Shubman turned his attention to Hira, his curiosity piqued by her career as a pilot.

"So, tell me more about being a pilot," he began, his tone laced with genuine interest. "It must be incredible to fly all over the world."

Her eyes lit up with enthusiasm as she launched into an discussion about her experiences in the cockpit, sharing tales of breathtaking views from high above the clouds and the thrill of navigating through skies.

"It's definitely an adventure," she explained, her passion evident in every word.

"Every flight is different, and there's nothing quite like the feeling of soaring through the sky and experiencing the world from a whole new perspective."

Her phone buzzed with her mother's call, and she quickly answered, slipping effortlessly into Gujarati as she spoke with her.

"Ha, Mummy, mane dinner mate ek dost ni saathe javanu che," (Yes mom, I'm going for dinner with a friend)

Hira explained, her voice warm and reassuring as she reassured her mother of her whereabouts.

Her mother's voice carried a hint of concern, but Hira quickly put her at ease.

"So, are you Gujarati?" Shubman inquired, his curiosity sparking a new line of conversation.

She nodded, a smile playing at the corners of her lips. "Yes, I am," she replied, her voice tinged with pride.

"I come from a Gujarati family, born and raised."

His interest piqued, he leaned in slightly, eager to learn more about Hira's background. "Tell me about your family," he prompted, his tone gentle.

Hira's eyes sparkled with warmth as she began to share anecdotes about her fam.

"I have the most amazing family," she explained, her voice filled with affection.

"My parents have always been incredibly supportive, they are my closest confidants. We may have our differences, but at the end of the day, we're always there for each other."

As the conversation flowed between them, she turned the back to him, her curiosity piqued about his own family.

"So, what about your family?" she asked, her tone warm and inviting. "Tell me about them."

A smile tugged at the corners of Shubman's lips as he began to share snippets of his family life with Hira.

"Well, I come from a close-knit family too," he started, his voice filled with affection.

"My parents have always been my biggest supporters, and I have a elder sister who keep me grounded."

"As hectic as life can get, family is always a priority for me," he concluded.

"They've been there for me through thick and thin, and I wouldn't be where I am today without their love and guidance."

As Hira listened to Shubman's words, she couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth wash over her.

As they arrived at the restaurant, he hurried around the car to open the door for Her, a small gesture of chivalry that spoke volumes about his character.

"Thank you," Hira said with a grateful smile as she stepped out of the car, feeling a flutter of warmth in her chest at his thoughtful gesture.

Shubman returned her smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners with genuine warmth.

"My pleasure," he replied, his tone sincere as he held the door open for her.

Together, they made their way into the restaurant, the soft glow of the interior welcoming them with open arms.

Choosing a secluded corner for privacy, Shubman and Hira settled into their seats, the cozy ambiance of the restaurant enveloping them in a warm embrace.

With the soft glow of candlelight casting a romantic aura around them, they scanned the menu and made their choices.

After placing their orders, they leaned back in their chairs, their conversation flowing effortlessly as they delved into topics ranging from their favorite cuisines to their most memorable travel experiences.

Soon they eagerly dug into their food, savoring each delicious bite, Shubman couldn't help but notice a small smudge of cream lingering at the corner of Hira's lips.

With a playful twinkle in his eye, he reached across the table, his fingers brushing gently against her cheek as he leaned in closer.

"Looks like you've got a little something right here," he said softly, his voice low and warm as he gestured to the cream.

Her cheeks flushed with a mixture of surprise and amusement as she realized her oversight.

"Oh, thank you," she replied, her laughter bubbling up at the unexpected gesture

With a gentle touch, Shubman delicately wiped away the smudge, his fingertips lingering against her skin for a moment longer than necessary.

Their eyes met, an unspoken spark passing between them as the world around them faded into the background.

In that fleeting moment, as their hands lingered in the space between them, time seemed to stand still.

As he reached for the bill, she gently placed her hand on his, stopping him in his tracks.

With a warm smile, she leaned in closer, her eyes meeting his with sincerity.

"Shubman, I appreciate the gesture, but I think we should share the bill equally,"

Hira said softly, her voice filled with warmth and understanding.

