Today I was dragged out of bed. Literally – I'm not a morning person.

"Come on El." Jeremy says as he grabs my foot and starts to drag me as I grab onto the mattress, "It's the first day of school. It's the day you've been waiting for."

"Yeah Ellie, you're gonna meet Edward," Jenna says in amusement from the door of my room.

"I don't want to meet Ed. I wanna sleep." I whine as I grab onto my mattress as if it was a lifeline.

"Ok it's not for Ed, it's for me. It is my first day as a freshman." Jeremy persuades me and I groan.

"Fine. Fine. I'll go..." I say as I fall on the ground and crawl to the bathroom. After that, I got dressed (reminded Jen of her meeting) ate crepes (I made) and then Tyler came to pick me and Jer up – cause I'm not a really good driver and Jer doesn't have a license yet. Plus Bonnie went to pick up Care, Matt, and Vic.

"Ellie, you ready for everything to start?" Ty asks me.

"Nooo..." I groan.

"I thought you liked the dude." He says.

"I like him... Kinda... From the show. But right now he's like in this really intense phase and totally in love with my face." I tell him and he and Jer laugh. Laugh! The jerks.

"You do have a pretty face," Ty smirks.

"Duh, I'm gorgeous." I scoff. "Anyway, Hades and I planned the whole meeting thing. I'm gonna be chill and awesome like I am."

"Are you sure that's gonna work? Is that it? Doesn't Hades have more ideas?" Jer-bear asks.

"He wasn't actually that useful. Persephone is with her mother so he's kinda moody." I shrug.

"We're here!" Ty says.

We met with Care, Bonnie, Matty, and Vic in the corridor. Then I grabbed Care's hands and Bonnie's and walked with them until we reached the admissions office door (a few feet away though). And there they were the hot back (we looked like stalkers but who's he to talk?).

"He is hot." Care nods.

"And it's only his back." I grin. "Anyway let's go I got to go to the men's room."

"The men's room? Ellie are you sick?" Bonnie snorts.

"Of course not. That's just how OG Elena meets him. Besides I always wanted to know how it looks on the inside." I shrug and they laugh and go meet the others while I walk into the bathroom like I owe it. Some dudes looked at me weirdly and I just waved at them and them sometime later I got out (right on time may I add) and bumped into Steffy.

"Sorry," I say as if I'm really sorry and it wasn't on purpose.

"Isn't this the men's room?" He asks me confused.

"Yes, it is. I'm not mad, don't worry." I tell him with a smile, "It's a long story" And then I go to go around him and walk towards my friends with a grin. "Just met Edward!"

"That was it?" Vic asks me. And I frown.

"I mean yeah... Our true meeting will be in the cemetery." I tell her then turn to Jer, "Do you want to go with me to visit them?"

"Nah, I went the other day..." He says, "I'm gonna go to class, you should too."

Then we went to class. History class was the one from the show. And Bonnie even sent me the same text. I just smirked but didn't look at him. I'm not interested... After classes, I went to the cemetery. I didn't have a diary though, so I played Tetris on my phone. And then the crow appeared.

"Hi, birdie. Tell Ocean Eyes I said hi." I whispered to him then I stood up while the fog started to show and walked out of the cemetery. I didn't fall, though. I'm not that clumsy, plus I wasn't drinking. But then I turned around and turned around again and bumped into Steffy.

"Oh sorry again." I say, "We can't keep meeting like this. Are you visiting?"

"Um yeah. I was uh are you okay?"

"What? I'm perfect, just saw a crow it was pretty cool." I grin. "Anyway, I'm Elena. But please call me Ellie or El or whatever. I just don't like that name."

"I'm Stefan"

"Um, yeah I know, we have classes together." I nod. "Nice ring."

"Oh. Um, It's a family ring, yeah. I'm kinda stuck with it. It's weird, huh?"

"Not really, it's actually pretty cool. Big. But cool."

"Thanks, I guess."

"Uh me and my friends are going to the Grill together. You should come you know. Later. It'll be fun and we can get to know you."

