𝙼𝚒𝚔𝚎'𝚜  𝚙𝚘𝚟

I woke up quite on time. It was 9:20AM. Denzel sleeping with his back against mine while George was lying on his back and had both of his arms wrapped around me. I gently tried to climb out of them and successfully succeeded. I gave Denzel a scratch and his head shot up. He climbed off the bed and together we walked downstairs. I grabbed my coat and zipped it close. I clicked Denzel his leash on his collar and then took George's key. I walked out of the house and down to the streets of London where people started their Monday's. I quickly let Denzel pee and poop.

?: "excuse me?"

Mike: "yes?"

?: "could I maybe take a picture with you?"

Mike: "yes of course."

I let Denzel sit away a few meters as he was already showing teeth. I quickly took a picture with the girl and then we said bye. I walked back into the apartment and let Denzel off leash again before I hung up my coat. I gave Denzel his feed and then laid down on the couch. I turned on the tv and turned on a series that I had actually never seen but was one of the only things that was okay. After some time the stairs squealed making me look up. A sleepy George walked down the stairs and straight to the kitchen. I turned my head to him in confusion. He was filling a glass of water and when he turned around a scream left his mouth.

Mike: "what?"

George: "I forgot that you were here."

A hand on his heart as he was released. I laughed at him... hard.

Mike: "how can you forget your girlfriend is at your house? Like really?"

George: "sorry but I just woke up in an empty bed."

He was now standing behind me and I leaned my head back to look at him. He pecked my lips before he sat down on one of the armchairs in his apartment. He drank his water while we watched whatever was on tv. After some time we both got ready and we drove to my apartment to drop off Denzel and head to the adoption center to meet Zeus the Rhodesian Ridgeback. The center looked modern and nice. We were waiting in a small room with 2 couches, a rug, a coffee table and of course windows and lamps. George and I both sat down on a couch and when the door opened a guy with Zeus walked in. His name was Leon.

Leon: "here is our star, Zeus. He is a bit shy at the beginning but I think you'll be alright."

Mike: "okay thank you!"

The dog took his distance and looked a bit skeptical to us. He was debating whatever he was going to do. I stood up and sat down against a wall taking out my phone and scrolling thru Instagram.

George: "what are you doing?"

Mike: "sitting on the ground so he can easily reach out to me and doing something else so he doesn't feel pressured."

George sat down next to me and looked with me on my phone. After a while I felt sniffs on my leg. I locked my phone and looked at the dog who was sniffing my pants. I slowly stretched my hand out and he shyly sniffed it before he became more enthusiastic about the smell. I slowly petted the Rhodesian Ridgeback and felt his body relax as he knew it was okay.

Mike: "well aren't you lovely Zeus?"

He went on to George and when that was good as well we both shared a happy smile. We clicked his leash back on and went to the little walking area outside. He was perfect on leash and not pulling a lot. We walked around a bit and played around.

George: "so? What do think about him?"

Mike: "I think he's perfect. Still young but already well behaved and trained."

George: "then we will get him."

A massive smile played on my face as I gave George a hug. He really wasn't joking when he told me he would get me a dog for my birthday.

Mike: "thank you Georgie."

George: "no problem Mikie."

We let go and looked at Zeus who was happily sniffing over the field. I giggled softly at the sight of my soon to be dog. George went in to the reception to get paperwork done and let them know we would pick him up exactly next week after race week. I gave Zeus a last pet and hug before we left him at the center. We got into the car and I looked one last time at the center. Next time we would get here I would get Zeus... my own dog. I looked to my side to see a smile on George's face. I kissed his cheek a few times and then leaned my head on his shoulder.

Mike: "thank you for Zeus."

George: "like I said once before. No problem love."

Mike: "it's a big gift George really not nothing."

George: "and your worth it Mikie."

He kissed my hair and then returned his eyes on the road. A satisfied sigh left my mouth as we were on our way to the pet store to get some stuff for him.
I already had a bed. The one from Denzel. I only needed treats, food, a bowl to feet and a water bowl. Oh toys not to forget and leashes plus collars. This is gonna be fun. We walked into the pet store and grabbed a cart. I had all stuff in the card and payed for all as I was faster then George this time with pulling my card out. We placed everything in his car and loaded everything out and into my apartment when we arrived there. Denzel sniffing all the stuff he could grab. The toys in a bag so he couldn't already tear them apart before Zeus even was here. I placed everything away while George chilled a bit on the couch. I started the simulator afterwards and had my 2,5 hours on the sim. I was on my last lap when George walked in.

George: "ah getting practice in hope your gonna beat me? You absolutely could without."

Mike: "ah cute. Wouldn't say that on track tho."

I gave him a playful wink before he looked with me over my shoulders. I set a good lap and then got out.

Mike: "you can go if you want?"

George: "ah yes nice. Do you mind if I stream a bit with Lando?"

Mike: "as long as your not to loud?"

George: "great thanks. Oh tell me when your going to bed? I will join you okay?"

Mike: "I will text you okay?"

He nodded at me and I closed the door behind me as I left the room. I didn't tell? We had dinner on the way home from the pet store as it was already a bit late. I changed into some sports clothes and did and went on a 5 kilometer run with Denzel. Afterwards I took a shower and changed into Bordeaux sweatpants with a white shirt of George. I had my hair in 2 Dutch braids as I cleaned the kitchen. Afterwards I cleaned the dinning space and living room. I looked on my phone when I wanted to skip one of the songs that played thru my airpods and saw it was already 23:57PM. Tomorrow I had to be at the office so I decided to go to sleep. I texted George and when I passed the sim room I heard his laugh and voice. I smiled and walked to my bathroom. I brushed my teeth and climbed into bed. Denzel laid down against my chest as I laid on my sight and I placed a kiss on his head.

Mike: "good night baby Denzel."

I laughed at a joke of Lando before we said goodbye. I locked the sim and stopped the Discord call and stream. I picked up my phone and saw that Mike had texted me 2 hours ago that she was going to sleep. It was already 02:14AM. I walked upstairs quiet but fast and brushed my teeth. I was already in shorts and shirt so I climbed in bed with Mike on her side while her arms were wrapped around Denzel. I kind of felt bad that Denzel had to take my place. I was on stream way longer then I was planning on and left Mike alone in her own apartment. I kissed her cheek gently and wrapped my arms around her warm and sleepy body.

Mike: "hi."

Her voice was hoarse and full of sleep while her head turned to me. Her eyes squinted.

George: "hi... you can go back to sleep... good night."

Mike: "night love."

I placed a kiss on the back of her neck a few times before I let my head rest against it and fell asleep with her in my arms. Tomorrow we would both have to go work and afterwards I had to go home to meet some friends in London for dinner.
