the next morning

While Whitney was still sleeping, Sam took this as an opportunity to call Mal and see how they are doing. Late at night, Mal had texted Sam telling her that they had gotten to Seattle safely.

Sam grabbed his phone and dialed Mal's number. He waited for it to ring and when he thought he would hear his girlfriend's voice it was actually his daughter's voice.

"Hey, baby." Sam says to his daughter, then Spencer had the audacity of screaming happily because she hears her dad's voice.

Sam immediately turned to the little girl that was sleeping on the other bed. He sighed when he saw her still asleep.

"I miss you daddy." Spencer says which made Sam's heart melt at hearing.

"How are you, baby?" Sam asked his daughter with a small smile as he saw from the corner of his eye of Whitney shifting in her dad's arms.

"I'm good, it like seven thirty here." Spencer says to her dad as Dean wasn't really awake, he just didn't want to get up.

He kissed his daughter's head tuning out Sam's conversation with Spencer. Dean moved a strain of Whitney's hair as he watched her sleep contently as she looks nearly innocent of everything around her, especially in the supernatural world.

She stirred in her sleep as Dean was whispering: "it's okay" in her ear which worked as she settled down. A couple minutes later, Dean was still with Whitney. He was too busy watching her, to notice that she had opened an eye.

What made him jump was feeling a pair of hands patting his head. When he saw it was Whitney, another thing made him jump. Seeing her face touching his.

"Shit." Dean whispered and Whitney burst into a fit of giggles at her dad like she thought this was funny. Which it was to her.

"Morning, baby." Dean says to her as she let out a little yawn. He kissed her head which made a small smile start curving at the corner of her lips. Dean started moving around in the bed which made Whitney have a pout.

All she wants is to be snuggling with her dad and he has the audacity of moving around.

How rude.

"What 'ime is it?" Whitney asked as another yawn escaped her lips, as she sat up on the bed before grabbing her stuffed bunny. Just when Whitney got up, that is when Sam ended his phone call with who he thought was Mal, but it was Spencer.

He sighed happily, as he saw from the corner of his eye of Whitney going over to her little suitcase, that she has of her own clothes, and her other prized possession her stuffed elephant. Which is what her dad got her when she was born.

Whitney says that her stuffed bunny and stuffed elephant are best friends, because Sam gave her the stuffed bunny and her dad gave her the stuffed elephant. Despite the two men being brothers they are each other's best friends. So, it makes sense to the little girl of why she says that her two stuffed animals are best friends.

Once, Whitney was done getting dressed in a pair of leggings that had tiny stars on it, and a kid's band t-shirt and then a Metallica hoodie, which of course Dean got her for Christmas last year. Sometimes Sam would question Whitney's outfit choices but then he realizes that Dean raised her, so it makes sense. To complete the look, she has a pair of black converses.

Just when Whitney put on her converse and tied then that's when her dad got out of the bathroom, and he grabs his jacket. He shrugs it on one shoulder as he crosses his room.

"I'm going to grab a little something to eat in that diner down the street. You want anything?" Dean asked his brother as he already knows that Whitney is going to come with him, which is fine because he made a deal with her that when he goes to get breakfast in the morning, she can be passenger princess. Which worked for her.

Dean knows how much she wants to be passenger princess again. She still would sell Sam to be the passenger princess.

THAT IS HER TITLE. NOT HIS.

It's official, ask Dean.

"No, I'm good." Sam says as Whitney grabbed her dad's hand.

"Aframian and Sunny are buying." Dean says with a cheeky smile on his face, as he picked up Whitney and held her tightly in his arms.

"Mm-mm." Sam says as he didn't really feel like wanting to get up from the bed.

Dean and Whitney, walk out of the motel room. He put Whitney down so that he could put on his jacket, as they cross the lot. He looks over and sees a police car where the motel clerk is talking to Deputy Jaffe and Deputy Hein, from yesterday. The clerk points at Dean who turns away and pulls out his cell phone.

Sam's phone beeps, as he looks at it, and presses a button then puts it to his ear. "What?" Sam asked.

"Uh, five-o, take off." Whitney's voice said through the phone. "They spotted Daddy, go 'ammy." Whitney says to her uncle as she didn't give him a chance to say anything as she hung up on her uncle.

Just then the deputies approach the father and daughter, as he turns around and grins at them. "Problem, officers?" Dean asked.

