•Chapter 15: Love and Loss•

When we all get on the other side of the portal, David, Emma, Henry, Sam, Katherine, Austin, and I make our way to the loft. While David runs ahead of us to meet Snow, I trail behind a bit with Emma before I look at her to see tears in her eyes then she turns to look at me.

"I can't believe all that just happened," I whisper.

"I know," she responds.

"I didn't get to say goodbye."

"You know Killian loved you. He would do anything for you."

"He did everything for me"

We continue to walk in silence as thoughts begin to fill my head about losing Felix for the second time before I get the feeling of walking through the dark abyss once again. Once Emma and I walk into the loft, we see David holding baby Neal as Snow watches him with a smile before Sam, Katherine, and Austin sit on the couches while Henry watches his grandparents.

"Everly! Emma!" Snow exclaims when she notices our presence, "Did everyone else-"

"Regina and Robin are here, too," David tells her.

"Grandpa came back with Belle," Henry adds as Snow looks over at Emma and me.

"And Hook?" she asks.

Emma shakes her head, causing Snow to pull her in for a hug. Over Emma's shoulder, I see Snow look at me with concern in her eyes before she ends her hug with Emma and approaches me.

"Felix?" she wonders.

I look at her with tears in my eyes and, before anyone could console me, I turn and walk out of the loft. I need to cope with this the best way I knew how. Alone.

I find myself walking down along the docks when I spot a place I haven't been in ages. The place Will Scarlet and I would always go to when we wanted to talk. A small smile forms on my face as I walk over and sit on the bench and look out of the ocean before I take off my necklace and look at all of the charms as well as the bracelets and the ring.

Each was given to me by someone close to me and, to me, they each represent something the person taught me. The sun charm my parents gave me represents heroism. The sword charm Baelfire gave me represents bravery. The ruby charm Sam gave me represents kindness. The heart charm with the "F" Katherine gave me represents passion. The card charm Will gave me represents fun. And, the newest addition to my necklace, since I figured out how to change it into a charm, the arrowhead Robin gave me represents friendship. The ring Killian gave me represents family. Finally, the bracelet Felix gave me represents true love.

After staring at all my jewelry for a long moment, I look down at the card charm and begin to play with it in my hand.

"I know your in Wonderland, Will," I whisper, "but I really wish you were here. You're the only one who truly understood how I felt."

The charm lies in the center on my hand and I watch as it begins to shine in the sunlight, making it seem like it's glowing.

"Guess you were right," I mumble, "when you truly love someone, you can never move on."

I continue to stare at the charm as it begins to glow brighter. Confusion takes over until it finally stops glowing, now for it to slightly float above my hand.

"I was going to ignore you," a familiar voice came from the charm, "but you sounded like you disparately needed me. As usual."

"Will?" I question.

"Why do you sound so surprised? An enchanted charm isn't unusual."

"How?"

"How? I took the time to actually answer and all you say is how? You used to live in Neverland and I'm from Wonderland. Do you really have to ask that?!"

Through all my pain, a laugh escapes me as he continues to lecture me about an enchanted charm shouldn't be surprising.

"Now for the important conversation," he says, "are you giving up?"

"Excuse me?" I question.

"Are you giving up?"

"You don't even know the situation."

"I don't care. The Everly I knew, as annoying as she was, never ran from a fight."

"You shouldn't be lecturing me on this. You gave up on Anastasia."

"That's where you're wrong," an unfamiliar voice says, "Will and I are ruling Wonderland as we speak."

"Thank you, Ana," Will sighs, "now, Everly, a lot has probably happened and a great evil is probably threatening everything, as usual. So, be the Everly Jones I know and stand and put a stop to it."

"Thanks, Knave," I smile.

"Good luck, Lost Girl!"

As soon as he finishes speaking, the charm falls back into my hand and returns to normal. I sigh and look out at the water ahead of me before I get up and make my way back into town.

After getting a text from Sam, telling me where they are, I make my way to the library. When I open the door, I see everyone shuffling through a numerous amount of books.

"Everly," Snow gasps, "where have you been?"

"It doesn't matter," I tell her, "you guys find anything?"

"Oh, are you kidding?" Merida laughs as she comes out from behind the corner with Katherine.

"We're literally drowning in books," Katherine adds.

As the two of them continue to look through the books in their hands, I walk forward and look at all of the books on the desk as David begins to flip through one.

"There's gotta be something in here about Hades," he sighs, "but we just started so..."

"We could really use your help," Sam groans, causing me to smile before I pick up a few books and sit at the table with everyone just as Emma storms in.

"Now where have you been?" Snow asks.

"Doesn't matter," she answers, "it was a dead-end. Find anything?"

"Nope," Henry responds.

"Too many books," Sam starts.

"Too little time," I finish.

"Grab a book and take a seat," Austin says, not looking up from his book.

"I'm sorry," Emma sighs, "I don't have time to go through a bunch of books. I should've gone after Hades when I had the chance."

"Emma, wait," David pleads as Emma turns to leave, "we know you're hurting. But getting revenge on Hades is not gonna bring Hook back."

"This is not about revenge!" Emma exclaims as she approaches him.

"Then what is it about, Emma?" Snow questions.

