As night fell, the blue haze of day lifted to reveal the stars, and the moon blessed it's presence. The white glow was reflecting the pure rays of the golden sun and became as beautiful as daylight.
And sitting below them, staring up at the stars, her hands reached out as she let the butterfly rest on her finger with wings of black and purple. Allowing the iridescent glow dance lightly on her fingers and slowly swirling in the air she made the butterfly too dance under her control, and eventually set it free back to the sky.
Sensing a presence, the woman's eyes averted away to her right when she noticed a figure walking towards her, a small smile slowly appearing on her face.
The other woman came to a halt, perfect red curls but the eyes were just like hers, and matching the same expression on her face too. "She's finally here." The brunette woman sighed in relief with happiness beaming inside of her.
Continuing to speak, the smile never left both of their faces. "She's beautiful. She looks just likeβ" she trailed off.
The brunette woman cut her off. "It is her," she replied back. "What's wrong?" She took notice of the frown on the other.
"Are you sure about this sister?"
"We don't have a choice," she sighed.
"Butβ"
"It's the only way she can survive," she murmured. "It has to be her."
"She's just a child," the younger woman whispered. "It's not right."
"I know but when the time arrives she will be guided." She reached out to grab her sister's hand.
Her eyes widened. "What?" The older between the two, nodded at her silent question.
The woman hesitated for a moment then nodded. "What if they find out about her?"
"They won't," she reassured her. "Now we must inform of this news to the others and prepare."
Neither realised that this wasn't just the key to bringing peace back but also opening a door to a world of endless torment for this innocent.

Β Β Evelyn sipped on her lemonade absently, gazing out at one of the windows in the Salvatore's living room. Damon had told her not to worry about the sacrifice. That he and Stefan would take care of it, but she still worried about it. She worried about how Elena felt about the entire thing.
"Eve? Evelyn?" She blinked, turning to her side to find Damon taking a seat besides her. "What are you thinking about?"
"The sacrifice," she mumbled.
Damon sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Do we really need to have another conversation about this again?"
"Damon, my sister could die?! Don't you understand how that makes me feel? How Elena must be feeling? So of course i'm going to keep thinking about it and Katherine said he will kill my family too," Evelyn scowled, slowly taking deep breaths to calm herself.
Damon made Evelyn face him. "I am not going to let anything happen to Elena," he promised. "And I will keep you safe."
Evelyn sighed, resting her head against Damon's shoulder, his own arms wrapping around her and rubbing her arm. "I know you will."
"This Kevin is getting on my nerves," she mumbled and felt Damon chuckle.
She pulled away from his arms, giving him a teasing smile. "So are you getting to tell me what's going on you between you and Rose?"
"Shut up."
ββββββββββ
"Are you sure you're okay, Evie?" Jenna asked, the concern was written all over her face when she took notice of how slightly pale Evelyn looked.
Evelyn tiredly nodded. "It's just one of those migraines again. I've taken my medication for it. Don't worry."
Jenna eyed her and sat down on the bed, taking Evelyn's face in her hands and pressed the back of one to her forehead.
"Aunt J," Evelyn laughed and moved her hand away.
Jenna sighed. "Okay. I'm going to work now but I want you to rest," she ordered sternly.
"Gladly," Evelyn smiled and laid back under her covers. Jenna returned a smile back, pressing a kiss to her forehead and walked out of the room. "I love you!"
"I love you too!"
Minutes passed by when the door to her room opened up again and she turned to see who it was, her smile brightening when it was Bonnie.
"Bon Bon!" She extended her arms out for her and Bonnie engulfed her in a warm hug.
"Jenna just told me you weren't feeling well?" Bonnie asked, taking Evelyn's face in her hands.
Evelyn rolled her eyes, taking her hands in hers. "She's exaggerating." Bonnie raised a brow in question but gave up when Evelyn kept smiling at her.
"Why are you here?"
"Elena called me before. Where is she by the way?"
"Elena!" Evelyn screamed. "Elena Marie Gilbert! Get your ass over here!"
"Calm down," Elena laughed as she entered her twin's bedroom.
"I have the moonstone." Bonnie brought out the moonstone from her bag.
