A/n: I thought yesterday was Monday. Anyway, enjoy this three chapter party arc ❤️
"Are you sure this is a good idea?"
Shota sighs, already well-aware that Masaru's nerves are going to be all over the place for the majority of the night---if not the entire night altogether. He's told him several times that his worries are misplaced and that Katsuki would be perfectly fine; he's got Hitoshi and Touya with him, after all.
"Masa. It's fine, baby. This isn't the first time Katsuki's been to a party, you know. He's a teenager; let him have a little fun."
"I know, I know. I'm sorry, I know that I'm getting on your nerves but he's just so little still and I worry about my baby…"
Shota thought that spending the evening on the sofa watching old Disney movies with Eri would be enough to keep Masaru's impending worries under control but it would seem that he didn't take Masaru's ability to overthink himself into a panic attack into account. He takes the hand laced together with his and raises it to press a kiss against Masaru's knuckles, offering him a reassuring smile.
"I'm not telling you that you're wrong for being concerned, babe. I worry about him too, most days. But I also trust that if no one else has Katsuki's back, Toshi and Touya do. He's gonna be glued to Touya's hip all night and Toshi's always gonna come running if Katsuki calls him. They can't be our babies forever. We have to let them grow up sometime. That means Katsuki too. Yeah?" He tries, feeling his smile spread wider as Masaru's cheeks bloom bright red.
"I-I guess you're right. I'm sorry for being so spastic."
"Don't apologize; you're okay. Let's just try to relax tonight, hm?"
His free hand reaches out to card it's fingers through Eri's hair from where she's napping on Masaru's chest and the older omega manages a smile. For now, at least, this seems to put him at ease.
#
"Thanks for coming to this thing with me, Kacchan."
Katsuki flashes that pearly white smile up at Izuku and it does wonders to quell Izuku's frayed nerves. It isn't Katsuki's job to coddle him, sure, but he needed this reassurance and support tonight when so many things could go wrong.
He tightens his arm around Katsuki's slim waist as they make their way up the walkway with several other party-goers that greet him on their way in. The guest list, it would seem, is a lot more extensive than he'd anticipated.
"Of course I would come along! I had been planning to attend with Touya and Sho-chan as it were but when you had called me to tell me that you needed my help, I was more than happy to tag along with you instead. I am upset that you assumed I did not want to spend time with you anymore. I was never angry at you. I simply assumed you would enjoy time to yourself after having to look after me for so long. Shame on you, Izu-nii."
Izuku at least has the decency to look sheepish about it, whispering an apology as he ducks underneath the low door frame to escort Katsuki inside.
Considering the sheer size of the house alone, it's fairly empty.
With all of the cars outside, Izuku expected it to be packed from wall to wall but there's still room for them to walk freely and comfortably through the house. He mutely wonders where Denki and Mashirao even are, as he can imagine they're having quite a time trying to greet and entertain everyone at once.
"Brother."
His eyes meet Katsuki's, brow quirked curiously at the blonde's mildly concerned expression.
"Yeah, babe? What's wrong?"
"I was about to ask you the same thing. You seem quite anxious about something. Are you alright?"
Izuku isn't quite sure of how to answer him, as he's not at certain himself. He's supposed to be there to have fun with his friends; he hasn't seen Denki or Mashirao in quite some time. He's also been able to sit down with Mina and Ochako to talk things over and clear things up---to better his relationship with them. Even Eijirou and Tamaki would be there to attend, especially since Eijirou knew very well what Izuku's intentions were tonight. He should be fairly excited.
But he knows that Hitoshi will be here as well.
Not to say that Hitoshi would actively seek Izuku out to cause trouble with him---no. In fact, he'd probably avoid Izuku altogether and that is the part that Izuku worries about. He'd much rather Hitoshi tell and scream at him than to say nothing at all. At least then, he'd know what he was thinking.
And then there's the off chance that he's looked at all of this entirely wrong and that what he's planning to do will be the biggest embarrassment of his life when Shouto inevitably rejects him.
In front of everyone.
