04 - Good Night

Chicken meatballs, French fries and mash potatoes. One word to describe it all: 'HEAVEN'!

I ate another chicken meatball and 3 French fries at once. "I see that you're hungry!" Someone said, which diverted me from eating. I looked at the source of the voice only to find that it was Thomas, who was sitting next to me.

Great Ellie! You've done it now. He probably thinks you're a fat pig eating like an animal! Stuffing your self with food! I thought.

"Oh umm... I was just... I get hungry sometimes. Like really hungry! I don't eat much usually... sorry," I said, ashamed. "What? Don't be sorry! I love food. It doesn't look like it, me being lean and all but I love it. You can never get enough of food!" Thomas cheerfully said. I smiled at him. It didn't feel as if we had met for the first time 3 hours ago. We were talking to each other as if we've been friends for like, forever!

I was starting to like the atmosphere. We were sitting at a round table with 10 other people. Everyone was so kind, asking about me, complementing me. It made me feel nice inside, like I never want this moment to end.

Everyone laughed and finished up there plates of food. I even finished a cup of coffee while some of the other cast were sharing embarrassing moments that had happened on set.

"Hey guys! How was dinner? I hope it was good," a man's voice came from behind me. I turned around to see that it was James. "Listen. Umm... they're wrapping up all the tables and chairs and the food stuff so I was thinking we should head to the hotel and relax! What do you guys think?"

There were a lot of 'ya' and nods which said that everyone agreed. I was getting tired, not that I have done much but... you know.

We all got up from our seats and James led the way to well... wherever he was leading us.

He brought us to a street, the same street where the taxi had dropped me off when I arrived at the set. There was a crowd of people talking and waiting for the next instruction.

Just then, 2 buses drove up the driveway, waiting to be filled by people. James had told us that some of the cast and crew had already went due to the large amount of people. There were about 40-50 people left here.

"Okay everyone. Listen up! The buses are here and so, we can now get ready to leave. Please take all your belongings and anything else you need with you. Don't leave it here because I guarantee that it will not be here when we tomorrow! Anyways, let's get on the buses!" James announced.

Everyone rushed to the buses and lined up at the door. All of us entered in pairs and took our seats. Thomas and I sat in bus number 2 and our seat was somewhere in the middle. He let me sit next to the window. I love the window seat because I can see everything that passes by.

James had sat on our bus, right at the front next to the driver. The driver pushed the pedal and off we went, on our way to the hotel. To our home... for 3 months!

At the hotel
******************

The bus ride was actually quite fun. From time to time I would look out the window to see where we were headed and what was going on outside. Thomas and I were playing a game where one person has to think of a person/animal/place etc. and the other has to guess what it is by asking questions. I won 6 times and he won 3. We both mostly thought of celebrities. I know more than him on that, obviously! I'm a fangirl myself!

We had reached the hotel and the bus came to a halt right outside the entrance. I couldn't keep my excitement inside and hoped that it didn't show on my face!

Slowly, everyone departed from the bus. I thanked the driver before I got off, just to be kind. I was just about to freak out about my suitcase when I realised that James informed that everyone's luggage was already transported to their respected rooms. How convinient!

I gazed upon the tall structure infront of me which had about 10 floors. It was glamorous! The building was illuminated with lights which made it look attractive and it had a big heading on top of the door: 'Corinthia Hotel London'. It was one of the very famous ones here. It was located in a less occupied place so that everyone can have some privacy with no fans gathering early in the morning at your doorstep!

"Wow! He's got us all a nice place to stay. Isn't this hotel expensive, like £500 per night?" I asked Thomas, who was indulged by the buildings outer beauty. "Directors usually get discounts at hotels because there are a lot of people staying and well... They are famous!" Thomas replied. At that moment James walked out from the building, with a big smile stretched across his face. "Good news people! We're in! Let's get going now."

Everyone started proceeding to the door and Thomas and I tagged along at the end. "You seem really excited. Not used to staying like this?" Thomas asked. "No actually. I don't usually stay in hotels when filming... Even normally. This is something new for me!" I answered cheerfully.