"Sure. I'll be there."

"Great! We can deflower the mysterious thing you got going on." I smile and then I walk away. Yup. He's totally in love with my face. Ocean Eyes too though and he's kind of a jackass in the beginning.

That night me and my friends met in the Grill. When I got there with Jer they were already in our booth and we went to them. Jer seated next to Matt and I placed myself in Ty's lap (totally platonic, we're close.).

"Ooh, I told hot back to hang with us. If you guys don't mind." I tell them.

"Not at all." Care grins, "Now see if this is true. His name is Stefan Salvatore. He lives with uncle up at the old Salvatore Boarding House. He hasn't lived here since he was a kid. Military family, so they moved around a lot. He's a Gemini, and his favorite color is blue."

"Um... Yes to the name. It's actually his nephew or some shit but he does live in the Boarding House. I don't know about the rest, but the family isn't Military." I shrug.

"You got all of that in one day?" Bon-Bon asks.

"Oh, please, I got all that between third and fourth period." Care replies with a smirk. We all laugh.

"So Ellie when is mystery guy gonna get here?" Ty asks.

"Eh." I shrug, "He must be- Oh he's there!" I point him out. Then with his broody self Stef looks over to us and we wave him over. "Hey Steffy, grab a chair." He does as I say and sits down. "So these are my friends. That's Jeremy my brother, Matty-blue, his sister Vicky, Bonnie, Caroline, and this is Tyler. Guys this is the new guy. Stefan 'Cool Jacket' Salvatore." They snort.

"Cool Jacket?" Vicky asks.

"I mean yeah have you seen his jacket?" I shrug.

"So, tell us about you, Cool Jacket," Caroline asks him with a grin. I hear wedding bells... Not. Cause he's still hung up on my face. "Were you born in Mystic Falls?" They're pretending like I didn't tell them shit. Hehe.

"Mm-Hmm. And moved when I was still young." He replies and I can feel Tyler behind me stifling a laugh.

"Parents?" Bon-Bon asks.

"My parents passed away." He says.

"Oh, uh... Any siblings?" Matt asks trying to break the tension.

"None that I talk to. I live with my uncle." He replies and now Ty is full-on coughing behind me and I'm pinching his arm.

"But that means you do have siblings. Older or younger?" I ask him.

"An older brother. We don't really talk."

"Uh-huh. I guess he'll be here soon. I mean he wouldn't miss your first day." I smirk while Tyler pulls me up and pretends to go get drinks while laughing slightly. The dude needs control.

"So, Stefan, if you're new, then you don't know about the party tomorrow," Caroline says because what I just said created a really awkward silence. And he shakes his head.

"It's a back-to-school thing here at the falls," Bonnie says as we all nod in agreement. By now Ty is back and I'm replaced on his lap again.

"We're all going." Vicky nods.

"You should come, man." Jer agrees.

"Are you going?" He asks me. Just me. The dude couldn't be more obvious.

"I mean, I'm part of the 'we'. So yeah." I nod. The rest of the night was just light chatter and stuff. It was dope. Steffy did glance at me a lot which was kind of weird mainly because Tyler was stifling laughs behind me.

The next day in History was that really cool scene when Tanner should have been put in place. Not that it would work, but I tried anyway. I'm not OG Elena. It went like this:

"The Battle of Willow Creek took place right at the end of the war in our very own Mystic Falls. How many casualties resulted in this battle? Ms. Bennett?" Jackass Tanner asks Cinnabon.

"Um...a lot? I'm not sure. Like a whole lot." I laugh and high-five her. She's not wrong though.

"Cute becomes dumb in an instant, Ms. Bennett. Mr. Donovan? Would you like to take this opportunity to overcome your embedded jock stereotype?"

"It's okay, Mr. Tanner, I'm cool with it," Matty says casually and I grin at him while he grins back.

"Hmm. Elena? Surely you can enlighten us about one of the town's most significant historical events?"