Evelyn snatched it off Elena before she could take it and stuck her tongue out, laughing when Elena rolled her eyes.
"Now that you've got this back, what are you going to do with it?" Elena asked Bonnie.
"Right now it's what's binding the sun and the moon curse. If I can figure out a way to remove the spell from the stone, the stone becomes useless," Bonnie informed them whilst Evelyn threw the stone in the air and caught it back.
"And according to Katherine, Klaus becomes vengeful," Elena murmured.
"It's Kevin, Elena!" Evelyn groaned, burying her face in her hands. "K E V I N. How many times have I told you?"
"Kevin?" Bonnie raised a brow, turning to face Evelyn.
"His name gives Eve the heebie jeebies," Elena explained.
"It bothers me a lot," Evelyn told Bonnie. "His name makes me feelβ" She shook her body and dramatically laid back down the bed.
"Forget about that. Bonnie, can this wait? Stefan is stuck in the tomb with Katherine. We've got to get him out." Elena argued.
Bonnie gestured at the spell book in her lap. "Stefan wants me to focus on this." Evelyn sat back up, shifting closer to Bonnie and placing her chin on the witch's shoulder to take a peek at the grimoire.
"Don't listen to him. He thinks that he's protecting me but he's wrong," Elena ranted and Bonnie sighed.
"I'm taking Stefan's side with this one. We're not gonna let you get used in some creepy sacrifice ritual."
"I agree," Evelyn piped in and returned her attention back to attempting to read the grimoire. "What's that one about?" She asked Bonnie who explained it to her.
"What are you guys arguing about?" Jeremy asked, coming into the room.
"Jeremy. Rude. Ever heard of knocking?" Evelyn threw a pillow at him and he chuckled, throwing it back to her.
"We're not arguing about anything," Bonnie stated and stood up. "I need a coffee." She left the siblings alone.
Elena huffed and sat on the edge of Evelyn's bed. She looked up to find her sister and brother staring at her. "What?"
"Why are you on some suicide mission?" Jeremy asked.
"I'm trying to prevent everyone else from getting hurt," Elena snapped.
"Oh so, bringing Klaβ Kevin." He turned to Evelyn and she sent him an appreciated nod. "The moonstone so you can get yourself killed is okay?" Jeremy rolled his eyes then left the room.
"Eve?" Evelyn looked over at Elena.
"Funny how you think i'm going to agree with you on this," she sarcastically laughed. "You promised we'd stick together.," she mumbled, glancing down at her hands. "I don't want to lose you too."
"You have to understandβ"
"Nope." Evelyn stood up. "I have understood very well and I will not let this happen." She stormed out of the room and into the kitchen where Bonnie was preparing herself a coffee.
"She's still refusing?" Bonnie asked.
"Mhm." Evelyn nodded.
A few moments later, the girls made their way to the stairs to see Elena walking down. "Where are you going?" Bonnie questioned.
"To see Stefan," Elena replied.
"You're lying," Evelyn narrowed her eyes.
"No, I'm not."
"Really?" She asked skeptically. "Tell your face."
"Are you serious?" Elena scoffed.
"She took the moonstone," Jeremy called, holding up the empty bag from behind Elena.
Shocked, Elena spoke. "How did youβ"
"We tested you, and you failed," Bonnie sighed.
"Klaus killed Katherine's entire family just because she crossed him. I can't let that happen," Elena told them.
Evelyn bit her lip nervously, she didn't want to admit it out loud but she was afraid that Klaus would kill her especially after what Rose said about him made her more worried and paranoid.
Bonnie stepped aside and Elena opened the door. She took a step only to be blocked by an invisible force. She pressed her hand against it, but was unable to go outside.
Evelyn and Jeremy shared a look, a smug smile tugging at the corner of their lips as they gave each other a fist bump. They pointed at Elena, laughing when they noticed the scowl on her face.
"What did you do?" Elena snapped at Bonnie.
"It's for the best, Elena," Bonnie murmured.
Evelyn reached out, wondering if the spell kept her inside too. Her hand passed the air and she cheered. "Yay! I can go out," she beamed with a vibrant smile. "Bye." She waved at them.
