The updates are definitely slowing down now I'm back at work but we're still going! I'm really excited for the next few chapters because we're going to find out a lot and the information isn't going to be at all useful for a long time but oh here we are!

DECONTAMINATION
━━━━━∙⋆⋅⋆∙━━━━━

The Doctor walked across a large bridge, his eyes briefly glancing down at the silent city below. He turned to look at the group for a short second before turning back and explaining: "This place is enormous and deserted. The majority of the race are probably still asleep. We need to find Amy." They walked through a tunnel and he turned to Hollie, Orion and Nova. "You three stay here we'll contact you, go back to the TARDIS and keep in touch with Rory. Cassiopeia, Nasreen and I, are looking for heat signature anomalies to find Amy." The three nodded in agreement, it wasn't the most ideal situation, the Doctor would rather have kept them all together but in order to find Amy and the others, especially in such a large place they were going to have to split up a bit.

"But Doctor," Nasreen asked as Hollie, Orion and Nova headed off, "how can all this be here? I mean, these plants."

"Must be getting closer to the centre of the city."

"You're sure this is the best way to enter?"

He nodded at her reassuringly. "Front door approach. Definitely. Always the best way."

Alarms then began to blare, Hollie, Orion and Nova's eyes widened, their heads snapping back around to where the Doctor, Cassiopeia and Nasreen were.

Orion grabbed his sister's hand, pulling her over to where a large plant sat at the edge of the corridor, the two hiding behind it while the Doctor, Cassiopeia and Nasreen looked around.

Hollie's eyes widened as Orion went to grab her to pull her over to him, a moment before he could three Silurians came around the corner making her swallow hard.

Hostile life forms detected area seventeen. The computer echoed as Hollie held her hands up, the Siluriens holding some kind of weapon with what looked like a cone on the end.

A few moments earlier...

"Apart from the back door approach." The Doctor told Nasreen as they continued to walk, "That's also good." Sometimes better."

Hostile life forms detected, area seventeen.

"Doctor." Nasreen's eyes widened after hearing what the computer announced. Cassiopeia blinked and the Doctor swallowed hard as at least five Silurians ran down the opposite corridor Orion, Hollie and Nova came from, all of them wearing their masks with weapons that looked like guns in their hands.

Hostile life forms detected, area seventeen. The computer repeated

"We're not hostile." The Doctor informed. "We're not armed. We're here in peace."

"I don't think that's going to work."

One of the Silurian's stepped forward and shot its weapon, a grey gas shot out, hissing slightly in the next moment the Doctor, Cassiopeia and Nasreen fell to the floor.

"That was a great plan then," Hollie muttered to herself, her hands still up in the air as the Silurians came face to face, or rather mask with her.

"Oh no." Nova telepathically communicated to her brother as the Silurians suddenly shot a gas at Hollie, the blonde collapsed to the floor.

"Yeah." Orion replied. "He's going to kill us."

Amy stared at the Silurian in the room with her while tightening her hands into fists and pulling at the clamps over her hands. "Don't you come near me with that." Her eyes wide as the Silurian scanned her with a device.

"From the clothing, the human female appears to be more resistant to the cold than the male." The creature spoke aloud.

"I dressed for Rio!" Amy huffed.

"Leave her alone. You've got me." Mo cut in as he pulled on his own restraints beside her.

Amy and Mo looked up as the doors opened and two more Silurians walked in. "Hollie!" Amys eyes widened, the blonde out cold while being carried along behind the first two, she was set in the same restraints as Amy and Mo.

The Silurian with the white lab coat walked over to her and scanned her before frowning. "But thats-" he then scanned Amy. His frown grew deeper by the second. He scanned Hollie again before scanning Mo. "That doesn't make any sense."

"Leave her alone!" Amy shouted.

Hollie's eyes snapped open as the computer stated: decontamination in progress. A moment later the blonde women was crying out and writhing around in pain.

Amy's eyes widened. "You're hurting her!" Amy shouted as Hollie whimpered before she cried out again. "Please!"

"It's only the decontamination." The Silurian replied.

"And it's hurting her!" Amy shouted. "Look at her!"

Area Seventeen incursion. A tannoy announced. Species diagnostic requested.

Decontamination postponed the computer stated a moment later. Hollie breathed heavily as the Silurian ran out quickly leaving Hollie to gasp. Area Seventeen incursion. Species diagnostic requested.

"Yeah. And stay out!" Amy shouted before looking at Hollie. "Holls-"

"I'm okay." She panted, her face full of relief.