"Elena? Not Ms. Gilbert? Tanner, the last time I checked we weren't friends." I snap at him.

"I was willing to be lenient last year for obvious reasons, Ms. Gilbert. But the personal excuses ended with summer break."

"There were 346 casualties. Unless you're counting local civilians." Steffy says.

Jackass Tanner glares at me and then turns to Stef, "That's correct. Mister...?"

"Salvatore."

"Salvatore. Any relation to the original settlers here at Mystic Falls?" The teach asks.

"Distant." And the Scooby gang (me included obvs.) snort quietly.

"Well, very good. Except, of course, there were no civilian casualties in this battle." Tanner says as if it's right. Pffft.

"Actually, there were 27, sir. Confederate soldiers, they fired on the church, believing it to be housing weapons. They were wrong. It was a night of great loss. The founder's archives are, uh, stored in civil hall if you'd like to brush up on your facts, Mr. Tanner." Stefan says and Matty high-fives him and I beam at Tanner's face. That was a great class.

Right now though we're at the beginning of the year party. Right now I'm with Bonnie and Care. And we're talking and drinking gin cause I hate beer and Bonnie and Care like it, it's better anyway. We're not drinking a lot though.

"So, Cinnabon, I just have to warn you to don't freak out if you touch Stef. Oh, and I also warned everyone to stay out of the woods." I tell them.

"Why?" Care asks me.

"Let's just say that at first Ocean Eyes wasn't the best of guys..." I tell them and they nod in understanding.

"What about Cool Jacket, is there something between you guys?" Bon-Bon asks me.

"Uh no. I just met the guy. Besides eh." I shrug.

"But he's hot!" Caroline exclaims just like that changes everything.

"Yeah he is hot and has a cool jacket, but Tyler and Matt are also cute and sometimes hot, and I'm not interested." I shrug.

"Come on, just admit it El," Bonnie demands.

"Bon-Bon, he's cute. That's it. He's way too Ed right now." I grin. "Anyway, what do you think of him?" I ask Care-Bear.

"I can't really have anything with him so..." She shrugs, "He's already whipped."

"Yeah..." I frown.

Then Steffy appears beside us.

"Hey! You made it!" Care beams at him.

"I did." He says simply. Urgh, he's so uptight.

"Um... We need to be somewhere, now..." Bonnie excuses herself and Care leaving me with Ed the creep. Bitch. (I glared at them).

"You know, you're kind of the talk of the town," I say like the OG Elena.

"Am I?"

"Uh yeah. You have this Edward Cullen vibe. Mysterious."

"The sparkly vampire?"

"Eh, I wouldn't call him a vampire. Fairy at most. Vampires are hotter." I grin at him and as he chokes on his beer.

"Well, you have the mysterious thing going on too. Twinged in sadness." He says.

"Duh. I'm Ellie. I'm mysterious." I shrug. "But what makes you think I'm sad?"

"We did meet in a cemetery."

"Yeah, well that doesn't mean I'm sad." I shrug. "And technically we met in front of a bathroom."

"You're right." He nods, "You're eyes. They're..."

"Awesome? Gorgeous? Different?" I ask him and he nods. "I got them from my parents." I grin. Yeah, yeah, corny.

"They are different." He agrees. "So what's your story?"

"Oh, you know the usual. Parents died in a bridge last spring." I shrug, "It's sad and everything but I am fine even Jer is moving on. What about you?"

"Parents passed away, not in contact with brother..." He shrugs with a sigh. "I- I like your friends. They seem like really good people."

"Yeah, they're the best. Best friends in the world." I grin.

"What about... Tyler?"

"Ty is my best friend. We always got along. He has some issues, but I help him through that." I tell him.

"Are you... together?" He asks and I snort.

"God no. We're totally platonic. I bet you have a friend like that too." I smirk and he nods. That's when some random dude comes screaming while carrying some girl (which is not Vic) and I find myself alone in the party. Well, Ocean Eyes is still being a dramatic bitch. Sigh...
