We are proud to announce the opening of our very first graphic contest, in honour of the house pride days that's currently happening! This occasion is to honour our cunning serpents, our loyal badgers, our brave lions and our witty eagles out there.

And what better we to express our joy and pride for our houses than a little competition?

This Graphic contest is open to all our brilliant designers out there, everyone's welcome to join. Don't be shy, just give it a try!

And where's the fun if you don't have anyone to compete against? Tag all your graphic designer friends to hop in and join us!

↺ TYPE OF GRAPHIC

The type of graphic you are required to make for this challenge is storybook covers!

The genre is a mystery/adventure/thriller. The aesthetic and colour scheme is completely up to you, preferably similar colours to the house of your choice — but unleash your creativity!

All types of graphics are welcomed, for example: manipulation, vector, minimalist, etc.

You are also free to use face claims, if you wish, of the original cast or any other person/people of your choice. But kindly keep it viewer appropriate, thank you.

Please note that there are four categories and prompts to choose from for your book cover. The categories being Slytherin, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.

The main title or text of the book will be ❝Hogwarts Mysteries❞ and there will be a subtitle according to which house you choose as each house is given a different prompt.

✎ PROMPTS AND HOUSES

As mentioned earlier, each house is given their own unique prompt and story ideas. Credits to our fellow crew member, especially our Healers and Reviewers who helped come up with these.

Remember, the title stays the same for every house — only the idea of the story and subtitle is different. The subtitle can be shortened, as long as it doesn't change the meaning be

You also don't necessarily have to pick your own house as well.

Below are the houses and their given prompts, as well as subtitles:

SLYTHERIN
"If the rest of your house jumped into the belly of the beast head first, would you?"

Life hasn't been easy for Slytherins, as they were shunned by their peers prejudiced against them. Not that an artefact belonging to Salazar Slytherin has been revealed with a double-edged curse on it, what will they do?Will they use it to take revenge against those who have wronged them? Or will they used it to change their image and make it better?

GRYFFINDOR
"More than guts, more than brave, more than danger; some beasts are better left untamed, some beasts are better left alone."

Gryffindor's ruby encrusted sword has been known to everyone as the epitome of bravery. Not many know it was originally made by goblins and still wields the power of Godric Gryffindor. But what secret does it holds? What will happen when the silver layer on it weakens and Basilisk venom on it reacts with the volatile magic of goblins and Gryffindor? What kind of catastrophe is heading towards the world? Or is it really for the better?

HUFFLEPUFF
"Sometimes it's the best to keep your arms closed, like tightly closed, when hiding in the corner because that "thing" is getting very close."

Helga Hufflepuff's cup is believed to have healing abilities. Ancient texts say that any potion arising from the cup is capable of curing each and every fatal disease and wound. What will happen when the cup is found? How will it really affect the Wizarding World? Will it change the world for better or worse?

RAVENCLAW
"I guess books can't teach you everything, like what to do when a monster is loose in the library."

Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem had been lost for years. Everyone believed it to be destroyed. But when a few students on it, what will be revealed? Does it really grant the user immeasurable intelligence and possess the powers as it has been claimed? Or is it really a curse disguised as a boon?

RULES

 ❝ We hate them but we need them.❞ 

i) Please do not steal someone else's graphics, or in other words, cheat. This also means no copying or ordering from others and claiming it as yours. If caught cheating or attempting to do so, you will be blacklisted from any future contests.

ii) Submit within the given due date please. The due date or final date to submit your graphic is by the 31st March 2021 EST time zone. Submission after the given date will not be accepted.

iii) Please make sure not to use inappropriate images or anything of that sort. No nudity on your graphic. Keep the graphic appropriate, our judges will be reviewing them so please keep it at a respectful and clean content.

vi) Submissions can be given via Google drive link, Pinterest link, email, tagging us in your book/chapter, etc. Are only allowed to submit a maximum of two entries per person.

iv) There are prizes for winners, to appreciate their hard work! Points will be awarded to your houses, participation points count too. So join the contest and earn points for your house to increase your chances of winning the house cup! First, second and third place will be awarded winning stickers and a permanent follow for the community's back up account. Runner up will earn an honorary sticker as well!

iiv) Add this book to your reading list or library and give this account a follow so you don't miss any updates. And give this book a little shout out on your profile if possible. After all, the more the merrier!
