Enji hears screaming.
It's faint at first; he assumes that he must be dreaming it but then the jarring sound of the front door being kicked open startles him out of his drowsiness---the screaming is much louder now. Much clearer.
"Mom! Mom, I need your help, please---fuck! Don't go to sleep, baby, I need you to stay up, okay?"
It's Touya.
His frantic cries kick-start Enji's already fragile heart, shaking palms fumbling for the knob of his and Keigo's bedroom door as he comes scrambling out of bed. He manages to steady himself enough to throw it open, sprinting for the stairs so quickly that he nearly takes a tumble. Keigo isn't far behind him, yelling for Enji to slow down and be careful but his voice is no more than white noise to him---his son is in trouble. His son could be hurt.
He comes barreling into the living room like a freight train, coming to a staggering halt as the feeling of being thrown head first into cold water washes over him.
It isn't what he expected.
He'd worried that Touya had finally gotten himself shot or stabbed---that he'd finally pissed off someone who wasn't going to take his son's vigilante justice laying down but instead his boy is standing there in their foyer with a body in his quaking arms. His hands are smeared in blood and Touya himself is in tears. Enji's never seen him cry before, not since he was a small child.
"M-Mama, you gotta help him---I was...he was...he was talkin' to me in the car and then he just dropped and I-I t-think he's hurt real bad, can you help him?" He pleads, offering the body in his arms to his mother as more tears fall. "Y-You gotta try."
Enji is completely breathless. He hasn't called him 'mama' since he was a small child, either.
The body in his arms is an incredibly small omega---three times smaller than Enji himself. There's bloodstains on their thighs and on the yellow dress they're wearing, blood matting what used to be flaxen blonde hair onto the back of their head. What happened to this child? Did Touya...did he…?
"O-Okay. Okay, baby, it's okay. I'm gonna take them now, okay?"
Enji takes the body gently, unsure if moving his was a good idea to begin with. They don't usually move injured victims without assessing them first---moving them abruptly could do more harm than good depending on the injury. He moves them to the dining room nearby and Keigo quickly folds the table cloth over to remove it, taking any dishes with it in order to give Enji room to work. He spots Touya's friend, Tetsu, coming in through the front door that's still wide open. He seems to be unscathed but fairly frayed at the nerves.
Enji lays them down onto the table as gently as he can and does a general assessment. The kid is still clearly breathing; Enji can make out the rise and fall of their chest now that they're laying flat. There doesn't seem to be any other injuries other than the obvious head injury save for the several scrapes and bruises they have. Enji gently goes to lift their head when the kid groans, eyes fluttering open with a grimace of pain.
"T-Touya…?"
Touya tries to get to the table but Keigo stops him with an arm around his chest. "Hey, hey, now. If you wanna help your friend, let your mother work, okay?" He tries to reason, speaking as gently as he can to be mindful of Touya's vulnerable state. He can feel the poor lad's heart beating a mile a minute against the palm of his hand, Touya's bloodstained fingers gripping tightly around Keigo's arm to keep himself grounded.
"Katsuki, I-I'm right here, angel, okay? That's my mom, h-he's gonna help you, alright?" He says from where he's being held, an attempt to comfort the little omega even though he can't go to him as he wishes. The blonde responds with a weak cry and Touya's scent of distress is so potent that it's making his mother light-headed.
"C'mon, buddy. We're gonna go sit, okay? Let mama work, it's gonna be okay." Keigo says, trying to coax Touya out of the room as he scents him to try and calm him down. It takes a bit of help from Tetsu but eventually they manage to get him out and sit him down somewhere to get him calm.
Enji turns his attention back to the tiny body laid out before him. The boy, Katsuki, is looking up at him with a distant gaze.
"Hey, honey. Your name is Katsuki, right? I'm Enji. Can you hear me okay?" He begins, checking the injury on the back of his head. He has to ignore the cries of discomfort, grimacing at the mess of blood. It doesn't look to be a deep sound but he can't tell for sure with how matted and sticky his hair is. He's going to have to clean it up a bit.
