( AIRILA MORNINGSTAR )

.·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ *̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ .

**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚"𝐈 𝐂𝐀𝐍'𝐓 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐃 the fact that i'm being forced to attend this - what is this again?" airila questioned father blackwood as she followed him throughout the halls of the academy she'd be staying at.

"the ch- church of night madame satan" faustus blackwood stuttered as he made sure that no one was in the way of the two and he led her to the performance hall. she had the power to kill him in a blink and the man was beyond nervous.

"it's airila, please do not call me madame satan" the girl requested, but the tone of her voice made it sound more like an order. she was her own person she had to remind herself sometimes, she didn't really have a name for herself away from her father.

the doors to the hall opened with a large bang as faustus walked through everyone pushing way for the girl to walk. nicholas and dorcas stood on the stage alongside zelda. sabrina, prudence on one side of the seats and agatha and dahlia on another. other witches and warlocks spread themselves out around but soon focused their attention on their headmaster.

"students and zelda. all gather" he yelled as a nervous glint could be seen in his eyes as the spawn of satan herself stood behind him patiently glancing around the room taking in her surroundings.

the girl let her eyes roam on the boy on the stage next to the red haired girl, she admitted he was gorgeous and she felt like she had seen him before. she knew she had seen him before, maybe with her father?

"airila morningstar has graciously accepted to attend the academy, under her fa- the dark lords wishes. and she will be treated with the utmost respect and have her every need treated to. am i understood?" father blackwood questioned everyone in the hall knowing there'd be no disagreements.

some mouths hung open as everyone stared at airila in shock and some mixed with curiosity and fear. no one would be stupid enough to think to even get close to the girl, knowing she would be able to kill you with the click of her tongue. but knowing airila she wouldn't even let your soul rest but instead rather travel the earth for years in misery.

father blackwood bowed to the girl behind him before rushing out not wanting to see how the scene would play out. no one dared make a move as she stood in the middle of the room with a bored look.

"continue whatever you were doing then, for lucifer's sake" she scoffed before walking of to the front row of the benches and taking a seat next to a blonde. sabrina.

she already knew what sabrina looked like, she looked more like her father than she did and for some reason that angered airila. first she was taking her throne, and what next? her father.  he was all she had left for hells sake.

――――

"you're jealous, aren't you?" airila asked cockily as she turned to the blonde girl beside her, sabrina, the smaller girl turning to her with a still face not showing any emotion.

"last year, i played kim in bye bye birdie at baxter high. i'm fine" the girl said a matter a factly. airila noticed how the blonde didn't seem nervous to talk to her, but acted as if she had known her for most of her life. maybe it was a devils spawn thing.

"i heard you broke up with a mortal to be with him" airila said confused as she pointed at the boy on the stage. she could tell why she would, the boy was hypnotisingingly gorgeous. he smelt of lust though.

"no, i broke up with harvey because..." she countered in resilience before stopping herself not knowing why she did "i don't even know how you knew that but either ways it's none of your business" sabrina finished giving the girl a weird look.

"you're one brave little witch aren't you?" airila smirked in amusement at the girls flustered state. she knew sabrina didn't know they were related and this meant she really wasn't scared of her.

"you just don't scare me. neither does your father" our father airila thought to herself "as for nick, he's... he's" she started.

"a gorgeous sexy friend" airila finished for her as sabrina shot her head towards the girl at the words she used to describe him. "just the truth, spellman" she shrugged.

"we've all heard that refrain. but come on, sabrina. in the dark, late at night, between the sheets of your virgin's bed, are you telling me you've never had the odd, stray thought about him? i know i would" she taunted as she could tell she was getting under the girls skin.

she noticed sabrina swallow as she kept her eyes forward "imagining him slipping through the window? between your legs?" she said before she was cut off by the girl.

"ew! you're like one of my aunt hilda's bad harlequin romance novels" the girl said as she turned to face airilia with a grim look finding the girl kind of funny but not wanting to admit it.

"lust isn't a sin, sabrina. it's an emotion" airila said in honesty as she leaned her arm against the back of the bench.

"i can't memorise my lines with you whispering in my ear, like..." she struggled to find her words as she complained "like..." she repeated before getting up and walking away.

airila stared at the spellman girl walk onto the stage well she crossed her arms and legs where she sat. she then turned her attention to the redhead next to the nick boy. them reading out their lines to the play about the darklord. she could see sabrina staring at them with judgemental eyes.

