THIRTY
I don't know if I like the title very much but I didn't know exactly what to call it. It works but I don't know... if that makes sense?
ANYWAYS.... Moving on!

INK AND TELEPATHY

Hollie sighed, her hands in her lap as she sat in a seat in the console room. Her eyes glazed over with fresh wet tears as she thought of different scenarios over and over in her head. She should have done more to save Rory, she should have at least pulled him into the TARDIS, maybe the Doctor could have saved him?
The blonde sighed and dug into her pocket, fishing out her phone before checking it. Five minutes... how had it only been five minutes since they said goodbye to Orion and Nova? Five minutes since the Doctor agreed to have Cassiopeia stay with them on the TARDIS for a bit? Five minutes since the other blonde and Amy headed into the halls of the TARDIS to explore.
Time was going too slow.
Hollie looked up as she saw something shift in the corner of her eye, she smiled sadly as her eyes met the Doctors, Time Lord stood beside the console, he couldn't have been there long, long enough to watch her though, a sad look of his own on his face. "I'm sorry..." he said.
Hollie shook her head and wiped at her eyes before forcing a strained smile. "It's not your fault, you didn't know, you couldn't know. If only I pulled him into the TARDIS-"
He cut her off. A pointed look on his face. "If you did that you'd be gone as well."
"I could have at least tried." She huffed in her own annoyance.
"And then what?" He questioned, a small frown on his face as he moved off of leaning on the console and slowly walked towards her. "I can't lose you too Holls."
Hollie rolled her eyes slightly. "You'd get over it, Doctor."
"Maybe." He replied however the look on his face said differently as he knelt down to become eye level with her. "But could I ever forgive myself? Never."
Hollie swallowed hard. "It hasn't been that long and I miss him already."
"I know." He sighed. The Doctor's eyes brightened ever so slightly as an idea came into his head. "I know what will cheer you up a bit."
"What?"
The Doctor took hold of her hand, forcing her to stand up before he practically dragged her into the corridor. "Follow me."
"Where are we going?" She frowned with no choice but to follow behind him.
"You'll see." Hollie's frown deepened further as a smile formed on the Doctor's lips while the two of them walked through the corridors of the TARDIS. "So..." The Doctor began, breaking the silence between them as they walked.
"So?"
There was a short pause and silence filled the air as the Doctor thought of how to word his next question before he decided to just come outright with it. "Hollie, What are you?"
The blonde stopped dead in her tracks causing the Doctor to suddenly stop as well, one foot awkwardly in front of the other as she looked at the Doctor who then turned around. "What?"
"I heard you." He replied, stepping towards her. "In my head."
"What do you mean?"
"Time Lords are telepathic." He explained with a small shrug. Hollie raised a brow before following the Doctor as he continued to walk. "We can communicate with each other through our thoughts if we wanted to, there are a few other races in the universe who can do it too."
"Can humans be telepathic?" She asked curiously.
"Possibly." He hummed. "I've known some to be slightly telepathic but I've never had one be able to be telepathic with me..." he frowned. "I tried to do it with you but it didn't work until I touched your arm."
"So you don't think I'm human then?"
"Oh the TARDIS did a scan and it came back saying you're human..." He shrugged.
"Wait." Hollie frowned stopping for a moment and staring at him. "You got the TARDIS to scan me without asking?"
"Umm..." He swallowed nervously as he stopped and turned to her.
"Doctor." Hollie groaned walking up to him and shaking her head. "You should have come and asked me, I would have said yes but don't scan me without asking next time. It's a huge invasion of privacy."
"I didn't know what you would do!" He protested, his hands flapping suddenly. "But I'm sorry."
"Come to me next time, okay?" She smiled at the small nervous look on his face and nudged him slightly. "Please?"
"Okay." He nodded with a sigh and smiled back at her.
The Doctor and Hollie walked on for a short while in silence before the blonde spoke up, looking at him curiously. "So how does this telepathic stuff work?"