The doors suddenly opened, and the three looked up to see Orion and Nova run in.

Amy's eyes widened as Orion sighed at the sight of Hollie. At least they didn't get to finish their decontamination, Nova brought out her own sonic, activating it. The tip shined white and the claps on Amy, Mo and then Hollie's hands released.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Amy asked Hollie.

The blonde nodded. "I'll be fine, we need to find the Doctor."

"He came down here with you?" Amy asked.

"As well as Cassiopeia and Nasreen but they got caught like Hollie and taken somewhere else."

"We need to find them," Orion said.

"We need to find Elliot," Mo added.

Amy nodded in agreement.

"We can look for them at the same time." Orion replied. "Hollie can you walk?"

The blonde nodded. "What was that?"

"Decontamination."

"Why did it hurt Hollie and not me?" Amy frowned.

Orion shrugged glancing at his sister for a moment. "We can't say anything Nov."

His sister sighed quietly and nodded as Mo began to talk, pulling the conversation away. "That creature, do you think it was an alien?" He questioned as they walked through the tunnels. "Any more of them, do you think? Do you think the Earth's been invaded?"

"They don't want to invade the Earth." Orion began to explain as continued on. "They're called Silurian or Homo-reptilia, they owned planet Earth before humans."

"Owned it?" Mo frowned.

"Mhm." Nova nodded. "It wasn't just humans on the Earth, they lived here when the dinosaurs were around then I assume went into hiding for one reason or another."

The group continued to walk before coming across a large door with a wall panel lit up beside it. "I wonder where this leads."

"Maybe it's a way out of here." Mo suggested.

Hollie pressed the button before her eyes widened as a light on the other side of the door lit up revealing a small alcove with Elliot on the other side, wires connecting to his face as he stood in what looked like a sleep.

"Oh, my God, no." Mo gasped.

"What is it?" Amy frowned.

"It's my son. It's Elliot. What've they done to him?" He's in there. We have to get him out. Elliot?" Mo called. "Elliot, it's Dad." He attempted to use the computer beside him. Access denied. Unauthorised genetic imprint. The computer stated.

"We can't get in there," Orion stated with a small frown before using his sonic to scan the computer. "We need a homo reptilia imprint, like a thumbprint."

"That's my boy in there."

"Look," Nova pointed to the wires before looking at the screen in front of her, a small beeping coming from the monitor. "These have to be his vital signs."

Amy nodded. "Heartbeats, pulses, right?"

"Exactly." Nova nodded. "Elliot's still alive in there Mo."

"Why else would he be wired up?" Hollie questioned. "What do they want him for though?"

"We'll figure that out." Orion replied. "Come on, lets find the Doctor and then we can get the Silurian to release Elliot."

On the surface, Ambrose knelt down beside the large hole in the graveyard. "Ambrose." Rory quietly called to the woman, her hands still holding her son's headphones, eyes fixed on them as if the item was going to disappear just like her son did.

"You lied." She stated not even looking up at him. "You told us you were the police."

"It was a misunderstanding." He swallowed hard. "It just all happened.

"Who are you?" She forced herself to look up at him. "You, those twins, Hollie Orion and the Doctor?" She frowned. "Why is this happening to us? What did we ever do?"

"The Doctor will get your son back, I promise." He reassured. "In the meantime, we take turns guarding the creature."

"Oh, so that's it? We just sit and wait."

"And then we exchange her for your family. I promise you, Ambrose, I trust the Doctor with my life. We stick to his plan. We keep that creature safe."

×××

Cassiopeia helplessly watched as the Doctor cried out in excruciating pain, his whole body wriggling around as much as his restraints would let him as the same Silurian who had been working on Mo, Amy and Hollie scanned him.

"How can they have escaped?" Another Silurian asked the one dressed in the laboratory clothes. "This proves all prisoners should remain under military guard."

"I'm sure you'd prefer to be in charge of everything and everyone, Restac, but we rank the same." He replied. "Is there any word from Alaya?"

"No."

"It's fine to show concern, you know." He reminded. "She's part of your gene-chain. I'm decontaminating now."

Cassiopeia's eyes widened as the Doctor snapped his head over to the Silurians. "Decontamination? No, no, no!" He cried out louder.

"Stop!" Cassiopeia shouted. "You can't do that, please!"

×××

In the crypt Alaya stood, eyes closed facing the window, letting the natural sunlight hit her body. Her face grew confused as she smelt Tony enter the small room. "Why aren't you dead? You're carrying my venom in your blood. But you should have died. Why aren't you dead?" She turned around. "Show me."