Maybe he should just go back home.
"Do not tell me that you are thinking of doing the chickening out. For someone as forward and courageous as you are, brother, I have to say that it would be rather disappointing should you choose to do so. I do not know what it is that you are avoiding but as your father once said: man up, would you?"
Katsuki's tone is rather flat and Izuku knows that he's basically telling him to stop acting so fucking weird. Before now, he'd always walked around as if he had the biggest dick in the room and suddenly he's acting as if he's so afraid of himself---afraid of others. This isn't like him at all and, quite frankly, Katsuki makes a damn good point.
"I-I...uh. Thanks, Kacchan. That's actually really helpful; I feel a lot better now."
"It was not meant to be what you all would refer to as a 'pep talk', but I am happy that you are feeling better nonetheless."
"Yeesh, Kacchan, when did you get so sassy?"
"One would argue that I have always been but I believe Touya is beginning to influence a slight change in my personality."
Izuku snorts out a laugh.
Slight, he says.
"Good for you. Maybe now folks'll stop treating you like a helpless kitten, huh?"
"I assumed that as well but apparently it just makes me---Touya's words, not mine---ridiculously cuter. I do not think it is at all possible for me to not be perceived as cute. I tried to be intimidating once and they all laughed and made fun of me."
"Oh?"
"It was rather embarrassing. I believe being cute may just be my eternal curse." He sighs as they stop in front of the punch table. Izuku fills a cup for Katsuki and then himself, trying to tell himself that Katsuki isn't a child and that he's not doing a horrible thing by giving him a drink that absolutely reeks of alcohol.
He hopes to hell that no one tells Enji or Masaru about this.
"I don't usually condone underaged drinking but---"
"I do not need reasons as to why you are allowing me to drink, brother. They serve no other purpose than to make you feel more at ease about doing something that you know very well that you should not be doing."
And he artfully takes the cup from Izuku's hand with cat-like grace, leaving Izuku there to gape at him incredulously.
"Why do I get the feeling that I'm the only one who gets this sort of treatment from you?"
"It is because you are."
"Okay but why ? Everyone else still gets cute, sweet Kacchan and here I am left with Satan's seed."
Katsuki rolls his eyes at Izuku's dramatic comparison.
"Touya says that you are someone that I have to---as he said---put my foot down with. If I do not assert myself with you, then you will continue to bully me and fill me with your own insecurities. If I am honest, it quite pains me to be this way with you. I am much happier being myself but you have proven to be quite a bully so I must resort to this." He explains with a sharp sigh, eyes flickering up at Izuku from over the rim of his cup.
"Also, I do not want Touya to have a reason to beat you up anymore."
Fair.
"That's...very sweet of you Kacchan. I didn't realize I'd been so mean to you. I'm sorry, sweetheart. Really."
That sugary sweet smile spreads across Katsuki's face again and Izuku can't help but return it in kind, feeling a sort of reconnection. It reminds him of the feeling he had when he'd first met Katsuki several months ago, the same adoration and wonder.
He hopes that he keeps it this time.
"Izuku! There you are!"
The alpha is blindsided and nearly tackled into the table by a hug, a startled yelp ripping itself from his throat as he tries to steady himself but the alpha tacked onto his side is rather heavy.
"Touya...hey buddy." He greets in a bit of a wheeze as the raven squeezes him tightly. "Y-You, uh, been drinkin'? Awfully cuddly tonight."
"You know he's been drinking. Touya acts like he can't stand to be near alcohol without inhaling it like a fish." Shouto says as he approaches Katsuki's side, reaching over to hug his fellow omega with a fond smile. "Hi, angel. Oh, I love that dress! Where'd you get it?"
"My mother made it for me, isn't lovely?"
"Mmmmmhm~! I can't wait to take it off of ya." Touya chimes, using Izuku's shoulder as an arm-rest as he turns his attention towards his lover. His tongue darts out to like his lips, heavy-lidded eyes deliberately raking up and down his frame. He's blatantly checking him out and Katsuki feels like he's on fire beneath his gaze.