"Y-Y-Yes."
Good. He's responsive.
"Good, good. And when I squeeze your hand, you feel it?"
"Y-Yes."
"Good, you're doing so good for me, honey. How do you feel? Dizzy? Fuzzy?"
Katsuki swallows roughly, tears falling down to his ears.
"H-Hurt."
Enji feels a tightness in his chest. Poor boy.
"Okay. We're gonna make it stop, okay? I just need you to hang in there for me a bit longer."

"I called Midoriya and he's gonna get his dad. They're on the way with Shouto." Tetsu says to Touya, entering the room from the kitchen. He'd stopped by the dining room to check on Katsuki on his way back in but they weren't there anymore so he came back to comfort his friend instead. He finds him right where he's left him, sitting on the sofa with his head hung low between his shoulders. His father is trying to comfort him, hands squeezing at Touya's arms in a soothing manner.
"I-If I would've just gone there today like I had meant to then---"
"Hey. Stop that, stop it right now. None of this is your fault, Touya, and I'm not gonna let you blame yourself for this---"
"But dad---"
"Listen." Keigo firmly takes Touya's face into his palms, lifting his head so that he could look him in the eyes. "Whatever may have happened, you saved that boy today. You are not a villain here. You didn't play any hand in his pain. I know it fuckin' sucks. I know you're scared for him. But you did the best you could have and because of you, Katsuki's not gonna spend the night cold and alone and in pain on the streets. Be proud. You hear me?"
A nod. Touya doesn't trust himself with a verbal response.
Keigo leans forward and presses a kiss onto Touya's forehead, pulling him close to hug him. "Mama and I are so proud of you, kiddo. It's gonna be alright."
"Your father is right."
Enji comes dragging his feet into the room, plopping down onto the recliner next to the sofa. He looks exhausted, but he's smiling.
"Your friend is going to be alright. As far as I can tell, there isn't any hemorrhaging or brain injuries to be concerned about. Poor thing took quite a fall. The bleeding was from scalp lacerations. He'd passed out from the pain, not from blood loss. He'll be sore, maybe have a headache for a while but he's going to be functional." Enji offers and Touya releases a breath that he hadn't even realized he was holding. His head drops down into his palms and Tetsu pats him on the back.
"...thank you, ma."
"You're welcome, honey. But...Touya, what happened to him?"
Touya sighs with a shrug.
"I dunno, man. He called me cryin', sayin' somethin' about someone tryna hurt him so I went to get him and he was hurt like that. He was gonna tell me what happened but then he fuckin' just slumped over like that and wouldn't open his eyes and---" he inhales a shaky breath. "I was so fuckin' scared."
"...you said somethin' about him goin' out with some guy, didn't you?" Keigo points, voice growing dark.
Touya, well aware of the implication, nods. "Yeah. They went out tonight, actually. Only thing I know is that he got that injury trying to run away." Touya can only imagine what Inass could have done to Katsuki in order to get such a wound from running. His first thought is that Inasa struck him while his back was turned.
God help him if so.
Keigo growls low in his chest.
"You got a name?"
"More than that."
"Gimme his address."
"Stop it, Keigo." Enji demands, becoming nervous of their implied plans. He doesn't want them to just lash out and do something reckless---anything could happen.
Keigo turns on Enji, teeth bared in a slight snarl. "Stop it? I know we can all piece together what happened to that boy tonight, Enji, I'm not standing here to do nothing."
"We don't know what happened yet, you can't just barge into someone's house and start beating the shit out of their son---"
"He shouldn't be beating the shit out of someone else's. That boy is so small that if the fucking wind blows too hard, he'll get carried away! He can't defend himself; he can't stand up for himself! If it was our baby---if it was our Shouto---you'd want that fucker to pay." Keigo counters and Enji goes stiff. He can't deny Keigo that, but the alpha still isn't thinking rationally and someone is going to have to if anything good is going to come of this. If they leave, Keigo is going to jail and Touya is undoubtedly going to murder whoever did this---he'll go to prison.
