her family. Kaikara pulled out some baby wipes and grabbed her daughter's face, wiping her mouth as Kez cringed. "Mum, come on! Is that necessary?" She complained.
"Yes! You're activities will not be embarrassing me in front of her parents," Kara scowled, patting her daughter's cheek before letting go.
"Haha!" Lewis cackled, pulling open the door to her car. "Shut up forehead!" Kez sneered, smacking him in the back of the head. "You got a big forehead too!" Jae-hyun added, causing Kez to look at her father in offense. "Baba! Stop! You know I'm insecure about it!" She whined, holding her hand over her forhead, causing Kara to lean over and hit her husband's arm.
Jae winced, mumbling an apology before climbing into his car. Kez smirked, slipping into the passenger seat of her own car. "Works every time."
"He's seriously gotta stop fallin' for that," Lewis snorts, watching as she started the car up and pulled out of the driveway. They drove down to the airport and Kez had to stay in the car or she'd draw too much attention. Lewis waited by her door, the window rolled down as they chatted, waiting for Victoria. "Oh shit," Kez mumbled, pulling her glasses on to see better. "What?" His brows furrowed in confusion as he quickly turned to where she was looking.
His smile quickly fell upon seeing John with them. "What the fuck is he doing here, Keziyah?"
"Not the full name," she cringed, pulling her hood back over her head.
"Lewis!" Hazel exclaimed, dropping her pillow and running over to him, temporarily distracting him from John. He dropped down with a smile, scooping her up as she giggled. "Hey, birthday girl! You have fun on the fancy airplane?" He chuckled. "Yes yes yes!" She cheered, hugging onto him. Her tiny brows furrowed when she seen Kez hiding underneath her hood, "why is Kazie hiding?" She questioned, causing Kez to snicker at her name pronunciation.
"That's a really good question." Lewis mumbled, "let's find out." Hazel giggled as he set her down on Kezie's lap, forcing the woman to acknowledge the girl. "Hey, princess. How was the flight?" Kez said, pressing a small kiss to the girl's bonnett covered hair. Hazel frowned sadly, her eyes falling as she sniffles, "Mommy and Daddy fight a lot on my birthday."
"I'm sorry babygirl. You don't have to worry about that anymore, okay? These two days are all about you now." Kez spoke, bringing comfort to the girl. "Where's Kai?" She asked, not seeing the boy in the backseat like she expected. "He's waiting for you back at the house. He's got a surprise for you," Kez explained, pressing a kiss to her head as she giggled excitedly.
"Lewis!" Victoria called, dropping her bags and running over to him, completely dismissing John who was talking to her.
He grinned, opening his arms as she ran into them. She smiled brightly, his arms wrapping around her body tightly. He sent a cocky smirk to John as his hands traveled lower on her waist. She pulled away first, clearing her throat, "hi." Kez and Hazel both shared a look, smirking knowingly. "Hi, darling. You riding with us?" As she went to respond, John's hand came around the band of her leggings and pulled her back. "Nah, I'mma ride with y'all."
"She can ride with us," Jae-hyun assured, noticing the way his godson's jaw clenched tightly in a rush of anger.
"That's so sweet, thank you." Victoria smiled warmly, turning to greet Kezie's parents. "I'm Victoria. It's so nice to finally meet you guys." She extended her hand but Kara just moved to hug her instead. Everyone introduced themselves, getting familiar with each other as they packed the cars up with their luggage. Lewis silently contemplated on throwing John's suitcase away as he pushed it to the side to make room for Hazel's suitcase.
"Mama MonΓ©t, you wanna ride with me?" Keziyah asked so Lewis could take her place and sit with Victoria. "I got some stories with BeyoncΓ© and Janet Jackson," she added. "That's all you had to say." Mrs. MonΓ©t grinned, walking over to Kezie's car and hopping into the passenger seat. Lewis smiled knowingly, shutting the trunk of the car. "PG stories, Kez!" He scolded, pulling open the door to the backseat of Jae's car.
He sat down next to Vic, the woman stuck in the middle of him and Kaikara because her step-dad was up in the passengers seat, him and Jae talking nonstop about cars and such. Really just what guys talk about. "Is Kaylen gonna be here?" She asked. "Yes, he's at the market getting some extra stuff for dinner," Kara answered.
"Hazel is so excited. She loves it here. She calls it her second home." Victoria said towards Kara, distracting herself from Lewis who she was pressed up against even though there was empty space between her and Kara. "Yes, Kezie told me all about it. That's so sweet. I can't wait to teach her all about our culture."
They soon pulled up the large house near the beach, and the guys all unpacked the stuff as the women went inside. Kaidyn heard the doors open and rushed down the hall excitedly. Hazel giggled excitedly, running into his arms, the two jumping around happily. "Want to show her your playroom here?" Kez signed to him, and he nodded, taking Hazel's smaller hand.
