[===]
I'm... confused.
He died.
He's dead.
I watched him die.
I comforted Gem afterwards.
I listened to her as she swore revenge on the circus owner.
I listened to her as she sobbed and said she thought she would get hurt, not him.
Maybe the circus owner knew that it would hurt Gem much more to watch him die than it would to get hurt herself.
But I'm confused.
He's here.
Sausage is standing right in front of me.
He's pushing Gem away as she tries to hug him while crying.
He's so confused. (As confused as a robot can be, anyway)
He doesn't know who she is.
He doesn't know any of us, despite that fact that most of us grew up together.
He looks like a robot.
An android?
It's not Sausage.
I watched him die.
It's a replacement.
A replacement.
An android.
A robot.
A lifeless thing, with all the quirks and personality traits that Sausage has, so the audience still loves him.
But he doesn't know who we are.
He's just a replacement, so the circus owner can still make money. So the circus owner doesn't have to go and look for a real replacement.
Sausage is still dead.
He's still gone.
And we have to be reminded of that by this stupid robot that will never, ever replace him.
No matter how hard it tries.
I said it has the personality traits of Sausage, and it does- when it's announcing acts.
Otherwise, it (he) seems uninterested in any of us. He insults Gem when she tries to speak to him, he pushes Pix away when Pix tries to subtly hint that the robot's human predecessor was a lot nicer to Gem than he was. He just... watches.
I hate it.
I can't deal with this stupid circus any longer, and I don't think anyone else can.