"Where's your partner?" Deputy Jaffe asked the father of Whitney.

"Partner? What, what partner? Unless you want to count my daughter, then no." Dean says to the Deputy.

"So. Fake US Marshall. Fake credit cards. You got anything that's real?" The Deputy asked Dean.

"Me, sir. I am real." Whitney says which didn't help at the moment, as Deputy Jaffe looked at the girl which made her quiet.

"My boobs." Dean says as he grins, then Jaffe slams Dean over the hood of the cop car.

"You have the right to remain silent."

Sheriff's office

Whitney got stuck in the waiting room as Dean is being questioned as she is not happy. On the bright side, she still has her stuffed elephant in her hand. The other reason why she is not happy, is her not having her breakfast, which Dean had promised which would be chocolate chip pancakes. Today is not off to a good start.

Whitney being Whitney decided to not listen to the officers, when they told her to stay put, so she decided to go venture off, while she's at it, and make this a little bit enjoyable. In true, Whitney fashion, she is going to get into trouble.

She started walking around, ducking and or hiding behind things when she saw an officer coming, she peeked, before she had an idea. If she were to go outside and find a phone, she could send in a fake 911 call.

Her smile only grew more mischievously at the very thought of the trouble that she would do. On the bright side she would get her father back, so that is a bonus.

All she wants is to get her father back and then go and get breakfast. Breakfast is more important than anything in life, at least that's how Whitney sees it.

Breakfast and her dad are more important and her priorities of life.

Then again, she's six.

She had to walk around a bit as she could have sworn that she had seen one as she was looking out the window, but she wasn't so sure.

Luckily no one really questioned it that a six-year-old was walking around the little town by herself, which was a good thing because she would probably get sent back to the police station.

When she found a phone, she had to think of an idea of how she was going to reach it. She is too short to reach it on her feet, then she saw a chair at a little restaurant nearby. She decided on taking the chair so that she can reach the phone, when her plan worked, she decided on dialing the police station phone number.

"Hi, this is Lauren at the police station. How can I direct your call?"

"Hi, um, I would like to report something." Whitney says as she had made her voice sound older, so that it wouldn't be too suspicious to the person on the other line.

"What is that sweetie?" Lauren asked Whitney.

"Uh, there are shots fired at Whiteford Road. A man wearing a black jacket, jeans and some boots. I think. He had a rifle on him." Whitney says coming up with the lie, as it definitely wasn't true in the slightest.

"Okay, thanks sweetie. I will send the officers."

Whitney didn't give Lauren a chance to say anything else as she hung up the phone and she made a mad dash back to the police station before her dad left.

When she got to the police station, she caught her breath to make it less obvious. Just then she heard a bunch of people running, as she smiled as her plan worked. She hid behind a plant as she checked to make sure that her stuffed elephant was in her hoodie pocket, and when she felt it's trunk, she knew it was where she left it.

When the coast was clear, and the station was nearly empty she made her break of heading to the room where her dad is. She found a paper clip nearby and she took that. She was going to pick the lock of the door.

"What the?" Dean asked from the other side of the door. When he saw the familiar blonde hair that sported on his daughter's head he smiled. He was confused but didn't want to question it.

"Ready? Get your stuff and let go." Whitney says to her dad as he grabbed the journal and put it in his jacket for now.

"'Bout time, baby."

"You're welcome." Whitney says as Dean has his daughter on his back as she wanted a piggy-back ride of all the walking and running she just finished not too long ago.

She's no dummy. She's not walking.

"Thanks for getting me out, baby." Dean says as Whitney's head rested on her dad's shoulder.

"Wanna know what else I did?" Whitney asked him which made him slowdown of his walking.

"Is it illegal? Should I question?" Dean asked his daughter which made her poke his cheek.

"I made the fake 911 call."

"What did you say this time?" Dean asked, as this wasn't the first time that the girl had to make a fake 911 call. She has only done it five other times in the past.

She knows how to make them as Dean had taught her how. "Shots were fired from Whiteford Road." Whitney tells her dad as he only looked proud of his daughter for doing that. "The funny thing is that is on the other side of town. It should stall them for a bit."

"When's the next town, baby?"

"Do, I look like Uncle Sammy to you? I don't know."

"Okay, sassy, it was just a question." Dean says with a smile on his face, Whitney turned her head so that she kissed her dad's jaw.