"Oh and Elena. Enjoy the warm sun," she smirked. "Oh wait, you can't." She mocked her sister. Elena jerked forward but the spell stopped her again. "Catch me if you can. Oh you can't do that either," she pouted and laughed.Β
ββββββββββ
"You're being unfair, Damon!" Evelyn waved her arms out in the air. "I only want to check up on Stefan."
"No," Damon sternly ordered. "I don't want you near Katherine."
"But Stefan's there," Evelyn reasoned, following him around and grabbed his arm, making him whirl around to face her. "Pretty please." She batted her eyelashes at him.
"Don't give me that look," he groaned, covering his eyes with his hands.
"Damon," she softly spoke. "Have I told you what an amazing friend you are?"
"Not the voice too." He covered his ears and spoke over her. "And you're lying."
"True but please can I go."
"No. You're not going. End of," he ordered and she slumped her shoulders, walking away from him.
"Stefan's better than you anyways," she mumbled.
Damon sighed, placing his hands on her shoulder and turned her back to him. "Eve, it's for your own safety especially with what happened yesterday."
"But I didn't intentionally get myself into trouble," she scowled.
"Intentional or unintentional, you somehow end up in the middle of trouble," Damon said and she glared at him.
"Nice try," he laughed and she kept her ground, still glaring at him although she was terribly failing at it.
"Fine." She gave in. "I won't go to see Stefan."
"See? That wasn't hard enough," he smiled earning an eye roll from her. "Now I need to go, so let me take you back to your house."
"No." Evelyn quickly shook her head. "I want to stay and spend some time with Rose. She needs girl company. Too much of your egotistical testosterone is making her feel suffocating."
Damon rolled his eyes. "She loves my presence," he scoffed.
"I'm sure she does especially tangling her under those nasty sheets of yours," Evelyn teased, wiggling her brows and nudging him.
Damon rolled his eyes and she laughed. "Bye." He left the house.
"You're going to see Stefan, aren't you?" Evelyn turned around to see Rose smiling at her.
"Duh," she cheekily smiled in return. "One way or another it was going to happen."
Rose chuckled and Evelyn continued to speak. "I promise I will be back in a few hours before Damon comes back and you'll have my full attention and you can pick the movie this time."
Rose nodded and watched as Evelyn huffed, struggling to place a huge backpack over her shoulder. "Here, let me help." Rose gently placed it over her.
"Thank you," Evelyn softly replied.
"What's it for anyways?"
"Supplies for Stefan. He must be so hungry. See you later," she hugged Rose then left.
ββββββββββ
Stefan ignored Katherine's flirtatious remarks towards him when he heard a soft voice, huffing from outside the tomb. "Stupid bag." The voice grumbled. "Why is this door so heavy?" Stefan stood up and Katherine was now curious too.
The tomb door slightly opened and Evelyn peeked her head in. "Hi Stefano," she beamed with a bright smile.
"Eve? What are you doing here?" Stefan asked.
"I wanted to check up on you. Now can you use your vamp strength because human me can not open this door," Evelyn said. "And I look like a creep talking to you like this." She gestured to herself which had been her head, the only part, sticking through the little space.
Stefan opened the tomb and stopped Evelyn when she was about to step in. "Don't come in," he said.
"But I want to hug you," Evelyn murmured. "You don't want a hug?"
"I do." He looked over his shoulder to meet Katherine's eyes. "I don't want you to get hurt." He glanced back at Evelyn.
"Relax." Katherine rolled her eyes. "I won't touch a strand of her precious hair." Stefan still looked suspicious. "I promise," she mocked and raised her hands up in surrender.
"She promised. Can I hug you now?" Evelyn urged to Stefan.
Stefan smiled and nodded, Evelyn stepped in and crushed her body against his as he wrapped his own arms around her.
"Elena's worried for you," she murmured and Stefan sighed. "And she's also on a suicide mission to save us all from Kevin." Katherine snorted at that.
"Are you still going to call him that?" Stefan asked.
"Of course I will. Anyways I come bearing with gifts." Evelyn smiled, and stepped back out of the tomb to grab the bag. "It's a little heavy." She dragged it across the floor, huffing and entering back inside the tomb.
