𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐅𝐈𝐗 𝐌𝐄𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 ━━ thorny was given to them because of their short fur that always seems to stubbornly stick up in places and because one of the first things they consciously did as a kitten, was accidentally claw at their mother.

𝐒𝐔𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐗 𝐌𝐄𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 ━━ they got their suffix, due to their sharp tongue and their sarcastic retorts.

they're secretly called "shoutsnout", because of their seemingly excessive anger.

𝐅𝐔𝐑 𝐓𝐄𝐗𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 ━━ it's always a little tousled and a few strands stubbornly stick up, especially in their chest fur.

𝐁𝐎𝐃𝐘 𝐁𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐃 ━━ they are ridiculously short and skinny, almost scrawny. their sharp shoulder blades stick out — often used to poke into the legs or bellies of other cats in thornyhiss' anger.

𝐏𝐀𝐖 𝐏𝐀𝐃 + 𝐍𝐎𝐒𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐑(𝐬) ━━ their paw pads and nose are rosy pink, tho there's a patch of black on the upper left side of their nose.

𝐄𝐘𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐑(𝐬) ━━ orange/yellowish.

𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 ━━ they're right ear is chipped, but other than that, they don't have any scars. their leader was smart enough to not send thornyhiss into battles, worrying for them because of their size and lack of mass.

thornyhiss is a handful.
they have many unresolved issues which they absolutely refuse to acknowledge. they gaslight themselves into believing they're fine. the cat has a very short temper and snaps as quickly as a twig, they barely tolerate anyone around them — both for their own comfort and because they don't actually enjoy screaming at others as often as they do. they often feel bad about their constant anger and screaming, but they are too stubborn to admit guilt.

thornyhiss' commitment and attachment issues stem out of their deep rooted self consciousness, they like to believe that no one really likes them — which causes them to act in their rather aggressive and deflective way that keeps others at tails-lenght.
they are terrified of letting someone close, while at the same time craving for someone that loves them as they are, that sees what's underneath their rage — the broken cat behind it all.

when thornyhiss isn't screaming at someone, they're constantly worrying about how others perceive them. they are terribly awkward in social interactions, when they have nothing to scream or complain about. thornyhiss doesn't think they're interesting at all, or even worth talking to. they're introverted and shy, just yearning for understanding and love.

beneath it all, thornyhiss can be quite clingy once they trust someone, wanting to be at their side at all times, wanting to feel them close. they need validation, crave it — and yet are too shy to ask for it. feel to awkward and unworthy.

a short-furred, mouse grey she-cat. she's the one that thornyhiss has their short-genes from. mousescreech is so similar to thornyhiss, and yet they cannot atand each other. she's just as loud and aggressive as thornyhiss is now — growing up with a loud cat thought thornyhiss to be loud too, to fight back.

𝐅𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 ━━ blacktalon. alive, former deputy, elder.

a huge, pitch black tom-cat. he was cold and harsh, always expecting the best from his kits — and when they didn't, they lost what little affection blacktalon gave them. it was always a competition, who could be loved the most by the strong deputy.

𝐎𝐋𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 ━━ goldenyarrow. former healer, left the clans.
a brownish, golden she-cat. goldenyarrow was the kit of their parents first litter. she was strong and proud, eagerly cashing in her parents love — until she voiced the wish to become a healer, rather than a warrior. blacktalon never spoke to her again and after moons of negligence, goldenyarrow left the camp and never returned.

𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 ━━ badgerpaw. apprentice, dead.
a black she-cat. she was an arrogant, egoistic she/cat that wanted to be the best at everything, that wanted to become the leader of thunderclan and make her parents proud. she bullied thornyhiss because their parents did — simply to bask in their attention. they died in their first fight, too ambitious for their own good.

weaselgaze. warrior, dead.
a grey and black speckled tom. he was rather indifferent to his siblings and parents — everything, even. he just wanted to lazily lay around all day and sleep. thornyhiss resented him — because their parents still liked him more than them. he died of the sickness.

𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 ━━ ivypaw. apprentice, alive.
a yet black she-cat. she's noisy, annoying and spoilt — the darling child. she can never do anything wrong in their parents eyes — thornyhiss claims to resent her too, but no matter how much they try, ivypw is still their younger sister.

thornyhiss was born a scrawny, meek little thing. the runt of their litter — in their parents eyes, it immediately made them unworthy. they were doomed from the start. how could blacktalon and mousescreech ever love someone as small and weak as them? they couldn't and they made that clear from the start. thornykit could never be good enough — even though she was just a kit. it certainly didn't help her growth that mousescreech refused to feed her most of the time, so random queens of thunderclan would step in and feed the scrawny little thing.
badgerkit had made it her lifes mission to bully them, receiving praise from it, and weasleykit hust tagged along for the fun. goldenyarrow, their older sister, refused to step a paw towards the kits, weirded out by them.

𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓-𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐂. ━━
finally becoming an apprentice, thornypaw they'd be free of her parents and siblings torment — they weren't, but goldenyarrow finally acknowledged thornypaw. the two siblings spent their time together, thornypaw quickly becoming clingy and anxious whenever goldenyarrow left them alone for too long.

imagine their heartbreak, when goldenyarrow left camp and never returned. without a word, without taking thornypaw with her. leaving them, when they had been the only one showing kindness to them. thornypaw swore to themselves, they'd never open up to anyone again, because who knows, maybe thornypaw had driven their sister away. maybe goldenyarrow leaving had been their fault.

lead by badgerpaw, the other apprentices barely associated with thornypaw. they avoided them, laughed about them and mocked thim with thornypaws siblings. it caused thornypaw to develop the character she know has.

in the battle that took badgerpaw, thornypaw received their nicked ear. they had tried to fight an apprentice from the other clan, but had miserably failed and ended up hiding in the bushes. from then on, thornypaw faught with words, rather than paws. 

𝐀𝐃𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐂. ━━
on their first gathering as a warrior — thornyhiss had become a master at pretending they were sick so they could stay far away from the many social interactions that made their skin crawl just from thinking about — thornyhiss had tried to hide themselves away and watch from afar, rather than be apart of it.

that's where they bumped into flurrystep — the skyclan warrior intrigued them and for the first time ever, thornyhiss felt seen.

after many months of having their secret relationship, thornyhiss grew skittish. flurrystep knew them well, what if they would leave? leave them like goldenyarrow had?

thornyhiss decided it would be best to leave first, because it would be better than to be left, again.

when the sickness fell over the clans and took their brother, thornyhiss wasn't grieving much, but it was the thought of potentially loosing their annoying little sister that drove them to leave the clans and help seek a cure.
