A/N: sorry I'm late but we're back in schedule now! Lost a fight with some stairs so I had to take a day or two to get better. Hope you enjoy! ✨
"Do you need anything, sweetheart?"
Katsuki tears his attention away from the book in his lap to look up at Fumikage from where he's seated among a pile of bean bag chairs and offer him a tiny smile and a shake of his head. Fumikage returns it in kind, reaching down to lightly ruffle Katsuki's hair with black painted fingernails. "Alright, well, if you do, you know where to find me. Please don't wander off without telling me; the library is fairly grande and I wouldn't want you to get lost." He says before he turns on his heels and saunters off to go back to his desk. He'd volunteered to look after Katsuki today while the others were in class, after all.
The beta had been more than happy to bring Katsuki to work with him for the day. After all, the library is one of his favorite places to be; he seems to be content with getting his fill of knowledge and reading anything he could reach on the shelves. He's reading a book about heat and mating cycles right now at the suggestion of Shouto so that he'd be a bit more prepared when his own came. It had been a little over a month since he'd come off of those excruciatingly painful meds so it was only a matter of time before he'd experience his first heat. Best to be as prepared as he could be, especially since he was expected to spend it alone. Shouto had offered to take him to get some supplies later in the week. Katsuki is nervous, but a part of him is incredibly relieved to finally be what others could consider normal.
As normal as he could be, anyway.
He finishes his book within the hour and decides to put it back to get another---maybe he'll find something with pictures. He'd like to find a book about spiders as well; he's rather curious as to what kind of spiders Ilo and Milo are. He goes back to visit them every day. He's happy that they haven't left him yet but he assumes that they'd like to leave some day to go somewhere better.
Just like Basil did.
He's been considering asking Toshinori to take him to visit Tomura again...but this time he would like to go alone. It's a long shot---Touya would most certainly object---but Katsuki feels as though he hadn't gotten the answers that he should have. There's something that Tomura isn't telling him and while Tomura has done some horrible things, Katsuki has a feeling that things are not what they appear to be on the surface. Tomura was definitely afraid. Katsuki just doesn't know why.
Or of what.
"Perhaps I am better off not knowing." He muses aloud to himself as he turns on a random aisle and begins to look through the books there. He'd found several books on omega biology somewhere around this section but these books are a bit different---more focused on childbirth and parenting. He doesn't plan to have children anytime soon; he can barely look after himself, but he's a little curious to learn about conception between a female alpha and a male omega so he thumbs through them to see what he can find. He's much too short to reach the ones on the higher shelves, even with the help of the step ladder that he's found at the end of the next shelf over. It's a little frustrating since he'd had to struggle quite a bit to drag it there.
"You need some help, sweetie?"
The sudden break in silence startles Katsuki and he stumbles backwards with a yelp, squeezing his eyes shut with the assumption that he's destined to make friends with the floor in the most unpleasant way but it would seem that his unsuspected acquaintance has done him the courtesy of regaining his balance with a hand at his back and a sheepish chuckle.
"Sorry, sweetheart, I didn't mean to scare you. You okay?"
Katsuki blinks his eyes open with the realization that he isn't going to hit the floor, a bright shock of red in his vision.
His savior is a rather large male alpha with a wild mane of red hair that he seems to have attempted to reign in with a headband. He's still a head or two taller than Katsuki even though he's standing on a ladder!
He's beaming a friendly smile right into Katsuki's eyes, sharp and glittering in the light of the sun shining through the tall, wide windows of the library. Katsuki would think that encountering such a sharp-toothed grin would be frightening but this stranger has a way about him that makes him incredibly inviting. He's got these deep brown eyes that almost look red the longer that Katsuki stares into them and a scar over his eye that adds a certain mystery to him but it's easy to overlook when he embodies all of the qualities of bottled sunshine.
