It had been a few days; Noah stood in front of his bathroom mirror, changing the bandaid on his chin.

Alexa didn't lie when she said she had a punishment awaiting him, he had never received a beating like that before, ever.

His eyes were red at the lack of sleep, dry from how much he had cried. He wanted this abuse to be over, for her to leave him a line, only he could end it!

Yet.. he knew that I'd he tried, she'd only hurt him far more than she did now..

Noah stares at his reflection for a long while; the bruises on his face, his tired eyes, it was all so disappointing..

"When did I become so miserable..?"

He walked over to his bed, letting himself fall on it before letting out a heavy sigh. Maybe he could contact someone..?

Who would her talk to..?

His parents were always so busy nowadays, and he doubted his sister wanted to talk about something him anytime soon. Alexa has isolated him from his friends too; Nate was the only friend he had, but he had classes at this hour.

He was alone..

... almost alone..

At the sight of his phone, he got an idea. He remembered the girl from a few days ago, they had a nice conversation. Maybe they could talk again.

Noah grabbed the little paper from his drawer and his phone, putting her number in. However, when it was time to send the first text, he found himself hesitating.

He had already typed the simple greeting, but his mind began to think: maybe she's busy, maybe she won't want to talk, maybe she doesn't even like him!

As his mind began to race, he accidentally sent the message, eyes widening at the act. He dropped the phone in bed, backing away from it as his back presses against the bed.

A minute or two past, there was no response. Part of him was relieved, her a little bummed that she didn't respond. To his surprise though, he looked up at the sudden vibration.

"Hey!" -I

He stared in shock, she actually answered! Taking the phone back, he let a small smile grow on his face.

"Oh, I uh, didn't think you'd answer." -N

He regretted that message as soon as he sent it.

"I always try to answer all my texts, unless I don't like the person. 🤣" -I

"Haha, okay." -N

'Well, at least that means she likes me.' He thought as he read the message.

"Anyways, what's up?" -I

"Nm, I just wanted to chat with someone." -N

"Well you texted the right chick cuz-
... I'm bored as heck rn. TwT" -I

"Lol."
"So... what do we talk about..?" -N

"Random Question Time!!"
"Random Question #1: Got any pets??" -I

"Not right now, no." -N

"I got a cat, name's Luna. UwU" -I

"Heh, sounds cute!" -N

She sent a picture of a little black cat with a white spot on its forehead sleeping at a couch's end. The picture brought a smile to Noah's face, it had been a while since he last saw a cute animal.

"Aw!" -N

"I called her Luna cuz the white spot on her head looks like a moon. O3O" -I

"You use emoticons a lot, don't you?" -N

"Is that your Random Question #2?" -I

"I guess?" -N

"Yes. UwU" -I

"Alright. 😂" -N

"Out of all the things you could ask, you went with that?" -N

"Oh I definitely couldn't tell by your hair and clothes. 🙄😂" -N

"I'm not." -N

"Wow, you weren't kidding when you said you used emotions a lot. 😐" -N

"They're adorable! O3O"
"So what's your Random Question #4?" -I

"Um.."
"Favorite food?" -N

"Chocolate. .-." -I

"Does that count as food? 😂" -N

"CHOCOLATE. .-." -I

"I love chocolate too, although I haven't had some in a while." -N

"Tf, why??" -I

"Let's just say I haven't had time to do much lately.." -N

"Well, are you free anytime soon? We could hang out sometime!" -I

Noah stares at the phone for a while. He wasn't against the idea, he actually liked the thought of hanging out with someone after so long. But then again, what would Alexa say..? What would she do..?!

Well.. maybe she didn't have to know.

"Sure, I'm free tomorrow after 1pm." -N

"Sweet! How big's your love for coffee?" -I

"I love it. 😊" -N

"Same!
We can meet at Coffee Town, it's near Stargazed." -I

"Ik. What hour?" -N

"Around 2pm." -I

"Alright, see you then." -N

"Bai bai! UwU👋" -I

A smile was spread across Noah's face. He didn't know why, but something about tomorrow brought a strange joy to him.
