Sasha LaRusso stepped into the low-lit bar in Barcelona, the warm glow of pendant lights reflecting off the polished wood counters. The air smelled of aged liquor, and soft music played in the background, blending with the hum of quiet conversations. She tugged her jacket tighter around her, eyes scanning the crowd for Kwon. He was late.
Her gaze shifted toward the bar, and that's when she saw him-Robby.
He sat alone at the far end, shoulders hunched, elbows propped on the counter with a glass half-filled with something amber in front of him. His fingers curled loosely around the drink, thumb running along the rim, lost in thought. He wasn't even drinking it-just staring into it.
Sasha felt her chest tighten. Robby didn't drink. He never had. At least, not since she'd known him.
Something was wrong.
Without hesitation, she crossed the room, her boots tapping lightly against the wooden floor as she approached. Sliding onto the stool beside him, she rested her elbows on the bar and gave him a sideways glance.
"Hey," she said softly.
Robby blinked and turned, clearly surprised to see her. His expression shifted, quickly masking whatever storm was raging behind his eyes.
"Sasha," he muttered, voice rough but quiet. He nodded at her, but his gaze quickly returned to the glass in front of him.
She frowned. "You never drink. Ever. What's going on?"
Robby exhaled, a dry, humorless chuckle escaping his lips as he shook his head. "It's nothing. Don't worry about it."
"Robby." Her voice sharpened, eyes narrowing.
Silence stretched between them. His grip on the glass tightened.
Sasha sighed, folding her arms across her chest. "This is about Tory, isn't it?"
Robby stiffened, his jaw clenching. His silence was confirmation enough.
Sasha softened her tone, leaning in a bit closer. "I know she rejoined Cobra Kai for the Sekai Taikai. I know she broke up with you because she needed space to figure things out. But you were doing okay... what changed?"
Robby's shoulders sagged slightly, the weight of her words pressing down on him. He shook his head, swallowing hard before finally speaking.
"I thought she was figuring it out. I thought she'd come around eventually. But..." He finally looked at her, pain clouding his dark eyes. "She's all in now. Training harder than ever. She keeps saying it's for her mom, but it's more than that now. It's like... it's the only thing keeping her together. And she won't let me help her."
Sasha nodded, understanding all too well how much it hurt to feel shut out by someone you cared about.
"You're not the enemy, Robby," she said gently. "But Tory's stubborn. You know that better than anyone. She's just... scared. Of losing control. Of losing her mom. Maybe even of losing you too. But she has to work through it herself."
Robby shook his head, voice thick with frustration. "I just-I don't get it. I thought we were past this. I thought-" He stopped, exhaling sharply. His hand raked through his hair, voice dropping to a whisper. "I just don't know if she even needs me anymore."
Sasha's heart ached for him. She rested her hand lightly on his forearm, grounding him. "She needs you, Robby. But you can't carry her battles for her. You've done everything you could. And you can't lose yourself because of it."
Robby nodded, but there was still so much weight behind his expression, like her words only scratched the surface of what he was feeling.
Before she could say more, the bar door swung open with a soft creak. Sasha instinctively glanced toward the entrance-and there he was.
Kwon.
Tall, dark-haired, and effortlessly confident, he scanned the bar before spotting her. When their eyes met, he flashed that charming, easy grin she had once found cute but now just felt... off.
She exhaled, giving Robby a small, lingering look. "I have to go. But... be careful, okay? Don't do something stupid just because you're hurting."
Robby offered a weak nod, his expression guarded again. "Yeah. Thanks, Sasha."
Rising from her seat, she headed toward Kwon, her heart still heavy from the conversation.
As she reached him, Kwon's grin widened. "Hey, beautiful. Thought you ditched me."
Sasha forced a smile, tilting her head. "You're late."
Kwon shrugged, sliding a hand lightly around her waist. "Worth the wait, right?"
She raised an eyebrow, gently slipping out of his hold as they walked toward the door. "So... where exactly are we going tonight?"
Kwon smirked but didn't answer right away. "It's a surprise. You'll love it, trust me."