"I think that's a sign, right there." Whitney says as Dean turned to where his daughter looked at and he walked towards the sign.

"I'll call Sammy." Dean says as he pulled out his phone as him and Whitney are on the outskirts of town.

"Dean where are you? Where's Whit?" Sam asked from the other end of the call.

"Listen, we got to talk." Dean tells his brother.

"Tell me about it. So, the husband was unfaithful. We are dealing with a woman in white. And she's buried behind her old house, so that should have been dad's next stop." Sam rambles without giving Dean a chance to speak.

"Sammy, would you shut up for a second?" Dean asked his brother.

"I just can't figure out why dad hasn't destroyed the corpse yet." Sam says to his brother.

"Well, that's what I'm trying to tell you. He's gone. Dad left Jericho." Dean says to his brother which made Sam confused for a second.

"What? How do you know?" Sam asked his brother.

"I've got his journal." Dean says as Whitney is next to her dad.

"He doesn't go anywhere without that thing." Sam says.

"Yeah, well, he did this time." Dean says.

"What's it say?" Sam asked.

"Ah, the same old ex-Marine crap, when he wants to let us know where he's going." Dean tells Sam, as the younger Winchester knew what it meant.

"Coordinates. Where to?" Sam asked.

"We're not sure yet." Dean says.

"I don't understand. I mean, what could be so important that dad would just skip in the middle of a job? Dean, what the hell is going on?" Was the last thing that Whitney partially heard from her uncle before she heard.

"Sam? Sam!" Dean raises his voice but nothing from Sam.

"Daddy, what's wrong?" Whitney asked her father.

"Sammy's in trouble." Dean says, Whitney and her dad walk off.

At the abandoned house

The car stops in front of Constance's house. The engine shuts off and so do the lights. "Don't do this." Sam says to Constance as she flickers, as her voice is sad.

"I can never go home." Constance says.

"You're scared to go home." Sam says.

Sam looks back and sees Constance isn't there. He glances around and back and sees her in the shotgun seat. She climbs into his lap, shoving him back against the seat hard enough to recline the seat, as Sam struggles.

"Hold me. I'm so cold." Constance says to Sam.

"You can't kill me. I'm not unfaithful. I've never been!" Sam says.

"You will be. Just hold me." Constance says.

Constance kisses Sam as he continues to struggle, reaching for the keys. She pulls back and disappears, a flash of something horrible behind her face as she vanishes. Sam looks around for a moment, then yells in pain and yanks his hoodie open. There are five new holes burned through the fabric, matching to Constance's fingers, she flickers in front of him, her hand reaching into his chest.

"Stay baby, don't come out until I say." Dean says to Whitney, just then he pulls the trigger on his gun shattering the window and startling Constance. Dean approaches, still firing at her. Constance glares at him and vanishes, then reappears, as Dean keeps firing until she disappears again. Sam manages to sit up and start the car.

Whitney had backed away enough so if something happens, she won't get hurt, at least not too bad.

"I'm taking you home." Sam says as he drives forward. Dean stares after the car. Sam smashes through the side of the house. Dean hurries through the wreckage to the passenger side of the car.

"Sam! Sam! You, okay?" Dean asked his brother. "Can you move?" Dean asked again.

"Yeah. Help me?" Sam asked as Dean leans through the window to give Sam a hand.

Constance picks up a large, framed photograph seen when she brought Troy here, the woman is Constance, and the children are presumably hers.

Dean helps Sam out of the car. "There you go."

Dean closes the car door. They look around and see Constance, she looks up. She glares at them and throws the picture down. A bureau scoots towards Sam and Dean, pinning them against the car. Whitney is nearby but she is quiet, as she had walked through the rubble of Sam driving through the house. The lights flicker, Constance looks around, scared. Water begins to pour down the staircase. She goes over. At the top are a boy and a girl from the photograph. They hold each other's hands, and they speak in chorus.

"You've come home to us, Mommy."

Constance looks at them, distraught. Suddenly they are behind her, they embrace her tightly and she screams, her image flickering. In a surge of energy, still screaming, Constance and the two children melt into a puddle in the floor. Sam and Dean shove the bureau over and go look at the spot where Constance and her children vanished.

"So, this is where she drowned her kids." Dean says as he then suddenly felt a body around him as it was Whitney. He held his daughter's hand.

