I have used and will continue to use the word "dichotomy" even though I don't mean it. That's because it's a bad habit that I am in the process of correcting. 

There is no such thing as a dichotomy. Binary is an illusion. We only use it because it makes sense to. Because we are lazy and it hurts our brains to start thinking in other dimensions. Honestly, its a lot easier to think of a new colour. 

I.e.

A non-static colour that exists outside of time. Something like Schrödinger's Cat.

Edit - for further imagination, it's sort of like the Copenhagen interpretation: you were "working" before your parents come into your room. Well, you might have been, but only you know the truth and it is your parents who make the interpretation.

Interpretation: You were(n't) working before we came into your room, but after coming in you stopped because of the distraction.

There are no dichotomies in the absence of constraints; dichotomies are merely an output from a controlled input.

I.e. something is black or white due to the constraints of the understanding of the colour spectrum. In reality, it is merely a variation of light, but we ourselves discriminate (a survival instinct) which creates the sense of dichotomies.
