I have been sleeping with one eye opened and sometimes i end up falling asleep with my eyes wide opened. Strange and probably uncalled for but I didn't want to take any chances with Chloe as the new queen of mean. Even Matilda is scarred of her so who am I not to express mine for my one twin sister.

Our mock exams start two weeks ago but that has been the least of my worries. Usually, I should be more focused on the exam because it was the determinant the school uses to see if we were ready for  WAEC and NECO. I had bigger fish to fry Thanks Chloe who was always at my neck plot planning and executing ways she could hurt me.

I remember clearly how she has claimed her innocence in front of mom and my elder brother. She had purposely put a live crab in my school backpack and unknown to me, I opened the bag reaching my hand into it to get something out. I had ended up causing a scene in class that day as it's claws was tightly wrapped around my pinky finger.  I got home upset and told mom and my brother about it. They didn't believe me but still, they let it slide because they have other things to worry about.

Two days before that Incidence she made hot cocoa and toast bread for breakfast. Fortunately for me, I had drank half of the content not know how extremely hot it was. I had to do a spite take immediately to get the extremely hot content out of my mouth. My mouth was completely scarred and I wasn't able to eat anything again for the rest of that day.

Today's own was a Hot water bath. I was supposed to take my bath in the walk-in bathroom of my room but the door was jammed and I haven't gotten around to fix it. That was the main reason I had to have my bath in her bathroom and she used it to her advantage. How she made the water completely hot before it was my turn to bath is what I don't know.

Thanks to the hot water I had to manage I now had blisters everywhere. I couldn't even wash off properly because the water was too hot. I had to grab 2 bottles of water from the small fridge in her room so I could wash up properly. Mom didn't take it likely with her after she saw how red my skin was and mom promised that her punishment was waiting for her when she gets back home.

Right now we were both in class at our two various sits trying to prepare for a mock exam we would be having today. It wasn't working because we were busy glaring at each other from across the room. Mr. Babalola our sports teacher and our chemistry teacher walked in with the question paper and answer book along with his long cane and we all had to put away our books. In the process of rushing to get that done someone brushed by me speedily but little did I know that a tiny piece of paper was already hanging loosely at the waistband of my skirt. Something that could be counted as exam malpractice and could implicate me.

"The time say 12:00pm and the paper English  last for two hour's meaning finished or not, by 2:00pm on dot every one will submit. Is that clear?"

"Yes sir"

" good, now start."

We all got to work making sure to add speed and accuracy working with a time frame that we were giving. But because Chloe and I were busy arguing and exchanging words with each other we didn't get to read that much. And if not for our brother - who by the way was now a huge jerk to us starving us when mom wasn't around, making sure both of us did the house chores, some time even went ahead to thrown a party at home and blamed it on us when ever mom found out, We probably wouldn't have read enough to answer half of the questions in this question paper. It was time for me to pick an easy to write, just when I have decided to settle for my life as a Nigerian teenager my surname was called and both Chloe and I had to stop what we were doing.

"Babajide! Stand up. Not you Chloe sit, Zoe, it seem like you want to be unfortunate. Todays exam is English, the simplest not to mention the final mock exam you guys have. Why is there a piece of paper in the waist band of your skirt?"

Mr Babalola asked,  I looked at him confusion written all over my face, i looked around my self trying to figure out where he saw the pieces of paper. When he noticed I didn't see it, he took two swift strides to where I was standing and pulled out the piece of paper he was talking about. Turns out it wasn't just piece of paper because when he opened it up to read, it's content were the correct answers to the exam we were currently having. I was at loss of words when he held it out for me and the whole class to see.

Why was all of this happening? and why was it happening now when a baby is growing in my tummy? Why has  the universe chosen to punish me in the worse way possible. As if being pregnant at 16 isn't bad enough i have to deal with being caught for exam malpractice too. I sigh dejected not knowing what to do or say I just looked at him  as tears blurred my vision.

" you should have known better that nothing gets passed me especially exam malpractice. Please save your crocodile tears it's not going to the help you at this point. Come with me."