"I told you not to just walk up on him like that; you could have made him hurt himself." A voice with a slight tremor chides from behind them. Katsuki has to physically crane his neck in order to see the other stranger---a small, dark-haired omega who seems rather tentative. Katsuki notes the very slight swell of his tummy and the hand resting nervously on top of it.
"H-Hello. I am Katsuki." He greets them both, anxious to be alone with two strangers but his instincts tell him that he may not have anything to worry about with the two of them. The redhead's smile widens and he gently takes Katsuki down from the ladder to set him down onto the floor.
"Hi, Katsuki! My name is Eijirou and this is my fiance, Tamaki and our pup." He says, swelling with pride as he pulls the omega---Tamaki---into his side with a gentle squeeze. Tamaki gingerly raises a hand to wave in greeting, leaning into his alpha's side. "H-Hi. I can see that you're scared; we really didn't mean to startle you, honey. Eijirou can reach that book for you if you want." He offers even though Eijirou is already reaching for the book by the time that he does.
Katsuki anxiously shifts on his feet and Tamaki tilts his head curiously. "Where are your shoes, sweetheart? Are your mommy and daddy here somewhere? Are you lost?" He asks, pushing a strand of hair behind Katsuki's ear. Katsuki blooms bright red at such tenderness from a stranger and averts his gaze to his feet with a shake of his head. "N-Not lost. Izu-nii, Sho-chan and Touya had to go to school today so Fumi has brought me to work with him. I like the library. It is one of my most favorite things." He murmurs, eyes flickering up at Tamaki once he gathers enough courage to look him in the eyes. "Also, I do not like shoes."
Tamaki makes an odd sort of crooning noise as he takes a hand to gently take Katsuki's cheek in his palm. "Such a cute little bunny~"
"Oh, wait! Your name is Katsuki, right? Izuku's little brother?" Eijirou points as if he's just put two and two together, handing Katsuki the book that he was reaching for. Katsuki nods with a smile, hugging the book to his chest as the alpha ruffles his hair. "We've heard a lot about you, little one. Seems like everyone in Sapporo is head over heels for your cute little self. We thought you were a kid wandering around here by yourself but I guess we know better now." He laughs.
"It is alright. People tend to assume I am a child at first glance. To be quite honest, in a lot of ways...I am still a child. Please forgive me if I say or do something that is incorrect. Sho-chan says that I do not know any better." Katsuki discloses, slanting curiously as he eyes Tamaki's belly. "Y-You have a baby in your tummy? Are you excited to be a mother?"
Tamaki sighs and tugs a hand through his hair. "I'm a little nervous but I think, overall, I'm very excited for Eijirou and I to start our family." He says smiling as he reaches out to lightly pinch at one of Katsuki's cheeks. "Hopefully they'll be cute as a button like you."
"I think that you are very beautiful and that your baby will be just as beautiful." Katsuki says casually, not at all expecting for Tamaki to abruptly pull him into a gentle embrace. "You're so sweet, honey, thank you."
"What'd I tell you, kiddo? My Tamaki is usually a nervous wreck around new people and he doesn't take compliments all that well either but he's just met you and he's wantin' to snuggle you right here in the hall. What kind of magic are you using? Teach it to me?" Eijirou says a bit teasingly and Tamaki huffs at him. "He's so cuddly and adorable; can you blame me?" He says defensively, squeezing Katsuki one last time.
"Touya had better be treating you right. If I find out he's ruining a sweetheart like you---"
"Calm down, baby. From what my brother tells me, Touya's more love drunk on Katsuki than anyone else. I think he's in good hands." Eijirou assures him and Katsuki hums his affirmation as the alpha begins to thumb through some of the books for himself.
"What kinds of books are you looking for?" The blonde asks curiously and Eijirou grins. "Well, since I'm gonna be a daddy within a few month's time, I wanna be the best daddy that I can be so I can help Tamaki and be good to my pup, you know?"
