"When should we go see Miguel?" Kody asked as him and Hawk warmed up at Cobra Kai. "You know, since he's risen from the dead."

"A coma isn't dead, Kody." he said back with a knowing look.

"It's pretty much dead." he shrugged in return.

"Soon. We just need to make sure Sensei Kreese know we're fully on his side first." the red haired boy said back with a nod of his head.

"Class." Speak of the devil. Kreese walked from the office, his hands behind his back. "You worked hard today. So, because you're dismissed, I have a little treat for ya. I wanna introduce you to a friend of mine."

Pulling his hands from behind his back, a little mouse was in his palm. Kody smiled. "Awwww."

Hawk elbowed him in embarrassment while everyone laughed.

"What's its name?" Bert asked.

"I don't know." Kreese said back, looking around. "What should it be?"

"Hawk Junior." Hawk spoke confidently.

"Koala 2.0" Kody argued.

"Hawala." Hawk said back quickly.

"Yeah, Hawala." Kody nodded.

Kreese chuckled. "Bert, what do you think?"

"Um-" Bert started, Kody slapped the back of his head. "I like Hawala too."

"Okay, Hawala." Kreese nodded his head. "Good. Here, take him."

Bert took him into his hands. "He's so cute, guys."

The class laughed at Bert slightly, Kody waved at the mouse from over Berts shoulder. Kreese nodded. "You know, it's almost lunchtime."

"Ooh, can I feed him?" Bert asked hopefully.

"No. But, you can feed him." Kreese answered, yanking the sheet off the cage with a large snake inside. Even Kody was smart enough to know what it meant, his face fell.

Bert swollowed. "What does he like to eat?"

"He likes to eat...Hawala." Kreese nodded, senses Berts hesitation. "It's okay, come on. Come on."

Bert walked forward slowly, Kreese opened the cage door. Bert shook his head, backing up. "I can't."

Kreese grinned. "It's okay. Hawala is your friend. It's okay to object. Who else objects?"

Kody went to raise his hand, but Hawk latched onto his tightly, meeting his eye with a knowing shake of his head.

Half the class rose their hands while Hawks and Kodys stayed locked together. Kreese nodded. "You're off the team. Get out!"

"But-" Bert went to object.

"I said out! Get!" Kreese yelled, Hawk and Kody shared a faint look as half the class left. Kody turned his head away when Kreese dropped the mouse into the cage.

"Did you hear they caught Robby?" Kody asked as him and Hawk drove to the hospital the next morning before school. "He's in jail now."

"Serves him right." Hawk scoffed slightly, finding a parking space. "Guess our little plan didn't get to go into motion."

"Yeah, I still feel bad for Alaska though." Kody said honestly as he got out, fixing the collar of his flannel. "She was really freaked out after that happened last year. I don't think she ever fully recovered from it."

"What even happened to her?" Hawk questioned as they waited for a car to pass.

"Robby and his friends robbed her and yanked her belly button ring out." he shook his head. "It was really bad. She...got really bad off after that."

"Like, how?" Hawk shrugged as they found the elevators.

Kody hesitated. "It's whatever."

"So, is that why you guys broke up?" Hawk asked curiously.

"Kinda, I guess. We broke up because I just wasn't really good for her." Kody explained with a shake of his head. "Stuff she was going through after just didn't mix well with me."

"That sucks." Hawk shrugged.

"Yeah, but, we still get to be friends." he pointed out, the elevator doors shut as they leaned against the wall together. "I bet she's relieved about Robby."

"You haven't talked to her?" he looked over in disbelief.

"No, i've been busy with you, and Kreese, now Miguel." Kody listed on. "My mom even got mad at me this morning because I haven't been coming in to help her at the salon. It was this massive fight."

"You don't wanna look like a pussy though." the red haired boy pointed out in rerun. "Working at a hair salon-"

"Would definitely make me look like a pussy." Kody agreed, the pair shared a light grin. "It's whatever, she can find someone else to help her."

"Kreese said some good stuff about you when I talked to him after class." Hawk spoke, pulling Kody by his wrist when the elevator opened. "He said you really take after your dad, i'm guessing that's a pretty good thing."

"My dad doesn't know Johnny isn't teaching me anymore." Kody flushed in the face. "I'm really hoping he doesn't find out. It was hard enough getting him on board at all."

"You can always just sneak." Hawk shrugged.

"I could always just sneak." Kody agreed. "It was kinda harsh what happened to Hawala though."

"Yeah, but it's probably just testing our weakness." he shrugged in rerun, their hands brushed as they walked. "Do you think you have one?"

"Probably." he nodded. "What about you?"

"Yeah, I think I do." Hawk said honestly with an exhale.

"Well, what is it?" the brunette went on to question. Hawk opened his mouth before Kody smiled. "I found his room!"

Hawk gapped with a laugh. "Holy shit, how'd you know?"

"The food channel." Kody tapped on the side of his head with a wink. "It knows."

"El Serpiente!" Hawk grinned as he walked around the corner, the two froze at the sight of Sam standing by his bed.

"I'm gonna go." Sam whispered to Miguel, getting a nod as she headed out. Kody eyed her before walking into Miguel's room, leaving Hawk with Sam for a second.

"The Walking Dead, baby!" Kody grinned from ear to ear as he sat next to Miguel. "Can't believe you alived yourself again."

"Can't believe you've kept the fort held down without me." Miguel said back with a smile. "Miss me?"

"Duh, every second." the boy said back, Hawk walking in. "And the fort is handled, I'm nominated as king now."

"He wishes." Hawk grabbed Kodys shoulders, taller now that he was sat down. "How's it going, man? I like the spot."

Miguel laughed slightly. "It's not so bad."

"Any hot nurses?" Kody went on with a questionable look.

"Kody found your room without even trying." Hawk smiled, shaking his head as he wrapped an arm around the boy. "He's kinda genius."

"It's true. I got all your brains when you died." the O'Dell boy nodded his head with a grin.

"Are you freaking kidding me? You're helping that psycho!" Kody was loosing his shit when he over heard his dad on the phone with Bobby. "He doesn't deserve it."

"All we're doing is giving Johnny a chance to go see his son." Jimmy shook his head, taken back by all this  anger. "What's gotten into you?"

"Robby doesn't deserve to have visitors. What about Alaska and Miguel!" he shouted, Dotti over hearing it from the garage and walking in.

"Kody, i'm not gonna turn down an opportunity to help a father see his son." Jimmy said back with a weird look. "What if that was you?"

"That would never be me. Because i'm not an asshole that hurts woman and tries to commit murder." Kody said back with a glare. "I can't believe you'd help someone like that."

"I'm not helping him, i'm helping Johnny!" Jimmy defended himself with a slight raise of his tone. "You need to knock it off. First you yell at your mom and now me? It's ridiculous."

"Yeah, well, at least i'm not looking for  some charity case to make myself feel better about myself." Kody mocked, but the second he said it, it hurt him.

"Excuse me!" Jimmy gapped at him. "I don't know who you think you are, but the way you have been acting recently is not gonna fly, dude. I told you that stupid Cobra Kai was gonna mess with your head."

"Oh, okay." Kody grabbed his keys. "I'll just get outta your hair then."

"Kody, you know that's not what I meant!" Jimmy called for him as he headed for the door. "I'm trying to help you!"

But he was ignore, having the door slammed while Dotti cried and went to her room. Kody left, because he knew they didn't understand, and no matter how ridiculous he was acting, and no matter how true of what his dad said was, he had a voice in his head telling him he was in the right.

And that voice was Kreeses.
