As you listen to the Rain pattering onto the windows outside, you sigh glumly, and flip another page in your book, continuing to read.

A knock on the wooden door of your quarters startles you, as you look up, double-checking the clock to ensure that yes, it is in fact, nearing midnight. Wondering who would realize you're awake, you go to open your door and now have to crane your head up to meet the gaze of one somewhat awkward-looking dragon.

"I heard you pacing," he explained, and you feel your face grow hot at the revelation that dragons do, in fact, have sensitive hearing and your floorboards are not exactly silent. "Ah," you respond awkwardly, and for a moment, it's just the two of you as you look down at your sock-clad feet. "Well, uhm, sorry if I woke you." you finally murmur, a hand coming up to clumsily scratch at your nape.

"It's no issue, I haven't been sleeping very well, regardless of your floorboards," Adamai reassures, a hand coming up to awkwardly rest on his opposite shoulder as he looks away from you. You turn your head to look at your quarters and decide that eh, why the hell not? "Uh, you could come in if you wanted to. I have some spare tea," you comment, stepping back as Adamaï silently makes his way into your Quarters, looking around as the fire crackles & pops within its stone fireplace. "It's very... homey, in here." He remarks, now quietly sitting at the island of your kitchen, as you shuffle across the hardwood floors, to fetch your kettle.

As you step across the furnished floors, they squeak slightly, a noise that still causes you to occasionally wince, as you go to grab your well-loved kettle from the cabinet, and the tea leaves from the cabinet next to it, setting the box onto the stone counter with a quiet thunk. As you shuffle over to your sink, Adamaï speaks up.

"Can I ask why you aren't Asleep, either? Usually, you're dozed off before the sun even fully sets." he now remarks, idly folding his arms and resting them on the stone counter. As you fill the kettle, you place it onto the stove with a click. "Dunno. Just couldn't get cozy." you shrug, pulling at the loose pants you wore for pajamas slightly, picking lint off them.

As the rain continues to pitter-patter on your balcony, you carefully push another piece of firewood into your wood stove as the flames lick at the coals. You now slowly walk around the island to sit beside Adamaï. The two of you say nothing for a moment, as you drink in the noise of rain mixing with the crackling of your woodstove and fireplace.

As the kettle slowly begins to whistle, you're quick to stand, placing it on the counter beside the stove, before now pulling out two simple cups from an upper cabinet, filling them with hot water, and adding a tea bag to each of the cups.

You silently place a cup on the counter in front of adamai, and it lands on the counter with a quiet clink. Adamaï takes the cup and slowly cups it in his talons. He now gently blows across the surface of it, sending ripples across the steeping tea.

You now carefully resume your seat beside him, and now sip your tea, internally wincing as you burn your tongue, but still swallow down the tea.

The two of you remain in awkward silence for a moment, before you gather your courage to speak up again. "So, The rain's nice, yeah?" you turn your neck to face him as he takes another slow sip of his tea, before speaking up. "Yes. it is nice," he comments, looking into his cup as he speaks, inhaling quietly before he lets out a sigh. "It's calming," he adds, his tone quieter.

Slowly, an idea slithers into your head, a trail of thoughts that gradually string itself together, as you take a bigger sip of your tea, you can't help but smile slightly into your cup. "You Know, I know a great place to get a good look at the rain." you start slowly, idly setting down your cup to trail a finger gently along the rim. "And I doubt anybody else would be up there at this time of night." you grin mischievously as adamai turns to you, raising a brow ridge. You pick back up your cup, downing the last of your tea from your cup, before carefully setting the cup down.

Adamaï quirks a ridged brow, turning to look at you curiously. "And.. where would this spot be?" He asks, now bringing his cup to his lips.

"That's for me to know, and for you to find out." you smile at him deviously.

After a moment, he relents, Chuckling to himself softly, his gaze softens as he looks away, raising the cup to his mouth.

"Well lead the way then." He drains his cup, setting it down with a quiet click on the table, before standing. You were quick to stand, speedwalking over to your door, before opening it as Adamaï walked past, and into the massive hallways of the sadida palace, his footsteps gentle on the wooden floors, as the click of your steps echoes, thanks to the arched ceiling, as the two of you sneak through the halls.