It's a short, red satin dress with a deep-cut neckline and slits on either side of his hips. He may or may not have worn it with the very purpose of getting under Touya's skin tonight, as the alpha has expressed several times how obsessed he is with the color red on Katsuki's lithe, slim body.
He can't wait for Touya to take it off, either.
"Do you always have to be a pervert?" Shouto accuses, folding his arms across his chest with that ever so scrutinizing gaze. Touya just shrugs at him, reaching over to pluck Katsuki's cup from his hand and drinking the rest. He slides his free arm around Katsuki's middle and grips at his waist, pulling him tightly against his side.
"Hey, that was mine!"
"I'll get you another, baby, don't sweat it. Oh...no, wait. How many have you had already?"
"That was my first."
"Alright, alright, you can have another. But I need you sober for me tonight, baby, so we're practicing moderation tonight."
"We?" Katsuki scoffs, raising a brow in skepticism. Touya's giddy grin spreads into a goofy sort of smile. "Yes, we. C'mon, baby, we all know you're a total lightweight---especially compared to me. I'm a fuckin' tank, I could drink an entire bottle with no chasers and be fine."
It's a valid argument, as Izuku has seen him do it.
"Why does he need to be sober, again?" Izuku asks curiously and he receives a wiggle of Touya's brows in response. "Didn't you just hear me say I'm takin' that dress off of him tonight?"
"Uh...yeah?"
"He's saying that they're gonna go down on each other and he wants them both to be sober for that. Consent and all." Shouto clarifies.
Izuku's face scrunches in distaste, lip pulled back in a grimace.
"Ew."
"There's nothin' gross about consensual sex, dude." Touya points as he refills Katsuki's cup and grabs one for himself. Katsuki thanks him and Touya reaches down to card his fingers through his hair. He's well aware that at some point, Katsuki will demand that Touya take him home and ravage him. Touya wants to remember every single moment---to cherish it. Getting shitfaced is the best way to fuck that up.
Ironically, he used come to these parties and get drunk off of his ass just so he could stomach fucking one of these willing participants in a bathroom or in the backseat of their cars---maybe an ex or two if they managed to be at the same party or if they'd responded to his drunken texts. Getting shitfaced used to be the only way he could enjoy parties. But that was before he'd met Katsuki.
Now everything in life that seemed dull and repetitive seemed much fuller. Much more fulfilling.
"I was referring to the haunting image of you sticking your dick in any part of my little brother."
"Oof, what about my tongue?"
"You fuckin' gross ass---fuck outta here." Izuku's laughing, mostly because he knows Touya is just trying to get under his skin. It feels nice not to be at each other's throats for once. Katsuki has done wonders for Touya's foul attitude.
His smile falters upon seeing a wild shock of purple appear at Katsuki's other side.
He doesn't say anything as they exchange a quiet greeting, smiling and hugging one another. Hitoshi's already got a half empty beer in his hand, arm around Katsuki's shoulders as he whispers something into the blonde's ear. Katsuki raises a hand to stifle a giggle and Hitoshi laughs with him, raising his free hand to ruffle soft, flaxen hair.
"You gonna stand at the table all night, Touya? Denki and Mashi sent me to come bring you back; you were supposed to get Katsuki and bring him to meet 'em, you fuckin' alcoholic."
"Whoops, musta slipped my mind. I got distracted, man."
"By what? An impending liver condition?"
"I ain't no damn alcoholic."
"Whatever, dude. Let's go; you know they get weirded out when Fumi starts goin' on his spiels about the beauty of death and shit."
And without even a single glance in Izuku's direction, Hitoshi turns in the opposite direction to escort them to some other obligation.
Izuku is powerless to do anything other than watch them leave.
"Oh...babe, are you okay?" Shouto asks at his side and Izuku breathes in a sharp breath, turning his cup up at his lips and turning to refill it with something stronger. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. Just...it hurt." He replies, trying to regain control of his pheromones as not to scare off other party-goers with his sour mood. "I'd rather he just punched me in the face than just...pretend I'm not here."