"Well, you're a touch telepath so all you do is touch me and then project a thought. The Doctor stopped walking and held his hand out to her. "Try it if you want."
Hollie nodded looking at his hand nervously before she took his hand and looked up at him, swallowing hard at the reassuring smile on his face. "Hi..." Her eyes widened in shock as the Doctor smiled widely at her.
The Doctor replied but his lips stayed still smile. "Hello, Holls."
Hollie stared at him, eyes wide like a deer in headlights. "It worked?"
"Yep." He grinned, a small chuckle escaping his lips as he telepathically replied.
"That was easier than I thought." She admitted aloud, letting go of his hand.
The Doctor looked down at his hand as Hollie continued to walk, the Doctor quickly shook his head before he followed her. 'Stop it, Doctor.' He mentally slapped himself. 'She's Hollie, and she's human!'
The Doctor coughed slightly as he caught up with her and pulled himself out of his own silly thoughts. "You have unknowingly projected your thoughts to me before." He told her, replying to her earlier comment, "It's probably why you took to it so easily."
"Right." She nodded a moment before he grinned again.
"Now I know you're telepathic I'll teach you more on how to keep your mind closed off. So you don't suddenly project all your thoughts and deepest darkest secrets to me or anyone and you can defend your mind from others because there's some species out there who will try to control you."
"Right." Hollie nodded looking at him slightly nervously.
"But I'll never force myself into your thoughts." The Doctor explained, placing a hand on her arm and gently squeezing it. "Okay?"
Hollie slightly nodded with a small smile before she yelped as she was dragged forward by the Doctor who exclaimed:
"Found it!" they stood in front of a white wooden door that looked slightly out of place on the TARDIS.
"What is it?" She asked, looking at the door now in front of her.
"I got the TARDIS to make it for you a couple of days ago." He explained as he opened the door. "I know how much you still wanted to continue with your art while on the TARDIS and I thought..."
"Oh, my god." She gasped, eyes taking everything in front of her, she stepped through the doorway, a large desk sat in the centre of the room with a glass table, multiple metal pots with all different paint brushes inside, and bottles of paint in all different colours were scattered around with a three-row set of small white draws by one of the walls of the room, an easel sat near a desk with a sketch pad and light desk next to that. "Hang on..." she walked into the room, frowning slightly as she noticed very familiar pieces of art hung up on the walls. "Are these?"
"Yours." He nodded, looking at a painting of a familiar blue box, a small smile on his face. "Yes."
"But they were-"
"In your room in Amy's house." He cut in. "Snuck there the other night to get them, I thought it might help inspire you." He replied before frowning and looking at her curiously. "How come you never mentioned you lived with her before?"
The blonde shrugged. "Amy is my best friend and as you know I lived in the children's home in Leadworth. When you turn eighteen you're legally an adult and they help you move out but I didn't have a lot of money and had nowhere else to go and I practically spent all my time at Amy's anyway, she talked to her aunt who had basically raised me and Amy and we made an agreement, I could live with them only if I paid rent just like Amy. The room was half the cost of any others in the area plus I got to see my best friends all the time."
"Right." He nodded in understanding.
Hollie looked around the room once more before she smiled and wrapped her arms around the Time Lord. "Thank you, Doctor."
The Time Lord smiled, hugging her back. "You're welcome Holls." He pulled away from the hug, a curious glint in his eyes. "Now I understand if you want to stay here for a bit but I thought we could go to the Trojan Gardens, you and Amy will love it there."
Hollie smiled and the Doctor grinned before he took her hand and the two headed off into the corridors in search of Amy and Cassiopeia.
----
I'm honestly really happy with how this turned out and it no way turned out or went in the direction I was expecting but I really do love it.
Hollie gets her cute little art room and can now telepathically communicate with the Doctor!
I wonder how she can do that... Hehe I'm not telling you guys ANYTHING so you can keep guessing but I will just keep lying and denying EVERYTHING.
I am a menace ;)
