DAYS PRIOR TO CONCERT. . .

the ATLANTIS practice room was empty as the five girls were out and about, wandering the LME building in search for something. they had split into two groups: REINA and SUQI, and HIRA, SOHEE, and RIWON.

"I don't even know what we're looking for." HIRA sighed as she moved a box from the table in the artist lounge on the second floor. she really had no clue what the girls were in search for, she simply only joined in because she didn't want to be alone in the practice room.

"we're looking for SUQI's earrings," RIWON answered, glancing over the tables. "she apparently 'needs them to practice' but I'm starting to think she just wants to skip practice."

SOHEE and HIRA looked at each other, their eyes telling all that needed to be told between them. they continued their search, finding nothing but crumbs (literally) in the lounge so eventually headed back up to the third floor where their practice room was.

SUQI sighed out of frustration after closing a drawer that was empty. she had been looking for these earrings for over an hour and even with help, couldn't find them anywhere. REINA had silently put a box back where she had found it, not wanting to disturb SUQI who had been in a less-than-pleasant mood all morning.

"I could have sworn I left them here!"

REINA paused and thought back to when they were getting ready to leave their dorm for practice. she herself could've sworn she saw them on SUQI's dresser before she left the room. SUQI had left before her, so she thought nothing of the earrings being left behind.

"I hate to burst your bubble, SUQI, but I think you left them on your dresser," REINA spoke up after seeing SUQI with her head on her hands. "I saw them as I was leaving your room after grabbing the scarf you borrowed from me."

SUQI lifted her head and let out a heavy sigh. if that was true, she had made a big deal over nothing and it made her feel like crap.

"let's just head back to the practice room." SUQI grabbed REINA's wrist and dragged them both to the elevator before eventually arriving back at their practice room, SOHEE, RIWON, and HIRA already back. as they opened the door, RIWON lowered the music that was playing and walked toward them.

"any luck?" RIWON asked, already expecting the answer of 'no.'

"she left them at the dorm." REINA replied, seeing as SUQI's head hung low in embarrassment.

"oh," RIWON nodded her head. "well that's okay. can't say we didn't try and look for them!"

the girls all felt bad seeing SUQI look so down, so they all gave her a hug in an attempt to make her feel better. it worked, as SUQI eventually raised her head and smiled, accepting and hugging the girls back.

"now let's practice IMPURITIES..."

HEX had just finished pre-recording their comeback stage for MAISON from their first album 'HOUSE OF CHAOS.' the girls gathered backstage, as it was time to wait for the top song of the week.

"we're in the top five unnie... what if?" ENYA clung to RAINE's side as they awaited the final announcement. all of the girls were anxious as they had not received a win for their last two albums but were constantly nominated. they hoped that this time they'd win, but most of them were not expecting much.

"I wouldn't get too excited... oh look! it's starting!" ROCHELLE tried to speak up before the monitor in front of them began the countdown for the top song on show champ that week.

the seven girls held each other's hands as they watched the counter go down from 3 seconds to 1... and before they knew it MAISON was playing from the speakers. they had finally done it. HEX had finally won first place on a music show.

attempting not to cry right then and there, the girls slowly walked into the stage and accepted the award given to them by the MCs. RAINE had taken the microphone first, the tears welling up in her eyes.

"oh..." RAINE tried to speak, however, every time she opened her mouth to let words out, she couldn't. eventually, she calmed down enough to thank the CEO's, their manager, and all of the staff that help and have helped them get to where they were at that moment.

"how will we sing live?" ROCHELLE laughed, covering her mouth as she watched her members either cry or just continue to stand in shock.

when the music played for their encore stage they all groaned, not ready to hear their own voice cracks and cutting off of lines due to crying. they started alright, before ESTHER attempted her lines but couldn't finish them as she ended up sobbing and crouching down, head on her knees. she let out a soft "I'm sorry" before standing up and continuing on, tears streaming down her face.

they continued their encore, with a few more mishaps but overall nothing damaging. in the back before the song ended, RAINE was seen jumping into a hug to give to ENYA, who was arguably crying the hardest out of all of them. when the song finished, they all huddled together into a group hug before doing their cheer and exiting the stage, continuously thanking their fans.

in their waiting room stood members of CRYPTIC, WISTERIA, and SKYWAY, as well as trainee MILENA. they had watched the show live and instantly needed to buy a cake and surprise the girls before they all went back to the company.

the lights were off in the room, everyone listening to the soft cries and comforting words of the HEX members before the door opened. when it did, the lights instantly turned on and CRYPTIC, SKYWAY, WISTERIA, and MILENA all cheered and yelled congratulations to the girls of HEX, earning them more cries and sobs.