"I can't grieve Hook's death because I know he's still trapped in the Underworld! I know he's still in pain, and the last thing I told him was he needed to move on!"

"You're right," David tells her in a calming voice, "we have to help Hook."

"So," Snow chimes in, "why don't you sit down and help us find a way to defeat Hades...for Hook."

I see the tears form in her eyes before she begins looking around the room when her eyes land on me. She then slowly nods and takes a seat at the table just as a thought occurs to me.

"Where are Regina and Robin?" I ask as I flip through the pages of the book.

"They went through an underground tunnel into the mayor's office to talk to Zelena and Hades," Sam answers, causing my head to shoot up and I look at my parents.

"Is that true?" I question, causing them to nod, "why would you let them go alone?!"

"Regina is perfectly capable of protecting herself," Snow defends.

"I know Regina is!" I shout, "but Robin doesn't have magic! He doesn't even have his bow!"

"They'll be fine, Everly," David tells me, causing me to try and calm myself down, only to still feel panicked as I look back to the book.

***

Emma and I head to Town Hall after Emma showed us the missing pages of Hades story that somehow appeared in Henry's storybook. My guess...Killian and Felix.

Once we get to Town Hall, we find the barrier still up before Emma and I exchange a look then begin to use our magic to try and take down the barrier. After a few minutes, I can begin to feel my energy draining.

"Good luck with that."

Emma and I both stop and turn our attention to Zelena.

"Zelena," Emma says, "I-I don't wanna hurt you."

"No," Zelena responds, "you want to hurt Hades, and that's the same thing. But guess what? There's no way to defeat a god."

"Even gods have weaknesses," I state.

"We know he has the crystal," Emma tells her as she hands her the storybook pages, "and we know what he can do with it."

Zelena doesn't respond as she uses her magic to send Emma and I flying, hitting the ground hard. She then takes the pages and unfolds them.

"So it is true," she whispers then fold the pages back up, "you are trying to kill the man I love! Now I need to know one thing. Did my sister agree to this?!"

Neither of us responded as her eyes widen and, in a cloud of green, she vanished.

***

He had a lot to live for. He didn't deserve this. He was a hero.

I stand under an umbrella with Roland in front of me as we stare at the coffin where Robin lies. One of his men places an arrow with a rose ties to it on top of it then moves out of the way so Snow and David can follow suit. Everyone has gone except for Regina, Roland, and I. I look over at Regina and she nods for us to go before I escort Roland forward and we both place our arrows on the coffin. He stares at it for a moment then turns, buries his face into my stomach, and begins to cry. This causes me to hand my umbrella to Sam before I pick him up and carry him back in line as Regina steps forward and places the final arrow. The sound of Robin's baby crying interrupts the silence.

As the ceremony comes to an end, I keep Roland in my arms before I turn and come face to face with Little John.

"Robin gave this to me right before you went to the Underworld," he tells me as he hands me a rolled up piece of paper, "he said to give it to you if anything happened to him."

After staring at the scroll for a moment, I set Roland down and take the paper before I hesitate a moment then slowly unroll the scroll.

Everly,

If you're reading this, I have come to the end of my journey. I know this is a lot to ask and I know it's not under great circumstances; however, I still must ask you this. I trust Regina and everyone else completely but Roland doesn't trust anyone more than you. Now that I'm gone, he's going to need someone to look after him. Will you please take in my son?

Robin

A small gasp escapes me as more tears threaten to escape.

"If I may be so bold," Little John says, causing me to look up at him, "what does it say?"

"He, uh, he wants me to take in Roland," I respond with a small smile then look to Roland, "I mean, if you want to stay with me."

He slowly nods and I pick him up again as I look to Little John.

"Is that okay with you?" I question.

"Of course," he smiles before he begins to turn away; however, I quickly stop him.

"Can you take Roland to the diner for me?" I ask, "I just need a moment really quick."

"Of course," Little John smiles and I hand him Roland.

As soon as they're out of sight, I make my way to a place I know all too well. Felix's headstone.

"I know you had some role in getting the pages to us," I say as I gently touch the stone, "thank you. For everything. I love you."

I go silent before tears begin to fall from my eyes as thoughts about the eventful day fill my head. First, leaving Killian and Felix in the Underworld. Now, the death of Robin. I don't know if I can handle anything else today.

"Sunshine?"

At the sound of his voice, my head shoots up before I quickly turn to see Felix standing in front of me.

"Felix?"

Before I can even think of a possible reason as to why he's here, he runs up to me and pulls me in for a hug before gently placing a kiss on my lips.

"How are you here?" I ask him through my tears.

"Zeus," he answers, "he must have sent Killian and I back as a reward for helping defeat Hades."

"Killian's back, too?"

"Yeah. We appeared by Emma and she told me you were-"

Without even thinking, I interrupt his explanation by placing a kiss on his lips. When I pull away, we share a smile before tears begin to stream down both of our faces.

"I don't care why," I whisper as I place my forehead on his, "I'm just happy you both came back to me."

"I'm just glad everything turned out okay," he tells me as my smile fades, "what's wrong?"

"Robin...Hades...he killed him."

"Well, can't you do the heart split thing."

"No. He used this crystal. If you get hit with it, your soul ceases to exist."

"I'm so sorry."

"Yeah. Me too."
