Chapter VIII
"Yahiro, Akisada, I-I brought two extra people, i-if that's okay!" Hasumi says as walked over to the table with Tsubaki, Ugumori, and Okumara.
"It's fine, the more the merrier!" Yahiro exclaims with a grin as he waved to the three additions to the table.
"Thanks for having us at the table!" Tsubaki chimed in with his own grin as he sat down at the table, the other three following suit.
From there, they small talked. While Tsubaki, Ugumori, and the twins talked the most, Hasumi and Okumara were in their own little worlds. Okumara had become engrossed in his book as he usually did while Hasumi spaced out. Aside from the morning interaction with Shimazaki, the day was going well!
"Sup extra," A familiar voice says to Hasumi, causing the green haired male to jump.
Speak of the devil and he shall appear.
"Ah, g-good afternoon, Shimazaki!" Hasumi greets with a nervous smile.
Okumara looked up from his book and looked between the two, his eyes narrowing a bit at Shimazaki. He could already tell he wouldn't get along with the other. Besides, he could tell Shimazaki was arrogant. He rose a confused brow when the twins perked up and quickly got up, hugging Shimazaki, much to his discontent.
"Oi! Let go of me, brats!" Shimazaki hissed, trying to wriggle out of their grip.
"Shimazaki! It's great to see you! It's been a while since Uncle Bakugou and Uncle Kirishima took you to see us!" Akisada chirps, seeming unaffected by Shimazaki's hostility.
The sight was rather comical to watch. The twins had basically grown up with Shimazaki as the Bakusquad never split. They had kept in touch for a while actually. That resulted in the others knowing each other pretty well. While Akisada and Yahiro kept Shimazaki occupied, Okumara turned his attention to Hasumi and spoke to him in a hushed tone.
"Hasumi, may I ask who that is that rudely approached you?" Okumara asks, looking from Hasumi to Shimazaki and then back again.
"Huh? O-Oh, that's Shimazaki! H-He's Bakugou sensei's son!" Hasumi explains to Okumara.
"I see. From how my Mother and Father described Bakugou Sensei when he was our age, I can see the resemblance," Okumara says with a soft hum, adjusting his glasses a little bit as Hasumi chuckled a little bit.
"Yeah, b-but I wouldn't tell that to Shimazaki! H-He hates being compared to his dad! W-Well, one of his dads!" Hasumi explains a bit loudly, Shimazaki having heard Hasumi.
"Oi, extra! Don't go around telling people my business!" Shimazaki barked, causing the green haired boy to jump.
"You shouldn't call others names. It's rude," Okumara comments with a frown, pushing his glasses up.
"No one asked you, nerd," Shimazaki huffed, the two glaring at each other.
"Shimazaki, be nice!" Akisada scolded as the twins let Shimazaki go, the ravenette rolling his eyes.
"Whatever. Later, extras," Shimazaki said as he turned his back to the group and walked off without another word.
"Well, he's certainly a character," Okumara said before turning his attention to Yahiro and Akisada who were sitting down now. "Since you two seemed to know him the best, is he always like that?"
"Nah, Shimazaki can be nice! He just likes to keep up the tough guy persona," Yahiro explains. "Don't let that discourage you!"
Okumara nodded before he went back to his book as he ate, being careful not to get food on it while chatter filled the table once again. Hasumi couldn't help but glance back at Shimazaki, curious to see where he sat. Honestly, Hasumi had looked up to Shimazaki just as Izuku had looked up to Bakugou. And he wanted to be friends with the hot headed ravenette but...that wasn't working so far.
When he saw Shimazaki, he saw a girl was sitting with him, smiling brightly. Had Shimazaki made friends? That was good! It was good to make friends on the first day. Then, he saw two more people sit at Shimazaki's table and couldn't help but smile. At least Hasumi knew he had some sort of chance now.
Finally being able to, Hasumi ate his lunch, chiming in here and there into the conversation the twins were having with Tsubaki and Ugumori. After what felt like only a few minutes, a bell chimed, signifying lunch was over and it was time to go back to class.
A few hours and school would be over for the day.
