A/N: I was listening to ilomilo when I wrote this.

For once, one of Tsukauchi's plans had actually worked.

Toshinori won't admit aloud that he had anticipated things hitting the fan or that he was pleasantly surprised by the outcome lest he bruise the captain's already fragile self-esteem. The strategy of sedating someone as volatile as Katsuki via scenting in comparison to using actual drugs had admittedly burdened Toshinori with several doubts but Shota's past experience in dealing with his own child seems to have given them an advantage.

He could imagine that Hitoshi had been near feral upon puberty and having Shota's husband look after him would have inevitably ended in the two alphas challenging each other. Shota's level head and low tolerance made him fairly intimidating and, as far as Toshinori knows, neither Hizashi nor Hitoshi has had the gall to challenge him.

Toshinori is fairly impressed with Katsuki as well. Though the small teen is naive and confused, he's very keen and in tune with his instincts. His omega seemed to understand that his only option was to submit. Seemed to sense that Shota wasn't anyone that he'd want to annoy or anger with lashing out. Shota's mothering aura had probably had a lot to do with it as well but because Katsuki is still such a mystery to them---and to himself---it's fair to say that they may never know.

Toshinori does wish, however, that Katsuki wasn't so curious.

"Where are you taking me?"

"You're going to be staying with my family and I for a while until your brother gets better." Toshinori supplies, feeling a little guilty about lying right through his teeth but it's best that Katsuki doesn't know the nitty gritty details of his current situation just yet. He'd hoped it was enough to keep Katsuki's curiosity quelled but apparently not.

"Why?"

"Well, you can't very well live at the hospital."

"Why?"

"Because some other sick person may need to go there and there may not be enough room if you're there and you're not sick anymore."

"Oh. Why can't I just stay with Brother?"

"Your brother would recover better with plenty of peace and quiet."

"I can be quiet."

"Katsuki."

"Brother always stayed by my side while I was sick. I do not feel okay with leaving Brother alone to be sick when he needs me. Tomura would never leave me."

"He was going to leave you to go to the better place." Toshinori regrets saying it the moment he does, even more so when Katsuki's inquiries come to a halt. He decides it's better that he reroutes any further questions that Katsuki has about Tenko Shimura in the future. As delicate as the poor lad is, he doesn't need to add more baggage to the existential crisis inevitably brewing inside of him.

Maybe Yagi should consider returning to sensitivity training.

He clears his throat as his car comes into view, pushing the unlock button on his key fob and coming to a jerky stop as Katsuki startles and nearly jumps out of his skin. He clings to Yagi with a nervous tremble, head darting and swiveling around in search of any unseen foe. This even puts Toshinori on high alert, as he's uncertain what could have possibly sent the omega into a state of flight or fight until he registers the loud chirping noise that his car makes upon unlocking it. He sighs, realizing that this is going to be quite a long couple of weeks. Hopefully this would be over before summer ended.

"Katsuki, relax. It's just the car, sweetheart."

"A...what? What is a car? Is it that big ugly monster there? Why does it make such an awful noise?" The teen bristles, glaring at the car. He refuses to come out from his hiding spot, using Toshinori as a shield. It's cute---Yagi thinks---how innocent he is. "It's not a monster, son. Cars are machines or tools that people use to get from one place to another when they can't walk there. Like bikes or skates or even buses." He explains. He continues on towards the car with Katsuki waddling along behind him, slapping his hand against the hood to show the blonde that it was harmless. Tentatively, Katsuki scuttles from beneath Yagi's wing and quickly slaps his palm against the car as well. He recoils his hand quickly and jumps back behind the alpha to glare at the contraption but it stays docile. It's enough to convince him that the vehicle isn't a threat so he slowly releases Toshinori and steps back to allow the older man to open the door for him.

"Hop in. If we're lucky then we can make it home in time for dinner."

Katsuki silently climbs into the passenger seat and hugs his legs to his chest. He tenses when Toshinori reaches over to buckle him in, tugging at the seatbelt with a bit of panic until Toshinori gently places his massive hands on the boy's shoulders. He looks him in the eyes, lightly scenting him in hopes that it would get him to calm down and relax a bit more.