"What is a daddy? Is it a parent?" Katsuki asks, brows knit together in thought. "I do not have one of those."
Tamaki and Eijirou share a look with each other---sympathetic and sorrowful.
"I'm sorry to hear that."
"It is okay. I have not ever had parents before. It was only Brother and I until recently but he left me to go to the better place. I am not sad about it anymore now that I have Izu-nii and the others."
"Christ in a hand basket, kid." Eijirou breathes out and Katsuki wonders if he's said something wrong.
"Katsuki? Where are you, lovely?" He hears Fumikage calling out for him and he pokes his head out from the aisle, watching as the beta spots him just as he rounds the corner. He breathes out a sigh of relief and jogs over to him.
"There you are! Remember what I've said about wandering off without telling me? Please do be more mindful next time, darling." He says as he gently squeezes Katsuki's bare arms and watches for Katsuki's affirmative nod. "O-Okay. I am sorry; I had not meant to be gone for so long."
"Yeah, Fumi, he was just making new friends. You know he's safe with us." Eijirou insists and Fumikage smiles. "I know, Ei. If he's safe with anyone, it would be the two of you. I'm glad you've finally gotten the chance to meet each other. We've been trying to get Katsuki used to making friends. He doesn't know very many people and a couple of the ones he does know have left him scarred---physically and mentally."
Eijirou scowls. "Yeah, I heard about that from Tetsu. He didn't tell me about it until after we all saw Touya beating the absolute shit out of the guy but I wish he would have. I'd like to have taught him a lesson myself."
"You know that Tetsu and Touya would never have allowed it, especially after the news about you two having your first pup. The boys had it handled. Hitoshi said we had nothing to worry about."
Eijirou kneels down so that he's eye level with Katsuki.
"From now on, you can count Tamaki and I as friends, okay? If you need anything at all, you call Eiji-nii and he'll help you however he can." He assures Katsuki and Tamaki cosigns with a nod. "That's right. Doesn't matter what time it is. I'm going to give you my number so that you can call or text me when you need me or even if you just want to say hi, okay?"
Katsuki beams, smiling so hard that his cheeks start to hurt. "O-Okay! Can I see the baby when it comes?" He asks, eyes gleaming with hope as he stands on his toes. His excitement seems to be rather amusing—either that or it is quite contagious as the three of them begin to bubble into giggling laughter. "Of course, bunny. But you'll have to wait another five months." Eijirou says and Katsuki's bouncing comes to a halt with a pout. Do babies really take so long to grow?
A loud clattering noise from the far end of the library startles Katsuki and he crouches down low to cover his head with his arms with a tiny yelp. That, more than the jarring noise, seems to startle Tamaki into jumping out of his skin.
"Bunny, what are you doing down there? It's alright, it's just the door." He tries to gently coax Katsuki up from the tile and sure enough, a loud hoot indicates that someone has likely kicked the door open to come waltzing in.
"Helloooo, anybody home?"
It's Touya's voice, followed by the familiar sound of Hitoshi's laugh that has Katsuki sighing with relief and standing upright again, leaning down to pick up the book that he's dropped.
"We're back here." Fumi says with a fond roll of his eyes, watching the two alphas come playfully shoving each other around the corner to make their way over. Touya's face brightens with a cheek splitting grin the moment he lays eyes on Katsuki and he reaches down to pluck him up from the floor as soon as he's within arm's reach.
Katsuki drops the book to tangle delicate fingers within the mane of Touya's unruly hair and steal his lips with his own, the hands that hold him up around Touya's waist squeezing at his thighs. "Hey, kitty baby. Missed you." He murmurs against Katsuki's kiss swollen lips and the blonde hums, leaning in to kiss him some more. "I have missed you more. I hate when you have to leave me."
"One day I won't have to. We'll have our own place, you'll have a ring on your pretty little finger and we'll be living the life." He whispers, eyes flickering behind Katsuki with a wink. "Kinda like Eiji and Maki over there, yeah?"