Shouto rubs at Izuku's back in an attempt to soothe him.
"I'm sorry, love. You'll work things out eventually; I know you will."
At this point, Izuku isn't so sure anymore.
"...Yeah. You look really pretty tonight, by the way, baby. I've never seen that dress before; is it new?" He changes the subject to something less depressing, leading Shouto onto the dancefloor instead. Tonight isn't about Hitoshi. It's about Shouto.
He won't make the mistake of neglecting that.
#
Katsuki has been hearing about Denki and Mashirao for quite some time but since it's been months since he'd ever gotten to meet them, he just assumed that he never would. He's heard nothing but good things, stories about Denki's humor and Mashirao's unmatched kindness. Apparently they were the only ones of their friend group to get married right out of high school and have been together ever since, always happy and incredibly smitten with one another.
Upon meeting them, Katsuki could see that the others weren't exaggerating.
They know each other so well, moving in tandem and fitting together like a puzzle that only consists of two pieces---perfect every single time.
Katsuki prays that they live a full and happy life together.
"Can I just say that I'm actually incredibly surprised that Touya's actually made a commitment to anyone other than himself? I mean, Touya's always been a bit of a…"
"Slut." Denki chimes with a pointed expression. Mashirao snorts out a giggle. "I was gonna say that he's a bit of a player but I think yours is more accurate."
They're sitting out on the rather large upstairs balcony, away from the rest of the party where the music is merely low thrumming thumps of bass. Denki is rather comfortable from where he's sprawled out across the black leather sofa with his legs draped over Mashirao's lap, a drink in one hand and Mashirao's fingers laced with his other. Mashirao apparently doesn't drink, but Denki does complain that he's a bit of a smoker. Katsuki would never have guessed.
"It surprised the shit outta me, too." Touya chuckles, chin resting on Katsuki's shoulder. The smaller blonder is perched on his lap as he usually is, having ditches his high heels halfway through the party. Touya was surprised that he'd kept them on for even that long.
"Katsuki kinda blindsided me. I dunno what it is about him that makes me so... complete. I just wished I'd met him sooner. Maybe I'd have spent less time being such a bastard."
"Nah, man." Denki says, waving off Touya's subliminal self-loathing. "Don't let how people see you from the outside looking in make you feel like you were ever a shitty person. You've done way more for this city than the SPD have. Making racists and rapists quiver in their fuckin' boots just from the mention of your name. You might not be the kinda guy to go around pettin' puppies and kissin' babies but you're a hero around here." He assures him and Mashirao hums in agreement.
"He's right, you know. Denki's little brother looks up to you---"
"I mean, he probably shouldn't but we think it's fuckin' cool that he does. He always tells my parents that you're what real rockstars should look like. My dad was pretty heartbroken over that. They're on tour right now and Akira is with them but he just keeps telling dad that he wants to come home."
Touya seems genuinely perplexed by such information. "Oh, shit, for real? I mean...wow. Wow. That's the best compliment I think I've ever gotten from someone…" He's blushing, tugging a tattooed hand through unruly hair. "I mean, I pretty much expect to be looked at like a criminal. I don't get offended when people avoid eye contact with me or when they lock their car doors when I pass them. To them, I'm dangerous and unpredictable. They look at me and they think I'm gonna rob 'em or shank 'em or some other ridiculous shit. I've just always known better. And I believe in the shit that I stand for so…" He trails off with a bit of a shrug.
"I've always respected that about you." Hitoshi says, taking the cigarette from Fumikage's lips as the beta offers it to him. "I mean, this city wants help but they want it in the form of some half-assed beat cop with a corny ass smile and rulebook. No offense to Yagi but we don't need a face to calm the masses; we need fuckin' results. Violence against foreigners has been at a high in this city alone for the last two years at least. But being racist isn't illegal and most of those crimes are committed against omegas so we all know how those went down in court."
There's a discerning amount of annoyance plastered to Denki's face.
"What, are we living in the fucking forties still? Whose dick do I have to suck to at least get a fuckin' board meeting about improving the rights of omegas?"
