Wednesday, November 30th,1917

IT was the night before the young queen's nineteenth birthday and she couldn't sleep.

She tossed and turned around in her bed, finding her pillows were not comfortable enough, her positioning was not quite right and her mind was too lively and awake.

It was only an hour before the hands on the clock met twelve and she continued to stare up at the bare ceiling.

Counting sheep proved to be as futile as closing her eyes.

So she shot out of bed and grabbed her gown, believing a glass of water would do her justice.

She walked past Hadeon's room and made her way downstairs. She was aware that her brother went to the pictures with his lover and a few of his coworkers. Adrienne was worried about if the running time of the film would run past the city's curfew but fortunately, the majority of the people he was accompanied by were supernaturals...

But when did that ever stop the witch hunters?

As she reached the bottom of the stairs she was about to pass her father's office, but the sound of sniffling caused her to pause in her stance.

She leaned to the side with curious eyes, narrowing them as the sounds only got louder.

It couldn't be? She thought.

She never thought she would hear her father cry. Even during her mother's funeral, he barely shed a tear.

Men and emotions don't coincide, Unfortunately. He always wanted to be strong and just, but recently he had been anything but. He was a man grieving and the world wouldn't let him.

Adrienne gently pushed open the door, revealing what she had imagined only seconds before.

Erebus was sitting behind his desk, with an empty bottle in hand, a wrinkled shirt and bloodshot eyes. Tears stained his cheeks as his lip quivered in distress.

"Dad?" His daughter's voice caused him to slowly look up from the table.

He silently cursed himself for not confining himself to his room, where she wouldn't catch him being everything that he never wanted her to see.

...Emotional.

"Adri, go to bed," He advised, his voice coming out rough and raw, worsening his stinging throat.

His daughter found herself shuffling closer and shutting the door.

"What's wrong?"

"Get out." He slammed his hand down on his table, causing her to flinch back, he panicked when he caught her expression turn from worry to fright, "I-I'm sorry."

She took a step back, "Do you want me to go?"

Her voice was now timid and small, worried about upsetting him further.

He closed his eyes briefly, "No," he shook his head,ย  "I didn't mean to scare you."

She gave him a small smile, "You're grieving, I understand," She mumbled as she surveyed the bottles of liquor in the room.

They were all completely drained.

Tears welled up in Erebus' eyes again, "I just miss your mother so much," He croaked out, causing her to sit down in the chair opposite him and grab his hands for comfort.

She felt his body tremble under her touch.

Adrienne nodded stiffly, "I know."

"How do you deal with it?"

Curious, he sounded curious. He didn't understand why she wasn't acting like him...A mess.

Her brows furrowed, "With what?"

"You seem so put together." he motioned to her calm demeanour, "You're more like your mother than I thought."

She tensed and pulled away from him, vigorously shaking her head, "I don't believe that."

Her mind flashed with the heated images from her dreams. Correction: they couldn't have been more than beautiful nightmares.

He quickly wiped his falling tears, missing the frown that flashed across her face, "You are, she always seemed like nothing fazed her. She could fight her way out of her darkest moments with ease."

"Well, there was only one Kayara Lumiรจre." She plastered on a smile, flaring her nostrils slightly.

He gulped harshly, "And now she's gone."

Erebus felt defeated. Part of his soul had been burnt away when his wife perished.

Keyara Lumiรจre could do a lot of things but rising from the ashes was not one of them.

Erebus just wanted his love back, his wife, his everything.

The hurt that appeared across her father's face, sent shocks to her chest, she wished she could take his pain away, "Da-"

He cleared his throat, wincing at the strain it caused, "I'm keeping you awake before your birthday," he shot her a teary smile, "go to sleep little queen." He tried ushering her away, but she stayed put.

"No it's okay, I'll stay with you." She brought her chair closer.

It was the least she could do.

She's his daughter. His family and she couldn't just leave him.

"I wish I could've given you that broach your mother always used to wear." his voice cracked and his eyes glistened with unshed tears.

Her eyes widened before she squinted at him, "The broach..."

