Prom...

The main glitz and glamour of the whole SS3 was finally here prom night. After mother had literally dragged us out of the Babajide's house two week ago, she Began performing her motherly duties by taking us shopping to get new clothes shoes and bags to fill up our new closets.

In the mist of all that shopping we manger to buy ourselves a two piece white suit for the occasion. I am Chloe decided for once in or live to we are matching Clothes so we both both the same kind of suits but different camisole to go with it. Despite all the shopping we did to distract or self and be happy, we just couldn't not after realizing our lives would have turned out better if our mother didn't cause us. Or life would have turned out better if she didn't wish us away in the first place.

It was few minutes past one and  I just woke up from a long needed sleep, I and Chloe had requested for a twin body massager  and immediately they were done we both feel asleep. I yawned tiredly not going to meet Serenity who was not 16 month old, she could now walk and say word like Mama, Dada and see. I could still remember the day she called me Mama for the first time, it was the best thing that ever happened to me.

She smiled at me  stretching her hands at me and i smiled back lift her out of the crib she was getting a little to old for. She Began playing with my hair scattering the hair I was planning to carry to prom. She giggled know i didn't like what she was doing but didn't tell her to stop. On a normal day I would have swatted her hands away so she doesn't scatter it, but when she notice I wasn't doing that she began to spoil her face. Before I could pacify her she began to cry.

" hmmmm serryy, not now. See this cry you are cry the both of us  will cry it together oo."

"Mamaaahhhh aghhhh yahghhhh"

" oya sorry, sorry Nawa me too I will cry oo."

She keeps in crying which inevitably woke Chloe up as she came to my room yawning. As result of Chloe sleepy walking she mistakenly hit her head and the frame of the door. This immediately made Serenity to stop crying, she was  laughing at chloe now and I just shook my head at her while Chloe groaned in pain rubbing the area where she got her head.

" Weldon ohh serenity, you are laughing at me abi, if it you that hit your head now you will be crying."

She understood what Chloe said or rather What Ant choisgh said as Serenity would like to call her. I just giggle in response  sitting her on the bed close to Chloe who was now sitting on the bed. She was still giggling and laughing at Chloe and Chloe grimace at her playfully saying

"You are still laughing at me abi, instead of you to say sorry."

" Ant choisgh. Ant choisgh yourry, yourry."

"Afi yourry ni. Thank you, your apology is accepted."

Chloe said in response and I just laughed at them finally coming back to my room once I was done peeing and watching my face in my walk In rest  room. Entering my room again I came to carry Serenity so I could give her food which was Cerelac, while chloe and I talked about our prom which was happening today.

"Omoooo. Prom is today and after shopping and buying everything, Praying That Ginger will comm so we can both g0, hmm ginger never come oo. Wetin we go do like this."

"Very easy wee will use garlic to substitute for it nor ni, because be I don't have the mind to call Samuel last minute and tell him I can't make it."

" yes that's true, after all the stress you made the poor boy go through, is now last minute you want to cancel. Dear kor le werk"

I responded sarcastically before we both laughed it off and I continue feeding serenity who was fighting to stay awake so she could finish her food. Deep down we both knew we weren't emotionally or psychologically prepared for prom. Not after what happened to us in the past one month it was just too much Emotionally draining actually and to be fair, I am not sure our dates for prom will be able to understand if we explained why we couldn't make it to prom.

" come to think of it, where will I put serenity's for night, I can't possibly take her to prom."

" fair points. We call a babysitter Maybe some one in our set that isn't going for prom."

Chloe said and before I could Agree with her, my motherly instinct had kicked in and i began to have negative thoughts like, what if my daughter gets kidnapped due to the negligence of the babysitter. Or worse what if she was the kidnappers her self and she was hers on a mission. That didn't sit too well with me but I didn't know how to tell that to Chloe so I just said.

" hmm but I doubt I know anyone. So I'll keep her with mom and at least the house keeper will get me monitor her if more is too busy."

"Aiit true, in that case let's start getting ready it's already past two in the afternoon."

With that i and Chloe began  getting ready Chloe helped me with my make up making sure the eyeshadow was sky blue. This was because my assessories were blue including my shoe and bag.  I had already painted my nails a styling combination of nude and sky blue and because my out fit was pure white, it really stood  out

ZOE'S LOOK FOR PROM

Chloe in her own case although didn't go all our for her make up she managed to packs her hair of wiled curls into a pony tale while mine was wild and free on my head. She had on a black lace camisole with gold dropping necklace. Her accessories were royal blue so it could rhyme with the white nude and royal blue nails she fixed. We decided to go with white and blue as twins so we could a least for once dress Alike like this twin we were. It was a little way of showing our supper for each other.

