Mallika P.O.V
"Riama are you sure you want to go through this alley?" Mallika questioned slightly scared. Walking past the mini stands that were ran by nice people who work hard to earn money, selling food, products and nice beverages. Seeing them working hard slightly please me.
"Yes Mallika, taking the alley is a shortcut to reaching home you know how I am of taking the long way!" Riama answered lazily. I simply shook my head smiling, looking at her innocence even at this age. We walked through the alley, what I saw was heart braking. So many innocent little children playing trying to forget their pain through games. They looked poor and wore torn or spare clothes, visible to see very few donated clothes and toys. Older people looked a lot homeless still carried a smile on their faces, forgetting their pain seeing their children play.
The little shelters they put effort in to make was daily falling apart perhaps by bad weather. "these people are living in such bad conditions, oh, my god please shower your mercy my Maula (another name for Islamic god)!" I prayed. Just then a young boy came up to me becoming a shadow in front of me I opened my eyes and let my arms dangle to my side. "can you please help me?" The boy asked of me. "I guess so, what's wrong child?" I stroked his left cheek.
"my Amma is sick and we don't have any money to pay for medicine or treatment by doctors!" He said telling me his problem. "oh, I'm sorry little one, such a dilemma, I think I can help you!" I took out my real gold earrings and took of my pink bangles with the golden design. I gave it all to the boy. "these earrings are pure gold and real pink diamonds I know that there is a good doctor that stays around this area, and this should be more than enough payment for your mothers treatment and medication also can be use for future reference, good clothes, food and water!" I explained generously. The boy smiled.
"this is more that I could ever asked for miss, thank you!" The boy ran off leaving a trail of the sound of clanging bangles. Now that I think about it that boy looked a little familiar. Riama watched this entire scene along with the many other people in the alley. They all carried smiles and confusion on their faces.
As I walked passed, towards Riama I heard many whispers. I hope they're not whispering anything bad about me. "come Riama lets go home!" The two girls walked home leaving the alley in surprise and with a warm feeling in the heart.
Radhe Radhe!