Tony did as she said, slightly unbuttoning his shirt and showing between his shoulder and collarbone.

"How does it feel, ape?"

"Like it's burning in my blood." He replied before buttoning his shirt back up. "Please, if you help me, I can help you. If you could cure me, I could help you escape."

"You see? You beg and offer betrayal so early. Why would I want to escape when I can watch you die?" She gave him a wicked smile. "The first ape death of the coming war."

×××

"No!" The Doctor cried, still in a large amount of pain. "Argh!"

The Silurian frowned. "You're acting like the female did." He remarked. "It's all right, it won't harm you. I'm only neutralising all your ape bacteria."

"But he's not an ape!" Cassiopeia shouted. "Please just look at the scans."

"Two hearts. Totally different." The Doctor gritted his teeth a moment later. "Totally not ape! Remove all human germs, you remove half the things keeping me alive."

The Silurian frowned before he turned off the machine after checking the scans.

"No," Restac hissed, "complete the process!"

"Oh, that's much better, thanks." The Doctor panted. "Not got any celery, have you?" He frowned a moment later. "No. No, not really the climate. Tomatoes, though. You'd do a roaring trade in those. I'm the Doctor and that's Cassiopeia."

"Cass." The blonde nodded. "Thank you for stopping."

"Oh, and there's Nasreen. Good." He blinked. "Wait what did you say acting like the female?"

"She was acting just like you." He explained.

"Did she have a short skirt long legs and orange hair?" The Doctor questioned.

"No." The Silurian replied. "Her hair was yellow."

Cassiopeia swallowed hard with the Doctor. "Did she look like me? Cassiopeia asked.

"No."

The Doctor closed his eyes. "They got Hollie." He whispered before frowning slightly. Why did the decontamination hurt her?

The Silurian walked to Nasreen and shone a light on her. "Oh, a green man." The woman stated in shock as she woke up.

"Hello." The Doctor greeted, looking at the female Silurian. "Who are you?"

"Restac, Military commander."

"Oh dear, really? There's always a military, isn't there?" He huffed.

"Your weapon was attacking the oxygen pockets above our city."

"Oxygen pockets, lovely. Ooo, but not so good with an impending drill. Now it makes sense." The Doctor frowned.

"Where is the rest of your invasion force?"

"Invasion force?" Cassiopeia questioned. "There is none."

"We came for the humans you took." The Doctor added. "And to offer the safe return of Alaya." He blinked. "Oh wait, you and she, what is it, same genetic source? Of course, you're worried, but don't be, she's safe."

"You claim to come in peace, but you hold one of us hostage." Restac hissed.

"Wait, wait, we all want the same thing here."

"I don't negotiate with apes. I'm going to send a clear message to those on the surface."

"What's that?" The Doctor asked, slightly worried about the answer he was going to get back.

"Your execution."

"Yes." He sighed, of course, that was the reply he was going to get.

The group continued to walk through the halls before they came up upon some cryo-chambers. Amy lit two of them up and they jumped back at the sight.

"Turn it off, quick," Mo ordered.

Orion held up his hand frowning as they all stared at the Silurian in the light.  "They're not moving."

"Maybe they're asleep." Amy frowned. "Let's have another look."

"No, Amy, don't," Mo begged. "Don't."

Nova shrugged, looking at her brother before watching Amy go inside the chamber.

"It looks like some sort of suspended animation." Nova raised a brow.

"Oh look at that." Orion looked up above the Silurian's heads, two tunnels went straight up and into the darkness. "Now that is beautiful."

"It's how they came up to the surface." Amy looked at the twins who nodded. "Some sort of powered transport discs. It's our way out of here."

"Even better. Weapons." Mo took the weapons from the Silurians. "Come on, now we can fight back."

Orion looked at his sister. "I don't like where this is going." He whispered.

"Me neither." She replied in agreement as they followed Amy and Mo, the two humans holding each a weapon in their hands.

The group continued walking before they arrived at a large balcony overlooking rows upon rows of never-ending chambers all containing Silurians.

"Wow." Mo breathed, his eyes taking in the sight.

"Yeah." Amy swallowed hard.

"We don't stand a chance." Mo looked at the others.

Orion shook his head and placed a hand on the man's shoulder. "Don't give in like that Mo."

Nova nodded in agreement. "Exactly. What do we have that they don't?"

Amy frowned. "Guns?"

"No," Nova replied with a shake of her head. "We have the Doctor."

"But we don't know where he is?"

