THE BONFIRE PARTY

          I FEEL A GENTLE KISS BEING PLACED ON MY CHEEK. My eyes flutter open and I am awoken by the beautiful sight in front of me. Annie, her shoulder-length blonde messy from sleep, her big brown eyes sparkled at me, and her beautiful smile that lit up the entire room. I don't feel like I'm awake until I see her, the golden rays of the sunlight reflect on her beautifully, it's hard to comprehend that god created this beautiful angel in front of me.
           "Hey." I say, voice still laced with sleep. "Hey." Annie says back, her voice soft and sweet.
          "So what's the plan for today Annie Grace?" I ask, stretching and sitting up on the couch, crossing my legs. Annie sits and thinks for a moment before answering, "I've got an idea." She says and gets up from the floor. We played UNO for most of the morning, and I have to shamefully admit, I let Annie, most of the time. It warmed my heart watching her shout out "Uno!" and then do a victory dance while throwing the cards in the air like money, while I sat on the carpet covered floor with my head down in shame.
           That night, Annie told me we are going to a luau tonight and to dress nice. I've been to a luau before. I wait outside the bathroom for Annie who has been in the bathroom for 40 minutes. I stand in front of the body mirror in the hallway, buttoning up the last few buttons on my black button-down shirt, making sure that my tan pants don't have wrinkles in them, fix my hair, making sure that it looks okay before tying my laces on my black sneakers. "Annie? Are you alright in there because you've been in there for like 40 minutes." I say knocking on the door. "I'm fine, I'll be right out." She calls from inside the bathroom. When she finally opens the door, she's wearing a pale blue-grey v-neck dress with red and white flowers on it and has a tie in the front. She's wearing make-up and lipstick. Her hair is out and rests on her shoulders. She looks at me and smiles. "Whoa." I say eyeing her up and down. "What? Is there something wrong." She says looking down at her dress. "Nothing you're just..." I say and nervously place my hand on the back of my neck. "You're perfect." I look down at Annie and she smiles shyly and blushes. "Come on, we'll miss the party." She says taking a hold of my hand. <>Cover Your Tracks by; A Boy and his Kite It's completely dark outside as we walk on the beach. The stars shine bright in the sky and silver rays of the moon reflect on Annie, making her look exquisite. We get to the luau and see other people dancing and hula dancers, and fire torches sticking out of the sand, the music is loud but not too loud enough for me and Annie to talk to each other
            "I still don' t see the point of all this, we could've just stayed in the room." I say squeezing Annie's hand as we walk further. "And do what? watch movies? Besides, I've never been to a luau before and I have a surprise for you." She says smiling mischievously and I stop in my tracks.
"You're starting to worry me Annie." We get half way into the luau when we hear voices shout to us, both voices sounded like a girl and a boy's, both voices I recognise.
          "You guys finally made it !" I look over and see Liam and Trina. Liam embraces me in a manly hug holding beer in his hand. I look over to see Annie and Trina hugging. "How did you guys get here?" I say surprised. "Your girlfriend here convinced us to come. Just for tonight then we're flying back tomorrow." "They're just friends Liam." Trina says with her arm around Annie's back. Liam pats my back and says, "Come on man, let's make tonight our bitch." He raises his cup, clearly drunk.

            Liam and Trina only stayed for a few hours since they have to leave tomorrow night. Annie wanted to stay longer. Suddenly, I hear a slow song playing and take Annie's hand and drag her to the dance floor. Annie looks at me and I smile, I take her hand and slowly spin her around, she gives me a worried look and smiles. "What?" I smile.
            "I can't dance. Embarrassing I know." She says and laughs.
            "Hmm, I've got an idea." I say and lightly pick her up and place her on my feet. We slow dance to the song, Annie not notching that I'm staring at her.
            "See your dancing." I point out. "For now." She says looking up at me smiling. She inhales deeply and exhales sharply as she lays her head on my chest and wraps her arms around my back, hugging me. I rest my head on top of her, closing my eyes. Annie Grace, you've got me wrapped around your little finger.