Shubman's gaze softened as he met her eyes, a flicker of admiration gleaming in his own.

"Are you sure?" he asked, his tone laced with genuine appreciation for her considerate gesture.

She nodded, her smile widening. "Absolutely," she replied.

"I believe in equality and fairness, and I want us to enjoy this night as equals."

With a nod of understanding, Shubman accepted her decision, his respect for her values and independence shining through.

Together, they settled the bill, each contributing their fair share.

Once outside, Shubman stopped her and leaned towards her, expecting a moment of intimacy, Hira's reaction was unexpected.

With a sudden jolt, she instinctively moved away, her body tensing as memories of past trauma flooded her mind.

His expression shifted from anticipation to concern as he registered Hira's reaction.

"Hey, are you okay?" he asked softly, his voice filled with genuine concern.

She took a deep breath, her heart pounding in her chest as she struggled to compose herself.

"I'm sorry, Shubman," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. "I... I just can't okay?..., and I'm not ready for... for those kind... of things."

Understanding dawned in Shubman's eyes as he reached out to gently grasp her hand, offering her reassurance and support.

"It's okay, Hira," he murmured, his tone gentle and understanding. "I understand. Im really sorry."

With a mixture of relief and gratitude, Hira met Shubman's gaze, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears.

As he drove, his attention divided between the road ahead and the woman beside him, he couldn't help but notice  Hira's distress.

A quick glance in her direction revealed the glistening trails of tears that she attempted to discreetly wipe away.

Despite his growing concern, he chose to remain silent, sensing that she needed space to process her emotions in her own time.

He understood the delicate nature of her feelings and respected her need for privacy.

As Hira's sobs intensified, Shubman's heart ached with empathy for her pain.

He could feel the weight of her sorrow hanging heavy in the air, the sound of her tears echoing through the car

With a gentle sigh, he reached out a hand, hesitating for a moment before placing it lightly on Hira's shoulder, offering a silent gesture of comfort and support.

He immediately complied, scanning the surroundings for a suitable place to pull over.

he guided the car to a gentle stop by the side of the road, ensuring that they were safely away from traffic.

Concern etched on his face, Shubman turned to Hira, his eyes filled with empathy and a genuine desire to help.

"Are you okay?" he
asked softly, his voice filled with concern.

She nodded weakly, her breathing ragged as she struggled to regain her composure.

"I... I just need a moment," she murmured, her voice trembling with the effort to keep her emotions in check.

"Take all the time you need," he murmured, his voice laced with understanding. "I'm here for you."

With a nod of gratitude, Hira closed her eyes, focusing on her breathing as she attempted to calm the roiling waves of nausea and emotion threatening to overwhelm her.

Feeling Hira's embrace, Shubman returned it gently, wrapping his arms around her in a comforting embrace.

He could feel the tension slowly melting away from her body, replaced by a sense of relief and gratitude. She whispered a small thank you.

"You don't have to thank me," be whispered softly, his voice filled with warmth and understanding. "I'm just glad I could be here for you."

And as they eventually pulled away from each other, a small smile tugging at the corners of their lips,

Soon,  they stood outside Hira's home, the air between them crackled with unspoken tension, their eyes locked in a silent exchange that spoke volumes.

Shubman hesitated, his heart pounding in his chest as he searched Hira's eyes for any sign of what she might be feeling.

Was it too soon to express the depth of his emotions? Or was this the perfect moment to confess?

Hira longed to bridge the gap between them, to lean in and capture the warmth of Shubman's embrace once more.

but fear held her back, the memory of past trauma casting a shadow over her heart.

For a fleeting moment, they stood locked in a silent standoff, each waiting for the other to make a move.

And then, with a quiet sigh, he broke the tension, his voice soft but resolute.

"Goodnight, Hira," he said, his words carrying a depth of meaning that transcended the simple farewell.

"Goodnight, Shubman," Hira replied, her voice barely above a whisper as she returned his gaze with a mixture of longing and regret.

With one final lingering look, they parted ways, the echoes of their shared moment lingering in the air long after they had gone their separate paths.