"you guys didn't have to come here..." ENYA cried as she held her face in her hands and continued to cry a lot more than she had earlier.

"how could we not? this is a monumental thing in your career!" JAYCE commented, opening his arms for a light hearted hug between himself and ENYA. "it would be rude of us to not physically celebrate your guys' first win." he added on, laughing at the reaction of ENYA.

"thank you guys," RAINE smiled, taking the cake from JASON and admiring it before setting it down and turning to face MILENA. "and thank you for showing up as well. I didn't think a trainee would take time out of their schedule to show up here."

"I had to!" MILENA exclaimed. "like he said, it would be rude of me to not show up and congratulate you in person."

RAINE shook her head and have MILENA a hug before they all sat down and let the sobbing members of HEX calm down before cutting and sharing the cake, sharing even more memories of the day HEX earned their first win...

"I TOLD YOU TO NOT DO THAT." a voice could be heard yelling from inside SKYWAY's dorm. a voice that seemed all too familiar.

"you never said anything of the sort. this was you!" JAYCE responded to JISU's claim, refuting it.

"nuh uh, we are not going there," JISU responded, shaking his head. "I watched you not take it out of the metal container even after I told you to do so."

"maybe someone framed me. ever thought about that?"

JISU clenched his fists and took a deep breath in and out before looking straight at JAYCE. he calmly took steps forward and walked toward him, smiling.

"now, JAYCE, who would frame you when both KAEDE and ELI were backing me up on this." JISU spoke, pointing to their respective bedrooms where they were laying down minding their own business.

JAYCE looked around quickly in an attempt to find a cover story for himself and then remembered that JISU hadn't mentioned one other person.

"SIAN. it was SIAN. yep," he laughed awkwardly. "it was definitely him. he framed me."

suddenly, SIAN exited his room and yawned. "oh. speak of the devil." JAYCE coughed and tried his best to look anywhere but at SIAN. said boy raised his eyebrow and looked at JISU for clarification.

"he's trying to say that-"

"NO. NOTHING HAPPENED." JAYCE cut JISU off by covering his mouth and smiling at SIAN who just gave them a confused look before shaking his head and going to grab food when he noticed the broken microwave.

"...who broke the microwave?"

"JAYCE." JISU, KAEDE, and ELI all yelled in unison even if the other two were in their rooms. JAYCE, unable to avoid it any longer, sighed in defeat and nodded his head. he quickly turned to JISU and gave him a cheeky smile, "if I got you ice cream would you forget this ever happened?"

A WEEK BEFORE THE CONCERT. . .

CRYPTIC had gathered in their practice room to go over the choreography for songs they hadn't performed in a little over a year. as the members were stretching waiting for the dance instructor, a sudden yell was heard from inside.

"OW!" ASHTON held his head and in pain, turned around to see YAZHU and ASH smiling cheekily. he noted the golden pot in YAZHU's hand and stared at him. "what the hell guys?"

"listen, the urge to hit somebody with this was too strong." ASH clarified as he grabbed the pot and raised it above his head as though he were about to strike again.

"and I was your target? what happened to sacrificing MARCUS?"

MARCUS overheard the question and walked over, standing next to YAZHU. as though they used telepathy, ASH handed MARCUS the golden pot and was about to smack ASHTON again when the door opened and the dance instructor waltzed in and set his things on the floor next to their couch.

the instructor turned his gaze to the four boys in the corner of the room and blinked, "what did I interrupt?"

ASHTON was quick to escape and yell, "THEY WERE HITTING ME WITH THAT GOLDEN POT!"

"what golden pot?" MARCUS replied, defending himself as he nonchalantly tossed the pot to the floor making a loud crashing noise.

even the instructor was confused at the change in targeting between the members of CRYPTIC. if it wasn't JASON it was usually MARCUS. because of this sudden change, the instructor made sure to have the four of them warm up separately as to ensure they wouldn't attack ASHTON. after they warmed up and ran through the choreography for TEARS OF CHAOS, they were given a ten minute break.

"I can't believe your weapon was a golden pot," MINJAE sighed. "...I would've gone for something a lot more painful."

ASHTON stood there, betrayed, before the instructor asked for them to return to their positions.

the rest of their practice left ASHTON a paranoid mess until the three of them (MARCUS, ASH, and YAZHU) bought him one of his favourite drinks after their session had ended...

during SKYWAY's performances, most members of WISTERIA were cheering and singing along, however, SEREIN had other plans. although paying attention to the performances, any break between them she would be making animal shadows using her hands. it got to the point where she had made dog ears and placed her hands above ALVARO's head for fun. ALVARO was clueless until KORI noticed and laughed before pointing it out to him.