"Maybe start with the prime minister." Fumikage offers, albeit sarcastically. "Honestly, Inasa finally being charged and prosecuted for his crimes against omegas is probably one of the first in several decades that we'll see justice being served in such a case."
"I'm gonna enjoy watching that piece of shit rot in prison but I just want to point out that the ass whooping that Touya put down on him was absolutely legendary. You looked like a total psychopath and I'm fucking here for it." Denki says in a sort of sing-song. Hitoshi snorts around the cigarette, courteous enough to turn his head in the opposite direction to release the smoke in his lungs.
"What do you mean looked like a psychopath? Touya's fucking insane."
"That's a bit of a strong word to use. I like to think that I'm just passionate, right baby?" Touya prompts, noticing that Katsuki's been rather quiet. In truth, Katsuki's content watching old friends catch up with one another. He doesn't feel the need to insert himself in any part of their discussions.
"That is very true. Touya is not a man easily deterred from his goals or his beliefs. They are not what others would traditionally deem to be correct but his heart is always in the right place. He is rebellious, yes, but he is righteous. I believe...that is what I love the most about him." He replies, fully expecting the way that Touya's arms wrap tightly around him and the kiss that is pressed against his crown. "And Katsuki was the first person to see what I was doing and tell me that I was right . I mean, he had absolutely no understanding of the concepts of law and order and somehow he still understood that humanity and morality is often left forgotten in a pursuit of maintaining order."
"The problem occurs when people take an issue of morality and make them political. Standing with a group of people being plagued with hate crimes should not be considered a fucking political statement. " Hitoshi hisses and Mashirao let's out a low whistle in agreement. "You definitely said a mouthful there."
"For the longest time, I convinced myself that I was a bad person just so I could keep protecting people. That I was rotten. I met Katsuki after being arrested for assault. I mean, as soon as they took the cuffs off of me. And do you know what he said?" There's a pause---they silently urge him to continue.
"He said that he could tell that I wasn't a bad person. That I shouldn't be punished for punishing bad people, especially if no one else was going to punish them. People argued that I cursed too much but Katsuki, well, he said I was just expressing myself.
And when he found out that I slept around a lot, he gave me some long-winded response on how some people are more 'biologically inclined' to be more horny than others---it made me laugh---but the point is that he never judged me. Every single thing that society told me I was doing wrong, Katsuki told me that I was okay. It seems trivial to other people but to me? For someone to look at me like a person and not some sort of monster? That was everything to me."
Katsuki's heart flutters in his chest as Touya squeezes him tighter---it never ceases to make him swoon whenever he wears his heart on his sleeve for him.
"Gosh, you guys are so cute ! I mean, wow, who woulda thought, huh? A perfect match and you just sorta stumbled into each other's lives!" Mashirao gushes and Katsuki doesn't need a mirror to tell that he's absolutely red in the face.
"I don't think it was a coincidence at all." Fumikage adds. "Katsuki has been...fairly successful in shaking this place to it's core. Things are changing in this city for the better. It will be ugly for quite a while, as with all things when great change is about to occur, but this city is at a point of evolution---possibly the world. I believe that Katsuki is our catalyst."
"Why does that sound so terrifying?"
"I think it's just the way his voice is."
"I get the feeling that there's like, what? One singular brain cell shared between the two of you in this marriage?" Hitoshi teases and instead of them taking offense to it like Katsuki expects (as Hitoshi tends to have that effect on people), they just laugh.
"You're not wrong." Mashirao says and Hitoshi offers a fond shake of his head, a small smile tugging at his lips.
"Where's Izuku? Is he not comin' tonight?"
An innocent question, really, but it seems to stifle the mood entirely. The air is thick with tension, Touya and Fumikage avoiding direct eye contact with either of them.
"It's not my job to keep up with Midoriya." Is all that Hitoshi says. There isn't any malice or venom in his tone---just boredom, as if he's already sick of the conversation before it even begins.