"You know the one she usually wore whenever I surprised her with a date." He smiled through his pain, "she wore it close to her heart," he placed a hand on his chest as he thought back to their intimate moments, which were more wholesome than anything.

He treasured every day he spent with his wife as if he knew she would be taken from him.

"Oh, that one." She murmured.

He noticed her mind working a million miles per minute.

"The red broach," he sighed and ran his hands over his thinly cut hair, "it complimented her in every way." He paused as his smile faded, "It's missing."

"She lost it?"

"No," he replied harshly and she ignored his tone, "she was wearing it the night she died...was murdered by those freaks," he spat viciously.

She leaned closer, "Do you think they took it?"

"They must have," He nodded, mainly to himself, before he choked back another sob,ย  "Hecate, why could've they have taken me instead?"

Her body stiffened, "Don't say that." She shook her head vigorously, tears threatened to spill from her eyes at his pitiful tone, "don't you dare say that," she gritted out.

"She was a better parent than me."

"No-"

"She was, she should be here."

"Dad. Stop." She stood up abruptly, taking him back, "you'll get through this, but this self-pity will not help you."

He threw his arms up in defeat, "So what do you suppose I do?"

He sounded as if he was pleading for guidance, pleading for a route out of this painful road he'd been heading down.

"Stop locking yourself away in your room-"

"It's the only place she still is with me."

"She's everywhere dad." She spoke in an obvious tone, he stared at her with a heartbroken expression, "She's even in my dreams."

"You dream about her?" Oh, he envied his daughter.

She nodded softly before she sat back down in her seat, "Most nights."

He huffed out a laugh, "If only I were that lucky. I only see her when I'm drunk and even then, she fades as soon as the liquor is drained from my blood."

"Perhaps with a clearer mind, her memory will still be pure." She spared a glance at the empty bottles that surrounded them.

"No."

"What?"

His face then lit up, which confused her.

"I need Voodoo."

Her eyes practically shot out of her skull, "You need Voodoo?"

"Marie."

She scoffed in disbelief, "You can't speak to Ms Laveau, she doesn't like requests."

He narrowed his eyes at her, "And how do you know that?"

She shifted uncomfortably, "It's as common as it is factual."

"Well she'll make an exception for me." his eyes glistened with hope.

Something he believed he had lost.

"How can you be so sure?" She pressed on.

"We have somewhat of a history."

His words made her mouth gape open, "And what do you mean by that?" Her brow raised questionably.

"Don't worry," he waved her off, only to make her even more curious. He quickly straightened out his appearance and ran a hand over his face, "she'll make an exception for me."

"Voodoo won't help matters and neither will she." She spoke pessimistically.

He gathered his things, ignoringย  her words, "I need to find that broach, not just for me but for our family, and something is blocking me from doing that, I've tried dozens of spells and I can't locate it."

"Maybe it's been destroyed."

"It can't be." He said definitively and she slowly rose.

"What do you mean?"

"Your mother made sure it couldn't be." He said as he pulled his coat off of the back of his chair, "it's indestructible," he informed his daughter, noting the shock on her face, "Nekane or Helmer have done something awful to your mother's keepsake, or they've tossed it somewhere not even a witch could locate it."

"The ocean?"

There were no beaches in New Orleans, meaning that the witch hunters must've travelled to several beaches in neighbouring towns and states, to dispose of it. The efforts they must've gone through to get rid of something she held dear only made them a bigger enemy of the Lumiรจre's, especially Erebus.

He froze momentarily, "I pray to Hecate they haven't." He threw his coat over his shoulders and ran a hand through his hair.

She stepped closer, attempting to stop him from leaving the room, let alone the house, "Dad-"

"I'm going to ask Marie for help and if she can't put my mind to rest then I fear I won't ever be able to recover."

Thursday, December 1st,1917

It was the first day of the last month of the year, also known as Adrienne Jasmine Lumiรจre's birthday.

The birthday girl woke up around noon, dragging herself out of her slumber due to the sound of cheers from the street.