When I entered, I was taken by the beauty and serenity of the hotel. Floors so spotless, you could see your reflection in it. Perfectly structured walls with designs carved into them. The furniture in the lounge was exquisite. Not to royal and not to modern. But the thing I loved most was the enormous fish tank, inhabited by marine life of different colours and size.

"Now everyone. The others who had arrived before have been sorted out already and are enjoying time in their rooms... hopefully!" James announced, "I will be informing you about who you'll be sharing a room with. If you are uncomfortable with the sorting for whatever the reason, you can always talk to me!"

"Now to business. I'll be calling out the cast first. Thomas, you'll be staying with Ellie. Is that okay?" James questioned. Thomas nodded with a smile. I too nodded at James. "Great! Here's your key card. Mark will help you in finding you room. I'll call out a few other groups and you can all go together!" James sorted all the cast out and then we were led by Mark to our rooms.

Our room was on the the 5th floor. It was flat 516 (A/N See wat I did there!?). I was so excited, hopefully I won't get disappointed!

"And here is your room, Thomas and Ellie!" Mark called out. We both stepped forward so that we were right in front of the crowd of people. "That's your room. Flat 516. You have your key card right?" Thomas nodded. "Well, enjoy! Oh wait! Just try it now and see if it works properly," Mark suggested.

Thomas walked up to the door and swiped the card in the slot. A green light came on and a small buzz sound indicated that the card was working. "It seems to be working! Anyways, enjoy and if there is anything you need don't hesitate to ask me or anyone else," Mark said. Me and Thomas thanked him and walked inside the room.

I was lost in my tracks by the appearance. It was perfect! Just perfect! As you enter the flat, there are two hallways to you right and left. In the right hallway, there's the kitchen and at the end there is a type of laundry and storage room. In the left hallway, there are cupboards, built into the walls and at the end is the bathroom. When you walk a little further, into the main room, there is a table of four on your left and just a little further is where the main stuff begins. There are two single beds with a side table each. They're separated by a foldable divider about 7 feet high. In front of the beds is a sofa and a coffee table. It's facing an LED TV which is set in a bookshelf with books, movies and music surrounding it!

The shelf where the TV was I think by far the most attractive thing to me. It had all kinds of movies and TV shows, books of different genres and even a music player surrounded by loads of CDS.

I took a deep breath to try to suck it all in, that I actually am staying in a wonderful hotel and that too with Thomas Sangster!

After settling down
**********************

I had changed my clothes and was wearing one of my favorite and most comfy pajamas. A shirt and a 3 quarter pant. Both purple (my favorite!) in colour.

Thomas was wearing a white shirt and a check pajama. He had gone to make some coffee for the both of us and I was left bored, sitting on the sofa. Well, maybe not bored. I was watching TV to see what channels were there.

"Here you go! I hope it's fine. You take sugar right? I just put one teaspoon," This was Thomas. He gave me the cup and I took a sip. It was super hot but it felt really good and tasted great, surprisingly! "It's really nice! Thank you," I said and smiled at him.

He sat on the sofa next to me and we both watched TV. I surfed all the channels and nothing good was on! Well...

"Do you want to go through the script? I mean, if you're not feeling tired or sleepy. We can get a head start," Thomas asked. I took another sip of my coffee and looked at the clock, hanging on the wall across. It was 9:15.

Hmm... I'm not sleepy. I don't want to stop being with Thomas just for sleep! Might as well read through! I thought.

"Yeah okay! Let's read and see what this movie is about," I replied. Come to think of it, I didn't know a single thing about the movie and I happily agreed to do it! Well, one reason is that Thomas is there and that he'll be acting side by side with me. Plus I wasn't busy or anything.

The scripts were still kept in there envelopes, untouched. They lay on the coffee table and I reached out to get them. Thomas got up and brought a chair from the dining table and placed it next to the coffee table. We were facing each other now.