It doesn't dawn on Katsuki quite yet that Touya has just admitted that he plans to marry him.
Eijirou's still flashing that smile their way and Touya moves to bump their fists together in greeting.
"Congratulations on the little one, man. Couldn't be happier for you; you're gonna be one hell of a fuckin' dad." He says and Eijirou pulls him in for a hug in gratitude. "Thanks, man. I feel kind of like an idiot for not noticing that he was pregnant until he was already four months in---"
"You mean to tell me that you hadn't noticed he'd missed an entire four cycles?" Fumi raises a skeptical brow and Eijirou laughs sheepishly. "Hey, man, don't attack me like this."
"It took for Tamaki to have a massive meltdown for you to realize anything was wrong and even then you only figured it out because he was screaming 'Oh my God, Eijirou, I'm pregnant'. I used to think that you would fake being stupid when we were in high school but I realize now that you were just born that way." Hitoshi adds, chin resting on top of Fumikage's head as he hugs him from behind.
"Ei isn't stupid, he's just...not very focused. I wanted to tell him but I was afraid of what he would say so I held it until I eventually couldn't take it anymore. That whole mess was my fault." Tamaki defends his alpha but Touya scoffs and waves him off dismissively. "You don't have to take up for him, Maki, we know Eijirou's slow on the uptake. He's always been like that. I'm kinda surprised Tetsu ended up being the smart one."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Eijirou huffs, no longer amused with being picked on. "Keep that up and I'm taking back my promise to make you our pup's godfather."
"You can't break a pinky promise, dickhead. Especially not one we made in middle school."
"He's right, Ei. Breaking a pinky promise is some unmanly shit." Hitoshi chimes and Eijirou promptly flips him off. "You guys are always ganging up on me."
"That's cause you're surprisingly easy to pick on for a giant with muscles bigger than the average man's head. And not very intimidating." Touya teased and Hitoshi chuckles in agreement. "Yeah. A giant puppy instead of a vicious attack dog."
"I hate you all."
"No you don't.
"Well, I wish I could!"
Katsuki finds their banter rather amusing. He doesn't think that he could do it; it would be rather awkward and uncomfortable. Maybe one day when he isn't so socially inept.
"Alright, guys. It was good seeing you but I'm starving. You hungry, baby?" He prompts Katsuki and the blonde nods, arms looping around Touya's neck as he goes to press sweet kisses against his cheek and temple. "We'll catch you guys sooner rather than later, yeah? Don't be a fuckin' dickhead, Ei, stay in touch." He says with an accusing finger pointed in Eijirou's direction, leaning down to kiss Tamaki's forehead after brushing the fringe out of his eyes with his fingers. "And you, gorgeous, make sure you take it easy."
Tamaki smiles, squeezing Touya's hand briefly before he lets it go with a nod. "You too. And you take good care of that sweet boy, okay?"
"Wouldn't dream of doing otherwise." The alpha counters, bumping his fist against Hitoshi's as he turns to leave.
"Bye, bunny!"
"Goodbye, Tamaki! Fumi!"

"Hey, ma."
Enji turns his head away from the stove just in time to see Touya crossing the kitchen with Katsuki in tow. He can't help but smile, seeing his son so happy these days. He's grateful that he had met Katsuki.
"Hi, honey. We're having tteokbokki for dinner tonight, hope you're hungry." He says, not at all prepared for Touya reaching over to press a kiss to the side of his mother's head. He's stunned for a proper minute or two, mouth agape and eyes wide as he turns to look at Touya but the alpha is already rifling through the fridge for something to drink. "You're making my favorite! It must be my birthday~" Touya hums as he emerges from the fridge with a water bottle in his hand, smile falling from his face as he takes in his mother's expression.
"Ma? You good?"
"You j-just...kissed me."
"Uh...well, yeah. You're my mother. Am I not allowed to show you affection?"
