Quickly, my eyes fluttered open as I finally came to a clear consciousness. I then placed a hand on my warm forehead before glancing over at the time.

"Great!" I groaned before falling back against my pillows

This was the fifth night in a row this nonsense had awoken me. It all started last year and ever since then the voices and visions were on and off.

I kept dreaming of this island in the middle of nowhere surrounded by cool waters, and female warriors overflowing this place that was also protected by a force field shielding it from the outside world.

But there was one woman who stood out.

She stood tall and fierce. Hair black like a raven in the night with a gold tiara strapped around her forehead. A red and gold armor-plated top with a blue skirt embroidered with stars at the sides. Knee-high red boots with gold trim and a lasso strapped to her hip.

The voice that paraded and pranced my dreams being compelling and persuasive.

I was going to tell Richard about it but the last two weeks his football practices for his championship game had been back to back and the only time we got to see each other was lunch since he was on the Law side of the campus and I was on the Medical side of campus; and to top it off, me and him were in the midst of taking our finals.

I missed Gray and would see him tomorrow after we both complete our final assessment but it didn't stop my heart from racing at the mere thought of failure.

Tim had also been helping me study for a few weeks and assured me I had nothing to worry about but it still didn't stop the anxiety that roamed my brain.

But, I needed to sleep.

"My boy! Who is this chick?! I mean, me and you have known each other forever and I've never even heard you talk about any girl this way." Vic ranted as he laughed

"Dawn is an old friend of mine and now she's my girlfriend" I answered simply with a small smile while throwing my football carefully in the air and catching it

"Girlfriend???!!!!!!!" Victor almost yelled

"Why are you being so extra about her man?" I then asked while chuckling lowly

"Because we've been boys for 4 years and you haven't settled down healthily or for too long EVER...and then Dawn comes along and you're on a date almost every day and when you are not you're swooning over her!" Victor ranted as I smiled

"Have you seen my girl though?" I rebutted causing him to laugh as he nodded

"Whatever, bro, yeah!" He replied

"All jokes aside though; every time she looks at me it's a constant reminder of all the good of my childhood and all the fucking memories, man," I said with a little groan toward the end

"You are in love with this girl, Richie! What happened to the mini Bruce Wayne I and Gotham knew? You know, the one that would party all night with me while we pull a million girls!" Vic teased causing me to shake my head

"I'm retired!" I said while chuckling lowly

"RETIRED?!" Vic screeched causing me to laugh

"Retired" I replied putting my football down and turning the light off in my room

"What is this?!" Vic then asked in response to me turning the light off

"I'm taking Dawn out for breakfast then we have finals, you know this bro, I and you need rest!" I answered beginning to laugh

"Okay, but I have one last question! And, I need you to be as clear as a sunny day because you keep tiptoeing around the answer...You're in love with Dawn aren't you?" Vic asked starting in his normal comical tone before concluding in a more serious tone

"Yes, Victor, I am" I answered

Feeling his smile through the darkness he then said, "Goodnight, bro, have fun at breakfast tomorrow, tell the Wifey I said 'Hi' and good luck to you both..."

"Will do, Goodnight bro" I replied as he shut my room door leaving me in the peaceful silence and murk of my room and my thoughts to roam