SEREIN was also not afraid to have a full on discussion with FAYE about the idea of furries and fursuits. they whispered to one another for well over thirty minutes before stopping because they realized that the other four girls were staring at them in pure confusion and possibly concern.

meanwhile, the trainees also had their own little seating area and in that section YERIM had been trying to point out a camera that seemingly was facing her and SEORYOUNG, however, she failed. that was because the camera she was pointing to was looking directly as the trainees behind them, CHRISTIAN and LUCA.

fully embarrassed she hid and instead began dancing to the songs CRYPTIC were performing and was later seen screaming her head off to their songs as well as the first two performances of WISTERIA. needless to say, after the concert it would not doubt go viral...

the STARGAZER boys had just entered their practice room and were preparing to warm up when the door suddenly opened. it revealed REINA with two cup holders with STARGAZER's favourite drinks.

"I thought I'd treat you boys to your favourite drinks today seeing as you've been working hard for our upcoming concert." REINA smiled as she walked further into the room and set down the drinks on the table next to their couch. she felt a certain pair of eyes burning into her soul, "and before you ask, yes, I got you boba, KEUN. I didn't trick you this time even though I really wanted to."

STARGAZER laughed at the reply before each member sorted out what drink was theirs and eventually getting back to warming up. REINA sat at the back, watching peacefully when the door opened once again. this time, it was a train of boys each poking their head through the door. in order, the boys were as followed: YEJOON, TAEHYUNG, NICCOLÒ, MINKYU, and JUYEON.

"can we watch your guys' rehearsal?" NICCOLÒ asked, silently praying the members would say yes. however, they were also ready to be rejected.

SEONG and HYUN looked at one another and made a unanimous decision using just their eyes.

HYUN smiled, "sure! we already have one person watching so I don't think we'd mind if more joined in."

the trainees spotted REINA seated at the back and so she waved her hand as a hello. after getting the okay all five of them walked in and bowed before finding a spot on the couch and the floor. and with that, the audience was complete.

STARGAZER rehearsed for about an hour before taking a break. KEUN and REINA were having a conversation amongst themselves in the corner and the five trainees were conversing with the STARGAZER members asking for tips and tricks as well as complimenting their work ethic and performance skills.

eventually their break was over and STARGAZER went immediately back to rehearsing, getting ready for the concert...

members of CRYPTIC, HEX, STARGAZER, and WISTERIA had all be called to the company for a meeting. they were to meet together once again and form the now famous lineups called ENHYPEN and AESPA. after the collaboration on THE LAST MELODY album, fans have been asking for more. and so, LME decided they would deliver.

the members of each lineup sat down in the meeting room and eventually AHN HOYEON walked in and sat down. the air wasn't necessarily tense as they've worked together before and they kind of expected what this meeting would be about, but they were still curious as to what would be asked of them.

"so, as I'm sure you guys are aware, fans love the two lineups we created for the collaboration album." HOYEON began, making sure to watch the reactions of the idols in front of her. she continued, "and we would like you guys to perform together once again for the new years special concert."

the reception was good as the members were excited to be working with one another again. they were told that the songs had already been made and all that was left was to record, which they would start the same day, and learn choreography which would start the next day.

the chorus of ENHYPEN line's new song was playing before it was faded out by SEONG. they had gathered in a circle and sat down, waiting for ASHTON. when he had finally arrived they cheered as he had been the one to go out and purchase them food for their break.

the girls' practice room was filled with laughter and jokes as they attempted to get through the choreography. they were seen practicing the choreography but every time someone would move a joke would be made and they would have to stop to calm down before continuing.

it was a lot more hectic than when they were preparing DREAMS COME TRUE but they honestly did not mind. the more fun they had, the more it showed when they performed together on stage.

"okay, we need to stop with the jokes." AMÉLIE let out in between breaths as she was laughing prior to speaking.

"I agree. but jeez are you guys funny." ROCHELLE replied, huffing and putting her hands on her waist.

after calming down, the girls put on their serious practice mode and eventually got through all of the choreography. they would touch up more on the days leading up to the concert...

AHN HOYEON had called up six boys from the trainee class to her meeting room. once all inside, she informed them of the plan to debut them sometime after the new year. smiling at the excited faces of the boys, she sent them off for them to head to practice and eventually tell them the plans of debut album and overall promotions.

they were told their group name was [ REDACTED ] and the meaning of it was simple. they were boys who needed to break free from the system that holds them captive. they nodded in understanding and began their practice, which is what they would be performing at the new years special concert at the end of the year leading up into 2023. they worked hard, and now that stand on that main stage...