"How am I still unhealthy when I dance?" She asked herself and shrieked when she tripped over her own foot.
Stefan used his speed and quickly caught her before she fell. Katherine stepped a little forward to help Evelyn but quickly moved back in her spot.
"Careful," Stefan scolded lightly. "You're so clumsy." He chuckled and Evelyn gave him a sheepish smile.
She began unpacking the bag and spoke up, "So I brought candles because it's dark in here and this place definitely needs light." She handed them to Stefan as he lit them up with the matchstick and placed them around. "I got a blanket as well and food since you look a little weak."
"You didn't have to, Eve," Stefan said.
"I would've kidnapped a squirrel or a rabbit for you but that's cruel. It's illegal too and I don't want a criminal record at a young age, never actually, also it was very hard to find one in the woods so Caroline gave me this," she rambled as she took a blood bag out for him. "It's not human blood so don't worry."
"Eve?" Stefan called and Evelyn looked up at him. "Breathe." He chuckled and she waved him off.
"I got you a blood bag too, Kit Kat." Evelyn happily skipped over to Katherine and handed the blood to her. Katherine studied her for a second, the warm smile was still plastered on Evelyn's face. She was too kind and selfless for her own good even after everything she's done to her friends.
"Thank you," Katherine whispered and took it from her.
"That's not even the best part." Evelyn walked back to where Stefan. "Guess what else I got?"
"What?" Stefan asked and Evelyn tsked.
"Guess."
"Ice cream?" He asked.
"Well that and my lemonade for myself though. I actually made myself lunch but i'm going off topic. I actually have some board games for us to play!" She clapped her hands excitedly. "Since you must be really bored in here."
"Great," Katherine muttered sarcastically under her breath.
"I didn't know what to get so I got cards, monopoly, uno, snakes and ladder. This is going to be fun." Evelyn laid the blanket on the floor and sat down on it, taking her packed lunch and board games out of the bag. "So what shall we play?" She asked, flickering her eyes over to Stefan and Katherine.
"You want me to play?" Katherine asked and Evelyn nodded frantically. "No way." She shook her head.
"If you say no she'll throw a tantrum," Stefan murmured to Katherine.
"Are they any rats around here?" Evelyn asked, glancing around the tomb. "Because i'm not in the mood to share my food," she giggled.
"Does Damon know you're here?" Stefan asked and Evelyn's eyes widened a little but she quickly recovered it with a blink so he didn't notice.
"Hey! You ignored my question," she pointed out.
"You're ignoring mine now." He pointed back. "Eve?"
"Of course he knows. In fact, Damon dropped me off but he had to do something urgent," she said and Stefan squinted his eyes, not believing her.
"I don't believe you and Damon most certainly would not leave you alone here," he said.
"You caught me." She sighed in defeat. "I only wanted to check up on you and he said no but i'm Evelyn. Nobody tells me what to do," she sassed.
"Of course you would do that." Stefan pinched the bridge of his nose. "Why don't you ever listen?"
"It's boring especially when it's Damon. Now what game shall we play?" She asked, laying the board games in front of her. "Come on Kit Kat, don't just stand there." She beckoned her to sit down.
"He's going to get mad at you," Stefan stated.
"No he won't. I'll be gone before he's finished with whatever he's doing," Evelyn shrugged.
ββββββββββ
"Evelyn!" Damon shouted out when he opened the door to the tomb. Evelyn's eyes widened when she was met with a fuming Damon glaring down at her and she tried to hide behind Stefan.
"You're seeing things. This is all part of your imagination," she cooed in an eerie voice and gestured weird movements with her hands.
He glanced over to Stefan and Katherine, narrowing his eyes down at them when he took in the scene. The vampires were sat on the floor with Evelyn, playing snakes and ladders. "I'm not even going to bother asking what the hell is going on here." He shook his head.
"And you." He pointed at Evelyn. "I'm taking you home. Get up."
"But i'm close to winning this game," she whined.
"She cheated most of the time," Katherine mumbled to Stefan.
"And I'm close to losing my mind." Damon argued. "Why are you always doing the opposite of what I say?"
"Because it's fun," Evelyn shrugged but Damon had his lips pressed tightly in a thin line.
