[Chapter 2- Meet CEO Kim Namjoon]

Ara continued to stare at the walls of the elevator. She didn't dare step in.

"Miss Lee Ara? Is there a problem?" The suited man asked. He held the doors open with his palm.

"I can't use the elevator, I apologize," she bowed in respect to the man.

"Oh, well, we have a conference room down here. I'll get the papers and be right down," he suggested.

"Thank you," she smiled.

Ara never had gotten off so easily when suggesting not to take the elevator. She was thankful to the man. She shuddered as the doors if the elevator closed on him. She stood there, unsure of whether or not to wait there or in the lobby.

She stood there pondering, until the doors of the elevator opened back up. She stood there wide eyed.

"Good, you're still here," the man smiled.

"I wasn't su-" Ara was cut off abruptly.

"No need for explaining, it made it less work for me. Shall we go to the conference room now?" The man asked.

"That would be nice," she shook her head in agreement.

He led her through a small hallway and a room appeared at the very end. The room was spacious and had windows out looking the bustling street. Gangnam was definetly busy today. The intersection that was seen had cars packed waiting for the traffic lights.

She turned from the window to face the man who looked a little dazed while looking at her files. He shook his head and asked her to sit down.
She sat neck to him at the head of the desk where he was and was about to peek at the papers, but he cut her off once again.

"Okay, so the lab is two stories up, we could use the stairs of you'd like?" The man stated, though it sound like a question to Ara.

"I wouldn't want you to take the stairs though," Ara frowned.

"No, I need a little work out, the stairs would be fine. The elevator needs a little maintenance anyways. I can call the maintenance department too. The stairs would be convenient at this time," the man explained.

"If you say so," Ara said looking down. She bit her lip and tried thinking about about why he insisted on using the stairs for her.

"Let's go to reception to call maintenance then," the man smiled.

Ara was a little fascinated with his smile. His perfectly white, straight teeth, his dimples and how his lips seemed to rest unchanged, rather than disappearing like her own. His smile graced her eyes. She shook her head and looked away. She followed him to the reception station and saw a new receptionist seated.

"Assistant Kang Jinhee, could you phone maintenance about the elevator?" The man asked her.

"Of course, CEO Kim Namjoon," the receptionist bowed.

Ara was in a daze now. She was with the CEO the entire time. He knew her name too. Ara looked at how close they were and backed up a little to respect his space. She couldn't possibly let the CEO take the stairs. That was so disrespectful.

"Come, Miss Lee Ara," the man, well the CEO asked.

Ara, uncomfortably, followed the CEO to the stairwell. Her mind was boggled. The CEO was with her? She thought it would have been a regular supervisor like the email had said.

"Is there something on your mind Miss Lee Ara?" The CEO asked.

"No!" She shouted almost immediately then bit her tongue. "No, I mean."

"There clearly is something, what's wrong?" He asked.

"I didn't know you were the CEO," Ara mumbled.

"Hmm? What was that?" He asked in a mimicked mumble.

"I didnt know you were the CEO, the email said it would have been a supervisor. I wasn't expecting this," she spoke a little louder.

"I'm sorry, I should have clarified the privileges beta testers get when I emailed you. Would you like for me to explain them to you while you're getting the print and swab test?" He asked.

"That's okay," Ara said biting the inside of her cheek.

"Good," the CEO said. The rest of the climb was silent.

A couple flights of stairs later, Ara was feeling fine, unlike the man before her. He was panting and out of breath.

Ara hung her head down in shame. She felt the one to blame. She was so used to stairs; she knew how exhausting it was for others to climb stairs.

"I'm sorry, sir," Ara felt obligated to apologize even if she had done nothing wrong.

"Oh please, I greatly needed that. I'm always cooped up in my office," the CEO said between gasps of air.

"Okay," Ara frowned.

Ara followed the CEO down a hall that was filled with mirrors; though, she had a feeling that they were just one sided windows, or whatever they were called. He led her to a good and he scanned his badge and the door opened with a click. Ara followed him inside. Behold, was a beautiful lab filled with all kinds sciencey instruments.

There were a couple people on computers, probably filling in notes, and others running lab tests. Ara was very intrigued by all of the above. She wished she had been capable of doing such work. Any worl really. She especially wanted to be apart of a lab like this. Until she could get off of disability, she was stuck.

"Facinating, isn't it?" The CEO admired.

"It really is, I have a degree in biochemical engineering and software engineering, but I can't work," she sighed.

"Why can't you work?" The CEO asked out of pure curiosity.

Ara stilled. Silence over came them.

The CEO shook his head. "I apologize, that was very rude of me."

"No, it's not rude. I just don't like to talk about it," Ara released a shaky breath.

"CEO Kim Namjoon!" Someone yelled. Ara turned to see a man with dark hair and plump lips, like Jimin, yet they still weren't as pillowy. He was other-worldly; ethereal. She clicked her tongue in annoyance at all of the beautiful people that were apart of the Project Building. They were all so damn beautiful in her eyes.

"Oh is the CEO here?" Ara heard a soft voice ask. Like the branches of a willow tree, Ara saw a woman at the back sway to the side of a machine and gracefully turn only to meet Ara's eyes. Her eyes were hazel and she was long softly colored brunette hair. She still had the features of a Korean, but her eyes and hair told Ara that she may have had a foreign parent. Possibly even a grandparent.

"Hello Seokjin, hello Chunhei," the CEO bowed in respect. "Ara, this is Kim Seokjin and Oh Chunhei. They will be working with us for the lab tests." Namjoon continued to lean into Ara and whispered,"They are married by the way. They are a fantastic couple."

Ara only nodded. She never expected to be in such a close presence to the CEO of company at this time and age.

"Ara is such a lovely name," Seokjin flashed a dazzling smile to Ara.

"Thank you," Ara said. She felt her cheeks flame up in embarrassment from the kind gesture.

"I can fix that scar on you neck, I feel that it pains you," Chunhei spoke up. Ara cocked her head at her. Ara had been hiding that for awhile.

"Hey! Chunhei, don't be mean!" Seokjin yelled at his wife.

"Oh no, she's fine with it, her reaction was good," Chunhei lightly giggled. "Didn't you notice?"

Ara felt a deep connection with Chunhei that she couldn't understand. Someon ewho read Ara like and open book was something common, but never like this.

"Could you really?" Ara asked.

"She can do anything she thinks she can," The CEO said.

"Of course," Chunhei walked over to Ara. She was quiet tall. Maybe 5'8". She carefully clasped into her arm and brought her over to a station. Where some chemicals were. It smelled vibrant. Ara really did miss the lab.

"Ara," Chunhei whispered in Ara's ear, "I can tell who your soulmate is by a mile away. I'm the magic, but don't think of Joonie as the CEO. Think of him as your friend. He's quite lovely and your lack of response makes him feel awkward. Open up a bit."

Chunhei leaned back leaving an inner turmoil boil through Ara's head. Chunhei began to speak about the different chemicals and did a couple tests on Ara. She figured out her blood type, her DNA sequence and other things. She finally figured out a formula that would turn Ara's scar tissue back into regular skin. She dabbed at the scar a little, and when it was covered, it hurt like a bitch.

"Oh my god!" Ara yelled. "Why does it hurt so much?"

"Of course it's going to hurt. Its science, not magic. Right now its dissolving the scar and it will be open again but it will heal back as regular skin tissue," Chunhei laughed.

"Gosh," Ara mumbled in pain.

"So, the finger print now? Since we have her DNA test and blood type?" The CEO asked.

Chunhei lead me over to Seokjin, who was doing the final preparations for the print. We quickly did so, and they sent the data to my phone.
