CHAPTER 3
Annie
THE JOYRIDE
━━━━ 🌼 ━━━━
AFTER I PAID FOR MY BREAKFAST, I find a seat near a huge window. I pull out my book and finish from where I left off, I barely finished the chapter I was on because I was interrupted by none other than… “Why is all the food here so expensive?” Julian asked.
“Oh my god, you're literally stalking me.” I say to him as I put my book down.
“No, there weren't any seats left.” Julian says.
“Yes there is, there are plenty of seats. Look, there’s one next to that man over there.” I say showing him the cafeteria. “Do you really think I’m the kind of guy who would sit next to a stranger?” “Is that a trick question?” I ask, leaning forward. “Wow. That hurts, that really stings.” he says, putting his hand to his chest. I laughed then put my book up to my face.
“You wanna get out of here?” He asks. “No.” I say looking down at my book trying not to make eye contact. <>At Home by: Crystal Fighters “Come on, Annie Grace, can't you take risks once in a while?” Julian begs.
Julian gets up from his chair and walks towards the doors. “You coming or what?” He asks. I hesitate and then finally shout, “Fine!” Julian spins back around and smiles.

We’re driving out of the hospital parking lot in a stolen car going 180. Julian drove horribly. Whether stopping and starting, everything happened expeditiously. Everytime he would stop or start speeding, I would fly back in my seat and hold on to the dashboard terrified. What was worse is that I'm riding in the passenger seat of a lunatic going past the speed limit or getting stopped by the police? From time to time, I would glance over at Julian as he smiles and laughs all at the same time hitting trash cans (accidentally of course).
“I'm guessing this isn't your car?” I ask. “Figured you wouldn't oppose grand theft auto.
“Not today.” I say as Julian runs over another trash can. “Didn’t you get your license?”
“I may have failed it a couple of times.” I give him a worried look. “Kidding.” He says running over a trash can. “Maybe.” Julian and I drive around San Francisco for hours. I swear we hit just about every trash can and mailbox. We come to an immediate stop and Julian turns the car off and gets out. “Where are we?”
“Where else?” I look out my window and see that we're parked in the hospital parking lot. “Oh.” I chuckle and get out of the car.