She dreamt about her father's escapades, his words followed her into the subconscious. She couldn't let his misery ruin her day, she wouldn't let it.

Hadeon yelled when he entered his sister's room, jumping and hugging her despite her reluctance, he mumbled a quick happy birthday before leaving to get ready for her celebration at their family business.

Erebus left her a letter on her pillow, though he didn't bother speaking, clearly distraught and defeated after not getting the answers from Marie last night. He was quick to reenter his room until it was time to escort his daughter to The Saints.

Throughout her birthday, she received dozens of bouquets and cards from her confidants and friends.

When the clock hit ten, Adrienne was finished getting ready, her hair was curled to the side and her headband was placed around her head.

Pearls clung to her neck and her burgundy beaded dress hung loose on her frame.

Her youthful face glowed and insinuated her cheekbones.

Adrienne grinned when she felt a familiar presence enter the room, she moved over to sit on her bed and picked up the heels that rested there. Klaus leaned against the threshold of the door, a box in hand with a small bow tied around it.

His eyes didn't leave her, his infatuation was on a whole other level, and he couldn't make out what he felt, but it was something strong. The desire to be wherever she is was growing and he couldn't just ignore it. She was his last thought before he slept and the first thought when he woke.

Adrienne turned to him, smiling at how dashing he looked in his suit and gelled hair.

She beckoned him over with her finger, causing him to shut her door and he appear in front of her in a flash, he gently placed the gift next to her and picked up her shoes.

Her eyes widened when Klaus lowered down onto one knee and placed a heel on each foot, trailing a hand over her calf before tying the strap around her ankle.

"You look like you're about to propose." she teased, liking that he was on his knees for her.

The most powerful man in the world, on his knees for her. Adrienne couldn't place the feeling that coursed through her body.

"And you look like a dream," he pressed a kiss to her calf, making her heart beat out of its chest.

She smiled bashfully, whilst he got off the floor and helped her up as well, "my heart is beating so fast right now, I have no clue why, do you know why Nik?" she asked and tilted her head to the side.

"No idea beautiful." he shook her head and caught the playful glint in her eyes, she grasped his hand and placed it on her chest, his breath hitched when she made him grab her breast, and he suppressed the urge to groan.

"Are you sure?" she teased as his eyes darkened.

"I'm not sure."

"Remember the creole I taught you," he nodded dazedly, his gaze stayed on her chest, and he struggled to keep his primitive urges at bay, "tell me the body parts you remember, okay?" she asked innocently, "what are you touching?"

"I-i can't remember."

For the first time in years, his mind was blank and his trousers were uncomfortably tight.

She pouted, she let his hand travel until she grasped it again, "What colour of my eyes?" she asked and he went to speak but closed his mouth, he simply couldn't look away. She shrugged and moved his hand right below her waist, "What are you touching?" She made him grab her behind.

"Umm..."

She pushed him away and turned away and took a step towards the door, "Fine, I'll just have to ask Elijah then."

Her words made him sober up from his lust and grab her by the waist then spin her around, "Don't you dare."

His tone was sharp, which only turned her on more.

Why does he look sexy when he's mad? "Then tell me the word then Nik." she snaked her arms around his neck, pulling him closer.

He shook his head at her game, he didn't want his anger to overcome him, especially at the thought of his older brother laying his hands on her.

Klaus tried ignoring how his self-destructive thoughts were gnawing at his psyche, fortunately, her wandering hands distracted him.

His grip on her waist tightened, "You have yet to teach it to me, but perhaps I could learn differently."

"And what way is that?" she gasped when he pressed his lips to her breasts, trailing over them, nipping and sucking at her skin, she finally let out a breathy moan and it took everything in him to not rip off her dress and take her then and there.

His lust was overwhelming him and the inner beast he contained was trying to burst from its cage and Klaus didn't think he could hold it in much longer.

Adrienne whimpered when he rubbed himself against her, hard and ready to go.

But she didn't want that, not yet at least.

She begrudgingly pulled away, slightly panting as he smirked down at her "Nope," she tutted, "Patience is a virtue Nik."