That same uneasy feeling lingered in her stomach. But for now, she let it go, shooting one last glance toward Robby as they left the bar.
He was still sitting there, staring at the glass like it held all the answers he couldn't find.

The sun had fully set, casting the streets of Barcelona in a golden haze, the streetlamps glowing like tiny orbs against the deep indigo sky. The scent of warm bread and spices lingered in the air from the open cafes, and the sound of distant guitar music drifted through the narrow alleyways as Sasha followed Kwon deeper into the heart of the city.
She stayed a step behind him, her hands tucked into the pockets of her light denim jacket, clutching the fabric like it was the only thing keeping her grounded. The uneven cobblestones made her steps cautious, but it wasn't just the unfamiliar terrain that made her heart race.
It was him.
Kwon walked with that effortless, laid-back confidence that seemed so foreign to her-the slight swagger in his step, the way his leather jacket hung loosely from his frame, his hands tucked in his pockets like he owned the night. The city seemed to fit him perfectly. Bold. Reckless. Unpredictable.
Sasha, on the other hand, felt like she stuck out. Nervous. Careful. Exactly the way her parents had raised her to be.
"You good back there, LaRusso?" Kwon's voice broke through her thoughts, echoing as he glanced back at her with a smirk.
"I'm fine," she replied quickly, forcing a small smile and picking up her pace.
Kwon's smirk widened, but he didn't say anything. Not yet.
The streets had narrowed, twisting into more secluded alleyways strung with delicate lights overhead. There were fewer crowds now, just the occasional couple sharing a quiet laugh or a waiter stacking chairs outside a cafรฉ. It felt...calmer here. Intimate.
And Sasha wasn't sure if that made her more or less nervous.
Kwon finally stopped at a small stone overlook that opened up to the city below. The lights of Barcelona stretched endlessly, golden windows and glowing rooftops shimmering under the starlit sky. The view was breathtaking, and for a second, Sasha forgot her nerves, leaning against the railing with a quiet exhale.
"Okay, wow," she whispered.
Kwon tilted his head toward her, smirking slightly. "Told you. The tourists don't know about this spot."
She smiled softly, letting herself admire the city a moment longer. The tension in her chest loosened just a bit.
But then she felt his eyes on her.
Not on the view. Not on the lights. On her.
Her pulse kicked up again, and she shifted her weight, suddenly hyperaware of how close he was standing. Just enough that their arms brushed lightly, the leather of his jacket cool against her skin.
"You're nervous," he said, voice low and teasing, breaking the silence.
Sasha blinked, turning toward him, eyebrows furrowing. "What? No, I'm not-"
Kwon arched a brow, clearly unconvinced. "You've been tense since we left the bar. Flinching every time I get too close. What's up with you?"
Sasha's lips parted, but the words caught. How was she supposed to explain it? That he was the reason she felt this way? That everything about this-wandering around the city late at night with a guy like him-was so far out of her comfort zone, it made her stomach twist?
Instead, she settled on, "It's just...I'm not used to all this."
"All what?"
She gestured vaguely around them. "This whole...staying out late in another country thing. My dad would flip if he knew I was out here right now."
Kwon chuckled under his breath, his smirk deepening. "Yeah? Well, good thing he's not here, huh?"
Her stomach twisted again-this time for a different reason. She bit her lip, avoiding his gaze.
There was a beat of silence, the only sound the distant music from the streets below. Then Kwon shifted closer.
"Hey," he said, voice softer now but still teasing. "Look at me."
She did. And instantly regretted it.
The way he looked at her-his dark eyes half-lidded, a crooked grin on his face-made her breath catch in her throat. His gaze was so steady, so sure, like he could see right through every carefully placed wall she'd built around herself.
"You're nervous," he repeated, this time more of a whisper.
Sasha shook her head, heat rising to her cheeks. "I-no, I'm-"
"Yeah, you are," he said, leaning in just a fraction closer, their faces only inches apart now. "Good girl like you? Probably has a curfew. Does everything by the book, right?"
Her brows furrowed, and she opened her mouth to protest, but before she could, Kwon smirked.
"Prove me wrong."