"Jeez, sorry dude. You guys are usually just...you know. Always together. You're best friends after all so I figured---"
"U-Um, Izuku came with me tonight. He is downstairs with Sho-chan, the last that I saw." Katsuki tries to derail the direction of conversation before it goes further but the next question simply brings it right back on track.
"Oh, well why didn't you guys bring him up? He's the only one we haven't seen yet since we came back from Mashi's tour other than Ei and Tamaki."
"He could've come up if he wanted. Again, I'm not his babysitter."
There's a pause. Hitoshi ashes the cigarette and tosses it over the edge of the balcony.
"I see. You guys not on good terms or something?" Denki asks.
"Fuck 'em."
"Jesus Christ. I mean, are we gonna talk about it or---"
"Nothing to talk about. Izuku walks around acting like he's so fucking high and mighty---like he's better than everyone. He doesn't care about anything but his own ego and he doesn't know when to stop being an arrogant prick. I'm tired of being treated like his fucking side-kick. That's all there is to it."
Fumikage sighs, pinching at the bridge of his nose.
"I've tried to tell him that there's a simple miscommunication and that they should just talk this out but---"
"I'll mop the fucking ocean floor with a beach towel before I go and apologize for fuck-all to Midoriya when it's his own fucking fault. I told him not to fucking push me and he felt like his own fragile feelings were more important so I fuckin' bopped his ass---I'm not fucking sorry about it."
"Toshi, no one wants you to be sorry about it. We're just saying---"
"I said no, Fumi---"
"Okay. Alright. Let's just leave it at that then, I won't bring it up again." Fumikage relents, hands raised in surrender as Hitoshi's angry scent begins to swirl in the cool night air. The last thing he wants is for Hitoshi to be upset and ruin spending time with their friends during the one time he's been able to see them altogether this year. Hitoshi steadies himself with a sharp sigh, taking Fumikage's hand in his own to press a kiss to his palm.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to yell. I just got frustrated."
Fumi smiles.
"I know. It's okay."
"I love you."
"I love you more."
The alpha's hands reach up to hold Fumikage's face in his palms, pulling him closer to capture his lips in a chaste kiss.
This is the first Katsuki had ever heard about Hitoshi and Izuku's broken friendship.
That would explain why they hadn't spoken to each other earlier.
"Alright, alright. Enough with the angsty shit, yeah? We should go finish catching up with everyone; I've gotta find Eijirou and Tamaki so I can congratulate them on their first pup---maybe even dance a little. Go enjoy yourselves. Maybe get a refill on your drink and loosen the fuck up, yeah?" Denki suggests, the last bit directed quite blatantly in Hitoshi's direction as he and Mashirao stand from the sofa.
"You know where the spare bedrooms are if you guys need a place to crash or...you know."
"Fuck." Denki supplies and Mashirao rolls his eyes.
"Yes. That. Just please lock the doors and change the sheets when you're done, yeah? You guys are always welcome here." He turns to face Katsuki with a broad and friendly smile. "It was really nice meeting you, Katsuki. We should get together and hang out sometime when we don't have to entertain, hm?"
Katsuki returns it in kind. "It was nice meeting you as well! Thanks so much for your hospitality!" He says, watching them enter the house again. Hitoshi stands soon after, leading Fumikage up with him. The beta gives him a confused pinch of his brows.
"Where are we going?"
"Depends. But preferably a bedroom."
Fumikage sputters out a laugh.
"Seriously, Toshi?"
"Hell yeah."
"We just did that before we got here."
"I'm ready to do it again. The fucking platform boots are really doin' somethin' for me and that ass in those jeans deserves to be worshipped." He loops his arms around Fumikage's waist to pull him close, only to abruptly lift him off of his feet and carry him back into the house. It's safe to say they won't be seeing those two for an hour, at the very least.
Katsuki is prepared to leave as well as their company seems to have had other obligations but even as he and Touya stand from their seats, the alpha doesn't seem to have any intentions on going inside. He's just staring up at the sky.
For a moment Katsuki thinks that maybe Touya sees something but the only thing up in the sky that night are dozens of sparkling stars and the bright, white moon.