"No, no, that's not what I meant at all. It's just...Touya, it's been almost three years since you've even hugged me." He says and Touya feels guilt begin to eat away at him when he hears the sorrow in his mother's tone. He lowers the bottle onto the table with a heavy sigh. "I've been really shitty to you for the last few years, haven't I? Fuck, mom, I'm sorry." He says, reaching out to wrap his arms around Enji in a tight embrace. Enji is unsurprisingly responsive, squeezing Touya back like his life depends on it. He sniffles but Touya didn't need to hear that to know that he'd be crying; his mother is so emotional these days. "I love you so much. You're always gonna be my number one, you know that?" Touya assures him and Enji nods, unable to trust himself with words. Touya pulls away to wipe the tears from Enji's cheeks and kiss his forehead again.
"I'm gonna be better about the way that I treat you from now on. You, Shouto and Katsuki are the most important thing in the world to me; I don't ever want there to be a time where you feel like I don't love you. I'm sorry I was such a little shit."
"I know. I was never angry, Touya. I just missed my son."
There's a cold feeling in Katsuki's chest, watching Touya slowly rebuild his relationship with his mother. He's happy for him—elated even. Touya's expressed to Katsuki that he's never been so happy and the blonde could want nothing more for his love but part of him yearns.
Why does it hurt so bad?
Touya decides he'd like to sit at the table and talk with his mother while he cooks instead of going up to his room, even agreeing to help set the table. Katsuki offers to help as well but Touya insists that he's got it covered, not wanting for Katsuki to have to lift a finger while he was there. He's a guest; he's not going to do chores when he comes to visit. Enji has him come and taste the tteokbokki instead. He doesn't want it to be too spicy for Katsuki. He asks what Katsuki's favorite meal is so that he can make it for him sometime.
"My favorite is spaghetti and meatballs. Mrs. Inko makes it every Thursday! Thursdays are my favorite day." He responds from where he's seated on the counter. He opens his mouth when Enji prompts him with a spoonful. Katsuki takes it with hum, cheeks turning a peachy pink with how good it is. He's never had anything like this before and while he's never thought himself to be a fan of spicy food, he's definitely in love with this.
"O-Oh, wow!"
Enji chuckles. "Is that good?" Katsuki nods with an enthusiastic 'mhm!' and gratefully accepts another spoonful that Enji feeds him. "Happy that you like it, sweetie. It's been so nice having you around, I hardly get to see my own little one since he's always away with your brother."
"Mm. Sho-chan says that he is very in love with Izu-nii. He is so very happy; I do not think that they like being apart very much."
"Oh, I know, honey. I'm happy that Shouto has someone who loves him so much. Izuku has changed my Shouto in the best of ways; helped in ways that I couldn't when I had tried for so long. He's a very nice young man. Just waiting for him to come and ask for Shouto's hand."
Katsuki's brows pinch together in alarm.
"Why would he ask for only his hand?"
"Baby, no." Touya snorts with fond laughter. "He doesn't mean that he's gonna chop off Sho's hand and give it to him. It's just another way to say that he's waiting for Izuku to ask my parents if he could marry Shouto."
"O-Oh, okay! I am sorry, I did not know."
"We know, love. We know. You don't have to keep apologizing." Enji laughs and Katsuki blushes in embarrassment. He can't help apologizing when it seems like he's always doing something wrong. For whatever else Tomura may have done, he's always raised Katsuki to be polite.
The sound of the front door opening and shutting again alerts them that Keigo is home---he'd assume that it was Shouto if he hadn't already known that Izuku had taken Shouto out on a date tonight.
The blonde alpha enters the kitchen with a bit of a sour scent, an annoyed huff about him. He pauses briefly upon seeing Katsuki and Touya in their company, cursing under his breath with a sigh. Enji turns the stove off and turns to face his alpha, a little nervous with his behavior.
"Kei? Is something wrong?"