And then, without warning, he kissed her.
Sasha froze.
His hand brushed her jaw, gentle but firm, tilting her face up just slightly as his lips pressed against hers-slow and deliberate, like he was giving her the chance to pull away. But she didn't.
Her heart pounded in her chest, hands instinctively clutching the front of his jacket as the kiss deepened just for a moment before he pulled back.
His face hovered close, his breath warm against her skin as he whispered, "You're flustered, LaRusso."
Sasha blinked, her breath shallow, pulse still racing as the reality of what just happened sank in.
"I-I am not flustered," she stammered, voice cracking slightly.
Kwon just grinned. "You totally are."
Her face burned. She shoved his shoulder lightly, trying to regain some sense of composure, but all it did was make him chuckle.
"You're cute when you're flustered," he murmured, then nodded toward the next alleyway. "C'mon. I'm not done showing you around yet."
Sasha hesitated, still recovering, but after a moment, she let out a breath and followed.
And as much as she hated to admit it...he was absolutely right.
She was flustered.

They continued walking, the narrow streets gradually opening into a wide plaza bathed in golden light. The chatter of tourists and locals blended with the sounds of a nearby guitarist playing a soft melody. Kwon led Sasha through the crowd with easy confidence, his hand brushing against hers occasionally, sending an electric current up her arm each time.
Sasha was still reeling from that kiss. Her lips tingled, her heart hadn't quite slowed down, and every time he glanced back at her with that smug half-smile, it only made her more flustered. She refused to let him know how much he was getting under her skin.
But then, as they turned a corner, the sight before her stole her breath.
La Sagrada Famรญlia.
The towering basilica loomed against the night sky, its intricate stonework glowing under the soft illumination of floodlights. The delicate carvings of saints and biblical figures stretched impossibly high, the spires touching the sky like something out of a dream. Its reflection shimmered in a nearby pond, the water perfectly still.
"Wow..." Sasha whispered, slowing her steps as she took it all in.
Kwon stopped too, glancing over at the cathedral but mostly watching her. The way her eyes widened in wonder, lips slightly parted, caught in a moment of pure awe.
"Yeah," he murmured, though he wasn't talking about the basilica.
She turned to him, oblivious to the way he was looking at her. "It's...beautiful. I've only ever seen it in pictures."
"Better in person, huh?"
Sasha nodded, still absorbing the breathtaking view.
Kwon shifted closer, standing beside her now, both of them staring up at the masterpiece before them. His voice was softer when he spoke again. "They say it's been under construction for, like, a hundred years. Some of the towers aren't even finished yet."
"Really?" Sasha asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Yeah." He shrugged, leaning slightly against the stone railing. "Kinda cool though. Even when it's not finished, it's still..."
"Perfect," she finished, her gaze drifting back up the spires.
They fell into a comfortable silence. The night air was cool but not cold, and the plaza was calm despite the distant hum of the city. Sasha felt like she could stay in this moment forever-the beauty of the basilica, the warm glow of the city, the way Kwon hadn't once teased her since they arrived here.
And then, because he was Kwon, that teasing spark returned.
"You gonna admit you're still flustered? Or do I have to kiss you again to prove it?"
Sasha's head snapped toward him, her cheeks instantly burning. "I-I am not flustered!"
Kwon grinned, leaning just a fraction closer. "You're blushing, LaRusso."
"I'm not!"
"You so are."
"Would you stop-"
Before she could finish, he brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, his fingers grazing her skin. The move was so gentle, so unexpected, that her breath caught.
"Relax," he said, voice lower now, teasing but softer than before. "You don't have to be nervous around me."
Sasha swallowed hard, unsure if she felt more nervous or...something else entirely.
"Let's keep walking," she muttered, quickly turning back toward the plaza.
Kwon chuckled under his breath but didn't push her further. He just followed, his hand brushing hers again as they continued their stroll through the heart of Barcelona.
And even though she didn't admit it-Sasha was still flustered.
The streets of Barcelona were quieter now, the city settling into a calm hum as the night deepened. The glow of streetlights cast long shadows across the cobblestones, and the air was warm but crisp, carrying the scent of flowers from a nearby vendor closing up shop.