"I don't find it funny," he said.
"Killjoy," she mumbled and stood up. "Goodbye Stefano." She hugged him.
"Goodbye Kit Kat." She waved and Damon tugged her away from the vampire.
"You don't need to say bye to her," Damon grumbled to Evelyn.
"That would be rude of me," Evelyn retorted and Damon rolled his eyes, holding her bag in his hand and led her outside.
"I promised Rose i'll spend the rest of the day with her so don't take me home yet," Evelyn told Damon when they settled inside the car and he drove.
"What about me?" He frowned and she rolled her eyes.
"You need to make more friends." She patted his arm. "I know you love me and crave for my attention but it's seriously getting worrying now. You have a sad life."
"I don't have a sad life," he mumbled.
"Yes you do," Evelyn nodded, laughing until a sharp pain throbbed on the side of her head. "Ow," she immediately threw her hands towards it, wincing and hissing.
Damon quickly turned to her, parking the car on the side of the road. "What's wrong? Eve?" Tilting her chin to face him, he looked over at her.
"It's nothing to worry about," Evelyn closed her eyes for a moment and took deep breaths. "I hate migraines."
Damon slowly nodded and started the car, driving back on to the road. Evelyn glanced back at the window, trying to ignore the pain.
ββββββββββ
"Damon, you better have a good reason why your text message was more important than my boys Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes on my TV screen!" Evelyn shouted as soon as she set foot inside the boarding house, the following morning.
She stopped to a halt when she seen Rose in the living room, her eyes squinting at what appeared to be a nasty wolf bite on the back of her shoulder. "Oh my God. What happened?" She gasped, covering a hand over mouth.
"She got bit by a wolf," Damon answered with a low voice.
"Oh Rose, you're shivering," Evelyn whispered and quickly grabbed a blanket, tucking it around her shoulders. "You look like you need a hug too." She embraced the vampire who smiled at her gratefully.
"Want to explain how she got it?" Evelyn asked as she rubbed Rose's back and glanced up at Damon. He sighed and explained what happened.
"So you pissed off a werewolf on a full moon?" Evelyn seethed with a hint of anger and Damon winced at the tone.
"Yes," he mumbled and she tutted, rolling her eyes.
"Go do something useful and pour her a glass of blood," she ordered. Damon stood still. "Why are you still standing here?" She clicked her fingers and he scurried away.
Evelyn crouched down in front of Rose. "Give me your hands, let's keep them warm." Rose placed her shaky hands in Evelyn's and she rubbed them, giving her a soft smile.
She gasped when she felt a weird sensation shiver across her spine and it confused her more what this unknown feeling was. Brushing her thoughts away and the constant aching headaches, she focused on keeping Rose warm.
Damon strolled back into the room, handing Rose a blood bag from down in the cellar. "C'mon, it's just a little werewolf bite."
Evelyn glared at Damon and he averted his gaze away from her. This Evelyn was scary and one he didn't want to deal with at all.
"Just a little, fatal to a vampire, werewolf bite," Rose laughed bitterly.
Evelyn frowned. Whatever she was feeling was bothering her. A lot.
"Wellβ" He shrugged. "According to a legend, which is notoriously unreliable source," he pointed out. "Drink up." He handed her some of the blood in a glass. "Blood heals."
Rose took a few sips. "Yeah. It does feel like it's working."
"Let's have a look. Come on." Damon peeled the blanket down a little to reveal her shoulder and the wolf bite was now spreading down her back. Evelyn bit her lip, refraining from grimacing and making a sound.
"How is it?" Rose asked warily.
"Definitely better," he lied. "Right, Eve?"
Evelyn gave a tight nod and held Damon's hand, dragging him away from Rose and out of earshot. "She's going to die isn't she?"
Damon sighed and nodded. "Probably, the wolf bite caused some kind of infection and it's getting worse."
Evelyn zoned out for a moment and Damon took notice as she began to scratch her arms. "Eve, don't do that. We talked about this." He gently removed her hands. "What's wrong?"
"Iβ I don't know." She stammered, feeling confused with herself.
"I don't want her to die, Damon. She doesn't deserve this," she whispered, her eyes starting to grow glossy.