"I dunno if 'wrong' is the word I'd use, honey, but it's definitely a pain in the ass." He says, hesitant in continuing with Touya there listening if the way his gaze flickers towards the younger alpha is of any indication. "Touya. I need to talk to your mother a moment." He says, eyes flickering towards the staircase as if to tell him to give them a moment alone. Touya is visibly confused and mildly concerned as he looks between his parents.
"...Why? You guys aren't breaking up, are you?"
"No, buddy, it's nothing like that. Your mom and I are fine; I'm not leaving any of you."
"Then is it about me? Is that why you want me to leave?"
"Touya, no. I'm not here to talk about you behind your back---"
"Then just say it, dad. Cause you're starting to make me nervous." Touya pushes and Keigo pinches the bridge of his nose in frustration, a headache beginning to settle its way in. "Okay. But when I tell you this, you're either gonna sit your ass at the table and be quiet or you're gonna go up to your room and you're not gonna come out until I tell you---are we clear?"
Touya stalls, confusion growing more urgent as he opens his mouth to object when Keigo cuts him off again.
"I said, are we clear?"
"...crystal."
"Good."
Keigo cards a hand through his hair, jaw tight as his irritation blooms into full blown anger.
"Well, sweetie. I came home from my shoot and we had a...visitor at the front gate. One that refuses to leave." He explains, voice tight as he tries to quell his annoyance long enough to delicately relay the situation to his mate.
"Your ex is here. With bags. Says she intends to stay the weekend and that she wants to see the boys. I just wanted to know why you didn't tell me she'd be coming, love. You know that this puts me in a difficult position, don't you?"
Enji's eyes nearly pop out of their sockets and he looks as if he's about to piss himself.
"I-I didn't know she was coming here; I didn't tell her that she could…" He defends himself with a shake of his head and Keigo's patience begins to dwindle, eyes narrowed as if he's trying to comprehend whether or not he'd heard that correctly.
"...She's here, at our home, uninvited and demanding to see our boys. Are you fucking serious?"
"K-Keigo, wait---"
"Absolutely fucking not! I've put up with a lot of shit from Rei in the past five years if only for the simple fact that I wanted to give the kids a chance to have a relationship with their sire; I do not owe her a goddamn thing, Enji!"
The omega flinches at the tone Keigo uses with him but Enji quickly reaches out to grab his wrist as he turns on his heels to go and confront her.
"I-I know, Keigo, and I'm not expecting you to be okay with this but...could you give Touya a chance to talk with her?"
Touya's face scrunches in anger.
"Talk to her about what, mom? I've got nothing to say to that abusive, piece of shit excuse for a father. You're terrified of her and you haven't even laid eyes on her yet; why would I want to bring her into our home---into your nest?!"
"Honey...I may not have fully healed from what's happened between your father and I but I never wanted you to hate her---"
"Love you to pieces, ma, but this isn't about what you want anymore. She made her decision. And she thinks that she holds power over you, barging into your space and demanding things of you like you owe her any fuckin' thing---I'm not lettin', this shit slide! She's not gonna come here and walk all over you!"
Enji doesn't try to convince him any further, much too busy trying to quell his quivering when the front door opens and closes again. He's shaking like a leaf in the wind, blanched with a fear that Touya's never seen on his mother's face before. He can only imagine the things he's had to endure for the sake of their union. He can only imagine how much pain he'd been put through.
He could only imagine how horrible it must be to have to relive it all over again.
Keigo turns to the entryway with a growl just as a white head of hair peeks in.
Katsuki has never seen someone so beautiful in his entire life.
He sees where Shouto gets most of his looks from. Touya has mentioned that she was quite famous---a fashion model, if he remembers correctly. She's not nearly as large and intimidating as most alphas that he's seen before.
He's terrified to think of what she possibly could have done to make Enji so terrified.
"Enji. You look beautiful, as always."
