•Chapter 13: Siblings•
The day after saying goodbye to Snow and Ruby, I find myself and Felix sitting on the couch as David and Killian give us a lecture, trying to hide how embarrassing this actually is. As they continue their rant, I glance over at Sam, Katherine, Austin, and Henry, who are sitting on the stairs with huge smiles on their faces before I look at Emma to see an amused look on her face. When the door swings open and Regina walks in with a somewhat distressed look on her face, I let out a sigh in relief.
"Thank the lord," I say under my breath as their attention turns to her.
My attention follows everyone else's when Regina begins to explain the situation between her sister and Hades. Once she finishes telling us the story, everyone goes silent, unable to respond
"Zelena is in love?" Emma finally asks, breaking the silence.
"And not thinking rationally," Regina adds, "which for her is a big problem."
"We have to stop her," Killian states, "and if you can't because she's your blood, then allow me."
As the adults continue to have their conversation, my eyes land on Sam to see the expression on his face a mix of fear and sadness. When his eyes land on me and he tries his best to smile, I gesture for him to meet me outside and, as Sam reluctantly makes his way down the steps, I tell Felix I'll be right back before I walk with Sam out the door and quietly close it behind me.
"What's wrong?" I question.
"Nothing," he responds, causing me to send him an unconvinced look before he lets out a sigh, "I saw my mother."
"What? When?"
"When I went to the telephone booth yesterday."
"Why didn't you say anything?"
"You were kinda busy with the whole Felix thing."
"Right," I respond, "what happened?"
"She barely looked at me," he answers, "and, when she did, all she wanted me to do was convince Henry to write her back to life."
"What did you do?"
"Nothing. I didn't say a word."
"You can't really blame yourself. She treated you like you were nothing."
"But she's still my mother. Not that I would tell Henry to bring her back. But I should have said something. I owe her that."
"You owe her nothing," I state before he gives me a small smile just as the door opens and we're greeted by David.
"I'm going to get some groceries," he tells us, "I'll be back in fifteen minutes. Make sure no one gets themselves killed."
We laugh just as he exits and Killian appears with a determined look on his face.
"Going to get Cora," he says.
"Don't get killed," I laugh.
"No promises."
As Killian exits the building, Sam and I go back into the loft and hang out upstairs with our Katherine, Austin, Felix, and Henry.

After about twenty minutes, everyone else who was downstairs is gone except for Emma. She's just staring at a picture of our parents when the door opens to reveal David and a bag of baby stuff. When he doesn't acknowledge our presence upstairs, I quietly stand up and look over the railing, trying to stay unnoticed.
"Everything okay?" he asks Emma.
"Yeah," Emma answers, "just thinking about Mom. I hope she's okay without us."
"I'm sure she is."
"Remember this?"
She smiles before she turns the picture towards him, causing him to look at it and chuckle.
"Birthday, right?" he questions.
"Anniversary, I think," Emma answers.
"Oh, right. Of course. I'm not thinking straight. Being away from her is...it's hard."
"I know."
"You ready?"
"Regina said the rendezvous point with Robin is a half day's walk into the woods. You sure you have all of the supplies from her list?"
"Bottled water, a new blanket, and a lot of baby wipes," he says.
"Father of the year," Emma laughs.
"Just do me a favor. When we get back, don't tell Snow I forgot our anniversary."
"Well, between all of the curses and the time jumps, who could blame you?" she responds as she opens the door, "come on."
When they turn to exit, I can see a devilish smirk appear on David's face in the mirror before I back to everyone watching quietly next to me before Henry sends me a concerned look.
"I don't think that's David," he whispers.
"Hey, David!" I call, causing him to turn to us with a confused look on his face, "can you tell Robin I say hi? Oh! And his son, too."
He nods in response then follows Emma out the door before I turn to look at my group with fear in my eyes.
"That's not David," I tell them.
"How do you know for sure?" Felix asks.
"If I were David, he would have corrected me. Robin's child that's down here is a girl, not a boy."
I pull out my phone and call Emma, only to receive her voicemail before Henry begins to go down the stairs.
"We need to go after her," Henry panics.
"Henry! Wait!" Sam exclaims, causing the boy to stop in his tracks and turns to us.
"We can't let James know we know it's him," Katherine says.
"Then what are we going to do?" Henry questions
"What about magic?" Felix suggests, "we can teleport to Robin."
"We can't," Austin answers, "then my father will know what we're up to."
We sit there in silence as we think of a way to stop James without getting Emma in more danger than she already is. Then my eyes widen in realization before I mentally smack myself for not thinking of it sooner.
"Robin," I whisper before I quickly pull out my phone and dial Robin's number, only to get his voicemail.
"Why doesn't anyone answer their phones?" I groan as I listen to his machine, "Robin. I think you might be in danger. If anything happens, send me a text with the letter...J."

After a while, the door swings open and James enters with a worried look on his face. As soon as we see him, we all get ready to fight before we rush down the stairs and circle him.
"Everly?!" he questions, "what are you doing?!"
"Enough with the act, James," I hiss, "where's my father?"
"I am your father."
"Prove it."
"Snow and I gave you a golden sun necklace when you were born."
"What did you name me?"
"Rapunzel," he answers.
"Why did you give me up?" I ask.
"We didn't. You were taken from us."
As soon as those words leave his mouth, I signal to my group to lower their defenses before David looks to me with a worried expression.
"Where's Emma?" David asks.
"She went with James to find Robin," I answer, "she thought you were him...or he was you...you know what I mean."
Not a moment later, my phone goes off and I pull it out to see a text from Robin with the single letter J. As soon as I get the text, I toss the phone to Katherine to have her track the text. Before we know it, she quickly finds out that they're at the dock.
"We aren't going to make it in time," David states.
His words cause me to look to the floor then back to my group before irritation makes its way into my head, knowing I'm going to regret what I'm about to so.
"Austin, stay here with Henry. If something goes wrong, get him out of here," I tell him before receiving a nod in response, "Sam, Katherine, and Felix, you're coming with me."
As soon as the words leave my mouth, David, Sam, Katherine, and I stand in a circle and take each other's hands before I focus on the docks. A second later, we appear behind Cruella's car, along with Killian, and see the baby on the hood while James and Cruella are forcing Emma and Robin towards the water. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Sam tense out at the sight of his mother before I make eye contact with Robin and watch his eyes go to the baby.
"Get the baby and get out of here," David whispers to us, "I'll help them."
I send him a nod before I grab the baby while he and Killian go over to the four by the water. Once the baby is in my hands, Sam and Katherine watch my back before we sprint into a nearby warehouse and hide behind some boxes. After about twenty minutes, we heard footsteps enter the warehouse and we all go as silent as possible as they get closer.
"Everly!" Robin calls.
At the sound of his voice, we come out of our hiding spots, causing Robin to sigh before he walks over to us.
"Thank you," he tells me as I hand him his daughter.
"Anytime."