CHLEO'S LOOK FOR PROM

Once we were done and dusted and we were ready to go, we too a few pictures On our phone and made some short videos. While we are our phone chimed at the same time cause is to smile In union. Both our dates were here to pick us and from the huge Lexus jeep packed outside we know they came prepared, we could see it through the window.

I looked at serenity's sleeping form pecking and blew her a kiss before head out of my room with Chloe by my side. By the time we got the foot of the stairs we couldn't believe our eyes, before us were Samuel Dawson and Joel Benson who mouth handed open even the saw us. It obviously our choice of outfit for prom took them by surprise and at the same time their choice of outfit also took us by Surprise.

They were both dressed in the same blue two peice suit the only diffraction was that Samuel was wearing a darker shade of blue to rhyme with Chloe. His hair was in a love shaped man bun as few strands of his hair fell to this face. Joel's suit came in a lighter shade and Asides that, it was practically the same thing they were wearing. From the look of this mischievous smile on there face I think it's safe to say they planned it.

JOEL AND SAMUEL's LOOK FOR PROM

"Your ride awaits my lady."

They both said in union causing us to giggle in response. We took a few more pictures with them before we Bade our mom Good bye. I made sure to give her and the made Mrs Ogechi a list of things the would need to take care of serenity while I will be away or the night. Ones I was satisfied that have given them enough information about how to take care is serenity while I will be able for 12 hours, i finally left with My twin sister Samuel and Joel so we could all have the best night of our life.

The minute We all got there I saw Molly and Antonio on the red carpet taking couple pictures and I they look stunning together. Two 6 footer standing side by side is like the power couple of my dreams, to bad i needed 12 inches heels If lol wanted to achieve Molly's height.

She was dressed in pure white using silver and white accessories to bring it out more. Antonio on the other hand was dressed in Molly's favorite color. A tea green two peice suit, a white inner shirt with two buttons left undone and he finishes it off with a black shoe and wrist watch.

Yes I know we were fight and they have broke almost all the rules guiding our friendship. Some time I even wonder if we were ever real friends in the first place. I decided to be the bigger man hoping for my sake an they won't ignore me. Once they were done with their shoot while Joel and Zoe were busy at the red capital taking pictures. Moments later a journalist who the school must have employed to cover the Prom, came from nowhere came tto occupy Zoe and Joel While I went to talk to Molly and Antonio.

" hey, looks like our prom king and queen have hade enough paparazzi... You both look stunning."

" hey. Thanks your not looking to be your self. And o.m.g is that Samuel Dawson? Almost I didn't recognize you."

Molly said to me and Samuel who was not standing behind me. He held onto my waist and that caused me to shiver in the delight. A subtle smile appeared on my face for it was fist he was holding me this close. We keep kept on gist and talking  about who is going to be the prom king  and queen.

" what?? I am offend so you guys aren't going to vote for me as the prom king."

" well Samuel we can't afford, have you see your head? It's way bigger than the crown man.

Antonio response to Samuels complaint and in response he squeezed his lips together in a pout. I hand to close my eyes and maintaining a breathing Exercise because he looks so damn kissable  at the moment.

" hello, earth to chole, who are you going to vote of and Prom Queen."

" ooh, hi, Sorry, queen, prom queen. Yess that's for me to know and for you guys to ... oh. My!!! Is that Gloria?"

I said in exclamation. Molly, Samuel an Antonio turned there head to get a better look at what, or rather who I was talking about. There she was  Gloria the same girl that wanted to put trouble in the Paradise of a relationship that both Molly and Antonio have.   She was literally dress to kill tonight, maybe that was why she didn't come with a date. Either that or her date stood her up, both lowkey date or not date She was fire head to toe with her all white gown off shoulder gown and black Accessories to go with it.

GLORIA'S LOOK FOR PROM

"Hmph it's funny how this bitch was the reason I almost broke up with Antonio."

Molly said with so much hate and contempt in her eyes as she watched Gloria sway her hips from left to right. Either she felt our stares on her or someone told her we were staring either way she noticed, and spared us a glance. She chuckled lightly batting her artificial eye lashes at us say

" take a picture of my beauty honey, I don't mind. Besides it will last longer that way."

This aggravated Molly and she went full attack mood ready to pounce on her. Thank Goddess Antonio and Samuel were quick to swing into action as they both help unto Molly firmly. She gritted her teeth angrily at Gloria which Gloria blew her a kiss in return to infuriate her more. Just at Zoe and Joel were coming up to meet us Gloria took it as an opportunity to get her on shots taken at the red carpet.

