bouquets.☁︎

Taehyung sighs in relief, he had made it just in time, gripping the bouquet of flowers in his hand his eyes light up as he stares at the sky, it was so blue, so pretty.

The wind blew softly, and the brunette just felt himself find relief, for a moment.

He stood by his brother's grave, inhaling the gentle scent of the flowers that he cradled by his chest, he remembered the good, what it was like having someone so special to him, to guide him through life and be by his side, to support him.

Though he had given up and did something that time could not reverse.

"Do you think its wrong, hyungie?"

"To like a boy, is it so wrong?"

He smiled softly at the little brunette, shaking his head.

"You like whoever you want, okay?"

"There's no matter of gender when it comes to love, taetae."

Taehyung frowned, he blew out the fringe that covered his eyes, his lips pouted as he stared up at his brother who only stared back at him with loving eyes.

"Father doesn't think it's right, hyungie." The boy's frown deepens as he recalls the man lecturing him about the 'sin' that is homosexuality, it was wrong was it not?

"Isn't Father always right?"

His brother shook his head wildly, anger flashing in his eyes, he knew it, the corrupted man that he called father was trying to get to his little brother now if what he hadn't been through wasn't enough.

"You listen to me, okay? not him."

Taehyung nodded, he loved his brother more than anyone else.

"He is far from what is right."

"I'll come back okay? we will meet again, I swear it little one."

The older brother stroked the younger's hair softly, letting out a choked whimper of pain.

It seemed like he didn't want to leave, but he had no choice, it'd be worse for him to stay.

Taehyung's eyes were teary, his heart sunk, no, his brother couldn't leave him, who would he have?

"You'll come back?"

His brother nodded, though it seemed reluctant, something was most definitely not right.

"C'mere." The older boy gestured forth for the little one to hug him, his arms outstretched.

Taehyung waddled over, a gentle hiccup escapes him as he engulfs himself in his brother's longing embrace.

Why, why did this feel like a goodbye?

Taehyung could feel his eyes sting at the memory, he was right, it was a sugar-coated way of his brother saying that he would never come back.

He was so naive, he was left alone, with his father who cursed at him every day,
blaming him for everything.

Taehyung was only 7.

Yes, his brother died, fatally in a supposed 'car accident'. Taehyung wasn't mad at him for leaving, he would too, but he was a coward.

He was scared of the thought of dying, it was ever so bleak and daunting.

Taehyung shook his head, his hair ruffles as he does so. He knew his way of coping, his little ukulele.

His brother would sit by him, and strum the chords of the instrument, slowly coaxing the small brunette into sleep.

It was a sort of reminder, his brother, really was the only person who ever brought back the great of his childhood.

Jungkook watched as the boy covered his face with his palms, his body wracked as he cries out in sorrow. The bouquet falls from his grasp, and for the first time in a while, he completely breaks down.

Taehyung falls to his knees, in front of the grave as he calls out his brother's name, while tears streak down his hollow cheeks.

The ravenette grits his teeth, his grip on his steering wheel tightens, he longs to run over to the boy and hold him in his arms, console him.

He couldn't, he restrained from doing so, fuck what could he do?

Then, he remembers the boy playing the ukulele for him, comforting him, actually caring like no one else had done before.

Fuck it.

Jungkook swings open the door of his car, as he practically stumbles out of the driver's seat running towards the brunette without a moment of hesitation.

"Taehyung!"