"A virtue you know I don't possess," he whined, dampening his bottom lip with his tongue.

"Then I guess we should go," she nodded towards her door, "we have somewhere to be."

Neither of them made an effort to leave, seeming to be caught up in the essence of the other.

"You have no idea what you do to me."

The weight of his words hung between them.

She looks down at his bulge, "I have a pretty good idea." she quipped making him annoyedly sigh.

His nostrils flared as his eyes bore into hers, "Why do you have to make a mockery of my affection for you?" frustration laced his tone.

"Fine, tell me then."

She waited for his response, but his words were caught in the back of his throat.

"I-I can't." He stammered, she felt his body shake with disheartenment.

He pulled away from her and picked up the box that was on her bed, she turned when he held it out for her.

She smiled softly and started to unravel the bow, letting it drift to her bedroom floor.

Her hands uncovered the lid, gasping when she saw the wooden angel inside.

She shakily lifted it and stared at it with tear-filled eyes.

"Nik..." her voice cracked, her eyes darted around the delicate sculpture, "did you do this?" she asked, lip quivering as she did.

He sheepishly smiled, "do you like it?"

"It's wonderful," she turned it over, heart-swelling when she saw the 'A' carved into the back.

Klaus's mind was sent back to his childhood when everyone called his youngest brother an Angel because he was the perfect child.

Even Kol loved the boy and never teased or messed with him.

Henrik's death shaped him into the person he was today and one of the prime reasons he wanted to suppress his wolf tendencies. Because if he did over a thousand years ago, his little brother would still be here.

Their angel.

Klaus felt compelled to carve the gift for his girl, whether he wanted to subconsciously keep his brother's memory alive or because he believed he discovered a new angel in his life.

Adrienne exhaled deeply as she grasped the sculpture, "You made me an Angel?" he nodded in response, "You really like me that much huh?" she sniffled, then laughed softly.

If it were another time, she would've cursed him out for ruining her make-up, but she couldn't get past the thoughtful gift that she held.

"I..." he blinked slowly, bringing himself back to the moment, "I really do sweetheart,"

'Like' was not the word he wanted to use or even affection, but for now, it was appropriate to not divulge.

"It's beautiful and your all talents go beyond my expectations."

Her words touched him, continuing to break through the barricade that protected his heart.

"Thank you."

"I need to put this someplace safe," she said, not wanting to part with the gift, she hesitantly settled the angel on her bedside table, letting it face her bed. She took the box from his hands and placed it near it. "Thank you again, Nik... truly."

He took her hand in his, "It's no bother."

"Now I have to think about what I need to get for your birthday." she smiled up at him.

His face scrunched up in confusion, "It's in early April." he said sceptically.

Her smile broadened, "Then I guess I have a lot of time then."

Klaus nodded with wide eyes, his brows furrowed as his mind tossed around her words. " I guess we do- I mean you do," he corrected himself, she went to pick up her overcoat, but he tugged on her hand,ย  "Ria."

"Yes?"

"Happy birthday." he kissed her hand, then pressed her lips to hers.

"Thank you, sweetheart." she teased and winked at him. He chuckled and then he grabbed her coat, putting it over her shoulders before they sauntered away.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Guests yelled as soon as Adrienne stepped over the threshold of The Saints.

Champagne was immediately popped, and streamers and banners hung all around the large room.

The musicians played smooth and classic music, soothing the room.

A few tables were full of presents and cards.

Tourists, civilians and supernatural were all in attendance.

Her family sat in their booth, grinning over at her.

Klaus let her bask in her attention and glory whilst she was hugged and cheered by all.

The original left to talk to some acquaintances of his.

"Happy birthday Ms Adrienne," Emerson walked up to her with his winning smile, "you look amazing as always."

His hands were glued to his side despite wanting to embrace her with a warm hug.

He was aware of who she was being courted by and he didn't want Klaus to believe he was a threat to their relationship.

He was only three years older than the teen, but he had no desire to make a move on her.

He simply saw her as a friend.