"she's terrible" airila muttered to herself watching the redhead, she may have been beautiful but acting certainly was not her forte.

"she couldn't act if her life was on the line" a blonde with hair the same colour as sabrina's spoke taking up the space besides airila. her complexion was porcelain and light and her eyes were way too brown to be natural. "dahlia" she introduced with a smile.

"airila" she introduced with a smirk, before turning her attention to sabrina seeing their father speaking to the girl. she noticed sabrina's hand make it's way to a pin holding a sandbag above the girls head before.

"i won't! i won't do it!" the blonde suddenly yelled in resentment before jumping up staring to the side, airila knew no one else could see her father and the spellman girl probably looked mad.

"sabrina, who are you speaking to?" zelda asked as she stared at her niece with worried eyes. sabrina turnt to look at airila seeing the girl stare at her wide a raised eyebrow.

"no one, aunt zelda. sorry" she quickly dismissed the women as she held her script close to her as a way of defense.

"and that's lunch, everyone" zelda spoke after sighing, turning to all the teenagers as another way of telling them to leave her alone.

――――

airila sat with dahlia as she let the girl ramble on about her hatred for dorcas, the redheaded witch that would be the star of the play. she kept her eyes focused on the small blonde who was munching on her apple slices before she noticed the gorgeous nicholas scratch approach her.

"dahlia" airila started stopping the girl "nicholas scratch, explain" airila ordered the girl as she watched the boy interact with her. she could tell there were feelings there.

"he is such a man slag. used to sleep with anyone, until sabrina came along. now his eyes are set primarily on her" dahlia said as she crossed her arms.

"i want him" airila stated plainly, as dahlia stared at her with doubtful eyes. airila was beautiful no doubt about it and dahlia didn't know if it was because she was part celestial but there was something simply enticing about her that dragged people near, but considering how hard nick had been working on sabrina it was risky.

"unless sabrina dies, there's no way he's changing his sights" dahlia explained as she tried warning the girl, she didn't know whether to consider her a friend or not but did decide to send a warning her way.

"then she'll just have to die" airila said before she and dahlia turned their heads to the blonde hearing her begin to choke. airila's eyes widened wondering if she had done that or if some soul working for her was doing her dirty work.

sabrina stood up as she held her throat staring at something behind dahlia, airila turned noticing her father. she quickly got up and made her way over to the blonde as she fell on her back screaming.

"sabrina, you're choking let me help" nicholas said loudly trying to get sabrina to listen as the weird sisters also made their way over, all students crowding over the witch on the floor.

airila felt her fathers presence leaning over her before she grabbed the spellman girls arm teleporting her back to the spellman mortuary. she didn't bother saying to everyone else where she was going knowing she wasn't allowed to let the girl die.

――――

airila stood outside of sabrina's bedroom as she waited for the girl to wake up, hearing her aunt talking to her "darling, there's my good girl" the woman said with a smile. her voice sounding soft to airila. the tone very foreign to her, very different to how her father would speak to her.

"what happened?" sabrina asked as she took the tea her aunt was offering, sitting up in bed.

"you started choking on an apple is what happened? and then airila morningstar teleported you home, praise satan, and i... i performed the heimlich manoeuvre on you" she said as sabrina's eyes widened. "what happened my love?" her aunt asked but airila already knew.

"my fathers hounding her" airila spoke as she finally made an appearance in the room, walking to stand at the edge of sabrina's bed.

"because she hasn't done what he asked, is that it?" sabrina's aunt asked the girl confused being slightly cautious of the girl. airila nodded as her aunt turned back to sabrina "you're in a pickle then"

sabrina turned to airila with a cautious look "i didn't tell you this, but he tasked me, once. one day, after my baptism, he gave me a wooden box with a button on top" sabrina's aunt began. "a button to push" she continued.

"did you?" airila asked, although he knew if she hadn't she probably wouldn't be there today. the woman hummed confirming her thoughts.

"what happened?" sabrina asked as she saw the regretful look in her aunts eyes.

"nothing. it tormented me for days. i thought something must have happened, something awful. and so i smashed the box to see what was inside." she continued as she began fidgeting.