"Wanna take you up the mountain sometime. Stars are much prettier at night." He says, finally bringing his attention back to his boyfriend as the omega continues to search the sky for whatever Touya seemed to be so interested in.
"Mm. I would like that. But I do believe that it goes without saying that I would happily go anywhere as long as I am able to be with you."
Touya offers Katsuki his hand and he accepts, though he's unsure of what it is that Touya is doing. Does he just want to hold Katsuki's hand?
He pulls him in rather closely, flush against his body as his other hand finds a place at Katsuki's waist. Their bodies begin to sway, Touya guiding them from side to side as he hums to whatever tune is being played from the speakers. The music itself is barely audible and unrecognizable, but Katsuki prefers the gentle vibrations of Touya's voice in comparison anyway.
It occurs to Katsuki that they're dancing. Dancing in the moonlight.
Touya's romantic tendencies never fail to impress him.
"You know, babe. I was thinking of...I dunno. Taking this thing between us to the next level. Not marriage, of course, I'd never dump that sort of commitment on you so soon when you still have so much to see---so much to experience. Forever is a hell of a long time and I want you to be sure about me before I ever give you a ring, you know?"
It sounds like he's just rambling at first---something Touya tends to do when he gets a little tipsy---but Katsuki realizes that he's trying to make a suggestion.
"I understand, darling. Tell me what it is that you had in mind." Katsuki encourages him, keeping his patience. Touya doesn't always know how to voice his thoughts in a way that conveys them properly after a few drinks but he tries his best so Katsuki wouldn't make him feel bad about it.
Touya hums, mumbling to himself as he tries to remember where he was going with his previous statement. Katsuki assumes that he's about to make some silly suggestion about what toys to use in bed or about going all the way but when Touya finds his voice again, it's something else entirely.
"Right, right. So I was thinkin'---and you can say no, cause this is a really big step and you might not be ready; I won't be mad or nothin' like that---but I was thinkin'...maybe you'd wanna move in? With me. In our own place."
Katsuki leans back a bit to look him in the eyes.
"...you want to live with me?"
"Yeah. Like...buy you a house."
"But...why?"
Touya sighs.
"I mean, we're never apart anyways. We wouldn't have to keep switching back and forth between sleeping at my place or yours; we'd go to sleep in our own bed. Wake up in our own bed. Wake up every morning, tangled together. We could make love to each other without worrying about whether we're too loud or if our nosy siblings are all in our business. Just seemed like a nice thing, you know. And I'd want that. To have a private life with you. But we don't have to, not if you don't want to. Not if you're scared."
Katsuki smiles, raising a brow in amusement.
"Scared? Of what, exactly? You?"
Touya shrugs.
"Maybe. I mean...I'm an alpha."
Katsuki snorts.
"Oh, please. Do not be so quick to lump yourself in with the majority, Touya. I trust you. And we both know that you would not ever do to me the things that other alphas have done. I know that you are not treating me well simply because you believe you are being watched. Stop insulting yourself."
"...I...I can't tell if that's a yes or a no."
"It is a yes, love."
"Oh. I thought you'd say no."
"You always think that my response to all of your suggestions would be no."
Katsuki begins to coax Touya backwards until the back of his knees hit the sofa and he lands on the cushions with a thump. His glassy, half-lidded eyes look up at him in mild shock as Katsuki climbs up to straddle his lap.
"Whoa. Yo, babe, as hot as this is, I don't think we should be gettin' freaky on Mashi and Denki's balcony---"
"Touya. Please be quiet." Katsuki sighs as he leans forward to press his lips against the raven's. He sees the exact moment a lightbulb goes off in that brilliant brain of his.
"Ohhhh. We're making out."
"We are making out."
"I'm gonna be covered in cherry lip gloss."
"So?"
"I fuckin' love your cherry lip gloss."
Katsuki's hoping that occupying Touya's mouth will deter anymore of his drunken mumbling and nonsense but he's well aware that it's simply wishful thinking.
The party won't miss them for an hour or so.