"Katsuki. It's just the seatbelt. The seatbelt keeps you safe in case we get into any accidents, okay? You can trust me. I'm not going to hurt you. I only want to help you, son. Okay?"

Katsuki holds his gaze, searching for any signs that Yagi might be insincere in his claims but it would seem that he has found none as he slumps back into the seat to relax. He keeps his bare feet up on the seat and Yagi doesn't scold him for it as he would his own pup. This one doesn't know any better, poor thing. He won't overwhelm him with too much too soon if he can help it at all.

"There are people here." Katsuki declares, gaze captured by the many citizens going about their daily lives as they pass them on the street. His face is practically pressed against the window just as his palms are, jaw slack in complete awe. Toshinori keeps his own eyes on the road but hums to let Katsuki know that he's listening. "Mhm. Our city is fairly small compared to others on the mainland but we are a tourist attraction so we're always busy." He says, fully expecting the silence that he receives in response. Katsuki seems to be fairly reserved in terms of casual conversation. As sheltered as he is, Yagi is not the slightest bit surprised.

"...I have never seen other people before." He tells Yagi after a while. "I have seen the man that often comes to visit Brother...but I only see him from the window of my room upstairs. The same way that I see the man who brings letters to Brother. But these people are different. And there are so many. I did not know there were this many people anywhere."

This is enough to alarm Yagi, eyes turning away from the road for a slight second as his brows crease with concern.

"Tomura has never brought you to town before?"

"...town? Brother has never allowed me to leave my room. He said the outside would make me sick because I am frail and weak...so I had to stay inside. I have known about others. Brother says they're all filthy. That people---like you---would infect me with their filth. But I have only felt sick in my room. I do not feel sick here. I wonder why…"

He doesn't seem to be expecting any number of responses from Yagi so the older blonde keeps silent. He wouldn't even be sure how to respond to the knowledge that Tenko Shimura has kept a child locked in an attic for nearly two decades. He wonders how Katsuki hadn't gone completely insane beforehand. He supposes that his ignorance may have played a fairly large role in that, however.

"Make yourself at home, kiddo. You'll be here for a while."

Katsuki doesn't seem as anxious as he had upon getting into the car as he stands out on the driveway to, uh...assess Yagi's home. His head tilts curiously, ignoring Yagi's presence next to him as he gives the house a good once over once again.

It's then that Yagi realizes that Katsuki is counting exits and entry points.

It unnerves him a bit and he worries that allowing Katsuki to sleep alone may not be the best idea. If he gets out on his own or tries to run away, he could hurt himself or get himself into a sticky situation.

"You do not live alone." Katsuki notes, turning to eye two other cars in the driveway---a dark green convertible and a luxury SUV that Yagi can't even remember the name of. He simply remembers that Inko wanted it and he'd taken her to get it without fuss. The other car belonged to his son, a gift from Inko and himself for his sixteenth birthday after he'd presented. They're much too flashy for Toshinori's taste. He'll stick to his old blue pickup truck.

"I do not. I have a wife, Inko, and our son Izuku. You're both around the same age and he's very kind, you might get along well. He can teach you how to...ah...navigate the outside world better than I can." As Toshinori has no idea how to teach teenagers how to be teenagers---especially not in this day and age. He hasn't been a teenager in over forty years.

He'll leave teaching Katsuki about his biology to Inko.

"To be normal, yes? You can say it. I am beginning to understand that I am just as Brother said. I am not like others. But I am beginning to question whether or not he was mistaken about me being special. It feels like I am simply...odd." Katsuki's eyes are locked on his bare and dusty feet as he murmurs to the alpha. Toshinori wants to assure him that he's fine and that everyone is a little different but he believes it may be best for Katsuki to learn that as he goes.

He reaches out to wrap a comforting arm around him, patting him on the shoulder.

"C'mon. It's Thursday so Inko made spaghetti and meatballs. You like meatballs, don't you?"

From the expression on Katsuki's face, he can tell that he has absolutely no idea what a meatball is. Toshinori wonders what exactly Tomura has been feeding him all this time.