Sasha walked beside Kwon, their hands brushing every few steps but never quite intertwining. Her cheeks were still warm from earlier, and she felt lighter than she had in days. The tension of the Sekai Taikai, the stress back home-it all felt a little further away tonight.
"Tonight was... really nice," Sasha said softly, breaking the comfortable silence. She glanced over at him, offering a small, genuine smile. "I didn't expect to have this much fun, honestly."
Kwon smirked. "Yeah? Was it the kiss that made it great, or my amazing tour guide skills?"
Sasha rolled her eyes, but the blush betrayed her. "Don't ruin it."
They both laughed, the sound echoing gently in the quiet streets.
But then, just as they rounded the corner toward their hotel, Sasha's smile froze.
There, standing beneath the grand hotel entrance, was Sam. And not just Sam-Sam with Axel.
Axel. A fighter from the German team. Tall, blonde, smirking way too much as he leaned closer to Sam, who was laughing softly at something he said.
Sasha blinked, her steps slowing. Her sister wasn't just talking to him-she looked comfortable. Flushed cheeks, sparkling eyes. That kind of comfortable.
"What the-?" Sasha muttered, eyebrows furrowing.
Kwon noticed immediately. "Who's that?"
"My sister." Sasha narrowed her eyes, then, with zero hesitation, marched toward Sam.
"Sam!"
Sam's head snapped up, her expression dropping instantly. "Sasha?"
Axel gave a lazy smile and waved. "Hey."
Sasha ignored him, folding her arms tightly. "What's going on here? What are you doing with him?" She gestured between them, her voice sharper now.
Sam blinked, looking startled before her face hardened defensively. "I could ask you the same thing. What are you doing with him?" She nodded pointedly at Kwon.
Sasha scowled. "That's different! He's-"
"Oh, really? Because last time I checked, he's from another team too, so don't get all judgy with me."
"That's not-" Sasha took a sharp breath. "Miguel-"
Sam's expression flashed with something-guilt, hurt, maybe both-but she masked it with an eye roll. "Miguel and I are fine. And we were just talking, okay?"
"Right," Sasha said sarcastically, glaring at Axel, who just shrugged, clearly enjoying the drama.
Sam's voice dropped lower, more serious. "You know, maybe you should stop worrying about me and focus on yourself. You're not exactly innocent here, Sasha."
Sasha's jaw tightened, her voice rising. "You cheated before, Sam! Are you doing it again?"
Sam's eyes flared, stepping closer. "Excuse me?! You don't know anything about what's going on with me and Miguel!"
"And you don't know anything about me and Kwon!" Sasha shot back, her face burning now.
The tension was thick enough to cut. Both sisters were squared off, neither backing down, voices echoing in the quiet. A few people outside the hotel were starting to stare.
"Okay-okay, enough," Kwon finally stepped between them, gently but firmly placing a hand on Sasha's shoulder, easing her back. "Not the time or place, LaRusso."
Sasha's breath caught, still furious but the way Kwon said her name-low, calm, and in control-made her falter.
Sam huffed, crossing her arms but no longer shouting.
Sasha's voice was still tight but quieter. "We'll talk about this later."
"Yeah," Sam muttered. "We will."
Kwon guided Sasha away, his hand lingering just a little longer on her back as they crossed the lobby.
Sasha's heart was still pounding, her fists clenched as they approached the elevator.
"Hey." Kwon's voice was softer now, glancing sideways at her. "You good?"
Sasha swallowed hard, her chest tight with frustration. "I just- I can't believe her."
Kwon gave a small smirk. "You two are... intense."
"She makes me crazy sometimes," Sasha muttered, running a hand through her hair.
"Well, you made her crazy too back there," he teased.
Sasha shot him a glare, but there was no real heat behind it. The elevator dinged, and as the doors opened, Kwon just shrugged.
"Hey, for what it's worth... I kinda like you crazy."
Sasha's face flamed again, and she shoved his arm playfully.
"Shut up, Kwon."
But she was definitely still flustered.