"Oh. my. gawd is that Gloria? The same bitch that almost stole Molly'a boo."

" yes Zozo it's her, phish for getting Gloria look at Matilda and her date. Stunning is an understatement."

Molly said responding to Zoe's statement. And we all have to turn toward to the direction Molly was looking out. Behold there stood Matilda and her date Jayson, i Almost couldn't recognize them but I did, alright, because a short flashback of how Jayson did a promporpoal for Matilda came gush back to my mind.

Matilda was dress on a simple A line slited dressed that hugged her body perfectly, she made used of Binge and golden brown aAccessories that rhymes  with her complexion. Jayson bring the mini- god of fashion had me drowning over is his simple two piece brown and gray checkers suit, making use of a black turtleneck shirt and a black shoe and wristwatch to finish it off.

Samuel who I never knew was very observant noticed the way I was looking at them with so much hurt In my eyes. He didn't like the way there Presence changed my mood completely and how he could feel it was a mystery I would like to solve at another time.

" hey we should take pictures at the red carpet"

"Yea, yea. We haven't done that yet."

I said in response finally looking  at him finally as I was able to tear my eyes away from the couple who were most likely going to win prom king and queen. Slowly taking one step at a time I made my way to the red capital to take pictures. After taking some person I took a couple more with Samuel by my side, after we were Satisfied with the shoots we have taken, Samuel opted to take few more personal pictures.

There she was, my best and only realest friend I could ever ask for. Raped at the age of 16 by her own  elder brother, Nafeesat Cleo Umaru and her date Thomas mope Damijo walked in beautifully and handsomely dressed. There hands were entwined and I knew for sure that he has been doing a lot of work to Get Nafeesat to her formal confidence and Bubbly self. The beautiful smile on her face showed how comfortable she was in her on skin and I couldn't help but admire her choice of outfit, it was indeed beautiful beyond my description.

The both look like all those power couple on Instagram and I was that at least one of them was my bestie. Nafeesat smile brightened as she saw me so did mine. I was so happy my best friend Could make it to prom, after the horrible thing her brother did to her. I am also very much thank for Tiana Adebiyi-Williams, it's thanks to people like her that Rape victims can create and lead a new life Leaving their past behind.

Prom day. Indeed what is not the love about is. Is it the glitz, the glamor, the photo booth section? C'mon everyone who is anyone in high school would be crestfallen with out a perfect prom. It was the night of our live the prom of our lives and we were determined to live in the moment. Enjoy everything in between and not have anything worry about boy were we wrong.

" gosh Fee your look is to die for."

" thanks Chloe, you look stunning in your two peice suit as well."

Chloe and Nafeesat were communicating as if they have know each other since forever. This automatically brought a smile to my face feeling genuinely happy that my best friends was back like she never left. Once she and her date took lots of photos we all arrange ourselves for the group photo. I am really glad I changed my mind and decided to attend, I found have been heart broke if i missed it.

The smile on our face only got wider when we all entered the hall. Daphne Okeke and Thomas mope Damijo the social and Assembly prefect really out did themselves on this one. Everything in the hall had a touch of glitter, the Chandelier, the chair, the Ceramics plate arrange every thing was perfect not a single thing was out of place.

It was simply perfect and I loved it, it was clear that we all loved it by the looks of Awe on our faces. We found a table for eight at the center of the hall so we could all sit at the table. Daphne and her date were the ones who came up stage to anchor the program,she was wearing a black long ball gown with a sweat heart neck line her date was address in a simple back tuxedo.

" ladies and gentleman. Welcome to the prom ever celebrating in the history of Wesley Academy."

That was all I heard before we all zone out and zone into our table. Everyone at our table was discussing what we wanted to appetizer and main course. I wasn't in the mood of all those yeye appetizers so I just ticked amala Gbegiri and ewedu as main course. In that moment Chloe announced saying.

"Omo, how am I suppose to eat my gbegiri and ewedu with this white I am wears now."

I wasn't even surprised at her choice of meal. She ticked the box non the less squeezing her face at the menus lists. Samuel was just looking at her wonder where his posh prime and proper babe went to. I giggle at his facial expressions knowing Joel will probably have the same look on this face when he realized I and Chloe picked the exact same thing.

"What, haven't you seen me eat swallow before? Biko no dey look me like say I shit for body. Ehhen ojare Zoe what did you pick?"

" Confirm two wraps of Amala with gbegiri and Ewedu with head of fish."