Damon pulled the empathetic girl in a hug. He knew a situation like this was overwhelming for her especially when she was attached to the person, and Rose was now one of them.
ββββββββββ
"Come on, Rose. You need to rest." Evelyn helped her up and into the bedroom. She fluffed the pillows and Rose smiled at her, sitting down on the bed. Rose sneezed and Evelyn handed her a tissue as she tucked her beneath the sheets.
"I hate this. I'm a vampire, I haven't had a cold in five centuries." Rose leaned against the pillows. "We don't get sick. When we die, it's fast and sudden and it's certainly not drawn out in illness."
Evelyn frowned. "That's enough talking about death."
"Such a human thing to say." Rose smiled at her lightly.
Evelyn pressed the back of her hand to her forehead. "Let's cool that temperature down." She went into the bathroom and came back with a wash rag, sitting besides Rose.
"No one's ever loved me the way you're loved," Rose murmured.
"I love you." Evelyn smiled softly and a small tear escaped Rose's eyes.
"You're the only person to ever show me kindness. I don't deserve it," Rose sniffled.
"Yes you do." Evelyn stroked Rose's hair away from her face, settling the wet rag across her forehead. "You deserve all the love in the world."
Rose chuckled then heaved a deep sigh. "I'm so tired," she murmured and closed her eyes. Evelyn quietly headed for the door. "No, stop, wait."
"Rose?" Evelyn called.
"Please stay," Rose pleaded. "Please."
"Well I do feel a little tired." Evelyn laughed and laid down, turning on her side to face Rose.
"I'm scared, Eve," Rose whispered and Evelyn caressed her hair gently.
"You're not alone. I'm right here," she assured her with a smile.
"Here, where's here?" Rose tried to sit up, confused and panicking.
Evelyn gently pushed her back down. "You're in Damon's bedroom."
Rose's eyes teared up. "I want to go home," she said with a small sob.
Evelyn bit her lip to stop herself from crying. "Tell me about it," she urged and Rose sniffled.
"St. Austell. 30 kilometers south of London. With fields and trees and horses." Rose closed her eyes, imagining the place she grew up.
"Sounds peaceful." Evelyn smiled.
"When you live long enough, everything disappears. So much time wasted, I just wish I wouldn't have been so afraid," Rose whispered regretfully and Evelyn took her hand, rubbing circles, gently.
"You make the pain go away," Rose mumbled.
Evelyn giggled. "I guess I have magic in my hands," she teased and Rose let out a weak laugh.
"Tell me more about your human life," Evelyn said and Rose continued.
As hours passed by Rose fell asleep and Evelyn also took a short nap for a while besides her. She quietly slipped out of bed and made her way out of the room when she stumbled upon on Elena. "Hey. I heard about Rose," she whispered.
"Yeah." Evelyn sighed. "Damon said she's not goingβ" She trailed off, struggling to say the words. "It's not fair." She ran a hand through her hair.
"I know." Elena gently rubbed her sister's arm.
Evelyn went back into the bedroom and frowned. "Rose?" She called when she wasn't anywhere in sight. "Oh, no." She ran back out of the room. "Elena, Rose isn't in the room!" She yelled.
ββββββββββ
Evelyn frantically searched around the school where Rose most likely had been after being informed by Liz of an attack. Turned out, Rose managed to slip away as soon as night arrived, Elena called Damon and Evelyn panicked, blaming herself for leaving Rose by herself.
"Eve?" Damon jogged over to her, noticing the distressed look on her face.
"I'm so sorry, Damon. It's all my fault and now she's missing. I shouldn't have left her," her lips quivered a little. "She's alone now."
"Hey, it's not your fault. We'll find her okay?" He cupped her cheeks and Evelyn nodded. "Here, take this," he handed her a wooden stake and she frowned, looking down at it.
"You want me to kill her?!" She whispered harshly.
"Just keep it with you," Damon said. "Go back to your sister and i'll find Rose."
Evelyn gave her a hesitant nod, "Okay." She walked away, watching as he ran to the other direction to search for Rose.
She froze when hearing something and then quickened her pace when she arrived at the parking lot. Evelyn found Rose draining a girl.