"and?" sabrina asked as she urged her aunt to finish the story which sparked both girls interest

"empty. empty wooden box. no mechanisms inside it at all" the woman finished as airila scrunched her eyes.

"i don't understand. it was all for nothing?" sabrina asked as she shook her head.

"i think my father wanted to know you'd do it" airila spoke to the woman as she felt her turn, she knew her father was twisted and would do anything to make people question their sanity, break the from the inside out until they destroy themselves.

"maybe i shouldn't be resisting him, then" sabrina thought out loud as she looked down at her lap, her performing whatever her father wanted would be a stepforward for airila and a stepback for lilith.

"why are you?" airila asked thinking that sabrina would be all for it, if it meant she could be nearer to nick. wasn't that the whole reason she broke up with her mortal?

"if i say yes to this one thing, it'll be harder to say no to the next" sabrina explained as airila internally groaned. she knew the girl was a goody-two-shoes but she didn't know it was this bad.

"well i can't tell you what to do" her aunt chuckled "but.. you know chances are the dark lord's influence is much stronger at the academy and the desecrated church. maybe it'll be easier to resist him, i that's what you're choosing to do, if you went back to baxter high. i mean surround yourself by your mortal friends. by harvey and rosalind and theo" the woman was cut off by sabrina's confused voice.

"theo? who's theo?" sabrina asked as her aunt rolled her eyes at the girls cluelessness.

"oh- do catch up. susie goes by theo now. you've missed so much. you've been strong for your friends. you've protected them and held them up. let them do the same for you now." the woman said as airila knew where this was going.

"maybe you're right, aunt hilda. maybe i need to get back to my non-satanic friends" sabrina sighed as she glanced at airila wondering why she was still there.

"lovely, i'll join you" the girl exclaimed earning weird looks from the spellman woman "i've never been to a mortal school" the girl shrugged thinking of an excuse quickly.

――――

that day she went to baxter high, she decided to go flare jeans which hugged her figure nicely and a floral long-sleeved flare shirt with a low neckline and a short white cropped top underneath to cover her cleavage. she felt like a normal teenager that day in bright tight clothes with normal kids in classes. it wasn't as bad as she expected.

sabrina had disappeared with her old friends and her ex, airila admitted the mortal was pretty handsome and was confused on why sabrina wouldn't date him or nick. airila spent the day surrounded by a jock named billy and carl, both on the football team and both very attractive. carl was the nicer one of the two and billy was a big bully airila learnt. but she was sure there must've been more to the mean blonde.

during a talk with the two boys and the football team the girl had been summoned to liliths office room, walking in to see sabrina on the desk with her shirt lifted up on her back. she noticed the three claw marks. marks she was painfully familiar with.

"it's called the devil's claw, sabrina" airila announced before even letting sabrina turn around, remembering when she got hers at the age of six. the memory clear in her mind.

"it's a physical manifestation of his grip on your soul" lilith continued as airila took a seat next to the spellman girl.

"great, so does every witch have one?" sabrina asked as airila let out a deep laugh, she really was clueless. airila admired that and always despised it. she despised the day sabrina was to learn of hell. not becaue she cared about sabrina but she cared about the innocence that the girl harboured, an innocence she once always possessed.

"well, not as inflamed as yours-" lilith was cut off by airila holding her hand up to stop the woman mid-sentence. lilith already knew of airilas claw, she'd been there when it first appeared.

"except me" airila said devilishly before lifting the back of her shirt showing the three claw marks which covered her whole back, the vibrant red shocking sabrina. they were deep enough to draw blood but they were so clean and looked like they were now merely scars.

"oh my god!" sabrina exclaimed in shock as she stared at the girl with wide eyes, considering how okay she looked with having them.

"i'm his daughter sabrina, i've been defying him since the day i was born" airila shrugged it off with a smirk trying to cover the fact that they pained her more and more everyday.

"yours indicates... are you defying him in some way?" lilith asked as sabrina looked down avoiding eye contact with airila.

"she is, she wouldn't steal a pack of gum. she thinks it's not a big deal" airila announced beating the girl to answering as she remembered what the spellman girl told her earlier that day.