Adrienne grinned at the man, "Thank you Sonny andย  just call me Adrienne."

"No thank you," he shook his head quickly, "the least I can do I show the respect you deserve," he tipped his hat to her, "have a good night Ms Adrienne."

"Bye Sonny" she waved him off and the moment she turned around she was immediately embraced by the blonde bubbly original, "Bekah," she laughed and mirrored her actions, "you almost gave me a fright."

Rebekah smiled and pulled away, her eyes travelling over her friend's body, "You look so beautiful."

The witch blushed, "Thank you."

"Have the best night," The vampire playfully bopped her nose, causing the witch to giggle, "Make sure my brother behaves tonight." She winked at the birthday girl.

"Stop." Adrienne laughed as Rebekah left in search of something to quench her thirst.

The witch was quickly approached by another original, Elijah appeared in front of the teen with an awe-filled expression, "Adrienne you look..."

She teasingly leaned forward, "Beautiful?"

His lips curved upward, "The English diction doesn't do your beauty justice."

She dramatically gasped, "Who knew you were quite the charmer Eli?" She asked cocking her head to the side.

He hummed then stepped closer, "You would know if you spent more time with me." He said locking eyes with her and ignoring a familiar heated stair from the distance.

"You missing me already?" She placed her hand on her heart, pouting up at him.

He shrugged, subtly letting his eyes dart over her face, not allowing them to look below her neckline, "Perhaps."

The pair smirked at one another before he motioned for her to turn around as her witches were approaching her frantically.

Elijah's gaze lingered on a certain Griffith witch before he went to go and join his sister.

Both Clementine and Valerie hugged the birthday girl tightly, and then the latter spoke up, "I love you Adri and I don't want to ruin your birthday, but if I kill Kali, don't blame me."

Adrienne wasn't surprised by Valerie's tense demeanour. The LaMarche witch was highly suspicious of everyone and anyone until she could ensure that they were not a problem or a threat. There was a list of everyone with whom she had grievances and the list was not short.

Valerie had plastered on a smile as she didn't want to upset her close friend on her special day, but her patience was wearing thin.

"Why, what did she do, Val?" Adrienne questioned, trying to look for Kali, but she couldn't see her, which caused the birthday girl to feel hurt.

She knew the Sinclair witch was close but she hoped that she would wish her a happy birthday soon.

Valerie rolled her eyes, "Her holier than thou act." She scoffed and picked up three drinks from a passing waiter and passed them to her friends.

"It's becoming old," Clementine added before downing the champagne.

Adrienne raised a brow at her tone, "Clem, who knew you didn't care for her."

Valerie laughed humorlessly, "Her merciless side comes out when she's around your second in command."

Adrienne sighed, knowing about the bad blood between her witches. She had always tried to keep the peace during meetings.

They all had different ways of practising magic, some better than others. Some were more destructive than others but they usually remained contained. She wanted to present a united front, regardless of the real dynamic.

Society already had an idea of what a group of black women looked like and it wasn't pretty, Adrienne didn't want to conform to stereotypes... unless it was behind closed doors.

She sighed, "Keep the claws to yourself ladies, at least for tonight, leave the primal behaviour to the men."

"Only because it's your birthday." Valerie blew the girl a kiss.

"Love you." Clementine hugged her friend again.

Adrienne smiled, "Love you." She watched as they strolled away.

They walked towards their table, joining a sulking Melinda Park, who sent the birthday girl an envious yet sad smile.

Adrienne returned the gesture before she felt someone tap her shoulder.

A familiar scent invaded her senses, she swivelled on her feet and came face to face with the Sinclair witch.

"Don't tell me they've been spinning yarns already," Kali muttered against her shoulder as they hugged and quickly pulled away.

"No they haven't," Adrienne lied but the older witch could see straight through her.

"Sure."

"Be nice." Adrienne sounded as if she were pleading. She didn't want any blood spilt tonight.

She preferred if they left it until morning...kidding.

