"Well I guess this is it," Taehyung reluctantly opens the car door, he looks over his shoulder for a brief moment.
Jungkook raised an eyebrow, smiling secretly to himself.
"Thank you."
The brunette wanted to give himself a pat on the back for managing to speak without a stutter. Because holy moly the way the other's eyes dug into him with such sheer intensity, he found it hard to breathe.
"Sleep well angel," The dark haired male spoke, blinking a couple of times he let out a small yawn, his arms stretched out and a stream of veins popped out as he did so.
Taehyung froze, his eyes widening by a mere fraction, his heart too, seemed to have stopped functioning. God were his cheeks burning scarlet.
"Right, I will!" The boy squeaked sliding out of the car he quickly shut it behind him, sprinting off to the front of his house.
Jungkook chuckled, shaking his head he muttered a 'cute' under his breath as his eyes followed a panicked Taehyung.
"Taehyung you darn fuck up." He muttered to himself, slapping his reddened cheeks, he heaved a sigh of relief as he heard car wheels scrape away.
Taehyung fumbled around for his keys in his pockets, frowning as he feels nothing but the linen that lined them.
Reality dawned upon him as the boy brought up his palm to slap his forehead.
He had managed to lose his keys.
His father would never open the door for him. Heck he'd probably be ecstatic at the thought of Taehyung dying in the cold.
The brunette grimaced, still, perhaps it was worth a try.
His finger tip pressed on the doorbell, once.
Taehyung held his breath, daring a second time.
Nothing.
The boy rolled his eyes, imagery of his father sprawled out on the couch half knocked out from alcohol seemed accurate.
He bit his lip, as he clicked on his phone, scrolling through his very few contacts.
Taehyung felt like crying as he looked at the only saved contact on his phone. Jungkook.
So much for a social life.
Grinding his teeth together, he braced himself, for the embarrassment, because yes a well grown boy like Taehyung had lost his keys... how?
That remains a mystery.
"Angel?"
Taehyung coughed, his cheeks immediately flooding with colour.
"U-Uh I need your help?" The boy timidly asks, his foot scraping at a rock as he bites his lip.
Jungkook didn't actually leave, funnily enough he was right around the corner.
Much like a stalker, but he wanted to make sure his boy got in safe, after knowing what goes on in that house, it was only his instinct.
"You alright?" His voice rutted through the line, and that alone deepened the red that stained the brunette's cheeks.
"I lost my keys, I may have dropped it somewhere but there's no one at home so I can't get in, could you maybe help me out?"
Taehyung lied through his teeth, but fairly enough his father's presence was nothing to him.
Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows, he nodded, almost slapping himself when he realised the other couldn't actually see him.
"I'll pick you up, you can stay over with me yeah?"
Taehyung cleared his throat, a small smile forming on his lips.
"You sure?"
Jungkook smiled, fidgeting with one of his silver rings as he fought back a laugh, twisting the key the engine started, he had many thoughts at this time, but some he decided would be better in his head.
"I'll come over to pick you up, just wait for me."
The call cut off, and Taehyung breathed out a sigh of relief, his heart thumping wildly as he grinned.
Guess he wouldn't be left out in the cold tonight, but what made him jitter was at the thought of spending a night with Jungkook.
Taehyung was too inexperienced for such a field, after all it's now only his social life was starting to peak, blushing, the boy turns on his heel.
A short sigh escapes his lips as he walks away from his home, deciding to wait out at the front for Jungkook.
Months ago such a sentence would sound extremely unusual, but he was now so casual about saying the name that used to torment him for so long.
People change like the damn weather, he thought as ironically a light shower of rain had begun.
Taehyung didn't flinch or seek shelter, yet instead he smiled and sighed pleasantly, enjoying the cool wet droplets of rain that covered what was exposed of his skin.
Something wielded around the corner, the boy's eyes widened.
A familiar car halted to a stop in front of him, the tinted window rolled down on the passenger side and Jungkook's face popped up, a frown evident.
"Get in, you'll get a cold!" He yelled worriedly, Taehyung smiled as he slowly walked to the car, his pockets shovelled into his trousers, unbothered still.
The car door swung open, almost knocking him over, and the brunette let out a short gasp, his eyes narrowed towards a sheepish Jungkook.
"Sorry, I don't want you getting a cold,"
Taehyung slid into the passenger seat, closing the door and buckling up his seatbelt.
"I'm touched, really, you came all this way." The boy smiled cutely, Jungkook couldn't help but feel slightly agitated, Taehyung's hair was a little damp a few strands drooped over his chocolate eyes.
His lips parted, pink and full, Jungkook bit his lip letting his fingers brush away the strands that covered his beautiful eyes.
There was a sort of silence that filled the car, it was comfortable.
Taehyung smiled, deciding he'd muster up all the courage his small self had left.
Leaning forward, he placed a soft kiss on the other's cheek, Jungkook felt his heart jolt and he cleared his throat, praying his cheeks wouldn't show up in colour.
Taehyung giggled a little leaning back in his seat, he runs a hand through his wet hair. Silently thanking the rain. For he had now witnessed a flustered Jungkook.
He decided that was his favourite type of Jungkook.
"Are you sure I'm alright staying with you?"
Jungkook nods, avoiding by all means any sort of eye contact with Taehyung. His cheeks were still warm, and he was sure they were brimming with a rosy hue.
He was glad, today was the day his father had gone out on some business trip.
Jungkook didn't know if that really was the case, but he didn't care, nonetheless his father wasn't at home.
It was a perfect time.
Jungkook frowned, his sister was probably alone, she was a fully capable sixteen year old but the boy still worried, he never liked to think she was older than five.
That of course annoyed her to her wits end, she's pout and roll her eyes whining to him saying she 'old enough.'
Taehyung would probably get along with her bright soul.
Speaking of, the boy was tracing a heart on the condensed window, writing both his and Jungkook's initials in it.
He smiled in triumph, proud of his work.
Taehyung closed his eyes briefly, hoping with all of his little heart that nothing would ruin this train of bliss.
That even if this train of bliss were to lead to a mess, he hoped it would end peacefully.
No. It won't end.
"Taehyung."
"Hm?"
The boy almost screeched when a pair of lips pressed against his cheek.
Jungkook pulls away grinning at his boy who shied away from him, with burning cheeks, muttering under his breath.
"Jerk."
Because if it did end, Taehyung feared that he would find himself treading on this thin line between life and death.
