๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐, it fell open and Ava could finally pack her clothes for the thanksgiving trip. They usually didn't celebrate but Nicholas's parents did and invited her parents a couple years ago, since then it's becoming their tradition.
She opened her closet and picked out multiple cold weather clothes. It was cold in London for fall, but at their beach house in Waterloo warm clothes was definitely necessary. After 15 minutes of packing her suitcase, it was full. She only added her toiletries and other necessities before closing the suitcase.
Ava was still in her work clothing, so she quickly changed into a light gray polo sweater and light blue linen pants. Her white sneakers were by the door so she put them on right before she had to leave.
Normally Ava would go with her car to an event or to her family, but waterloo was a 4 hour car ride and with the train in was 3 hours. Her parent's would pick her up from the station.
Evelyn suggested she would take her friend to the station because of the heavy suitcase and bags. Right on queue Evelyn's horn blasted through the street. Ava put on her navy blue puffer jacket and walked out the door with her stuff.
Evelyn had already open the trunk for her friend's stuff. Ava put it in the back and closed the door before getting in.
"Thanks for bringing me Ev." Ava thanked her while putting on her seatbelt.
"Of course, it's only a 10 minute drive." She said nonchalantly. "But promise me to call me when you have gossip about that boy." A smirk plastered on her face.
"You'll be the first to know." Ava giggled at her friend's comment.
After about 10 minutes they arrived at the station. They both got out the car, Evelyn helped get the suitcase out of the trunk and closed it after. Ava gave her friend a hug and thanked her for the ride.
"I mean it, call me with gossip!" Her friend yelled when she walked away from the car.
Ava bought her ticket and waited a couple of minutes for her train. It was only minutes later until her train arrived. She got in and sat down at the nearest free space she spotted. Ava put her suitcase next to her and grabbed her AirPods.
She had a 3 hour long train ride ahead and still had to finish a little life. The music blasted through her ears as she was reading. Ava didn't even notice someone was sitting across from her.
Ava brought a bottle with some hot tea and some biscuits in case she got hungry.
After about 30 minutes a foot kept hitting hers. It didn't bother her at first but it kept happening. She looked up facing the man she wouldn't have expected in the least. He had his phone in is hand and sat low in his seat. Nicholas had his headphones on and probably tapped in feet on the beat.
"Could you please stop hitting my foot." Her British accent a little more vivid than normal.
He didn't hear her.
"Nicholas!" She hit him back with her own foot. He finally noticed her name calling.
He put down his headphone and waited for her to say something. "Could you stop hitting my foot the whole time?" She asked.
"I have long legs, I can't do anything about it." He exclaimed and put his headphone on again.
She rolled her eyes and pushed away his feet from her side, but he didn't budge. Why did he even sit across from her? Ava couldn't concentrate on her book anymore, so she decided to text the group chat with an update.

๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐, they all found it funny that Ava was in this awkward situation. They were almost in waterloo, the whole way Nicholas had tapped against her foot. She wouldn't even be surprised if it was sore if she stood up.
The train finally came to a stop, Ava looked out the window and didn't even notice that it was pouring outside. Lovely english weather.
She grabbed her suitcase and bag before walking to the door. When the doors opened she ran to the parking lot where she knew her parents were.
Ava spotted the familiar car and opened the trunk as fast as she could. Her suitcase took half of the trunk's space. Ava closed the trunk and got into the car, immediately greeting her parents.
"Hi mum and dad." She smiled into the mirror, her parent returning it.
"Hi sweetheart, we just have to wait on someone else." Her mum explained.
Who would they pick up as well? Ava sighed and leaned her head against her seat. He was coming with them. The trunk opened and someone threw something in the back, it closed with a loud thud. The left door opened and it revealed a very soaked Nicholas. His white shirt now a little see through because of the rain. Ava couldn't take her eyes away from his chest for a couple of seconds.
Her staring was interrupted by her mother greeting him. They're always planning for us to be together. First telling them one another is not coming, then they take the same train to waterloo, and now her parent's picking him up as well. Ava knew they were clever but she never thought they would do this.