"I'm trying to be." Kali spoke through her teeth, eyeing the two younger witches, before her gaze was pulled back to the Lumiรจre witch, "Oh and Happy birthday."

Adrienne furrowed her brows, "Thank you," she went to speak again but her friend moved away after seeing another one of her foes.

The birthday girl's shoulders slumped and she sipped on the rest of her champagne.

She felt like something was off, but she couldn't figure out what.

Luckily, Klaus appeared in front of her, sensing her bemusement and pulled her away from the centre of the room.

"Bored already?" He whispered after they ended up in a secluded space. He then ducked his head down into the crook of her neck, but she caught the smile that danced across his face.

"Nope, but I'm just itching to take off this dress, it's uncomfortable."

She felt his body tense, oh she loved the feeling.

"Well, I'm sure it would look great at the bottom of my bedroom floor," His words resulted in getting a smack at the back of his head,ย  "Kidding...sort of."

"Sure." She laughed softly.

He pulled away, wanting to take another look at her alluring features, "I just can't help myself, you look extraordinary."

She bit down on her lip, "Thank you Nik."

He went to kiss her, but her brother beckoned her over to their family table.

She pressed her lips to Klaus's cheek before she walked away.

Klaus leaned against the wall, watching her retreating figure, with a doting smile.

His smile soon dropped from his face when he felt his sister appear next to him, with a knowing look.

Neither of the siblings spoke up until he caught the grin that spread across her face.

"Will you stop looking at me like that?" He snapped when he turned to face her.

"Like what?" She feigned offence.

He squinted his eyes, "Like you know something I don't, go on then, spill it."

She tapped her chin, pretending to think, but she waved him off, "You'll figure it out soon Nik."

"Figure out what soon?" He stepped closer, towering over her but she paid no mind to his intimidation.

"You know what."

"Stop speaking in riddles Rebekah, I haven't got the time for this."

"We're immortal brother, we've got all the time in the world."

Klaus rolled his eyes and shoved her, she gasped and then copied him, resulting in a full-blown fight.

Elijah watched his siblings from a distance and only prayed their behaviour wouldn't worsen when they undagger Kol.

But he would be kidding himself if it would get better.

As Adrienne approached her brother, she noted that he was sitting with his lover, the couple stood up, "Sister, happy birthday," Hadeon cheered and embraced her lovingly.

"Thank you, Deon." She laughed after they pulled away.

Mira threw her arms around the birthday girl, catching her off guard, "Happy birthday Adrienne, we're the same age now," she beamed up at her, "I brought you a gift," Mira nodded over to the table, when they pulled apart, the human bounced on her heels, "hope you enjoy it."

Hadeon held an amused expression, loving how his favourite girls were getting along.

Adrienne's lips parted in shock, "Mira you didn't have to."

"I wanted to." Mira held her hands in hers, "We're friends of course."

"Of course."

Hadeon spoke up, "I think you'll like what dad and I got you." He noticed their father had slipped out of the main entrance.

"What?"

"It's outside." He nodded to the double doors.

"Really?"

Hadeon cleared his throat loudly, signally the band to stop playing, the room quickly fell silent, "everyone come join us outside, my father and I want to show you the lavish treat we brought Adrienne."

Everyone apprehensively filed out of the building, being met with the starry night.

As they grew closer to the roads; there stood Erebus, next to an ebony-coloured, Arrow Peice car.

The model was only a few years old, by the Lumiรจre patriarch managed to get it for his little girl for the best price, with a little assistance from his son.

Adrienne squealed with excitement, her shoes slapped against the concrete as she ran over to her father.

She practically jumped on him, throwing her arms around his neck and squeezing him tightly.

Claps and cheers were heard from the crowd of guests and even some more civilians that walked past.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you," the birthday girl mumbled to her father.

Erebus chuckled for the first time in ages, he was just glad that he could still feel that joyous feeling, something he believed he lost along with his wife.

Adrienne wiped away her fallen tear, and stared at her new automobile in shock, "make sure you only drive it during the day, I don't want you crashing it," her father advised her.

"Well all know she's a shit driver," Hadeon added making the crowd laugh.