I yawed loudly getting the attention of a few of our classmates and that of  the chemistry teacher. He looked at me as if to say do you have problem yawning quietly but I just smirked instead, stood up and when to submit my question and answer booklet. Everyone was looking at me some notice the new aura that I carried along with me but dare not say a word. They could only stare and wonder what happened to Chloe the Underdog of Wesley Academy.

"Are you done Chloe ?"

" yes dearest teacher, it was such a breather."

I said responding with a sick yet sweet smile on my lips as I skipped happily out of the class. All I count think about was how successful my mission was. Incase you are wondering what mission I am referring too then it will be the one of getting Zoe suspended for having a micro chip ( piece of paper) on her while an exam was going on.  She didn't even notice when I was tucking it into the waist band of  her skirt when we went to drop our bag.

I know what you are thinking shouldn't I be more focused on academics. Well let just say my priorities changed and right now, it's payback time, beside being the Brainiac of my set hasn't gotten me anywhere. All it has gotten me is the label of the underdog of Wesley academy and all that is about to change. As I paced the hall way patently waiting or Matilda to finish her exam I ended up bumping into two people i haven't seen all or spoken too all week.

" oh hey guys—"

"We know what you did. And it is not cool."

Molly said cutting me off and putting me in my place straight up. I folded my arms and glared at her for doing that, just when I was  about to speak again her boyfriend Antonio bit me to it saying

"Chloe this is not who you are. Framing people, hurting them, doing and saying things to get back at them, this is not who you are Chloe. You know who you are."

" you are nice, and kind, hardworking always standing up for what you believe in. But that, that stunt you pulled back at the exam hall was low to—"

"Abegi jare let me here word. Nice korr Nitrogen ni. See it's best you love birds  stay out of my way else you will be crushed, friendship or not. Hmmm I don't think you guys understand, see being nice was my past-time and I've been hurt for the last time. I won't ever let another person take advantage of me. The anger burns my skin, third-degree
Now my blood's boiling hotter than a fiery sea

I said to Molly's statement promptly before she even got to finish her sentence.  With my arms still folded my head held high I walked right between Molly and Antonio pushing them out my way in the process. Of cause they weren't too happy about it but they couldn't beat me up for it either, in my defense it a win, win. I heard Molly and Antonio yelling something at me but I had blocked out there voice. The whole corridor was filled with SS3 students as they watched me intensely, no one dared to talk  or say a word to me as I walked pass, not even Matilda as we made eye contact.

I got to the far end of the hall way  only to find out the our scores for the previous subject we did for the mock exam has been uploaded. I scanned through it and found my name and that of Zoe  was at the rock bottom as we both had Cs and Ds. Disappointing I know but just incase you haven't noticed that is the least  of my worries. I had bigger things to worry about and my grades was not one of them. I knew I could make up for my lost grades in a heart beat but I can't say the same about  Zoe. She is not exactly there there Academically long sort short she is on her own.

The bell rang to signal break time and i headed for the cafeteria. The old Chloe was a mess who always avoided the cafeteria but not today, not this new Chloe. I took the second stairs that was located at the end of the hall heading for the cafeteria. Just like Moses parted the red sea, that was the same way everyone, the crowd of students that were heading to the cafeteria gave way for me. I smirked when I noticed, not letting my confidence aura flatter, I continued my journey to the cafeteria.

immediately I set foot in the cafeteria the whole place went dead quiet. No one spoke not even a single murmur was heard as all eye where on me. I grined evilly but that grin was wiped off my face as a grimace took over. Matilda was sitting, no standing and glaring dagger at me and so where are minions Daphne and Dorothy. Slowly but surly they left their table heading to my direction. Before she could get to me I voiced out my thought saying

" what's the matter Matilda, feeling... threatened?"

The look of shock and fear crossed her face and that got me to smirking. When she noticed I wasnt moved by her presence she shook of the look from her face replacing it with a grimace before saying

" wait by what? You? Ha! In your dreams nerd. You couldn't even hurt a fly even if you wanted to"

" oh sweetheart, I'll make you sorry you ever said that."

I said and that caused her to glare at me which broaded the smirk on my face. We held eye contact foe a full 40 seconds before she finally blinked and looked away. She looked at me one last last time before saying

"You are not going to last on the throne as the new queen of mean."

