TIMI'S POV

I kept trying to focus on the mobile game I was playing on my phone but I couldn't concentrate. I needed a distraction so bad to stop me from going to where Uzo was. My mind was clouded with thoughts of her and it was killing me gradually.

I stopped the game I was playing and decided to phone Peter. He picked up almost immediately. "Looks like someone missed me" I said smirking even though he couldn't see me.

"Yeah right" He said with sarcasm and I could imagine him roll his eyes which caused me to giggle. "What's funny?"

"Nothing bro. Absolutely nothing. I was wondering if I could hang at yours for a while". "I'm not home Timi, I'm out with my mum. Maybe some other time?"

I nodded even though he couldn't see me. "Alright" I finally said and hung up. Great! Now Peter is busy too. I thought as I walked out of my room.

I decided I was going to meet mum at her boutique so I went over to Mide's room to inform her that I would be leaving.

I got downstairs and drove straight to mum's boutique. I parked the car and walked into the exquisite building. As soon as I walked into the building, I felt the gazes boring into my back. I was used to it though. Most of mum's female workers and customers had their eyes on me. Ogling the sweet piece of cake called Timi.

Cocky much! My subconscious snapped and I found myself smiling. I made my way up the stairs to mum's office. I opened the mahogany door and walked in. Mum was seated in her chair twirling whilst making a phone call. As soon as her eyes met mine she gave me a small smile and gestured for me to sit.

I had my seat and looked around the room at the various artifacts at different positions.

"So what brings my baby here" I looked up and saw that mum was done with her phone call she was looking at me with a wide grin on her face.

"Mum can you stop calling me a baby, I'm almost an adult"
"It doesn't matter, you'll always be a baby to me just as I'll always be your mum"

I rolled my eyes "Yeah yeah"

"So what brings you here Jason?" She asked hands ticking gently on the table her gaze directed at me.

"I want to talk mum"

She straightened up in her chair. "Okay....go on"

"Well it's about Uzo"

A sinister smile found it's way to mum's face as soon as I mentioned Uzo's name. "You like her. Don't you?"

"Uh...yeah, how did you know?"

"Well I'm your mum and I do know. I just wanted you to admit it to me. I have known all along"

My jaw dropped. "How long have you known?"

"Let's say since we relocated to the states" She said with a shrug.

What?! I just said my jaw dropped moments ago right? Well my jaw literally fell to the ground.

Mum giggled at my expression. "Well, I walked into your art gallery way before your dad yunno...." She trailed off. "Burnt it" I helped her out.

"Well yeah, you did draw and paint her and I just knew you liked a girl. But then I got to know she was the one when we visited the Edogo's while you were still at school and I saw their family potrait. I wasn't so convinced then but as soon as I saw her at our anniversary I was more than convinced. I just don't understand why you two are acting cold towards each other"

I sighed. "Long story mum, can we not talk about it now?"
"Sure whenever you're ready baby. I few words for you though, whatever it is, you two should work things out. I had her come spend the holiday with us so you two can spend a lot of time together and catch up. Also because I like her. So I advice you to make the best out of it"

Heaven knows I like her a lot!

"Saying it is not enough son. Actions speak louder than words. Show her you care"

Did I say that out loud?

"Yes you did sweetie"
I turned to mum giving her a confused stare. "What are you? A magician?"

"Nope. I'm your mum" She said and twirled giggling. "You're such a child mum" I said watching her twirl in her seat repeatedly. "Watch what you say young man"

I chuckled and she stopped twirling. "Go for your girl son before someone else does"

"Er...she's not home now"

"Oh yeah, she told me about her outing with her friends"

"Should I go get her there?" I asked

Mum stared at me in bewilderment. "No!" She yelled making me wince at the sound. "Don't do that. Her friends will think you're a freak and some possessive maniac"

I nodded in understanding, smiled and got up. "Thanks mum" I said and gave her a hug. I made my way to the door to leave her office. "You owe me one Jace" She called and I yelled back. "Sure mom!"

I made my way downstairs and out of the boutique. The drive home was a slow one as I kept ruminating over the things mum just said to me. Maybe I'm just being childish. It's high time I fixed things between us. I thought.

I still couldn't believe that mum knew all this while and it was all part of her plan so Uzo and I could spend time together. I was thinking of possible ways of approaching Uzo even after I got home. I was in the living room downstairs when I slept off. I didn't realize I slept off until I heard that cheery voice that snapped me awake

                        "I'm home"

UZO'S POV

As soon as we went into the mall, I found out that Desmond came with a friend of his whose name is Zion. He seemed like a cool guy and we had so much fun.