He ushers Katsuki inside, calling out a greeting as he slides his shoes off to leave them at the door and slide his slippers on. He'd offer a pair to Katsuki but maybe a proper shower is in order first.

"Welcome ho—oh! Yes, I had forgotten that we'd be having a guest!"

Toshinori smiles, watching fondly as his wife peeks out from the kitchen. She disappears for a moment before she returns with a beaming smile, approaching the two of them carefully. Katsuki is tucked away beneath Toshinori's arm and though he isn't as spastic as he's been all day, it is fairly easy to tell that he's anxious. Toshinori can feel the slightest tremble from the omega as he watches his wife warily.

The sound of a door swinging open upstairs catches their attention and Katsuki's head swivels around as he backs the slightest bit further behind the alpha to hide, excited footsteps thumping against the floor as someone else comes down. Katsuki can assume that this woman before him is Yagi's wife, Inko. So then this person must be…

"Don't worry, that's just Izuku." Yagi confirms, attempting to keep Katsuki collected. The blonde keeps his place behind him and partially out of view as a fluffy bed of green curls peeks out from the top of the staircase. It's the most notable thing about this 'Izuku' other than the constellation of freckles littering his face and skin. He's grinning from ear to ear as he comes trotting into the foyer, most likely happy to see his father.

"Hey, Dad! How was work? I wanted to ask you if...uh…" Izuku falters in his excited chatter, having to look twice as he sees the much smaller teen ducking behind his father's lanky frame. "Oh, hi! Sorry, I didn't see you down there. I'm Izuku, nice to meet you!" He greets, smile returning with vengeance as he offers his hand to Katsuki but he just stares at it, unwilling to move from his place. Izuku's smile fades and replaces itself with mild concern as he looks to his father with caution.

"This is Katsuki, Izuku. He's going to be staying with us for a while." Inko explains and Izuku's brows nearly hit his hairline. "That's right. He's a little shy, so you'll have to be patient with him. I want you to look after him while he's here, alright?" Yagi adds, knowing full well that Izuku wouldn't object. He gives his father a look that demands an explanation and Yagi makes a silent gesture to let him know that he'll receive it soon so Izuku allows his smile to return, a bit softer this time.

"Right. I didn't mean to scare you. You're safe here, I promise." He assures Katsuki and Yagi nods his approval, patting Katsuki on the back. "I need to have a word with Izuku a moment so would you mind waiting with Inko in the kitchen for me? I'll be right back, I promise." He tries, a pang of guilt in his chest at seeing the way the teen clings to him.

"If you only need one word with him then why is it I should be left without you?" He asks nervously and Inko tries---and fails---to hold her giggles. "Sweetheart, to have a word with someone means that you need to talk to them about something important." She informs him. Katsuki's brows knit together in a fit of frustration and she offers him an apologetic smile.

"Dinner isn't quite ready but the dinner rolls and the cookies are ready. Would you like a cookie while we wait for them? I'd like to get to know you if that's alright, dear." She's gentle with him and although Yagi has yet to share the specific details of Katsuki's stay with her, she seems to understand very well how delicate the situation is. Reluctantly, Katsuki follows.

Toshinori stands and watches Inko lead Katsuki to the kitchen table and sit him down, keeping her tone soft with him in the same way she would when Izuku was just a pup. Izuku watches alongside him, turning to look at his father expectantly once he's sure Katsuki is okay without him. Toshinori acknowledges him with a sigh.

"Alright. So I know you're wondering why he's here—"

"And...uh. I mean, I don't want to sound rude but he's a little...off. What's up with him?" It feels a little rude to use the word wrong when Katsuki is obviously just a little different.

He's used to his father coming to vent to him about his cases, as Izuku intends to go into law enforcement as well and has looked up to his father for quite some time. Inko refers to Izuku as Toshinori's sidekick most times and neither alphas seemed to have any qualms about it. Whenever Yagi is stuck on a case or lost on a lead, he consults his son. A father/son dynamic duo. Izuku definitely had the brains for it and with how much muscle he's put on over the years, he'll be fit for it as well.