He can't lose them both. He can't let them ruin their lives.
"Not tonight, okay? Touya, that boy needs you here with him. It'll devastate him if you leave, if you're not here when he wakes up again. You've called his parents, haven't you? Let's wait for his family to get here. Let's wait until the poor thing can get his bearings enough to tell us what had happened. Please."
"As much as I wanna go and tear him from the fuckin' inside out, mom is right. We need to wait. And for Katsuki, I need to be here." Touya agrees and Enji breathes a sigh of relief. For now, at least, the situation is being de-escalated.
#
When Tetsu said that he'd called Katsuki's parents, Enji hadn't expected for Toshinori Yagi to show up at his door. His son is in tow---that freckled boy that's courting his youngest son. Shouto hardly ever brings him around but if Enji can recall correctly, he remembers that his name is Izuku.
Yagi seems just as frazzled as Touya had been earlier and Izuku has practically gone feral, growling even as he looks upon Enji and Keigo. Enji can just barely make out his own son behind him, a disheveled head of red and white sticking out from Izuku's side. Keigo steps aside to let them in and, wordlessly, both alphas ducking through to come inside.
Shouto throws himself into Enji's arms and the older omega leans down to embrace him, attempting to get him to settle down by scenting him.
"I-Is he okay? Katsuki was hurt; did he...is he---"
"He's fine, honey. He's got a really bad scrape on the noggin but if he gets some rest, he's gonna be okay."
Shouto relaxes with a breath of relief, walking back to the living room with his mother in tow as Kiego closes the door behind them. Shouto unlatches himself from his mother as soon as he lays eyes on Touya, running to embrace his brother. Touya takes him into his arms and squeezes, assuring Shouto that he's okay as his little brother fusses over him. Toshinori and Izuku stand by tensely, waiting for Enji to join them.
"Where's Katsuki?"
"He's lying down. I gave him something for pain and cleaned his wound; patched him up."
"And his injuries?"
"Scalp lacerations. Fairly mild. He's going to need some rest and his headaches will be quite chronic for the next few days but after that, he'll be alright. I'll give you enough of the pain meds to last him but he shouldn't be up and about in them."
Toshinori nods in understanding and Izuku, still absolutely livid, is the first to address the elephant in the room.
"Alright. So what the fuck happened to my little brother?"
"T-They do not know. I h-have not been able to tell them yet."
Touya nearly gives himself whiplash with how quickly he brings his head up from Shouto's lap, jumping up onto his feet as he sees Katsuki standing in the entryway. He's still splattered and smeared in his own blood, scrapes and bruises along his legs. Touya reaches out for him and like a moth to a flame, Katsuki gravitates to him. Touya is trembling at the sight of him but he smiles still, lifting him up into his arms to hold him tighter.
"You scared the shit out of me, kid."
"I am sorry. I was very afraid as well." Katsukk says, wincing as a sharp pain pulsates through his head. Touya sits back onto the sofa, keeping Katsuki in his lap to keep him held tightly against his chest. Izuku eyes them sharply but, otherwise, keeps his mouth shut.
Good. Touya's not in the mood for any of his shit.
"Take your time, baby, and tell us what happened so we can make sure it doesn't happen again." Touya encourages, making sure he keeps his tone even and his voice as soft as he can without whispering. He doesn't want to deter Katsuki from being honest with them---doesn't want for Katsuki to think that he's done anything wrong just because some piece of shit couldn't keep his hands to himself. He can sense that Katsuki is becoming nervous with everyone's eyes on him, tensing in Touya's hold but the alpha gently turns the blonde's attention back to him instead, looking him right into his eyes.
"Eyes on me, angel. Just focus on me. Talk to me." He tries again, pleased to see all of Katsuki's apprehension melt away. He always seems to get lost in Touya's eyes, his own hand raising to keep Touya's own at his cheek. Touching him---physically reminding him that he's there---seems to keep him relaxed. Touya caresses his jaw with his thumb, rubbing gentle circles into his skin.
