After encountering the black cat in the hallway, Alleria walks on as she returns to their classroom.

"Alleria-san. I hope you're okay. Hakuryuu-san seemed upset." Nakahara told Alleria as she waited for Alleria's return outside their classroom.

"Ria-chan, this is unacceptable. The six of us are friends. How can you.. leave us? No wonder he is upset." Takumi followed up with Nakahara's words as he stepped out of the classroom, obviously waiting for this moment as well.

"You don't know.. I don't want it to end up like before.." Alleria looks down, memories of the past started to flow inside her head..

"Someone save us..!"
"Just protect her"
"Her life is what matters"
"Alleria.. I love you!"

Voices from the past haunts her, making her heart ache.

"I won't let it happen ever again." Alleria whispers to herself.

"Here you are.." Junko approaches Alleria, her hands inside her jacket's pockets. She stares at the choker worn by Alleria.

"Oh dear me.. are you all teaming up to confront me..?" Alleria wears a sarcastic smile. "I don't like that. Why can't you all realize that I'm doing this for your safety?" Alleria says as she walks past through them, going back inside the room on her own.

Takumi sighs once more. "She's so stubborn. This is by far the hardest time. Last time she pushed us away, she was hesitant. Now, it seems like she made up her mind." He says as glances at Junko.

"Junko-senpai, is this okay..? Our comrade seems to have a problem.." Nakahara says in a low tone of voice.

"Let's just leave her alone this time. All of this is just hurting you guys. She doesn't want to hurt you, it's hurting her as well." Junko says with her casual smile.

"Making everything complicated" Takumi says with an annoyed look om his face.

After class

Alleria finds herself walking alone, she seems to be very sad and upset.

"Wondering if this pain that you're feeling is part of your bad luck too. Unfortunately, it's not. Ironic."

Loki's words replay inside her head. She wonders.. if not bad luck from a demon, then does that mean that pain was caused by her own feelings and decisions?

By the time she arrived home.. the black cat was sleeping soundly on her bed like earlier. She sighs hopelessly.. but so far, nothing really dangerous happened to her. Which makes her wonder.. is she really unlucky?

The black cat stretches its body and yawns while Alleria simply observes him closely.

"Oh, you're back, human." Loki speaks as he immediately noticed her scent lingering behind him.

"And? What sort of torture do you intend do to with me today?" Alleria crosses her arms as she looks at the cat.

"Don't be so excited." Loki says as he gets up and transforms back to his human form.

Alleria's POV

What's with this retard? It almost feels like I have someone waiting for me to come home..

I pout with an angry face as I look away.

"How was school today, human?" Loki stood in front of me as he asked with an interested face.

"D-don't bother me. I have homework to do!" I warned him as I stormed off to the bathroom to take a bath, I want to relax and clear my mind. "And don't you try to enter the bathroom!" I shouted while I'm inside the bathroom.

"I'm starving. You better make me something to eat, human!" Loki says out loud, commanding me again.

Why is a demon even hungry and hanging around my house?!

I sigh inside the bathroom.

Later on..

It was all of a sudden, quiet, so I became suspicious. I decided to finish my bath and went out with only a towel covering me. Thankfully, Loki was no longer in my room!

Now, before I do my homework, I decided to make some food to eat. My refrigator and my sink has been fixed. Although it costs alot of money.. I had to do that.

"Where is that cat?" I wondered as I cook the food I'm making. I remember him asking me to make him some food, so he popped inside my head. But then again, why should I follow him? He's not my pet that I have to pamper!

I work on my assignment as I eat some food in the living room. Right now.. I feel so peaceful and relaxed.

I wish everyday was quiet like this.

"Or not." Loki suddenly spoke, I was caught off guard that I choked on my food.

Immediately, I grabbed the nearest bottle of water in my fridge and drunk it.

Catching my breath.. because I nearly died!!!

"That's karma for being so selfish" Loki says with his usual mocking face, which I'm already used to seeing, but still it feels annoying!

"I don't remember including you in my obligation list.. cat!" I pointed a finger at him, he only sticks his tongue out, making fun of me. My gaze drops lower to the bag of plastic he was holding in his hands.. "Where did you get that?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Oh this..? I stole some fish from the convenience store." Loki answers my question so casually, it sounds like what he did was nothing unusual. "They are convenient indeed." He chuckled.