"oh, but it is! it is a big deal. every avalanche begins with a snowflake. trust me, the path to consummate evil is cumulative, not singular. today, it's gum, tomorrow, he'll be asking you to poison greendale's reservoir." lilith finished with a sigh

"so , are you saying i should defy him?"sabrina asked confused "but you took me into the woods to sign the book of the beast" sabrina argued.

airila figured out what lilith was doing, getting the girl to go to the good side so she would eventually be able to rule over hell and not her or sabrina. she hadn't worked sixteen years to be over ruled by her father's mistress.

"my father won't be happy" airila warned as she stared up at sabrina with wide eyes, she needed to convince the girl to do it as soon as possible.

"i did, yes, as a last resort, but forcing you to steal a pack of gum is just petty and malicious" the woman finished as airila laughed "and now, as before, i believe we should all have free will" lilith protested.

"well, what are my options?" sabrina asked conflicted looking between the two others in the room. "could you speak to him?" sabrina asked hopefully turning to airila.

the girl laughed before realising sabrina was being serious "he'd kill me and not bring me back for another century, no thank you" she joked, but her tone showed she was being deadly serious. he wouldn't hesitate even if she was his daughter, his flesh and blood. it wasn't like he was killing her, just preserving her body.

"he's always... lurking, nearby, but...is there a way to... trick him?" sabrina asked as she looked at airila cautiously. airila decided in that moment she wouldn't be telling her father. she decided to let lilith play her part before exposing all the womens secrets to her father at the end of their competition.

"you mean deceive the great deceiver?" lilith asked as if sabrina was being absurd, which she was in all honesty. "no, you're locked in a battle of wills, i'm afraid. and nerves" lilith chuckled.

"the claw on your back is a barometer of how you're doing" airila mentioned to sabrina as she felt hers ache in her own back, the way she was defying her fathers wishes were catching up to her again and there was nothing she could do to stop it without losing her throne.

"can i at least, i don't know, shrink it?" sabrina said as lilith held a mischievous glint behind her eyes.

"follow the path of light" the woman said as she glanced at airila with a fake smile knowing how the words would effect her. her being the one to repeat it to her every night before bed anyway.

airila. ethereal, extremely delicate and light that seems to be out of this world. the girl always wondered why her mother named her something so in defiance to the path she was born to follow. although she never got the chance to ask considering lucifer killed her.

"think clean thoughts. do, and be, good, sabrina" lilith instructed now turning away knowing airila had already sinned in her short sixteen years of life and there was no turning away from the path she was born to follow.

"then perhaps that will shrink the devil's stain" lilith finished as sabrina sighed out. airila could hear a low growling behind her and lilith obviously heard it too considering she gave out a tight lipped smile.

her father was present and watching their every move. lilith's eyes widened momentarily before she gained her composure again and smiled tightly to sabrina ignoring airila's warning glance. it was obvious even the airila was frightened of what her father would do.

――――

airila was summoned back to lilith's office the next day after hearing of what sabrina had discovered that morning. she wasn't surprised it was growing. she was defying lucifer, what did she except.

"it's only gotten bigger, blondie" airila said as she played with the handle of the blondes school bad which was placed on the same chair as the spawn.

"but how can that be, ms. wardwell? i haven't done anything wrong. in fact, i've even sequestered myself last night so that i wouldn't do anything wrong accidentally, to myself or to others" she explained as she shook her head in confusion.

"well, let me think. do you have any lingering or... outstanding spells?" lilith asked as she slowly met the girls eyes.

"no" sabrina shook her head as she played with her shirt collar before abruptly stopping "oh my gosh" she breathed out causing airila to stand "wait. i do" sabrina looked up.

"what have you done you idiot?" airila asked the girl from behind as sabrina spun around and grabbed her wrist dragging her out of the room.

sabrina didn't stop her quick steps as she glanced from every side of the hallway trying to find whatever it was that was causing the stain to grow. airila could only let herself be dragged as she knew she had to keep a close eye on the girl.