"It's only a 5 minute drive Nic." Lucy, Ava's mother told Nicholas with a smile. He returned the smile gracefully.
๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐, her mother was asking all about his journey and his acting career. Her mother knew everything about his life from his parents but she was still curious.
Whey they did arrive at their beach house, Ava immediately got out of the car and grabbed her suitcase.
"Are you not giving our guest his suitcase?" Ava's mother asked.
"He's strong enough to get it himself." Ava walked over to the door and went into the house. She immediately got greeted by Nicholas's parents. They both engulfed her in a tight hug.
"It's been so long sweetheart!" Nic's mother exclaimed enthusiastically.
"It has been a long time." Ava chuckled at her excitement.
Her parent's and Nicholas walked through the door. His partners going from Ava to their son. Ava took that as her queue to go to her room.
She placed her suitcase on her bed and opened it to place her clothes in the closet. She turned on music while she was storing away her clothes.
It was mostly 80's or 90's music, a little bit of crowded house, milli vanilli or fleetwood mac.
The door quietly opened, revealing a tall brunette in the doorway. Ava didn't even notice until he cleared his voice. He was holding his small suitcase in his hand and a bag on top of it. She immediately knew what this meant.
She sighed at the thought. "We have to share a room don't we?" She questioned. He gave Ava a small nod in return.
"Where are you even gonna sleep? The ground?" She asked him.
"No, your mother gave me an air mattress to sleep on with a pillow and a duvet." He explained walking into the room.
He was still soaked from the rain, luckily he didn't wear his all stars or the whole house would be muddy. Nicholas put down his stuff and laid out the mattress. Ava continued putting her clothes away while he blew up the mattress.
After a while he was done making his bed. When Ava turned around he was shirtless. She couldn't help but stare for a minute.
"Sorry, I was just gonna go and take a shower." He excused his action. It finally snapped in Ava to stop staring at him.
"Next time it's easier to take off your clothes in the bathroom." She explained.
Nicholas nodded and grabbed some dry clothes out of his suitcase. He took off and went into the bathroom. Ava finally had some time alone. She remembered that she brought her laptop with her. Ava hadn't had the time to continue writing her romance novel. It wasn't like she had many ideas if she had the time to write. Today she at least had to finish one chapter.
Time passed and the only sentence had type was about the weather. She sighed at herself for the lack of inspiration. Nicholas walked into the room in that exact moment. His hair was still wet from the shower, he was wearing a white hoodie and some grey sweatpants.
Every girls weakness to be honest.
He quickly grabbed a book out of his bag and walked out of the room again. Ava heard him go down the stairs, he would probably sit by the fireplace with their parent's to read.
Ava hesitated to go downstairs too, but she decided to close her eyes for a while, just until they called her for dinner.
SHE WOKE UP WITH A BLANKET AROUND HER, Ava didn't remember lying down under a blanket. Her mother probably walked into the room and put one around her.
Ava looked at her alarm on her night stand. It was 9pm. She had probably missed dinner and her mother didn't want to wake her up.
Ava rubbed her eyes and sat up in her bed. She scanned the room and saw that Nicholas wasn't in the room. Ava got out of her bed and made her way downstairs. The warm hit her in the face, she saw everyone sitting around the fireplace on the couch. They probably had a cup of tea and were watching some old movie. Nicholas wasn't really bothered to watch the movie. He was on his phone texting with a very concentrated face.
Ava greeted everyone when she walked in the room. "Honey, you missed dinner because of your nap, but I made you a plate to warm up in the microwave." Lucy smiled at her daughter.
Ava put the plate in the microwave and waited for it to be done. She grabbed it out of the microwave and put it on the dining table. Ava say down and started eating.
"Nic, could you please accompany her while she eats? You wouldn't like eating alone." Ava heard Nic's mother ask him.
He stood up from his spot on the couch and sat down next to her at the table. Nicholas's gaze was fixated on her face.
"You don't have to watch me eat." She gave him a weird look.
"My mother made me." He explained.
"Okay..."