"He ditched me real fast," Tinashe comments in offense, watching the two kids run off down the hall. "Is Kaylen back yet?" Kez asked, leaning down to press a kiss to her cheek. "Not yet, no," she answered. "Hi, I'm Tinashe," she extended her hand to Vic's mom kindly. "It's wonderful to meet you. I'm L'Tanya, Victoria's mom."
Vic glanced down at her phone, seeing messages from her closest friends, Merida, JhenΓ©, and Candice. "Uh, Kez, would you mind picking my friends up at the airport? They just landed." She requested. Kez nods, pulling her shoes back on, "sure. It's Merida, JhenΓ©, and Candice, right?" Vic nods in confirmation, "yeah, you have Merida's number, so just call her when you're there."
"Alright. Be right back." Kez pressed a kiss to Tinashe's cheek before rushing out the door.
"I'll give y'all a tour, come on," Kaikara added, leading them further into the home.
"Where you goin' off to?" Lewis asked, grabbing the last bag from the trunk and slamming it shut as Kez pulled open the door to her Jaguar. "Gotta pick up some of Vic's friends. Try not to cause any trouble." Lewis nods, leaning down to her window as she started the car back up. "Since you're there, pick up Miles and Daniel for me."
"Those two big bitches ain't gon' fit in my car," Kez deadpanned.
"Take your dad's then," he retorts, pulling open the door. She groaned, stepping out, "fine. Dad, give your keys!" Jae nods, pulling them out of his trousers and tossing them to her before heading into the house. She caught them easily, unlocking the doors to his car. "Make sure JhenΓ© doesn't kill Daniel, okay? I forgot to mention she would be here too."
"How do you just forget to mention his ex girlfriend will be in the same house for a whole weekend?" Keziyah deadpanned, and Lewis pursed his lips awkwardly. "...it slipped my mind?"
"You're the worst friend," she cackled, starting up the car as he stepped away so she could pull out. "I'm doing him a favour," he mumbled, walking towards the front door. He stepped inside and shut the door before kicking off his shoes. The parents were in the kitchen talking it up, the two kids in the room playing with Legos, and Vic and Nashe were sitting in the living room talking whilst John tried to figure out how to work the TV.
"You need some help with that?" Lewis questioned, leaning against the sofa where Vic sat, sipping on some champagne.
"I don't need your help," John stated stubbornly, reaching for the manual on the stand below the mounted TV. "Are you sure? I didn't know you suddenly learned how to speak Xhosa overnight," Lewis retorts sarcastically, knowing entirely well that the manual was in Xhosa. "John, just let him show you how to do it," Vic input.
"Fine." John muttered, tossing the manual back where it was and handing Lewis the remote. "Let me guess, you're a football fan?" Lewis pondered, easily switching on the TV and changing the system to English. "Is that supposed to be an insult?" John scoffs. "Why would that be an insult? I literally own part of Broncos," Lewis snorts, sitting down next to Tinashe as he flipped through the sports channels.
He went to put on the LV Aces game but one look from Tinashe and he put on that football game instead. "That's what I thought," she mumbled before turning back to Victoria so they could keep talking. "Possessive much?" He mumbled under his breath, tone filled with sarcasm.
"I know you didn't just put the straightest sport ever on my TV," Kaylen expressed, leaning up against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. "It's Kezie's TV," Lewis argued. "That I bought for her!" He exclaimed, going to get the spare remote on the stand. "Because you broke the first one she bought," Lewis stated, completely baffled by his Kaylen logic.
"That was an accident! How was I supposed to know you weren't supposed to throw the remote during bowling?" Kaylen defended, switching the football game to the LV Aces game. It obviously wasn't live because the season hadn't started yet, but it was a replay of a game from last year. "How about we just turn the TV off?" Tinashe proposed, glaring at the screen.
"I'mma go check on Hazel," John muttered, getting up from his spot next to Vic. "Try to be a little quiet when you do. Kaidyn is non-verbal and sensitive to loud sounds," Victoria informed, and he just gave a slight nod before leaving the living room. "Thank God. I can hug you now," Kaylen grinned, and Vic smiled, getting up and running over to hug him as Tinashe was trying to grab the remote from Lewis so she could turn the TV off.
Keziyah tapped the steering wheel boredly as she waited for Miles and Daniel. She already had the women in the car, so they were just waiting up on the boys. Of course...the women didn't know it was gonna be Miles and Daniel. Kez just said it was some of Lewis's friends so they shrugged it off, not thinking too much into it. "You still single?" Merida asked, turning the music down just a bit.
"Mer, you can't just ask someone that," JhenΓ© scolded towards Merida who was sitting in the passengers seat. "Yes, I can. It's an honest question," she defended. Kez hummed under her breath, nodding slightly, "still single, yeah. By choice." Mer nodded, pursing her lips as she pondered it. "Yeah, I get that. Keeping your options open is good. Very mindful."
