It had been many months.

The June sun lit up Noah's whole apartment, making him hide his head under his bedsheets like every other morning.

It was surprising how much had changed since then. Better friends, freedom, therapy, his mindset had become much better. Sure, it was a difficult process, but it was worth it.

He had reconnected with his parents, spent time with Sage and his little brother Will. Life had just gotten better in general since Alexa was taken away forever.

Looking up at the sound of his phone vibrating, he let out a groan, picking it up to see a familiar message.

"Noahhhhhhhhhhhhh-" -I

Lying back down, he stared up at his phone with a smile. Never would he have guest that the random girl he met at the bar one day would mean so much to him.

It was obvious to the both of them that they had deep feelings for each other, and not in the friendship way. Though with everything that happened, they both needed some time for themselves, so neither said anything about it.

"Summoned." -N

"What's up? UwU" -I

"You woke me up, you tell me. 😐" -N

"Well......"
"Lidia invited all of us to hang out at Coney Island today, you wanna go?" -I

"Sure, when?" -N

"2:30."
"Meet us at the front gates." -I

"I'll be there." -N

"Okeh! UwU👍" -I

After another hour of sleep, he got dressed and left his home. He already lived pretty close by, no subway needed, and who didn't like a good walk?

Soon enough, he saw his group of friends all by the gates, Iv spotting him and walking over with a smile. "Hey!"

"Sorry if I'm a bit late."

"Nah, we got here like five minutes ago." She waved her hand in dismiss, then nodded for him to follow. "C'mon, I'm been craving funnel cake all day!"

He laughed a bit, following the whole group inside.

Hours of endless fun had passed by, spending the day as a group and sometimes dividing into smaller groups or pairs.

Noah and Iv sat at the top of the Ferris Wheel, the orange and pink shades of the sunset lighting the place to a soothing atmosphere. Stretching her arms above her head, she let out a sigh. "Fun day, huh?"

"Besides getting all my food thrown everywhere."

Iv snickered, resting her head back. "Gave you a refund though, and free food."

He shrugged. "Won't complain."

Noah looked over, seeing her features illuminated from the sunlight, his cheeks growing pink at the sight. She was really is a beautiful girl, outside and inside.

He was lucky to have her as a friend, having her through his darkest moment, as much as he regretted hurting her because of it.

She looked over, noticing him staring and raising an eyebrow. "You okay..?"

"... yeah, I'm just thinking.."

"What about..?" She sat up straight, her hair blowing in the soft breeze.

When he didn't answer, her expression fell a bit in worry, gently placing her hand over his. "Hey.. you know you can talk to me.."

Noah's cheeks grew darker, looking down at their hands. He stared down at them for a few seconds, and gently tangled his fingers with hers, making her grow pink.

"I-I was just.. thinking about us.."

Her eyes a bit wide, Iv stared back as he looked up at her, not pulling her hand away. Instead, she kept a small grip on it. "What about us..?"

"Well, just.." A small smile grew on his face. "Just about how grateful I am to have you after all of this.. I know it's been hard for us, for you to deal with something you weren't even involved with, but.. it all means so much to me.."

Her cheeks grew darker, returning the smile. "I wasn't just gonna leave you to deal with this on your own.."

Another few seconds of silence passed by as they stared into each other's eyes. He then gently pushed a few strands of hair that flowed over her face back behind her hair, his hand cupping his cheek. Her cheeks grew darker at the act, but she didn't complain about it..

Instead, she leaned into his touch, placed her hand over his with a smile.

Could this be it..?

Noah bit his lip, nervous of whatever might happen, but ignoring it for a few seconds as he leaned closer to her. She did the same, their noses brushing against each other.

Sensing what was about to happen, she paused. "... a-are you sure you're okay with this...?"

The smile on his face was genuine, forgetting every danger, forgetting every fear, everything that kept him in his tiny little bubble, even if just for a short while..

"I'm sure..."

She smiled back at his response, closing their eyes and sharing a tender and gingerly kiss. It only lasted for a few seconds, but neither regretted any of it.

He stared down at her, his hand still holding hers. "I... I-I love you, Iv..."

She grew darker, her smile not leaving her face.

"I love you too, Noah..."

With that, they shared another kiss. They truly did love each other, only wanting happiness for the other, and hopefully gaining it together.

Even after a terrifying storm, there is a beautiful rainbow that awaits.