"Y-You stole?!?!" I exclaimed. "Don't steal, that's bad!" I got angry at him again.

It's strange how I can be this expressive with Loki. Is it because he knows about my bad luck..?

"I have my own ways to survive and keep on living. What sort of accident did you have today, human? You must have hit your head so badly, you thought demons aren't bad." Loki smirked devilishly. "It's only day 1 of our 365.. don't feel so relaxed. I'm a demon cat, can't you see?" A dark aura seemed to start coating Loki and his eyes glowed.

I froze right where I stood. He's right. Maybe I'm out of my mind to think demons like him can be nice.

He's the main reason why bad things are happening to me now. I would be in complete peace if he had just left me alone.

"Of course.. I won't forget. I will survive and for now endure a year without my friends.. then I will come back to them, after I outdo you." I decided to hop in on his game. I smiled back at him, which somehow made him stop looking so serious.

"Let me see you suffer, human." Loki said as he walked past through me, only to prepare eating his own fish.

I went back to my usual chores and finished my homework.

"Now I have to clean up after his own mess too..? What am I, a nanny?" I said in a low tone of voice as I looked at the fish bones scattered in the kitchen. "And he falls asleep right after eating. What a kid!" I said as I glanced at him, who was already sleeping in my bed.

But he is in his cat form, which is actually acceptable so I didn't argue anymore. My phone still continues receiving messages.. yet I still decided to ignore them..
I lay in bed gently.. because I wouldn't want to disturb or to awaken the evil cat! I stare at his body as a cat.. if you stare too long, it feels like he is magnetizing you with his majestic beauty.. unconsciously, my hand moves towards him, I wanted to touch his fur.. but I stopped myself from doing so.

The next morning..

"OMG!!!!!!!!!!!" I screamed as I found Loki, the demon cat, scratching his claws against my notebook, the one where my homework is. His face seems like he is so relaxed. Quickly, I snatched the notebook away from that cat, in hopes that I can still save the pages that I worked on. "You evil cat! This is where I did my math homework.. MATH HOMEWORK!" I keep yelling at him uncontrollably and so far I'm relieved that none of the neighbors has complained yet.

"Why are you so angry, human? The paper p-provoked me! It wanted me to fight it. It's not my fault, hmph!" Sounding guilty and confused at the same time, Loki defends himself with a lame excuse.

"A piece of paper provoked you? No way! You just did it to make fun of me.. I worked so hard to finish my math homework on time.." I glared at him as I hold the scratched pages in my hands. Unbelievable..

"What even is a math homework..? I don't get what you're so upset about, human!" Loki yells back at me, he seems to be very defensive which is unusually funny...

"Don't tell me you don't know what math is! You demons invented it to torture students!" I cry out to him as I accuse him even harder. It's fun, because he obviously looks guilty.

"Whatever you say, human. It matters not to me." Loki says with a proud face. It seems like be refuses to look guilty and apologetic anymore.

"Apologize to me right now.. cat!" I pointed a finger at him.

We continued bickering but it had to end when I had to go to school. Tuesday is today.. I have lost count of how many times I've become unlucky thanks to Loki.

In class...

"Please pass your homework right now." The teacher says.

All the students stand up one by one and pass on their homeworks. I feel so nervous because this teacher is mad one.

"Alleria-san.. where's your homework?" The teacher's glasses glinted and he seemed very serious.

"I.." I gulped and sweated because I have nothing to show.

"Pst.. Alleria" Yuu-chin called out to my attention, holding out a piece of paper and it had all the answers.

My eyes widened. However, I shook my head as I refuse to keep relying on Yuu-chin. I looked away and I feel bad once again.. for rejecting him continuously.

"I didn't do mine.." I said in a low tone of voice. I feel so ashamed.

The teacher started scolding me for not doing anything. When in fact, I truly did something.

After class

As I walk home alone once again.. I take a deep sigh and placed my hands inside my pockets.

Right when I was about to take a step forward, Takumi-kun called out to me.

"Ria-chan" Takumi's voice sounded casual and friendly.

