Gwyneth "Gwen" Freedman was a normal girl trying to navigate her way through life. Born into a wealthy family in Philadelphia, Gwen was what many people would consider spoiled yet, she would argue differently. Gwen recognized her wealth and the opportunities it provided her but she was argue that her friend Cory Matthews and Shawn Hunter was luckier. They perhaps weren't rich in the financial sense but they were rich with love, something than Gwen often found she was quite indigent in. She never got to meet her father who had died in a motor accident before she was born, leaving only her mother, Allison, who was often too distracted by maintain her social standing to care for her young daughter. The Freedman daughter paid little mind to her mother however, often finding herself spending time at the Matthews household which acted as a second home for the yond girl, where she would receive the love and attention that her mother never provided. Spending time at the Matthews house also allowed her to bond with Shawn Hunter who, despite their completely different upbringings, understands Gwen's feelings and can't help but develop an attachment to the girl. As the group of friends grow up together they begin to discover that perhaps there are things in the world that they don't understand.

Anyway after he saved me from the dangerous llamas that were after my head, we bumped into Gwen who was running away from her babysitter. I swear Shawn's entire face brightened as he went to help her up and after that it was just obvious. Later on she transferred from her preppy boarding school to John Adams and he told me he was going to marry her.❞

I mean I can't tell you how many nights where it has just been Gwen on the phone with me going on and on about how amazing Shawn is. Or how many times Shawn has called her Mrs. Hunter behind her back when he thought we couldn't hear. It reminds me of Cory and I.❞

𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝕸𝖊𝖓𝖙𝖔𝖗: ❝Mr. Hunter has never once turned in a paper in his life except for one time when Miss Freedman was sick during their group project. I recall the poor young boy spent three hours figuring out how to, in his words: use the library so that Gwen doesn't fail. That was when I knew that Miss Freedman was a good influence on the Hunter boy.❞

𝓚𝓪𝓽𝓮 𝓦𝓪𝓵𝓼𝓱  as  𝓐𝓵𝓵𝓲𝓼𝓸𝓷 𝓕𝓻𝓮𝓮𝓭𝓶𝓪𝓷

𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝕸𝖔𝖙𝖍𝖊𝖗: ❝I never understood why you wanted to spend time with the Hunter boy. I mean he has a terrible background, barely a dime to his name, and doesn't even have a promising future ahead of him. There are so many eligible bachelors out there that would be so much better for you. However, I can't argue with the fact that I have never seen someone love another person so strongly and selflessly in my life. ❞
