AMYBELLA DIDN'T UNDERSTAND
anything, anymore.
"What do you mean there is no wedding?" She asked wrinkling her forehead.
Gilbert sighed, his head sinking.
"I blew it off."
Bella's jaw dropped to the floor. Her heart seemed to have stopped beating. She suddenly had this overwhelming urge to pinch herself, like Anne always described it.
"You did what?!" She asked, completely shocked.
"I told Winnifred that I can't marry her." The boy explained further. Gilbert sighed, his eyes looking tired now. He must have been through a lot, emotionally. He looked to his shoes, fidgeting nervously with his fingers.
"Why?" Bella asked and Gilbert's eyes met hers.
"Why? Because I couldn't marry anyone, if it wasn't you!" Gilbert said and Bella's heart dropped to her stomach.
She wanted to say something but no word could leave her mouth.
Gilbert and her just looked at each other for a while, until the blonde girl made a step forward.
For once in the past months, everything in her mind went finally blank. It was like Josephine described it. A thick fog, built itself up in her mind, leaving only one thought.
She loved Gilbert Blythe.
Putting a hand onto his cheek, she leaned up to him as their lips locked in a kiss, tenderly. It was gentle and shy. Gilbert slowly lifted his hand and softly placed it on her rips. Her weakly pushed her closer to him, their eyes closed. Bella then leant back, looking up to the boy.
"I love you too." She smiled, like she was totally drunk from the kiss.
"I mean because you said it in the letter I wanted to say it- I wasn't sure about how I felt about you but now I am. I know how I feel." He smiled at her hopefully.
"I'm glad." He said and they giggled.
Then he put his lips on hers again and Bella couldn't stop grinning.

"Anne!" Bella cheered, as the redhead ran towards hair.
"Bella!" The girl waved as they fell into each others embrace.
"Oh Anne, your dress looks marvelous!" Bella said and Anne laughed.
"But it could never top yours Bella! I'm so nervous, I think I'll faint before we even reach Queens!" The redhead said.
"Did you talk to Gilbert?" She then asked and Bella nodded. Anne's eyes went wide.
"And?" She asked, excited. Amy looked at her and then nodded confirming the girls thoughts. They both squeaked excited, until Marilla interrupted.
"My Goodness girls, if you want to reach Queens College before sundown, we have to go now!" The woman said and the girls went quiet, smirking at each other.
The ride to Queens college was awfully long, but Anne and Bella were able to talk a lot. Bella told her about everything that has happened in the last weeks and with Gilbert earlier.
"So are you gonna marry soon?" Anne asked, tilting her head.
"No! We both have to finish college first! A-and we're only 18!" She explained and Anne nodded.
"Well Rachel was married at 18 as far as I know! It's nothing unusual, but.. considering your wish for an education, I also think that this is the best way to go." Marilla said, looking back at them. She then put a hand on Bella's knee.
"I am incredibly impressed by you Amybella. How you fought through all these battles that were put into your way! You pushed right through!" She said, her grey eyes shining.
"I am sure that everything will be just fine!" She said nodding and Bella felt Tears burn in her eyes.
"Thank you Marilla!" She said and then spend the rest of the ride, thinking about everything that has happened in the past 3 years.
She couldn't believe that it's been 3 years actually. Time went by so fast and Bella was grateful for any minute of it.
She thought about her parents and how much she had grown since then. She really could be proud of herself, she thought.
After everything that has happened she actually did grow up in the end. She became an adult, a lady with honor and dignity. She fought her way through and she wouldn't stop now.
"You know what, Anne? We are rich." She said, hooking her hands around the girls Arm.
"We have so many years behind us and we have so many more to go. We should be as happy as queens." She said and Anne smiled happily.
"We are queens! Our intellect is our crown and our honor." The redhead said. Bella saw, Marilla and Matthew smiling at each other, and just knew in that exact moment, that she was home.