"billy!" sabrina called out seeing the familiar blonde show up on the stairs before tripping over his own feet and rolling down the stairs with a scream.

the two girls rushed to his side and were met with the sight of a bone slightly sticking out of leg and his friends looking amazed from the top step. airila found the way they were treating the boy sickening. this is what she hated about humans, the way they showed even resentment to their supposed friends.

sabrina looked worried as she met airila's judging eyes as they stared the two boys down, silently cursing them. the blonde could hear airila mumbling and slapped a hand over her mouth to stop her before she did something incomprehensible. airila's eyes widened as she squinted to see round the corner. sabrina followed her eyes to see theo standing there with a piece of rope in her shaking hands.

billy continued screaming in pain as sabrina sent theo a worried look , airila didn't think the boy had it in him to commit such an act. it wasn't anything like murder but it still would've taken a lot of guts and pent up anger.

――――

she didn't want to be there. she didn't want to watch sabrina kiss nick. she wanted nick. not to love, but to have. so when she saw sabrina meet his lips she felt her fists clench in fury making dahlia turn to her with a raised eyebrow and eyes filled with amusement. it didn't matter that sabrina was her sister, she didn't care about her. she would do what she wanted to get the boy.

she could hear lilith's small cry from somewhere in the back as she watched sabrina bow down to nick as though she were lilith and he lucifer. the memories hitting her like a truck. she did feel bad for the woman, she had put her whole life on the line for her father and he treated her like trash after a few thousand years even though she had stood by his side through everything.

nick and sabrina chanted as they locked arms and their eyes met. the crowd clapped as they did not move from their position. they actually looked to be in love, this would only make her plan harder to complete.

the cast came back through closed curtains earning a round of applause as blackwood began cheering, he seemed moved by the performance. idiots. she thought to herself. sure she would stand by her fathers side forever and would bow to him. but he didn't deserve the praise, he barely ever kept his word. how could he even be considered a man?

――――

dahlia had told her about the after party at dorian gray's room, dorian couldn't deny her anything considering she basically held ownership over his soul due to her father. she didn't use that too much to her advantage though finding the boys narcissism exhilirating. but even narcissists become a bit too much sometimes.

that is how she found herself sitting beside dahlia staring at sabrina and nick who held hands in the centre of the room talking to eachother. she could hear what they said due to her enhanced hearing. she couldn't take it anymore as she began approaching the two catching the last of sabrina's words.

"either way, it got rid of the devil's claw on my skin" the blonde said to nicholas making airila roll her eyes.

"but not the one your soul" dorian said as airila took a space next to his figure. she avoided sabrina's smile not wanting to be forced to send one back and nicholas' curious eyes.

she hadn't spoken to the boy and obviously he was curious as to why the child of the dark lord had suddenly decided to make an appearance at their school, let alone the land of the living. then again she wasn't completely dead.

"we all have a devil's claw. every single one of us in this room. hell, mine's a painting. the true reflection of my soul" dorian said with a chuckle as nicholas and sabrina shared glances.

"a very gorgeous painting although, won't you admit?" airila teased with a smirk as she trailed her fingers along the blonde mans chin making his grin widen.

"what's yours?" nicholas asked the girl as he leaned forward from where he sat wanting to know what she had given up to her father to possess the power she had now.

"my soul is in his control" she laughed deeply as she placed a hand on her chest feeling her soft heartbeat making sure she was still breathing "my whole being is controlled by my father" she continued well tilting her head to meet nicholas' dark eyes.

"your skin may be alabaster perfection, but that's only because the claw's inside you now" dorian said now turning to sabrina making the girl look down to the floor.

"we didn't order those drinks, dorian" nicholas said gesturing to the three red bloody wines the blonde had placed on his tray.

"no, these are compliments of my father" airila said in realisation as she eyed them with a slight frown tugging at the corners of her lips. it was his signature drink, one she had been familiar with since a young age.

"he wanted me to tell you that he very much enjoyed the performance tonight. especially your chemistry together" dorian explained making sure to take a quick glance at airila from the corner of his eyes. the mixed girl let out a scoff earning looks from all three.

"i have more chemistry with your painting than these two do" she slightly insulted out loud so they all heard, she didn't like her father encouraging the girls relationship with the warlock boy.

dorian lowered his glass as airila grabbed hers without hesitation and threw the liquid down her throat as quick as possible before slamming it back on the tray "tastes of hell, i love it" she relished in the bitter taste as it burnt her throat.

nicholas and sabrina took their time drinking it as dorian walked away and airila followed after him with a grim look. she heard them continue speaking as she heard their glasses clink. she would have nicholas scratch if it was the last thing she'd do.

even if it meant betraying her father in the process.