Toshinori turns his attention to the kitchen once more before he motions for Izuku to follow him outside and Izuku follows curiously, casting one last glance of his own to their guest before he closes the door behind them.

"Alright. I'm going to tell you something that nobody else can know---not even your mother. You have to keep this between you and I because this is extremely classified information and---"

"That's Bakugou Katsuki, isn't it?"

Toshinori gapes at his son and the freckled teen takes it as affirmation, hand reaching up to rest his chin in his hand as a thoughtful expression overtakes him.

"I've studied that case in and out for years now as it's been the only one you haven't been able to solve and I was hoping I could help piece together some clues for it. He matches the description of the missing infant entirely too well and his features are akin to those of an albino so they're very distinct and hard to mistake for someone else. The real question is---"

"Izuku."

"Sir?"

"I've solved the case already, son."

Izuku's brain seems to stall for a solid thirty seconds.

"Oh. Oh...oh no, was I doing the word vomit thing again?"

"Just a little." His son will always be annoyingly adorable. Bless him.

Izuku sheepishly rubs at the back of his head, a blush of embarrassment powdering his cheeks. Yagi reaches out to ruffle his curls with a fond chuckle. "To be fair, I only feel as though the mystery has been solved because all of the components have presented themselves. The problem is that we're missing the actual evidence of the crime. We have the suspect in custody."

Izuku is in awe.

"What? Just, like, in a day?"

"Well, this all kind of presented itself by chance, my boy. The situation is a rather sad one, however, so Katsuki will need you to guide him and be patient with him. You'll be able to help him navigate the world better than I can. Your mother and I can nurture him but we can't teach him how to be a teenager."

A puzzled expression crosses Izuku and Toshinori stops him before he can ask the obvious question.

"Long story short, the suspect has been keeping him locked in an attic for the last...what, seventeen years? Katsuki thinks that he's his brother. The poor kid has never been around other people before, never seen a person up close. He's also pretty ignorant on his biology, most likely reading from books that were written before the mutation era.

That being said, he's been on drugs that basically delay puberty for the last three years so he's just now being able to present now that we've flushed it out of his system. The poor kid was almost dead when we found him."

Izuku is beginning to look a tad green as his father explains the situation to him.

"That's...holy shit."

"Yeah. No sexual trauma, though, which is a good sign. The sick bastard tried to kill himself while the kid was on the brink of death. Two other bodies were found. CSI's are having a fucking field day."

Izuku stands there absolutely stunned, trying to soak in the influx of mind boggling information that he's being fed.

"Okay. So he's...naive. And he's traumatized. But he doesn't realize that he's traumatized. Only that he's naive. Skittish. Afraid. I'll really have to treat him delicately." Izuku deducted with a nod to himself. It's gonna be tough but he's no stranger to helping people who would be considered broken or damaged. He supposes this time will be a bit different, however, as it'll be more like helping a sibling instead of helping someone that he intended to court.

Speaking of…

"I think I should introduce him to Shouto. They seem to be quite similar to each other as far as I can tell. It may be a little less awkward for him to learn about his secondary gender from a younger omega...no offense to mom. I just think Katsuki should have someone that he can sort of relate to. And, honestly, that isn't any of us here."

Yagi is inclined to agree.

"That isn't a bad idea at all. Your boyfriend's a sweet boy, I'm sure he wouldn't mind lending us a hand with him."

"Mm. I'll call him later. I won't tell him the nitty details of it all, just enough to let him know why we need his help."

"Thanks, son."

The front door creaks open and they both turn to see Katsuki peeking out shyly.

"S-She says that dinner is ready."

Both alphas flash a smile at him, knowing full well that it wouldn't be wise to keep Inko waiting.

"I hope you're hungry! Mom makes the best spaghetti!" Izuku chuckles and Katsuki nods.

"I like the cookies." Is all that he says and Yagi can barely contain his laughter.

"Is that why your face is covered in chocolate?"

As odd as this new adjustment is, he gets the feeling that having Katsuki around will be nothing short of a delight. He hopes that he can make it that way for Katsuki as well.