"I...was out with Yoarashi. He had taken me to the theatre to see a movie. It was not very good and...I wasn't having very much fun. He seemed to think that I was very…"
Dumb? He certainly talked to Katsuki as if he thought he was an idiot. In hindsight, Katsuki isn't sure of why he'd continuously agreed to accept Yoarashi's offers to date him.
"Naive. In retrospect, he was not very kind to me." He adds. Touya's jaw tightens at this newfound information but he simply nods, urging Katsuki to carry on. "We...went to the diner because he said he had wanted to get milkshakes and he parked out in the back of the lot. He had expressed to me that he wanted to talk so that we could know each other better while we were alone so he had parked where it was very difficult for us to be seen. I was afraid...but I did not want to seem as though I was overreacting about nothing."
"And then what happened?" Izuku urged and Touya growled, glaring daggers right through him. "I told him to take his time; shut up and let him speak." He says lowly; there's an underlying threat in his tone that he makes clear to the entirety of the room. "He's had a long fuckin' night. We're not gonna rush him. We're gonna fuckin' shut up and listen."
Izuku bristles at him but does little more than that in lieu of a verbal response. He plops down into a seat nearby, arms folded at his chest as Touya goes to gently coax Katsuki into talking again. "Go on, angel. Tell me what happened next." He says. Katsuki is hesitant after Izuku's sudden outburst but Touya manages to get him to relax again with a bit of scenting and a gentle kiss to his palm.
"Yoarashi started to ask me if...I had ever had anyone. I told him that I had mostly been alone up until I came to live with you all but...I don't think he meant it in the way that I had assumed. He...said that it was hot and then he...kissed me."
Touya's grip on his hand tightens to a point of near discomfort and the alpha releases him, not wanting to accidentally hurt Katsuki in his anger.
"He...kissed you…"
"I-I-I tried to stop him but I could not push him off; he is much larger than I am!" Katsuki says, as if he's trying to defend himself. As if he's trying to convince Touya that he never wanted Yoarashi to kiss him. But Touya's anger stems from somewhere else entirely. If this is going in the direction that Touya thinks it is then Yoarashi had done a lot more than just strike Katsuki while his back was turned.
Touya takes Katsuki's face into his palms as gently as he can, chest heaving as his fury rises at an alarming rate. He startles Katsuki with the sudden movement, having him look him right in the eyes. This way, he can't look away. This way, he won't be able to lie about what Touya asks him next.
This way, he won't be able to protect Yoarashi.
"Baby. I need you to be honest with me, okay? You're not in trouble; you've done nothing wrong. But I need to know. D-Did he force himself on you...d-down there?"
Asking hurts. The way that Katsuki's face turns down into a sad and distraught frown hurt. The tears that well up in his eyes hurt and the way he starts to cry fuckin' hurts.
"I-I told him I wanted to go home and he would not take me, he just kept touching me and I begged him to stop---I told him that I did not want it but he held me down a-a-and h-he put his f-f-fingers down there!"
Touya's vision becomes blurry with tears of his own, hands falling from Katsuki's face and onto his lap. Shouto claps a hand over his mouth in horror and Toshinori seems like he's about to fall right over from where he stands---it's as if Katsuki's words have caused him physical pain. The blonde is becoming hysterical, continues his explanation in a way that's barely coherent.
"I-I-I did the thing, I kicked him in his stuff and he let go and when I opened the door to r-run, I fell out and hit my head really hard but I ran until he c-c-couldn't see me anymore a-a-and---and---"
And then he called Touya.
Katsuki bursts into tears, wailing and clinging to Touya's blood stained shirt. His words are mere gibberish now, sniffling and sobbing out bits and pieces that happened afterwards but Touya's sure that everyone else can piece together what's happened next.
He steadies his breathing as best he can, hands raising to wipe at Katsuki's tears with gentle words. He doesn't want him to make his headache worse by upsetting himself so much.