"Rβ Rose?" She gasped timidly and the vampire's head snapped up with deadly eyes locked on her, blood dripping from her mouth and she scowled, speeding over to Evelyn and slamming her against the wall.
Evelyn eyes widened, eyes full of terror. "No, Rose. It's me, Eve," she shook her head and pleaded. She reached out to grab the stake from her back pocket, ready to stake her on the stomach as a distraction to call Damon but it was too late. She felt Rose's fangs at her neck as she tore into it.
Evelyn screamed, trashing and sobbing as she reached a hand out, and dug her fingers into Rose's injury, a burning sensation caused the vampire to hiss and Evelyn used her strength to push Rose away, gasping when she didn't realise she pushed her away too hard.
Rose groaned and stared back up at Evelyn, who looked more terrified and shocked than ever. She stood up, ready to attack Evelyn again but Damon sped over to them.
"Rose, Stop!" Damon yelled and Rose sped towards him to attack him, the both of them hit the ground and Damon pinned her to the ground until Rose relaxed.
She looked up at Evelyn, her eyes directly looking at the bite on her neck. "Did I do this?" Rose whimpered. "I never meant to hurt anyone. I never wanted to hurt anyone. I'm sorry, Eve. I'm so sorry."
"It's okay.I'm okay, Rose," Evelyn spoke up and Elena came running up to them.
"I hurt her. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," Rose sobbed over and over.
"C'mon, let's get you home," Damon murmured.
"No, I don't have a home, I haven't had a home in a long time," she sobbed hysterically. "Oh make it stop, please make it stop! I hate it, make it stop!" She begged, her voice was full of pain.
Evelyn bit her lip to stop herself from crying and felt a hand stroke her back, looking to her side. Elena's eyes widened, when she noticed the blood dripping down from her sister's neck. "Oh my God," she gasped. "Damon?" Elena looked at Damon to help her sister.
Damon looked up at Evelyn, his eyes full of regret and she nodded at him, letting him know she was fine.
"Take her home," Evelyn told him. "Caroline's at the school. She'll heal me."
Damon hesitantly nodded and picked up Rose in his arms, speeding away with her.
"Come on," Elena made her sit down, hugging her close to her as they waited for Caroline who arrived within seconds Elena had called her.
"Where is she?" The blonde's eyes widened when she seen Evelyn holding a hand over to her neck. "Let me see." Caroline moved Evelyn's hair to the side and grimaced. "Here," Caroline bit into her palm, offering her blood to Evelyn.
She took her hand and drank it, letting it heal the wound as she felt Elena caress her hair and tiredly leaned against her.
ββββββββββ
Evelyn was sitting on the bed, helping fight back Rose's fever with a wash cloth. Damon had scolded her for returning back in fear that she would get hurt again but all she had done was walk past him and ignore his complaints. She just wanted to help Rose and be there for her. She didn't want her to be alone in this.
Rose fluttered her eyes open slowly. "Hi," Evelyn smiled, giving her a small wave.
"I hurt you. I'm sorry, Eve," Rose whispered.
"I'm fine. Look, all healed up," Evelyn pointed to her neck. "Fun fact that was the first time a vampire bit me. Hopefully my last too," she nervously laughed to ease the tension and Rose returned a small smile.
"I don't like taking human life, I never have."
"It's okay, Rose. No one blames you," Evelyn told her.
"It's the worst part about death," Rose continued. "The hunt. The need to kill. The thirst, the pleasure it brings you afterwards. I wasn't meant to be evil. It hurts."
"Then stop talking about it," Damon told her and turned away. He was frustrated that he couldn't do a thing to stop this from happening to Rose.
Rose ignored him and looked at Evelyn. "Damon's a lot like me. He wants to care but the second he does he runs away from it."
"I know," Evelyn murmured and met Damon's gaze. He had to look away from the understanding in her eyes.
"Damon, can you give us a few minutes?" He nodded and left. Evelyn turned back to Rose and brought her closer in her own arms
"Why are you so nice to me?" Rose asked and Evelyn stroked her cheek.
"Because you've done nothing wrong to me," Evelyn whispered, a playful smile playing on her lips. "Well besides the kidnapping but you made it up with chocolates, right?" Rose gave her weak laugh.