As soon as they got off the carriage and said goodbye to Marilla and Matthew, Anne and Amybella were pulled along by the other girls to the entrance to the housing of the queens college.
"Welcome scholars. I am Mrs. Blackmore. It is a great pleasure to welcome you to my home." A rather old woman said, smiling kindly. Beside her stood another woman that was rather quiet.
Amybella looked at the big house, where she is gonna live for the next months. She couldn't help but be quite proud of herself to have reached this point in her life.
She was going to college.
"I hope you will cherish this place as much as I do, and delight in your time here. Lily will assist you." She then said, nodding to the woman beside her.
"But please note that since she is a deaf mute, you will not be able to ring." The woman, Lilly started talking in sign language to them, which Bella found really fascinating.
"Hello and Welcome to Blackmore." Mrs. Blackmore translated.
Her and Anne shared a look.
"And yes, Lily can read lips! A prompt arrival at meals is expected and curfew is not a suggestion. I can see that serious students like yourselves would never dream of disappointing or breaking the rules."
Amybella smiled to herself.
"Now. Without further ado, would you please come in?" The girls started squirming excitedly and made their way up the stairs.
"No, no, don't run! Thank you." They stood before her, walking slowly past her.
"I think it's beautiful. Look how the sun shines in." Amybella said, when they reached their room and put all their luggage in.
Anne sat on her bed, deep in thought.
"A penny for your thoughts?" Bella asked and sat down beside her, to reach for her hand.
Anne pulled her hand away, standing up. She reached for the clasp of her necklace in her back, opening it and talking her and Diana's friendship necklace off.
"Have you talked to Diana?" Bella asked, feeling uncomfortable with Anne's quietness.
Anne was never quiet. Never. So when she was, Bella knew that something was bothering her heart heavily.
They suddenly hear the loud trembling of shoes in the old wood and giggling, before the door to their room was ripped open.
"Anne!"
"Amybella!"
"Oh it's so big!" They talked in a big chaos.
"Can we switch rooms, Bella? Can I be your roommate Anne?" Tilly asked, taking a cushion and sitting down.
"Sorry Tilly." Bella said, shrugging her shoulders.
"Mrs. Blackmore's face looks like it's been through a washing mangle!" Ruby said, laughing.
"Ruby!" Bella said, shocked but had to laugh too.
"Mang! I christen her Mang!" Jane said, raising a finger. They laughed.
"Have you girls seen these house rules?" Josie asked.
"Curfew at 9:00, lights out promptly at 10:00! Suitors may only be seen in the parlour on Saturdays between 2:00 and 4:00." They all looked at each other and giggled.
"Suitors?!"
"Uuuu Bella!" Tilly squealed.
"When's Gilbert visiting??" Jane said, raising her eyebrows.
"Right what happened with Gilbert and Mrs Rose?!" Josie asked, as they all walked towards her or leant forward.
Bella sighed.
"He ended his engagement with her." She then said and the girls screamed.
"Scandal!" Josie said and they all went quiet again.
"And are you..?" Jane asked.
Amybella nodded which caused them to scream again.
"Oh my goodness!"
"That is cute!"
They started singing and dancing around. Bella couldn't help but started laughing. She then saw Anne's face and worry filled her chest. Anne looked sad and Bella didn't n is what it was.

Dear Gilbert,
I hope your journey to Toronto went well and that you're now in your beloved college.
We just reached Blackmore, the residence where we will live, but we didn't stay that long. Anne got a letter from Marilla and Matthew because they received a letter about her family research. Unfortunately, the Church didn't have any further information about her parents and I think that was what had been bothering Anne so much. As her friend, I don't know how to comfort her about it and in the other hand I am incredibly grateful that I got to know my parents before they died and that I know where I came from.
But that wasn't the end of Anne's story. Matthew and Marilla then somehow made out an old friend of Anne's parents and now she has some sort of a flour book from her father, that was designed for her mother. I'm glad to see her so much happier and relieved now.
I miss you, Gilbert and college hasn't even started yet. It's hard to imagine us being separate for such a long time after everything that has happened. But I am determined that we will get through it!
I love you Gilbert
Your Amy.
Authors note:
Guess what, I decided to write an Act IV! Brand new and a bit adapted to the old Anne of Green Gables movies! Hope ur excited!