"Hmmm, oh really why don't you sit back, and watch me."

I said maintaining eye contact and not blinking for a second. I walked in between her and Daphne, pushing her out of the way to make my point. A lot of gasps where heard as the cafeteria slowly began to come alive with murmurs. No one saw this coming neither did I see it coming either, but sometime a girls got to do what a girls got to do and becoming the new queen of mean happen to be one of them for me.

Mission accomplished. Most certainly!

I kept on walking until I got to the counter and the minute everyone saw me in the line they all made way for me. The annoying groan of disapproval and displeasure came from Matilda. She marched out of the cafeteria in angry and I grinned to myself while I ordered for my food. The whole cafeteria was in full blast now as everyone had something to say to someone about the little scene Matilda and I created right here in the cafeteria.

Walking with my shoulder high I headed for an empty sit close to the center table in the cafeteria. Once I was properly sitters i began to dig in to my food which was spaghetti and and meat balls with lemonade. I was half way into my meal when someone had the guts to occupy the sit in from of me. I smirked when I say it wad S.D Samuel Adedolapo Dawson my supposed crush. Now that I think about it, so much has been going on with me lately that i haven't had time to crush on him. He looked at me with disapproval and I had to ask after taking at sip from my lemonade.

" what?"

"What ? What? What do you mean what! You know exactly why I'm here so don't what me."

" okay calm down Sammy bear, it is nothing you should worry your little head about."

" urgh! Did you just call me that? Giving me a nickname when I'm mad at you and still busy scolding you."

Oops looks like your crush on him is finally play out.

Shush it subconscious.

"Oops my bad. In my defense it does sooth  you, you looks quite adorable when your angry."

"Oh great, now your flirting with me"

He said expressing his anger and annoyance and I couldn't help but giggle at his reaction. He smiled at me before chuckling a little and I smiled back at him. We held each other's gaze for a while before he finally spoke up.

"Hey have you listen to this song? It's titled Don't give up on me by Andy gammer. Here listen to it."

He said giving me his ear pods to listen to it. I kept eating while  I listing to it while he keep on eating his meal while  subtly watching me. We finished our meal at the same time the song ended. After gulping done what was left of my lemonade I spoke.

" the song is nice."

" nice ??? What do you meant nice"

" really, ha fine. the song is okay I feel your Trying to pass a message across to me with the song. The lyrics says

His face immediately flush red with embarrassment and I couldn't help but grin at this. He began to stutter saying nothing but gibberish as he tried to explain him self. I just Giggle at his embarrassment before he cut me off saying.

" hey ! stop laughing, This is serious."

"Look what I am really trying to say is... is... is that. Hmmm I like ... the ummm urghhhh!!. Look,  I saw sunlight in your eyes when you talked to Matilda, it was literally begging to break free but I knew that-that light was  Destined to end someone's night. To end Matilda. so I gave you that song to Listen to hoping it would erase what ever evil thought you have of her and any one else."

Samuel said finally being able to talk properly. His whole face was still red with embarrassment as he stare at me. It was pretty obvious because of his complexion and I only shock my head at him before saying what I had on my mind.

"Awwwwwwn that was soo cute to watch. The famous Samuel Dawson stuttering and stumbling on his words, what happened to your confidence and charming aura."

"Stop making fun of me. You get the point I'm trying to make okay. now please, can you go back to the nice goody two-shoes Chloe I used to know and love?"

" I'm sorry pretty boy, that's not happening any time soon. It was worth the try though better lucky next time."

the bell rang to signify end of lunch and every one started rushing out of the cafeteria. I looked at him one last time before getting up and heading out of the cafeteria too but before I could even leave the table, he held onto my hand and looked into my eyes pleadingly. I took a sharp breath and looked away at the same time. My mind was already made up and i wasn't letting my feelings with Samuel get in my head and make me change my mind. With that resolution I snatched my hands away from his grip and before I walked away I said

" being nice was my past time Samuel."

