"I've got pale skin." Kody looked over in disbelief as he started to argue about the amount of sunscreen he was lathering on. "You want me to burn and develop sun cancer?"
"You mean skin cancer?" Demetri corrected him.
"Yeah, and you're missing every single part of your body." Hawk huffed as he walked over, leaving Demetri at the volleyball net. "Give that to me."
"Do it good. I've got pale skin." Kody repeated himself, tossing the sunscreen tube over his shoulder. "Really put your back into it."
Hawk rubbed his hands, rubbing the sunblock onto the parts of his shoulders and back he was missing. Kody flinched. "Ow."
"You said to put my back into it." he argued from behind him, but loosening his grip when rubbing around his spin. "Do you have scoliosis?"
"What?" Kody spoke up with a crazy look over his shoulder. "The spin thing?"
"Your back has a weird feeling." the blue haired boy said, pressing his hand harder into his back. "Oh, no, I was wrong. That's just your ribs."
"Why would you do that to me?" Kody turned with a look of disbelief. "I thought you were about to diagnose me."
"I can't diagnose you without a doctors degree, genius." Hawk rolled his eyes, spreading the sunscreen on his fingers to rub it into Kodys face.
"Cobra Kai? You guys won that karate tournament, right?" a girls voice rung, making Hawk look over. Kody winced when his finger jabbed into his eye, the sunblock making it worse.
"Ow!" Kody slapped his chest, holding his eye.
"The All Valley? The Rumble in Reseda?" Demetri went on in shock, clearly that girls had been talking to him. "Yes, uh, We, uh...we certainly did."
"Cool." the girl in orange smiled. "We're gonna go for a swim, but maybe play with you later?"
"Pfft, most def." Demetri tried to be subtle as the girls smiled. "That means most definitely."
The two giggled, walking off. Kody walked over to steal the towel for his eye while Moon laugh. "Look at you, player."
"Yeah, it's be nice if you earned the Cobra Lai cred you're so happy to take." Hawk mocked Demetri in annoyance. "When are you ever gonna sign up?"
"I don't know. I'm kind of enjoying the gain with the pain." the dark haired boy laughed in return.
"Kody?" Hawk asked him. "Thought about I said?"
The brunette looked over oddly. "That I elbowed you in my sleep?"
Hawk rolled his eyes. "No, about signing up but not telling your parents"
"Oh, that." Kody giggled as he recalled the memory. "It's a I don't know yet."
"You honestly think they're gonna find out?" he asked in disbelief, looking down when Kody fell into the chair.
"You know when parents say they have eyes in the back of their head?" the O'Dell boy looked up with a squint from the sun, pushing on the heart shaped sunglasses. "Mine actually do."
"Hawk." Miguel spoke up as he walked over, taking the conversation off Kody.
"Hey, there's the man." the blue haired boy hurried his way.
"Demetri." Kody spoke up from the chair. "Is scoliosis contagious?"
"What? No." he shook his head in disbelief. "You don't have scoliosis."
"But my third cousin does." Kody pointed out, sitting up in the chair more. "What if he gave it to me?"
"Kody, it's not contagious." Demetri argued.
"Aw, it's cute." Moon scolded Demetri when Kody tuned out and was flipping through the magazine he brought. "He's so clueless."
"He's brainless." Demetri shook his head. "He's lucky he's got the looks."
"He does have the looks." Moon gave a knowing point.
"Himbo." Demetri remarked, attempting to throw the volleyball again, failing just as he had before.
"What've you got there?" Demetri asked as Kody found him and Moon in the crowd, taking notice of the large stuffed panda he was carrying.
"Diet coke." he held up the drink in hand. "You want some?"
"Where'd you win this?" Moon nodded to the panda. "And how much money did you give for it."
"The one where you have to spray the little clown thing." Kody tried to think of the name. "I've got perfect aim, Moon."
"He's cute." Demetri nodded.
Kody looked over his shoulder. "Who?"
"The panda!" he yelled back, tossing his hands up in disbelief.
"It's a she." Kody corrected him with an offended look. "God, you're so rude."
"How am I-" he started to argue, stopping as the trio of silhouettes bowed upon the stage. They positioned themselves, showing a balanced and calming hand gesture, starting to pick of the pace in the slightest. Their was a little cheer, the three bowing.
"Is there gonna be any fighting?" Moon asked honestly.
"I think so?" Demetris voice came out more of a question.
"These are such odd warm ups." Kody nodded his head as he watched. "I got to sit in on Cobra Kai's warm ups once. Two people splattered blood on me."
One of the trio had a large stick this time, waving it around in the slightest while the other two continued on with their techniques. The stick was swung at one of them, being blocked before doing it the same to the other, this time making him do a forward roll over it.
When they positioned back to normal, the crowd cheered for them slightly. Kody looked around. "Where's Hawk?"
"He said he'd be here soon." Demetri said back, the two watching Daniel LaRusso roll the six plates of ice onto the stage, the stage darkening as there was a shriek that went through the air.
"Cobra Kai!" A loud yell came from the back.
"Oh!" Kody slapped Demetris shoulder with a laugh, bouncing on his toes slightly. "Look, it looks like Hawk and Miguel."
"That is them." Demetri said back as they watched the two lead the two rows of Cobra Kai students, chanting the dojo name and taking over the other stage. Kody gave a loud cheer, clapping as he waved his panda around for them.
The group showed off extreme fighting skill, a lot faster and more interesting then Miyagi-Dos had been. Sparks flew around them, Kodys eyes lighting up as he watched them go high into the air. "Raining fire."
"Cobras, show them what real karate looks like!" Johnny Lawrence called from the other side of the stage.
Miguel stepped forward, kicking forward, a punch over the head. Hawk did the same, a little rougher and quicker then Miguel had been though. Kody cheered. "Yeah, beat him, Hawk!"
Aisha broke through three boards, blindfolded but getting each one. Hawk walked over, reaching down and pulling Demetri up by the shirt. Kody giggled to Moon. "Like a mama lion."
Moon laughed. "That's what it looked like."
Demetri looked in shock as Hawk passed him the board, holding it out. He ran forward, bouncing off an out reached hand and kicking through the board with ease. Kody cheered loudly for him, Hawks face lit up at the crowd, looking down at him with a little grin.
Cobra Kai towels were being tossed into the crowd near the end, a few cinder blocks being stacked as the Cobra Kais back up, leaving room for their sensei to walk forward. "Cobras, light it up!"
With a spray of gasoline and a flame from the blow torch, the bricks were flames up. Kody looked in astonishment. "I didn't know concrete could set on fire."
His arms went high into the air as Johnny punched through the many rows of rock. "I didn't know that was possible either!"
The dojo bowed as the crowd cheered, slowly separating as Hawk found the trio. Kody grinned. "That was the coolest thing i've ever seen."
"You think so?" Hawk smiled, tossing an arm around him as he gave Moon a cheeky grin. "Feel like sneaking behind your parents back yet?"
"Um, yes." the O'Dell boy said back, passing him the panda. "Won that for you."