Adamaï struts confidently through the halls, his footsteps almost mute, while you have to creep on your tiptoes to avoid making a ruckus. As Adamaï looks over to you, he has to stifle a chuckle at your cartoonish creeping.

As you reach the stairs, a Massive spiral staircase, your pace grows a bit quicker, the hardwood floors beginning to squeak with your pace as you grasp onto the railing. As you feel a rush of wind, you see a rush of white and blue dart up, and See Adamaï idly leaning onto the railing, his wings flapping with bursts of air, as he hovers, casually leaning his forearms on the railing as he stays in the eye of the spiral.

You scoff, rolling your eyes as you chuckle "Showoff." you try and come off somewhat serious, but can't help the smile that creeps into your voice as Adamaï now hops the railing smoothly behind you, walking to your side on the stairs. "You love it." he jokes, smiling smugly as you snicker, playfully batting at his arm as the two of you begin to walk up the stairs, your steps causing the old wooden stairs to creak.

As the two of you walk up the many flights required, Adamaï grows curious. "Is it a balcony?" he asks, his voice quiet amidst the silence, the only noise being the steady pitter-patter of rain on every roof, every road, every leaf on every plant. "No. better." you finally respond as you get off the stairs, and now continue your creep through the hallways. Adamaï rolls his eyes but continues to walk alongside you as you take a moment to recall where that damn door is.

As you find it, you carefully turn the knob, as you swing the door open, a gust of rain-soaked wind brushes against your skin as the chill of night air brushes along your frame, sending goosebumps in its wake.

Your own personal Inglorium, a secluded part of the roof, stands before you. It's surprisingly flat, and the only thing on it are some hotboxes lining the rails. Puddles already forming and growing larger with every drop of cold rain. As you step out onto the flat space and into the rain, you turn to look at Adamaï, trying to gauge his reason from his stare.

As he follows you out, his eyes sparkle from the patches of stars visible and the occasional bolt of lightning that shoots across the sky like a serpent. Raindrops already are trailing down your frame, dripping off your fingertips and your chin as you let out a laugh, turning to breathe in the smell of rain, feeling like your lungs had been starved of this for so long.

You smile. "Good spot, right?" you joke loudly, shaking your head slightly as rain trails down your face. He lets out a wordless nod, a breathless chuckle leaving him, as his shoulders roll back, his eyes closing as he wordlessly inhales, before now nodding. "Good spot." he agrees.

As you walk further out into the rain, you give a slow turn, spreading your arms wide as you tilt your head back lazily, rain hitting your face as a shiver runs up your spine.

Adamaï walks out, his feet occasionally splashing in puddles as he joins you amidst the rain and winds, the crackle of thunder in the distance more of a comfort than a warning as you exhale, wordlessly turning to Adamaï with a bright Grin. he lets out a short laugh, turning away as he closes his eyes, shaking his head fondly.

"You are something,[Name]." He finally declared, His tail idly flicking in long, lazy motions as he crossed his arms. "You love it." You retorted, looking over your shoulder with a smug grin, as you now looked out across the railing, eyes gazing over the city of sadida, a thriving place filled with almost too much green.

You're so caught up in your sightseeing, that as you hear the noise of feet splashing quietly through puddles, it takes you a moment to tear your eyes away from your sightseeing, just in time to watch adamai Extend a talon, bowing slightly as he looks up at you, a small smile on his features as he now asked.

"May I have this dance?"

You blink. Once, then twice, then you're smiling so widely it almost hurts as you offer a hand, a talon much larger than your own carefully grasping it.

You're pulled gently into his embrace, as you begin to slowly step. It's clumsy, and once you nearly step on his foot, but it's refreshing. You laugh, awkwardly learning the steps of this less-than-graceful waltz, as the rain drips off your frame and the wind sends rain directly down the back of your neck.

Soon enough, you're shedding the stumbling steps, and you're taking bigger strides sideways, as Adamaï remains wordless, but keeps a firm, yet gentle grasp on your hand in one his own, like if he lets go, the two of you will catch aflame and streak into nothingness like stars.

It's Refreshing, shivering and yet laughing as you and Adamaï Host your own private Gala on this rooftop, the rain and wind being your only other attendees as the two of you dance in lazy, sweeping circles, his other talon placed firmly on the small of your back, pressing your soaked shirt you wore as a sleep shirt against your back as you two idly laugh, joke, and dance.

You've always loved the rain.