"You don't have to be scared anymore, okay? I'm right here. And like I told you before, I'm not ever gonna leave you like that for so long again. You hear me? I'm gonna be right by your side, angel. You trust me?"
Katsuki nods and Touya leans forward to kiss him again, lips pressed gently right between his eyes.
"Good. You wanna stay with me tonight?"
Another nod. Katsuki clings to him as if he'll somehow disappear if he let's go.
Touya doesn't ever want him to feel that fear again.
"Alright. Okay. Let's get you cleaned up, okay? Shouto's gonna get you a bath and I'll be upstairs with you in a bit. Go on, angel. I'm not leaving, I promise." He adds, nodding in Shouto's direction when the blonde seems hesitant in letting go. Reluctantly, he follows Shouto up to the stairs and Touya watches him go. He waits until he's well out of earshot before he turns to both of his parents and Yagi with his next proposition.
"I am giving each of you until morning to find a legal solution for this---only until morning, do you understand? Because I can assure you that I'm still gonna be fuckin' pissed when the sun comes up and if you do not make Yoarashi Inasa pay for what he's done then I swear to holy fuck that I will and it will be a fuckin' bloodbath." He takes an oath and looks Yagi right in his eyes. The older man, still shaken up, just nods. He doesn't know what else to say. What else should he do?
"Touya---"
"This is not a fucking discussion!" He snaps at his mother, snarling at him in a way that has Enji back away. Keigo snarls back, stepping in front of his omega protectively. "Watch it, son." He growls and Touya vehemently stands from where he's seated. He doesn't address his mother any more; doesn't respond to his father either. Tetsu grips his shoulder.
"Take it easy, bro. We're all here to help, alright? We're not gonna fight each other. I'll drag your ass out of here before I let you get into another fist fight with your dad and I sure as hell am not about to let you jump on your mom." He says, a friendly way to tell his friend that he's either gonna get his shit together or Testu is going to punch his fucking lights out. Touya's growling is reduced to an angry grunt and Tetsu pats him on the back for a job well done.
"Listen, everyone. It's late. Emotions are on high. Everyone is upset. We're not gonna solve any problems this way. Let's all get some rest and regroup tomorrow." He adds and everyone seems to agree for once. Yagi is on his way out of the door but Izuku makes himself comfortable where he is.
"I'm staying here. I want to be with Kacchan."
Yagi looks over to Enji and Keigo to make sure that it's okay and to apologize for the rude boorishness of his son. Enji assures him that it's alright, that Izuku is always welcome there and Yagi hurriedly goes on his way. Enji hopes like hell he can find a solution to this that'll keep his son out of prison.
"I'm gonna head home but I'll be back tomorrow mornin', man. I'll bring Hitoshi with me in case we need to go handle some business. Regardless of what happens come morning, I've got your back."
Touya sighs.
"Thanks, Tets. For everything, man."
Tetsu grins.
"No sweat, man. That's what bros are for."
He leaves shortly after he wishes Enji and Keigo a goodnight. Enji tells Izuku that he's fine to sleep in Shouto's room with Shouto as he has no doubt that Katsuki will want to spend the night in Touya's room but the freckled alpha sits there a moment still. He's eyeing Touya with an odd expression---it's as if he's trying to figure something out about him but he gives up halfway through, meandering his way upstairs to go and check on Katsuki and Shouto without so much as a goodnight.
"...well, he's moody and broody."
"He's an overdramatic asshole, you'll get used to him." Touya shrugs. Finally looking his parents in the eyes again.
"I'm sorry."
Enji smiles.
"I know. I'm sorry, too."
"I'm...going to bed."
"Shower first. That sweetheart doesn't deserve to be cuddled up under a bloody, sweaty, smelly alpha all night." Keigo reprimands and Touya nods his agreement. "Good. Go on. I get the feeling tomorrow mornin' is gonna be a rough one. Get some rest."
And a rough one it will be.
Not even God can help Yoarashi now.
