Sirius Black

"Dang, you screwed up badly." Remus said for the ninth time.

The Marauders were eating lunch in the Great Hall, Sirius slumped over his meal, his face sullen. "Thanks Remus, I didn't notice." Sirius said sarcastically. Then a worried look crossed his face. "She's never going to like me now!"

Jame shrugged. "So she couldn't take a jab about her dead father. She obviously doesn't have a sense of humour."

Peter chuckled at this, but Remus looked shocked.

"James! How would you feel if your father died?" Remus said incredulously. "And then someone makes a stupid joke about it, like it was no big deal?"

Little known to James, Lily Evans was walking by, a few new books in her hands, fresh from the library.

"So?" James snorted. "It's been two years, like seriously, get over it!"

Lily gasped. James's face turned from smug to horrified as he turned around and saw Lily there, her face as flaming red as her hair.

"JAMES FLEAMONT POTTER!" Lily shrieked. "How DARE you say that?"

"You know my-?"

"Yes, Potter, I know you're middle name, it's not like you don't go flaunting it about!" Lily snapped. Tears welled in her eyes. "How dare you say such stuff! That poor girl is devastated!"

She turned on Sirius. "And you didn't make it much better, you, you-" She pointed accusingly at him, trying to find the right words.

"You..you single celled, brainless, tactless idiot!" Lily spat. She picked up the books on the ground. "If you ever say anything so horrid about poor Mr. White ever again, I'll send Marlene after you quicker than you can say, 'Lilyflower!'"

She stormed away, her aura of leadership and anger still airing about.

"Boy, your girlfriend can go ballistic." Peter said after a while.

"Did you hear?" James said, with a dreamy sigh. "She knows my middle name."

Remus rolled his eyes, took a slice of chicken pie, then said, "You better be cautious, James. Also, Lily's right. Stop making fun of a girl who is grieving over her dead father."

"We're not making fun of her!" Sirius and James said together, shocked.

"We're just...surprised that she couldn't take such a harmless joke!" Sirius added.

Remus's eyes widened, and he looked down, took a sip of pumpkin juice, then said, "I'm starting to think that maybe you two are just the teeniest bit tactless."

There was a long silence. "Do you think that Lilyflower will actually send Mighty Marlene after me?" James gulped.

Suddenly, Remus started laughing. "Remember at the start of third year, when you grabbed Lily's arm? When Marlene saw you, she went full on jinxes."

James shuddered. "My whole body got puffy. I reckon my left buttock has never been the same."

"So, Padfoot?" Peter asked. "What's the next plan to get her?"

"None." Sirius said. "I ruined my chance with her, so on we go to another girl."

Remus let out a weird sound. "Are you saying I wasted two hours of my good sleeping time helping you find a picture of Leah White, all for it to resolve into nothing ?"

Sirius noun, then sipped some water to wash his food down. He was disappointed in himself, but now he had free rein to explore other girls.

"So, back to blonde girls?" James asked, peering around the Great Hall. Suddenly, a thought crossed his mind. "Padfoot, have you thought of Mighty Marlene?"

"Mighty Marlene?" Remus spluttered. "If you even try, it'll be off with your head!"

Sirius sighed thoughtfully. "I haven't tried." He said finally. "Maybe I should."

But inside Sirius' head, he wasn't over Leah White just yet. He wouldn't give up on her, even it took time.

                           ╔═══°∴,*⋅✲══〖✰〗══✲⋅*,∴°═══╗

"So..." Sirius started, standing next to Marlene.

"No." Marlene said automatically.

"What?" Sirius asked, confused. "I haven't even-"

"I don't wanna listen to your annoying voice." Marlene said, not even looking up. She was sketching something in her sketchbook, and she was focused on her quill.

"Annoying voice?" Sirius asked incredulously. "Marlene-"

"Ew, don't say my name." Marlene said, scrunching up her nose in disgust.

Sirius was shocked. How rude of Marlene!

"Ok-" Sirius thought of a way to address Marlene without using her name. "Sketcher, if you just went out with me once-"

"EW!" Marlene exclaimed, jumping up, and her sketchbook and quills fell all over the floor. She rounded on Sirius. "Me, on a date with you ?!"

"First you hit on Leah, she rejects you because you make a stupid, idiotic, joke, and now you hit on me!!" Marlene shouted. "So just stop, Sirius, and for once, use your brain!" She picked up her supplies angrily, the turned around and walked away, and Sirius thought he heard her mutter, "He's lucky my wand is upstairs."

Sirius sighed and plopped down on the couch that Marlene was sitting in. Marlene had dropped the drawing she was doing, and it was just laying on the floor. Sirius picked it up, then looked at it thoroughly. "What the-?"

"Heyy Padfoot, didja get her?" James asked enthusiastically.

"No." Sirius said. He looked down at the drawing again. Was Marlene drawing....him?

"Wow, nice drawing of you, Pads." James said, peeking over Sirius' shoulder and seeing the drawing. "Who made it?"

"Marlene McKinnon." Sirius answered. He held it up to the light.

"Wow, so she does like you?" Remus asked. "That looks so much like you!"

"She's really good." Peter agreed.

"She's clearly in love with you." James said pointedly. Remus's head was looking up, then back at the drawing, up, then back at the drawing.

"Uhhh- Pads?" Remus said.

"What?" Sirius asked, distracted by this new information. So Marlene didn't think he was ew, obviously, because she drew him!

"I think Marlene was drawing the portrait of Baron Griffiths." Remus said, pointing to the picture hanging over the fire.

Sirius, James and Peter looked up, and realized that Marlene was, indeed, drawing Baron Griffiths. There was a silence.

"So....Marlene is in love with Baron Griffiths?" Peter said, breaking the silence.

"No, no, I am not!" Said a heated voice behind them. Sirius turned around and saw Marlene standing behind them, her hands on her hips.

"I was waiting for you idiots to figure it out." She snapped. "Now give me the drawing of the Baron."

Sirius handed her the paper.

"And no, imbecile Pettigrew, I was drawing the Baron for my History of Magic class!" She said, then stormed away, her blonde hair flying behind her.

Sirius felt defeated inside. That was THREE different girls who had shunned him out and got mad at him.

"Ei, Padfoot, you're not so popular within the golden gang." James said, with a small smile.

"Golden Gang?" Remus said, bemused.

"Leah White, Alice Fortescue, Marlene McKinnon and of course, Lilyflower." James said.

"Alice is the only one who hasn't screamed at me yet." Sirius mumbled.

"Well then let's wait and see." Peter said, with a snort.

Sirius lay in bed once again, his mind racing. Just the night before, he had been excited to see Leah White again. This time, he didn't. He was still in love with her, but now, since he had said those moronic things, the story was now enemies to (hopefully?) lovers.

It would take more work, but Sirius was determined to make it happen. And it would happen, he told himself. He just had to be more...less mean, and maybe put more work into thinking before he talked.

Sirius smiled to himself. It would be worth it, yeah, it would be.

Hey guys!

I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and the Enemies to Lovers idea. On weekdays, I think I'm going to do daily updates for this book, I have all the chapters ready lol. I also made a new book called Roses, it's a Cedric Diggory fanfic, check it out if you want! Thanks for reading!