We got ice cream and decided to sit down and have it. We were all chattering when Agatha's phone rang and a shy smile graced her face. She excused herself to take the call. I was trying to remember where else I had seen that smile but I couldn't place my hand on it.

I was still thinking when something struck me. I saw that smile on Mide's face when she was talking about Desmond. I widened my eyes in realization and excused myself from the table too. I walked over to where she was making the call and stood right behind her. She had no idea I was behind her. She chuckled and responded to something the speaker from the other side said. "Don't worry, I'll call you as soon as I get home. Bye!"

She turned back with a more confident smile and came face to face with my questioning eyes. "And who's making my Aggy baby smile so much?" I asked wiggling my brows teasingly.

"It was just a friend" She said looking down at her shoes. "Don't you dare lie to me"

"Okay, it's Peter but can we talk about this later? Maybe on WhatsApp"

I nodded with a smirk on my face and we returned to the table. I didn't forget to text Damola immediately.

Me:It seems like our Aggy baby has a crush

Dammy💞: I thought as much. We will so crucify her for not telling us.

In no time we had already had our ice creams and the girls were set to leave. They left with Zion who decided to drop them off at their houses and I left with Desmond. On the way home, he stopped by a jewelry store and got a package. I didn't bother to check what was in it so I just kept typing away on my phone.

In no time, he parked in front of the gate to the Adenuga mansion. I got down and thanked him. But as as was about to leave he called me back.

"Hey, I got Ayomide something. I'd love it if you deliver it for me"

"Sure" I nodded.

He handed me the package he got from the jewelry store. "Please send my regards to her. Tell her to get well soon. I would have done that myself but my really close friend needs me right now"

"Sure, it's fine Des. I'll send your regards"

"Thanks" and with that he drove off and I made my way into the building. I pushed the door open in excitement.
"I'm home!" I called from the entrance. I didn't even drop my purse or sit. I just made my way to the stairs but Mide was already coming down the stairs.

"You're back!" She squealed. "Yes and guess what we have here" I said swinging the package bag.

"The stuff you got obviously"

"Oh no sweetie, you're wrong. This here is a gift Desmond got for you"

"Shut up!" She yelled as she grabbed the package from my hands. I arched my brows at her. "I didn't mean it that way" She said with an apologetic smile. I nodded and she went on to open it.

There was a little note in it. It read:

Mide,

I heard you are a little bit down and that's the reason you couldn't come with us. I wish you quick recovery. Take Care of yourself and please accept the token I got you. I would have given you myself but I need to be somewhere urgently. My apologies.

                                      From Desmond.

A big smile graced her face as she opened the box. My eyes widened and so did hers when we saw the beautiful charm bracelet that sat in the box. "It's beautiful" She whispered and I nodded. "I'm definitely going to call him to thank him"

"Yeah, you should. He does seem to like you too" She flushed at the sound of that and I couldn't help but laugh at her.

"Hi kids!" I heard a cheery voice and our faces snapped to the door. Michelle walked in with a cute smile on her face. "You're welcome" Mide and I said in unison. We didn't notice she had returned because we were lost in our own world. Timi was still seated on the couch in the living room with a nervous look on his face and I wondered why.

I shrugged and turned back to Michelle who still had an unwavering smile on her face. "Uzo guess what"
"Uh....You got a new car?"

She chuckled. "No I didn't, I could use one though" She muttered she last part though to the hearing of all three of us. I shook my head mentally. You have seven cars in your compound and you want a new one. Oshey money speaking.

"Alright I'll tell you" She paused for a while. "Well my friend Omotara CEO of Tara beauty needs a model for the launch of her new skin and hair product. The girl she got quit because she wanted a raise so I suggested you"

I was beyond shocked. "Me? But she has never seen me before and my parents..."

"Sweetheart, I've taken care of that. Your parents have no problem with it and we checked your Instagram page. She's sure you're the perfect model for the job"

I couldn't contain my excitement as I hugged her and and Mide. Mide and Timi are the only ones here who know about my undying love for modeling and Mide didn't tell Michelle so it only meant Timi made this possible.

I walked over to where Timi was standing and hugged him. I felt his body stiff a bit but slowly he wrapped his hands around my waist. I wasn't sure how long we spent in each others arms but we sure did separate at the sound of a throaty sound. I looked down shyly and walked back to where Michelle stood. "Thanks a lot . I appreciate it" I pulled her into a hug once more.
