3rd PERSON POV

Uzo was sitting on a couch in her room when Mide walked in. "I need help!" Mide said as she sank into Uzo's bed laying on her back. Uzo teared her gaze away from her phone with arched brows. "With?"

Mide groaned. "I don't know what to wear" she sighed in exhaustion. "Where are you going to?"
"On a date". Uzo practically screamed.
"You're going on a freaking date with freaking Desmond right?"

Mide nodded causing Uzo to squeal. "Will your help me?" Mide asked already tired of the sounds Uzo made.
"Sure. Let's go to your room"

After picking six outfits for her, Uzo thought she had done a great job but Mide decided none of the outfits would be good enough. "It's a dinner not an award show Mide. Pick something already" Uzo was fed up with Mide being Choosey.

After five more minutes, Mide settled for a short jean gown and a pair of slip-on sneakers.

At few minutes to six, a knock was heard at the door and Mide rushed downstairs alongside Uzo. Immediately Mide opened the door, she couldn't help but smile at the tall and well built piece of cake standing before her. Desmond couldn't tear his gaze from her body because she looked breathtaking.

They stared at each other for what seemed like minutes and only stopped when Uzo made a throaty sound.
"Come on" Desmond said leading her out. "Have fun guys" Uzo yelled behind them before closing the door.

As soon as she turned, she meet Timi staring at her. She casted her gaze to the floor as her heart took a different pace. He smiled knowing fully well that he had effect on her. "What are you doing this evening?" He asked

"Um...nothing" She shrugged.

"Great! Go get dressed. We're going out"

"Where to?"

"A new Karaoke club in town. It's gonna be fun. You'll love it, I promise"

She beamed and made her way up the stairs to her room. She decided on a white shirt and a pair of black jeans with a pair of sandals to go with.

Once downstairs, they got into the car and drove out of the compound. The drive to the Karaoke club was about twenty minutes and it was a comfortable one with little chats here and there.

As soon as they parked the car, they made their way into the club. It was a really simple yet extravagant place with a small bar.

They got seated at the bar and ordered a bottle of red cocktail which they drank together watching the girl on the stage. She sang Ariana Grande's  7rings so beautifully making Uzo move her body subconsciously. Timi noticed the involuntary act and smiled. "You wanna sing?" He asked and she nodded in approval.

He walked over to the side of the stage and told the guy that sat there to let them sing after the next group. The next group sang Don't let me down by chainsmokers. Resounding applause filled the air as they ended the song.

Timi and Uzo walked to the stage and the intro to Señorita by Camila cabello and Shawn Mendes came on. The intro ended and they song started.

Timi came next singing Shawn Mendes's part.

And both their voices were raised moving in sync. There was more to the song. It was not just a song to them as they sang from their hearts.

Singing made Uzo more confident as she moved over to Timi hands wrapped around his neck in a fierce manner getting 'oohs' and 'ahhs' from the crowd as she sang Camila cabello's part.

Uzo ended it and the crowd gave them a standing ovation. It was really beautiful. Though their voices weren't professional, it was beautiful because they sang it from their heart. They left the stage as soon as they gave a curt bow.

The returned to their seat and watched a few more groups before Timi decided it was high time they left. "But it's just 7pm" She said it was rather too early to go back home

"We're not going back home. Come with me" He said to her and she took his hand as they made their way out of the karaoke club.

In five minutes, they arrived at their destination and they got out and walked into the exquisite restaurant. Timi led her to a secluded part of the restaurant. It was decorated with flowers and rose petals. It was a compartment only for the two of them.

Uzo was beyond grateful. "This is so beautiful"

"Beautiful things for a beautiful girl"

He called the waiters and they placed their orders. In no time, they received their orders and started eating. Timi watched Uzo intently as she chewed not so softly. A smile graced his lips. How was I so lucky to have her. He thought and she continued eating with no care of the world oblivious to the stares he sent her way.

Suddenly, the lights went off and Uzo groaned. She put on her phone's flashlight and the sight before her took her by surprise. Timi was on his right knee with a small box in his hands. Her eyes widened. Is he freaking going to propose. She thought as she watched him not uttering a word. The light came back on and her jaw dropped at the banner and balloons that she knew were not there before but most importantly, the words written on them.

ISABELLA,WILL YOU BE MY GIRLFRIEND?

To say she was abashed would be an understatement. It all felt surreal,like she was in a crazy dream. Timi finally spoke up. "So Uzoamaka Isabella Edogo. Will you be my girlfriend?"

She couldn't contained her excitement as she hugged Timi who was already on his feet. She hugged him tight. "Yes, yes Timi, I'll be your girlfriend"

"Really?" He asked pulling her away so he could watch her facial expression. She nodded vigorously. He embraced her stroking her hair softly as she smiled against his chest. My very own boyfriend. She thought as she drew circles on his shirt with her fingers.

The waiter walked in with a pan which he dropped on the table. He opened it and Uzo's eyes widened. It was a medium sized banana cake.
'She said yes!' was body written on it. She made for the cake beaming. "Thank you so much Timi"

He smiled watching her as she devoured the cake. "Come and join me, it's really good" She said beckoning him to join her.

"I will, but first, I have something for you."

He opened the small box in his hand and brought out a silver neckpiece.
"It's a necklace and a locket" he said to Uzo who just stared at the jewelry in awe. He opened the round pendant and handed it over to Uzo. "It's a picture of you and I" she cooed.

"I hope you like it"

"I love it. Too bad I didn't get you anything"

"You don't have to. Seeing your face alone is enough for me" She grinned as she wore the neckpiece around her neck. "I love you" She sighed as she rested her forehead against his. "I love you more" he responded.

Uzo and Timi walked into the house. It was only few minutes past eight. They met both Mide and Michelle seated in the living room. They wore toothy grins as the new couple walked into the house.

"Welcome back guys" Mide called. She was dressed in her pajamas. "Desmond said that you're both invites to his birthday on Friday"

"Alright" "Sure"
"How was your date?" Uzo asked Mide. "I'll tell you all about it later. Go freshen up" Uzo made her way up the stairs.

"Timi your father is back and he wants you in his study" Michelle said to him and he went upstairs to his father's study.

"Good evening Dad." he greeted as he walked into the study. His father turned to him. "What is this?" His father barked angrily holding an object at Timi. Timi took a quick glance at the object and instantly knew that he was screwed.

A paintbrush

"Can you explain yourself? I saw this lying on the floor right in front of your room. Are you still painting Timilehin?"

He kept shut and watched his father. "Young man, I have told you, you're a businessman and not an artist. I know you're still doing it secretly. I mustn't ever see this thing. Get rid of it before I do" He said and walked out. Timi slammed his hand against the table. "Bloody hell" he cursed and stormed out.

Uzo watched as Mr Adenuga walked away. She was on his way to his study to welcome him but stopped to eavesdrop on their conversation. She knew it was wrong of her but she couldn't help it. She followed Timi as soon as he walked out of the study.

She walked into his room and saw him laying on his back on his bed. She gently closed the door. "Hey you okay?" He nodded and she paused to examine him for a while. "I heard it all" She said and he looked at her and gave her a small smile. "It's gonna be fine. Come here, I won't let it ruin my mood"

She walked over to his bed and lay right beside him. Her head on his chest listening to the sound of his heart beating and he wrapped his hands around her waist snuggling.