I looked back and found Yuu-chin standing along side Takumi-kun. I immediately avoided his Yuu-chin's eyes. I knew exactly what kind of face Yuu-chin would make if I avoided him like this. He would look so sad. Takumi was smiling but I know he's just trying to make me get back together with them.

"Shall we walk home together? The three of us? Nakahara-san already left." Takumi invites me to join them. However, I've made up my mind to free myself from my bad luck curse first before reuniting.

I fake my smile as I answer, "Unfortunately, I can't go with you guys from now on. I hope you understand. I'm sorry." I know..

Takumi's smile was empty. "Is that so? I see. No prob" he returned my false smile.

..Back home

Here I am. Standing in front of my door. I quickly search for my key.. but I started to panic when I couldn't feel it in my pocket. Did Takumi-kun steal it? No.. he's skilled to do that but why? And we were standing far from each other. There's no way..

My eyes widened when I came upon realization.. that during my fight earlier with Loki, I forgot to bring it with me and left it on the table.

"Did I.. did I just lock myself out?!?!?!" I scream in panic. 

Crap. I don't even have a spare. In fact, the key that I have is THE spare key.

"Loki?! Loki! Are you inside??" I kept ringing the doorbell, hoping that he's inside, but I got no answer so far.

Time runs continuously... and it's getting colder..

I brace myself as I tremble due to the weather.. I checked for the windows, but I always made sure to lock them. I contacted the owner, but I got no response as well. She did mention thay she is only available during Fridays and visits on Saturdays.

"What do I do..?" I said with a despaired look on my face. I was tired of standing, so I sit against the door. It's already 7 in the evening. "I'm freezing.. it's so cold.." at times like this, if I sent a message to the gang.. to anyone of them, they will immediately come to my rescue. But I don't want to be treated like a princess.. not anymore. "Where should I go..?"

Feeling tired, I close my eyes for a second. Not knowing that I may fall asleep immediately if I did.

End of Alleria's POV

Alleria fell asleep covered in snow in front of her door.. where the black cat, in his human form, stumbled upon her.

"Huh?" Uncertain, Loki tilted his head. "The foolish human seems to be unable to enter her sanctuary." He speaks in a low tone of voice while staring deeply at Alleria's sleeping face. "Truly stupid" Loki found it amusing.

Using his magic, he enters the house on his own. Immediately, he spotted the key and picks it up. He opens the door and it woke Alleria up.

"Oi, human. Looking for this?" Loki holds out her key with a mischievous smile on his face.

"Y-you..! Stupid cat!" Despite just waking up, Alleria snaps out of her sleepiness because of Loki's triggering acts.

"I hid it." Loki sticks his tongue out as he attempts to make her even more angry.

"So you've been inside the house all along!!! I'm so hungry.. I've been ringing.. but you didn't open the door!" Alleria shouts at his face while trying to take the key away from Loki's hands.

Loki raises his hand up, holding the key. He keeps evading Alleria's hand, so she won't be able to take it back. She jumps around trying to reach the key in his hand.

"Why should I get up just to open the door for you? I don't care even if you freeze outside. You forgot the key. It's your own fault." Loki keeps putting the blame on Alleria, agitating her.

"Okay, okay! It's my fault.. just give it back now!" Alleria pleads to Loki. She jumps once again and lost her balance.

However.. Loki caught her in the blink of an eye before she even fell. There was a moment of silence.

Alleria was somehow speechless and blinked her eyes a few times. Trying to make sure that what happened wasn't just her imagination.

"Oops" Loki realized that he helped her and lets her go, allowing her to fall down but the pain was mininum.

"Ouch! Hey!!!" Alleria snapped back to reality and thinks that Loki was just making fun of her. She chases him around the house as he hides the key from her.

"Just make some food already" Loki commands her.

"You let me wait outside for a long time and I'm the one who's hungry! You owe me, mister! Besides, THIS is MY place." Alleria argues with Loki once again.

"Not anymore. I'm the new master of this place as long as I have this key." Loki says with a proud look on his face.

Alleria suddenly faints because she was exhausted due to the stress and the cold she endured for a short period of time outside. This time, she fell directly on her bed.

Loki calms down as well and realized she just lost consciousness. "You will endure much more pain aside from this, human. You must keep hanging if you want to get over my own misfortune." Loki smirks as he speaks in a cool tone of voice.