"How's Sean doing?" Kez asked towards JhenΓ©, aware she was still with him after all these years. Even had a baby boy with him. "Uhh, he's doing fine, just watching our son," JhenΓ© answered. "I was trying to get in contact with him for the album but he wasn't answering so.." Kez trailed off, shrugging her shoulder carelessly. "He should be focused on putting a ring on her finger," Candice comments, Mer nodding in agreement.
"Almost a decade with him and his dumbass still ain't do it," Merida muttered bitterly.
Kez perked up upon noticing Miles and Daniel approaching her car. JhenΓ© glanced to her left, her face falling at the sight of her ex. "W-Why is Danny here?" Merida turned real quick, gasping at the men who still hadn't even noticed them. "He's a friend of Lewis." Kez explained shortly, hitting a button to pop open the trunk. Miles pulled it open, "lazy bruv made you pick us up?"
"Are we surprised?" Kez snorts.
"Not one bit," Daniel laughed, still not noticing JhenΓ© because of the luggage all stacked up. They packed up the car and Daniel pulled the backseat door open, his eyes widening when he made eye contact with JhenΓ©. "Is this a set up?" He questioned Kez. "No. I don't care enough about your love life to do that," Kez shrugged, receiving an eye roll from him.
He pulled the seat down for Miles to get in the other open seat in the back. After that, he pulled it back up and climbed inside, sitting right beside JhenΓ© who was now stuck in the middle. Merida slid down in her seat to avoid being seen by Miles because she just got off a long ass flight and felt like a mess. Luckily, he hadn't noticed her yet and she wasn't about to try and get his attention either. "Ready to go?" Kez smirked, glancing in the mirror.
"I'm gonna kill Lewis," Danny muttered.
"..and I'm gonna kill Victoria," Merida added under her breath.
Lewis walked back into the living room after helping with the decorations outside, noticing Tinashe sitting on the couch watching a show on the TV.Β "Where's Victoria?" He asked. "She went upstairs to freshen up," Tinashe answered. He nods, quickly going upstairs because John was still outside with the rest of the family.
He knocked on her door and after a few seconds, she answered it, robe pulled around her body. "Did you need something?"
"Yes. I wanna know why you've been avoiding me." Lewis spoke, entering the room before she closed the door. "Lewis..what happened was an accident," she responded. "An accident? So what? My mouth just happened to fall in between your legs?" He retorts sarcastically, crossing his arms over his chest.
"I was in a vulnerable position, and it wasn't your fault, but I don't intend for it to happen again. Can we just be friends? For the sake of Hazel?" His eyes fell with an understanding warmth in them and he took her hands into his. "I'm good with friends, as long as it means I get to have you and your daughter in my life." He agreed. She smiled softly, giving his hands a squeeze, "thank you for understanding."
"Of course. I'll leave you to it." Lewis smiled, pressing a kiss to her cheek before pulling the open to step out and give her privacy.
Ascending down the stairs, he nearly toppled over when Merida ran past him as if she was being chased in a horror movie. It all made sense when he noticed his friend Miles standing near the entrance way into the living room, a confused look on his face. "Am I hallucinating or was that Merida Maharaj? The model?" Lewis pursed his lips, glancing up the stairs where she had ran and back to Miles, "yeah, I don't know any other model with platinum blonde hair."
"Lewis, I am going to kill you!"
"Victoria, I am going to kill you!"
His eyes widened seeing both Daniel and JhenΓ© storming into the living room in search for the two. "She's upstairs, third door on the right," he stammered out nervously. JhenΓ© gave him a tight smile before running upstairs to find her friend, Candice going after her to play peacemaker when she attempted murder.
"You are a monster. Who's idea was this?" Daniel demanded to know, shooting him the harshest glare. "I had no idea she would be here, I swear," Lewis explained apologetically, even though he wasn't exactly too upset at the idea because he actually loved when they were together. JhenΓ© made Daniel such a better person...and she also made the best vegan food so that had been a plus for Lewis. He was probably more disappointed with the breakup than they were.
"Is this really a bad thing? You guys were quite good together," Miles comments, plopping down on the couch, sighing gleefully at how comfortable it was. "I hate all of you. Where does Kez keep the liquor?" Daniel set his bags at the end of the staircase as Lewis pointed to the bar outside. He sighed in relief, going outside and towards the little bar to retrieve himself a glass of much needed tequila.
"I can't help but notice the lack of children for a kids birthday?" Miles pondered.
"I could invite some..but I doubt those two would get along with them seeing as they're so content in their little bubble," Kez shrugged, climbing over the couch and onto Nashe who chuckled, leaning up to kiss her. "I find their bond adorable," Lewis comments, taking a seat next to a slightly confused Miles. "Is there something I'm missing? I thought Kai didn't get along with other kids."
"He doesn't, but Hazel seems to adjust to his personality quite well. It's a bond we'll probably never understand, but still cute nonetheless." Kez replied knowingly, pulling Nashe into her arms and wrapping a blanket over her to provide extra warmth.
"This is gonna be one chaotic ass birthday weekend," Lewis breathed out.