"They're all so lucky to have you, Eve," Rose whispered in a hoarse voice. "You're always putting others before you and not many people in this world are as selfless like you."
Evelyn had tears in her eyes, she knew what was about to happen. "This is the part where we say goodbye, isn't it?"
"I'm afraid so," Rose nodded and Evelyn gulped the lump forming in her throat.
"I'm going to miss you, Rose," Evelyn sniffled. "And I know we've known each other for a short time but you've easily become a great friend to me."
"So have you," Rose said and Evelyn let out a quiet sob.
"I hope you find true happiness, Eve," Rose murmured softly. "A beautiful and kind soul doesn't deserve hardship and suffering in this cruel world."
"And you deserve peace so I hope you find it and your family," Evelyn told her.
"It's been a pleasure knowing you, Eve. Goodbye," Rose smiled.
"Goodbye Rose," Evelyn leaned down and placed a kiss on her cheek. Wiping the tears away, she stood up and ran towards the door, looking back at Rose who gave her a weak smile and waved at her.

"Damon?" Evelyn called from the living room, sitting up when Damon came down the stairs.
"I thought you went home with Elena," Damon said, pouring himself a drink.
"I wanted to make sure you were okay first," she said, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
"I'm okay. I'm just glad it's over," Damon muttered, sitting down on the couch next to her. He drained the glass in one go.
"Damon, you know I don't believe that. You cared about her didn't you?" Evelyn asked. "I'm your friend, you can tell me." She shifted closer to him.
Damon sat in silence for a moment before answering. "I feel Eve, okay? And it sucks! What sucks even more is that it was supposed to be me. Jules wanted to kill me." His voice broke towards the end and tears were brimming in his eyes. He stood up, pacing around in the room and Evelyn watched him.
He felt a pair of arm around his waist and turned around when Evelyn embraced him tightly. He hesitantly wrapped his arms around her and cried silently, burying his face in her hair. "It's okay to feel," she mumbled against his chest and rubbed his back.

"Do you want me to get anything else?" Evelyn asked Jenna over the phone.
"Nope." Jenna replied back. The two spoke briefly for some time whilst Evelyn walked out of the store.
She shivered and wrapped her jacket around her tightly to keep herself warm whilst walking down the street towards her car. Her head was spinning with everything that had happened the past couple of days and all she wanted to do was sleep.
Taking her phone out again, she scrolled through her contacts then pressing it against her ear. "Hey, i got your message and i'm sorry for not being able to pick up your calls it's just been a rough, crazy couple of weeks." Evelyn sighed. "I miss you too and I wish you were here. Call me whenever you can."
She glanced down at the phone for a moment until she felt paranoid of being watched. She cautiously glanced around her surroundings but no one was around her.
She brought a hand out over to her neck where she was bitten, rubbing it and hissing when a sudden sparkling sensation was coursing through her veins and she looked down at her hands, eyes widening as a glow appeared on her palm, flickering.
"I've been watching too many Marvel movies," she murmured in shock.
Without awareness of the road and a car speeding towards her, Evelyn looked back up when the lights were on full beam and blinding her eyesight. She gasped when her back was met against a tree and a figure looming over her. "Elijah," she breathed out.
"Hello Evelyn," he smiled down at her.
"Elijah?" She asked again.
"Yes," he nodded.
"Now I'm definitely seeing things. It can't be," she whispered and reached out to pat him on his cheek then poked him on his chest returning back to pinch him on his cheek, tilting her head to the side and wondering if he was really standing in front of her.
"What are you doing?" Elijah hid the amused smile threatening to form on his lips.
"I think i'm going to faint," Evelyn mumbled as her mind drifted into a fog, darkness clouding her vision and almost close to falling backwards but Elijah immediately caught her in his arms.
I'm mentally drained out. So tired and I hate life. Moral of my story basically.
Klaus will be introduced early so about 3-4 chapters left till we meet him.
Someone complained about this in the last version and I know most of the Marvel movies weren't out at that time but this is a fanfic and I really don't care what wattpad Karen's say about it. People make this app so toxic. It's literally a reading and writing app.
Have a great day and love you.