Getting back to class i met Zoe crying at her usually sit and I just ignore her. My mind told me that they must have giving here an expulsion or suspension letter but my bet was on the latter. Either way, thats her punishment for thinking she can walk all over me and bully me without the taste of her own medicine. I took my sit and crossed my legs on the table, picked out the latest Super Strikerz comics and started reading.

After two more hours of brutal tutoring and me drafting out more plans I could use to get back at Zoe and Matilda, the boring chemistry class finally ended. I was more that trill when he left the class, leaving Zoe behind I went to the shopping mall not to far for my house to get supplies for my plans. Mom was at home and so was my elder brother, it like this day all they do Is stay home All day and not achieve anything at all.

I don't blame them though there are in a very bad place right now, what I do blame them for is them taking it out on us, Zoe and I. I means hello??? We are not the creator of the misfortune neither did we push you too it, can't you bee A little sensitive to our emotions here and stop acting like us being in your life is what brought the problem to the family in the first place.

"And where do you think you are going's missy. You have a punishment to serve for what you did to your sister, you think I've forgotten abi."

"Good afternoon to you as well mummy, my day went very fine today. Thanks asking."

I said with so much sarcasm dripping in my voice. It either she notices it but chose to ignore or she noticed it and thought there was other thing more disrespectful to your parents and this was the least on the list.

" hmm you too thank you, Go and get changed and come back and meet me here, I'm waiting for you."

With that she went to the sitting room to resume watching her series How to get away with murder. And I went up to my room took a chilled bath and changed into a bumb shorts and a gray spaghetti top before packing my hair into a messy bun.

By the time I made my way downstairs Zoe was just coming in and it was then I got the chance to look at her. She was in her uniform and from the looks of things she had managed to gain a lot of weight. That got me curious though because the Zoe I know hated putting on weight. In fact she was always looking forward to exams so that  the exam stress could help her loose more weight.

She noticed I was looking at her intensely and that caused her to hurriedly greet mom who was now in the kitchen before running up to my room. We now shared a room because we haven't been able to fix her room. That I recked, and from our Financial status I don't think we would ever come around to fix it. We were literally going bankrupt.

By the time she was back downstairs she saw that I was serving punishment, the one mom promised her I would sever for making her bath with hot water. She looked at me with pity as if to say she is sorry for all she made me go through but I glare at her causing her to look away. After a while of remaining in awkward silence and mom being nowhere in sight while I served the punishment, she finally spoke up saying the least I expected.

" Chloe, I'm sorry."

I scoffed not saying anything and she took it as a change to continue talking while I listened quietly.

" look I know I've been nothing but a major asshole to you. Blaming you for every of my misfortune, I never did right by you not even for once. I know you are angry and frustrated and you probably would swap me for a better twin if you have the chance. I know that's how you feel and I am so so so sorry. For what it's worth I'd love it if we could go back to being the twins we used to be. And not a twin with a Difference."

I laughed. I laugh so loud that mom had to come check and see if I was still servings my punishment which was to wash the walls of the the kitchen with tooth brush. The walls of the kitchen was painted in grey gloss but because it's not something we wash regularly it was quite difficult. Hence why it was a punishment i wasn't enjoying. After mom left for her room and I sobered up from my laugher, Zoe said before I spoke.

"Chloe pls don't laugh like that you are scaring the crap out of me. Pls I know i hurt your severe time over and I am sincerely sorry about that, Just pls don't kill me I—"

" oh Zoe,Zoe, Zoe, you stupid insolent child. Do you really think that your words are a magical wand that you can, you know wave in my face and all the pain and heartache you put me through would go away. Hmph you see that's where you are wrong Zoe. you are nothing but a lying, cheating, manipulative son of a bitch and you know what. Instead of killing you and have everyone look at me as the girl who murdered her twin like in the story The things we do by Donaldprince. I'd Rather make your life miserable, a living hell actually, way hotter than you made mine."

At this point Zoe was shedding tear again, crocodiles tears That wasn't helping her situation as she stood with me there in the kitchen. After a while of crying and not saying any things while I did my punishment diligently, she spoke up and me being me I had an automatic response prepared.

"I miss the girl you were"

"of cause you will, many will. Tsk She was easier to kill.