I gave Thomas his script and then carefully started to tear open my envelope. I looked inside to find a thick block of papers, stapled together. I removed them from the envelope and Thomas removed his block of papers. There was a light blue coloured paper on top of my stack of papers. I looked over to Thomas' pile but he only had the script.

"What's that you've got there?"Thomas asked. I looked at the blue page in detail this time and came to a conclusion. "I think it's what the movie is about. Remember James had said that he had written up a summary of the movie for us to read. I think it's that," I replied.

I started reading what was written out loud so that Thomas could hear what it said:

Dear Ellie,
I know I haven't given you a lot of information about this project. Well, I haven't given you ANY information and I just want to say that I apologise. I am not used to working this way with a successful cast and on a large scale, this being a movie. I have only done commercials or short videos and music videos. This is a big thing for me. But there should be no excuses from my side. Thank you so much for being part of this film and say thanks to Thomas as well!

Anyways, the movie is staring you as a young 24 year old women called Serah Jones, who is in search for job opportunities here in London. She wants to do something in the media field and so ends up getting hired as a reporter for a national newspaper 'The London Source'. She is skilled at writing and drawing and knows how to sing and plays a few instruments.

At her workplace she meets one of the more experienced, head editor of the newspaper Charlie Brown (that's Thomas!). He gives her a tour and tells her some tips about the place and basically they get on really well.

By the way, the movie is a romantic-comedy so you know, you and Thomas will be quite close! The movie is basically how they end up being together and what all they have to go through. It may sound a bit dry and boring but trust me, you will absolutely love the script! You and Thomas will get a better idea once shooting starts about how your character's personality is like and how to portray them.

I suggest that you should read the whole script and if you have any confusion please don't hesitate to ask me! We will be having a whole cast run through in a few days time, but till then just read through.

Well I hope this was a little informative and helpful and once again thank you for being part of this movie. I am truly honoured!

Cheers,
James Daniels.

"Well... that was informative! Thomas said, "At least now we know what the movie is about!" I thought for a while, trying to capture everything the paper had written on it.

A romantic-comedy? This is good and not good. I get to do all the lovey stuff with Thomas but I've never done something like that before... what if I screw up everything? I thought.

"Umm... you okay? You look a bit preoccupied," Thomas asked. "Yeah, yeah. I'm fine. Just... thinking about the film and stuff," I replied. "Okay, well let's move to the script now. I want to do at least half of it!" Thomas said with a goofy grin. I chuckled at his cuteness. I looked back down at the stack of papers in my lap.

The first page said:
"Pursuit of Happiness"
DIRECTED BY JAMES DANIELS
!THE SCRIPT!

I turned the page and on there was a list of the whole cast and some of the main crew. I turned over a few more pages and then the script began.

**************************
2 and a half hours later
**************************

"That was fun!" I said, full of energy.

Me and Thomas had a blast reading the script out. We laughed and made jokes and had an awesome time. The script's quite good! I'm so excited! The next thing we have to do is start memorising the lines. I am quite good at it. It's never been any trouble for me. I looked at the clock and it was 11:30.

Wow! We were reading for about 3 hours? Didn't feel like it! Time surely flies when you have fun. I thought.

"*Yawn* I think I am going to sleep now, if you don't mind," I told Thomas. "Yeah sure! That's a good idea. It's almost 12:00 AM so, yeah. I'm going to sleep too!" Thomas agreed and got up from his seat. I got up as well and went to get a last glass of water.

I came out of the kitchen and the whole room was dimly lit, with the two side table lamps on. It made everything very cosy and a slight bit romantic.

I got into bed and snuggled up into the blankets. Thomas got into his bed as well, after he finished fiddling with his phone. I had connected my phone charger to the socket already and I placed my phone on the side table to recharge.

"Good night Ellie! See you tomorrow," Thomas said, in a caring tone. "Good night Thomas! Sleep tight... don't let the bed bugs bite!" I told him. I heard him chuckle and I couldn't resist smiling.

He shut his light off and with a final look at the room, I shut mine off as well.

Life is perfect right now. I want it to be like this forever!