"That's why she could never go home. She was too scared to face them." Sam says to his brother

"You found her weak spot. Nice work Sammy." Dean says as he slaps Sam on the chest where he's been injured and walks away. Sam laughs through the pain, as Whitney smiles at her uncle.

"Yeah, I wish I could say the same for you. What were you thinking shooting Casper in the face, you freak?" Sam asked his brother.

"Hey. I saved your ass." Dean says as Highway to Hell by AC/DC starts to play. Dean leans over to look at the car. "I'll tell you another thing. If you screwed up my car?" He twists his body to look at Sam. "I'll kill you."

Sam laughs, as Whitney follows her dad, as he is inspecting the Impala, like he would be inspecting her if she had any injuries.

later

Whitney is sleeping in the backseat of the Impala, as her dad and uncle are in the front seats talking about the coordinates. They are keeping their voices down so that Whitney doesn't wake up. Every once in a while, Dean will look at Whitney through the rear window to see if she's okay, he would smile each time seeing that she is just fine.

When they were done talking about the coordinates, which seemed to be a good thing because like Whitney, Dean is tired, and he needs sleep.

"How far is it?" Dean asked his brother.

"About six hundred miles." Sam says.

"Hey, if we shag ass we could make it by morning." Dean says as Sam sighs, as Dean looks at his brother. "You not coming?"

"The interview is in like, ten hours. I gotta be there."

"Is this what you want? We made a fucking good team out there. You want to put that away and become a lawyer or some shit?" Dean says being careful not to raise his voice too much because Whitney is sleeping in the back and because she is a light sleeper.

Sam sighs at his brother, as he knows why he's acting like this. "Look, Dean. I'm sorry, okay. That was before you came to get me, okay."

"Okay, and? What you don't want to be lawyer geek anymore?"

"It's like I want to, because I didn't want to be a hunter. It's the life I wanted but, I'm having second thoughts about it now. Especially since what we have gone through." Sam says to his brother as Dean slows down and comes to a stop, on the side of the road.

"You want to be a lawyer geek or not?"  Dean asked his brother as Sam was hesitant before he shook his head.

"No, but can we stop by the apartment. I want to get cleaned up and showered, and new change of clothes." Sam says as Dean nods his head before driving off again.

After they got to the apartment as Sam had just closed the door. "I'll be back in a bit." Sam says to his brother.

Dean heard moving coming from the back seat and he turned to see his daughter looking at him with one eye open. "Come 'ere baby." Dean says as Whitney got up and maneuvered her way to the front, where her dad is.

When she was within arm's reach Dean grabbed her and pulled her onto his lap, as her back was on the steering wheel. Dean only ever really did this when he needed to talk to Whitney and have a talk with her.

"So, with this happening. I need you to do one thing, baby."

"I'm guessing that Uncle Sammy isn't leaving?" Whitney asked her father before she had cut him off of the last part he was going to say.

"I'm afraid not baby. Don't worry, you will still be passenger princess just not every day, okay." Dean says to Whitney as he knows how much it breaks her heart especially since this isn't going to be a one-time thing, and that her uncle isn't going to be leaving. At least until Mal and Spencer want to come back.

"Can we strap him to the roof?" Whitney suggested to her dad which made him chuckle, but he then shook his head which made Whitney's smile falter a bit.

"'Fraid that can't happen baby. But trust me, don't find ways of getting him to leave either." Dean says which now made Whitney have a frown on her face.

"You're no fun." Whitney says to her dad, which made him lean forward and put his forehead on top of hers.

"I know. I have you, I have to be no fun." Dean says to Whitney as he kissed her head.

A couple minutes later, the father-daughter moment was coming to an end as Sam walked out of the apartment with two duffle bags of stuff, one of clothes and the other one his computer and stuff like that.

Whitney wasn't going to fight it this time and she knew the drill, as she climbed in the backseat, with some help from Dean. He didn't want her to hurt herself, which she has done that before.

But they don't want to talk about it.

Ever.

Sam put his stuff behind his seat, as he then closed that door and got in the passenger seat. Whitney sighed a little as she looked out the window as the sun was slowly coming out. It made Whitney smile as sometimes when Ophelia was still alive, Dean would take Whitney sometimes and they would watch the sun coming from over the trees.

It was a moment that the two of them would never forget.

Whitney came to the conclusion that Sam isn't going to leave but she still doesn't like sharing her dad with anyone.

But she will get used to it.

Eventually.