"that was the exact same thing I choose! Ha! Gbasibe sister mi!!"

She exclaimed giving me a high five across the table. We all laughed out loud as that looking at the menus list again so we could decide what we wanted for Appetizer. While we are at it nafeesat spoke up  say what she wanted as main course.

" well if my best friend is going Sold on this one. Who am I to complain. I'll have two wraps of Amala, Gbegeri and Ewedu with gbokoto to go with it."

" oooshey and if my babe is good sold, who am I to oppose her."

Thomas mope Damijo said in conclusion and we all laughed at him. The rest decided to keep it simple as they chose and ticked the box of fried rice and Jollof rice instead. The  waiter for our table dressed in over all royal blue came to collect our Menu and Chloe just had to yell.

"Don't forget the water to wash hand ooo!! Bikonu I don't use spoke to eat swallow."

"Chloe!?!"

" Osi gini? what? I can't make request again ni? Biko see they are giving awards, try dey listen."

I laughed and shock my head at chloe. This girl can be something else when she wants to be and she always does it even you least expected. Chia she truly was my twin sister with a Difference. We listener to the program as different award were presented on stage, some of the teachers got awarded as well. We were glad that even though we didn't participate liked this we were happy he bagged two awards for being the more Strict and principal teacher in all of Wesley Academy. It was not other than our mathematics teach who for some reasons his name wasn't coming to mind.

" The next category of awards got to the honorable student of Wesley Academy. But before that small tables will be passed round to select you choose of prom king and queen."

While the award presentation was going on  our food was being served. Shortly after the table to choose our prom king and queen was hanged to us. The Nominatee for queen were Matilda Olatuji, Chloe Babajide, Nafeesat Umaru and Zoe Babajide.  It was a tough choice because I had to pick My best friend and my sister. Not the less I was able to pick one which was obvious not me or Matilda.

The Nominatee for prom king were Jayson Mustapha, Thomas mope Damijo, Samuel Dawson and Antonio Adebowale this was another thought choose one I wish I didn't have to make. I eventually picked any one at random and returned the tablets to the weighers waiting to collect it. Once it give them them, they left my table as we continued eating as they continued eating.

" the award of the best dress for tonight goes tooo, drunm rollllsss... Thomas mope Damijo and Nafeesat Umaru !!!"

We were all surprised but mostly happy for her for them, but mostly for Nafeesat. Screams, hoots and catcall were heard altogether from different sides of the hall. I was just glad she was already done eating so it was easy for her to get up and head to the stage.

Honestly I couldn't be more proud of my best friend. In that moment when she went to collect the award the sound Best Friend by Saweetie and Doja cat was playing. She was made to stay i preset the award to most SoCal male and female, which went to Molly and Muyiwa. After all the award has bee share it was Time to announce the prom king and queen.

" and the prom king and queen of Wesley Academy is.... Chloe Babajide and Jayson muatpha!!! Pls come up stage to receive your crown."

There I was on stage the crowd going wild as the song stand up for the championship was playing. a crown on my head a bouquet of flowers and a Sash that say Prom queen hanged from my shoulder to my waist. i had mixed feeling at tht point because i had never for once expected it. al this while i was certain so sure that prom queen was going to be either Matilda or Zoe but here i was, standing on stage holdingthat title like I just won the Olympics. i was still an emotion mess on stage trying my best not to cry because i didnt want to ruin my makeup, besided i was finding it so hard to believe that i was prom queen.

"May I have this dance, my queen."

Jayson said streching his hands out to me looking more composed than ever like he had some sorth of idea that he was going to be prom king. in that moment, painful memories of how he asked Matilda to prom came flooding my mind but i had to remind myself what a wise woman once said. Don't focus on the past or you'll miss the future. I smiled reminding my self of those wise words from. Enola homes's mother. Such a wise woman I must confess

"May I?"

"You may, my King."

I cringed at that statement why the hell say that not only do not mean it, it also doesn't look good on me. Either ways I had had to cover it up with a smile faking every minute of it. in that moment the song Grenade by Bruno Mars started play, shortly after that every thing began to go south as i began to notice some suspicious activities. Apparently some people decided to focus on the past that why they choose of ruin our future. Since Zoe and I were now known as the kids of the of not just the leader of the Aye but the famous drug lord who was running for President before he got assassinated. My biological  late father. Our  prom was attacked raided and ruined by some Anonymous cult group, in the mist of its all, Jayson  proved his love for me  by taking a bullet on my behalf while In Zoe's case I saw Nafeefat bleeding by the neck this only means that she also took a bullet on Zoe's behalf.
