My heart drops. My eyes widen. I feel a stab of a sword through my heart.

"What?" I choke out.

"I'm sorry Miss Karou, but I can't go back with you." Kenshin says.

"Kenshin, what are you talking about?" I ask.

"I belong here. This is my  punishment. It is not for you so suffer along with me." He says.

"But... Kenshin-" I start.

"What do you choose Battosai?" Tshuyu asks.

"Shut up!" I yell.

I run forward. I grab Kenshin.

"Kenshin! You damn bastard what are you saying?" Sano asks.

"I'm saying I can't, won't leave this place." He shakes his head.

"You can't even if you wanted to." Tshuyu says.

"You are dead." The angel says.

"Shut up! Everyone shut up!" I yell.

I shake Kenshin.

"Please, let's go. You don't deserve to be down here." I say.

"Actually, he does." The angel and Tshuyu say in unison. 

"Hey! Karou told you two big wigs to shut up!" Sano yells.

"Karou... I bring cancer. I bring death wherever I go." I say.

"No! That's not true Kenshin!" I yell.

"Kind of is." The two monsters both say.

"Hey! Shut it!" Megumi yells.

Kenshin takes my hand.

"You have a life unspoiled by me." Kenshin says.

"No! I won't let you go!" I say.

"Please Karou, I'm a monster." Kenshin says.

"Kenshin! Don't be stupid!" Sano yells.

"I've never actually seen so clearly." Kenshin smiles.

"Kenshin! Please! Please! I won't let you go!" I scream.

"I'll let you go then." Kenshin turns.

"Good choice." Tshuyu says.

"Well, that settles it." The angel grabs me.

"No! Kenshin! Kenshin!" I scream.

Kenshin pulls off his shirt. He hands it to me. Kenshin! Please! Don't leave me! This isn't your home! This isn't who you are. I know you. I try to pull away from the angel. I see Sanoski running toward him. The angel grabs him and throws him through the portal. Tears swell in my eyes.

"Keep this." He turns.

"Come along Battosai, we're already late." Tshuyu says.