"Then I guess we need to find him." With that Orion walked off, Nova following close behind, the humans took one last look over the balcony before heading off after the twins.

Back in the church, Tony took out a small first aid box, hunting around inside for any sort of painkillers. "Dad," Ambrose frowned, concern taking over as she watched her father rummage in the box. "Are you all right? Dad?"

"Ambrose, I'm fine." He dismissed, but the pained tone in his voice said otherwise. "Leave me alone."

"You are not fine. Let me, let me look."

"Get off."

"Let me look." Ambrose stepped closer, pulling on his shirt before she managed to pull it down enough. Her eyes widened and she gasped as a dark green vein poked through and out of the shirt. "Oh, my God, Dad." She stepped back, hands to her mouth. Tony swallowed hard and looked down, ashamed.

"I don't know what's happening to me." He told her.

"It's going to be fine." She told him, setting the back of her hand on his forehead. "First thing is, bring this temperature down. Get you resting.

×××

The Doctor walked through a large garden, a Silurian behind him, their gun pointed at his back, Nasreen walked behind the Silurian behind the Doctor, her own Silurian accompanying her.

Cassiopeia raised a brow as she walked beside the Doctor, a Silurian obviously behind her too.  "These must be the only ones awake." She frowned, glancing at the Doctor for a brief moment.

The Time Lord nodded in agreement. "The others must still be in hibernation."

"So, why did they go into hibernation in the first place?" Nasreen asked.

"Their astronomers predicted a planet heading to Earth on a crash course. They built life underground and put themselves to sleep for millennia in order to avert what they thought was the apocalypse when in reality it was the moon coming into alignment with the Earth."

"How can you know that?" The male Silurian who had started to do the tests on the Doctor questioned.

"Long time ago, I met another tribe of Homo Reptilia. Similar, but not identical." He answered.

"Others of our species have survived?" Restac asked,

The Doctor winced, regretting even mentioning the topic. "The humans attacked them. "They died. I'm sorry."

Restac hissed, her eyes narrowing in anger. "A vermin race." She spat.

×××

Ambrose stood in the doorway to the Crypt. "What's the cure?" She spoke aloud making Alaya turn to her.

"What?"

"I saw what you've done to my dad." She narrowed her eyes. "What's the cure?"

Alaya smirked, an evil look on her face. "Why would I tell you?"

"Because if you don't," She removed an arm from behind her back, a taser in hand. "I'm going to have to use this on you."

Alaya nodded. "Now you reveal yourselves."

"First you take my son, now you hurt my dad. I'm just protecting my family here, that's all. I don't want to use it. I want you to put things right."

"Use it." She hissed.

"What?" Ambrose frowned.

"Use it on me." She ordered. "But you're too afraid." Ambrose gritted her teeth as Alaya continued. "A woman who can't even protect her own child must be too weak to-" Ambrose had enough and with that, she moved forward, towards the Silurian and didn't think twice as she zapped her and watched as she fell to the ground. Ambrose gasped and she dropped the taser to the ground. "I didn't want to do that. Are you all right? " She crouched down next to Alaya. "Tell me, what's the cure for my dad?"

Alaya gasped for breath. "He's vermin." She spat, eyes glaring up at the human before her. "He deserves a painful death."

"I am giving you a chance," Ambrose begged.

"I knew it would be you." She grinned but her face still looked pained. "The one with the most to lose. The weakest."

Ambrose narrowed her eyes, picked up the taser and used it again.

Above the crypt, Rory sighed and looked at Tony's shoulder. "I'm a nurse." He slowly shook his head as Tony winced. "You should have told me."

They both quickly turned as a loud scream echoed from the crypt. The two quickly got up and ran, their eyes widening as they both spotted Alaya on the floor, Ambrose standing over her with the taser in hand.

"Ambrose, what have you done?" Tony stared at his daughter as Rory knelt down beside Alaya who gasped and wheezed.

She kept taunting me about Mo and Elliot and you." Ambrose sniffed tears in her eyes.

"We have to be better than this."

"She wouldn't tell me anything. I thought sooner or later she'd give in. I would have done. I just, I just want my family back, Dad." She sobbed, turning into her father.

"I'm sorry." Rory apologised, looking down at Alaya as he swallowed hard. "How do we help you? Tell us what to do."

"I knew this would come." The Silurian whispered. "And soon the war." She swallowed hard.

"You're not dying." He shook his head, his eyes scanning the crypt for anything that could possibly help him save her. "I not going to let you. Not today."

He swallowed hard as Alaya's eyes slowly closed as she accepted her death.