Adrienne ignored her brother and continued to gawk at the details of the fine car, "Oh my."

"It's not like my Mercedes' but it's nice."

Adrienne turned around and smacked her brother's chest, causing more laughter to spread.

"Ignore your brother," Erebus said with an eye roll,ย  "you deserve little queen."

"I don't know what to say." Adrienne felt her entire body shake with glee. She couldn't wait to drive, she usually just used their family car or her brother's whenever she didn't want to walk or ride her horse.

Now she had something to call her own and she was overjoyed.

Hadeon tutted, "maybe a 'thank you.'"

"Shut up Deon." she smacked his chest, chuckling along with him,ย  "And thank you."

"You're welcome." he pinched his sister's cheeks before his hand was swatted away.

He then ushered over the photographer to take a picture of their family.

The Lumiรจre's posed, Adrienne stood in the middle of the two men, all of them were happily smiling and then a bright flash went off and applause rang through the street.

"Everyone head back in." Hadeon yelled and they all complied,ย  he ducked his down to whisper at his sister, "My car is still better."

"Shut up Deon."

The moment everyone entered The Saints, the party was back in fall swing.

Alcohol may have been spilt, but fortunately, it wasn't blood.

Songs were sung and lovers held hands.

Erebus went upstairs to get away from the rowdy crowds of young people.

The Mikaelsons, Lumiรจre siblings and their friends all ended up sitting in one big booth, chatting and squabbling at each other.

Klaus barely spoke, too enhanced by his girl's beauty to utter a coherent word. His nerves irritated and frustrated him, so he continued to drink.

As did the entire club.

That was until Adrienne and Klaus felt a shiver go down their spines, the couple shared an odd look, the latter blocked out the loud noises when he heard something in the distance.

He turned to his siblings, who seemed to be in their own worlds, conversing with their friends.

Adrienne's eyes widened, "Nik-"

"EVERYONE GET DOWN!." The hybrid yelled.

Suddenly a wave of glass shot forward and came crashing down on the guests, without hesitation, Klaus grabbed and pulled down Adrienne, Hadeon and Mira, whilst his siblings covered the รฉquilibre witches.

Screams and groans were heard across the room.

Windows were shattered as the loud screeching of heavy bricks skidded across the floor, doused in broken glass, landing and hitting many, causing bruising and injury's to appear.

The cold winter night engulfed the room.

The sound of cackling and slurs was heard, and then engines started and drove away.

"Are you alright?" Klaus asked, uncovering Adrienne with his jacket.

"Yes," she mumbled, tears threatening to spill from her eyes, as she looked around and saw nothing but chaos.

"Adri!" her brother yelled, after having pulled Mira into his arms.

"I'm fine," she reassured him, Klaus held onto her tightly, a scowl prominent on his face, Adrienne turned to her witches, who were near Rebekah and Elijah, "girls?"

"We're fine," they responded tiredly.

The guests shakily rose from the ground and tried helping their friends up, swatting away any glass that continued to fall over them.

Something caught Elijah's eye as he helped the witches up, a piece of bloodied paper was wrapped around a brick that landed on the table in front of them.

He picked it up and untied the bindings, his teeth clenched as he read its contents.

"What does it say?" Clementine asked nervously, Elijah placed in front of them all with an angry glint in his eye.

Lumiรจre's must fall,

We will knock the negroes down.

The hunters will come for you all,

You will all drown.

the hunters won't allow anyone to have a night off, the next chapter will be slightly more violent and traumatic. but with violence, an undaggered mikaelson will come. tensions are rising amongst most groups, the witches, the mikaelsons and others all over the city.

what did you think of each gift Adrienne received? would you rather receive an angel from klaus or a car?

i feel like i need to incorporate klaus' talents. especially him being good at sculpting, something that most of his siblings were trash at.

i wanted to add a little henrik mention, because he rarely gets mentioned even though his death was the catalyst for the existence of the vampire race. i will include more mentions of him, especially because he and klaus were very close.

any thoughts or questions guys?ย
